After Becoming a Scummy Alpha, the Movie Queen Just Wants to Pamper Her Wife (LILY, ABO) - Chapter 6
Around noon, Xi Xiaoyan received a message from Meng Chuwu.
“Not pregnant.”
She stared at those three words for a long time. Her emotions were all over the place.
Before, she had always thought it wouldn’t be difficult to ignore Meng Chuwu’s past. But when that past was suddenly brought in front of her, it still hurt more than she expected. Most of the joy she had felt from their marriage was already gone.
Especially when she realized that something like this could happen again in the future. The thought made her lose her appetite.
Under Chao Zhi’s worried gaze, Xi Xiaoyan sat in front of a table full of delicate dishes but didn’t eat much. After a while, she returned to her room.
At the hospital, the test result had come back positive, but the doctor explained it was a false positive. There was no pregnancy.
Back in the car, Liao Xuehui cried loudly and swore with tears in her eyes.
“If I lied to Sister Meng on purpose, may I be struck by lightning. I swear I would never do something like that.”
Since she was a public figure, Meng Chuwu didn’t want to make a bigger scene.
“You don’t need to say that. Where do you want to go? I’ll take you there.”
Maybe Liao Xuehui hadn’t faked the test result, but the way she had shown up at the house, shouting and causing a scene, made it clear she had done something shady when they were together.
Liao Xuehui picked up on what Meng Chuwu meant. Now she felt embarrassed and regretful.
She had been so confident earlier. Before making a scene, she had already planned how to use the child to move in and eventually force Xi Xiaoyan out. But things didn’t go the way she expected. In the end, all her planning had only made her look foolish.
Everyone said Meng Chuwu was easy to fool. She used to think the same. But today, she had stayed calm and handled everything in a clear and organized way. She seemed different from how she had been two months ago.
After thinking about it, Liao Xuehui got scared that Meng Chuwu might sue her for fraud. She didn’t say another word.
She didn’t even dare ask for any hush money anymore. She just quietly gave her home address.
When Meng Chuwu returned home, Chao Zhi hurried to meet her.
“What happened?”
“False pregnancy,” Meng Chuwu said and waved her hand. “Where is Xiaoyan?”
“She went back to her room after lunch. She barely ate anything.”
“I’m starving. Ask Chi to prepare lunch for me.”
“I’ll do it. They went out shopping.”
As Meng Chuwu ate, Chao Zhi couldn’t help but speak.
“Miss Wu, I know you don’t worry about money. But please let me say this. Miss Xi is a good person. She’s not someone who can be bought. It’s clear that she truly cares about you. You shouldn’t keep hurting her like this.”
“Hold on,” Meng Chuwu interrupted. “Aunt Chao, are you saying you don’t believe me?”
From the way she spoke, it was obvious she thought Meng Chuwu had paid Liao Xuehui off. If Chao Zhi thought that way, then Xi Xiaoyan might believe the same.
The original Alpha really left behind a mess.
“I just care about you and Miss Xi, that’s all.”
“I didn’t give Liao Xuehui a single cent.”
Meng Chuwu had been hungry before, but now she completely lost her appetite.
Chao Zhi’s eyes widened, and her face turned red.
“You’ve always been generous. I assumed that’s how you handled it.”
“I’m generous, but only when it makes sense.” Meng Chuwu stood up and left the dining room.
Chao Zhi watched her leave and thought to herself. In the past, she would never have bothered with something like this. If spending money could solve the problem, she would never do anything herself. Taking someone to the hospital? That would have been out of the question.
She had really changed. And it was all because of Xi Xiaoyan.
Back in the bedroom, Meng Chuwu saw Xi Xiaoyan lying on her side with her back to the door.
There was no way she had fallen asleep. The curtains were wide open. She was definitely waiting for her to come back.
Meng Chuwu remembered how, in the original story, when the original Alpha had been caught cheating, Xi Xiaoyan had given her a chance. That meant she had once cared deeply. But the Alpha had never understood or cherished that love, and only pushed her further away until she gave up completely.
Now, Meng Chuwu stood at a crossroads. Should she come clean and break things off, or try to earn her heart again?
The original Alpha’s history was such a mess that even she felt disgusted by it. She couldn’t understand why Xi Xiaoyan still chose to believe in her.
“I’m back,” Meng Chuwu said as she sat down by the bed. When she saw that Xi Xiaoyan was pretending to be asleep, she reached out and gently shook her shoulder.
Xi Xiaoyan slowly opened her eyes. After sitting up, she unconsciously leaned away.
Their eyes met. Both looked tired. Meng Chuwu opened her mouth to speak but couldn’t find the words.
Xi Xiaoyan looked at her calmly, clearly waiting for an explanation.
“Do you remember what I told you before we got married?” Meng Chuwu asked.
Xi Xiaoyan nodded. With that guilty look on her face, she really did resemble a scolded younger sister. It was a little cute.
She didn’t want to say anything. She just wanted to sit there and quietly watch the person in front of her who now looked so apologetic. If only this morning had never happened. Everything would have felt so much better.
“You know I’ve dated a lot of people,” Meng Chuwu said, trying to explain. She really wanted to scream. She had been single her whole life. Why did getting pulled into this book come with so much baggage?
“But I’ve never permanently marked anyone.”
“Sister Wu,” Xi Xiaoyan said softly as she lowered her head. Her dark, silky hair looked smooth and soft, shining gently like strands of seaweed in the sunlight.
Once again, Meng Chuwu was struck by how beautiful she was. Her skin was flawless, her arms were delicate and graceful, her fingers were slender and smooth, and her feet were like polished jade. This girl felt like a fairy untouched by the world.
“I believe you.”
When Xi Xiaoyan looked up, Meng Chuwu quickly looked away, embarrassed that she had been staring so openly.
“I won’t let something like this happen again,” she began to promise.
“Sister Wu, kiss me. Please?”
Meng Chuwu froze. She was completely stunned.
Why wasn’t she angry?
She sniffed gently. There was no scent of pheromones. Xi Xiaoyan wasn’t in heat.
She was sure she hadn’t released any pheromones either. Then why was she acting like this?
“You don’t blame me?”
“That happened before we met, didn’t it?” Xi Xiaoyan gave her a gentle smile. Her eyes sparkled like stars. “You promised me that once we were together, you’d stay true. And you haven’t broken that promise, have you?”
Thinking about it, Meng Chuwu nodded.
“No, I haven’t.”
Before entering the room, Meng Chuwu had expected Xi Xiaoyan to react just like Chao Zhi, assuming she had lied about Liao Xuehui not being pregnant or that she had paid her off to keep quiet.
But now, seeing how things really were, Meng Chuwu realized that either Xi Xiaoyan truly didn’t mind the original Alpha’s past, or she was just too pure and trusting, unaware of how manipulative the Alpha could be and choosing to believe her every word.
“Sister Wu, don’t you want to kiss me?”
She really was relentless. Meng Chuwu’s heart began to race from her teasing.
This girl was someone’s wife. We’ve only known each other for less than a day.
If we keep kissing like this, I’m afraid I’ll fall for her completely.
Last night, she had been so bold. The moment she pinned her to the wall and kissed her was still fresh in Meng Chuwu’s mind.
“Don’t you feel disgusted by me?” Meng Chuwu was the one disgusted by the Alpha, not by the girl in front of her.
“No, I really like you,” Xi Xiaoyan said. Her eyes were clear and pure, like spring water.
You really like me?
No, you’re in love with the Alpha.
How did that woman, with all her mess, earn the love of someone this dazzling?
Meng Chuwu found it hard to meet her gaze. She was afraid that if she kept looking, she would surrender completely.
“You want me to ask for your forgiveness, don’t you?”
“Yes, I do.”
“Then kiss me, and I’ll forgive you halfway.”
Meng Chuwu felt that if she kept holding back, she’d seem insincere. So, playing along like she was in a scene, she gently tilted Xi Xiaoyan’s chin with practiced ease. She didn’t really understand why Xi Xiaoyan wanted her to kiss her at a time like this, but she knew that if she didn’t, this girl might cry.
And she didn’t want her to cry.
So, she kissed her.
Her lips were just as sweet as she had imagined.
Even though it was just a light touch, Xi Xiaoyan’s unique sweetness quickly stirred a warm, pleasant reaction deep in Meng Chuwu’s chest.
After she pulled away, Xi Xiaoyan said softly, “Let me kiss you too.”
Meng Chuwu felt completely powerless against her.
“Alright.”
“You didn’t close your eyes when you kissed me,” Xi Xiaoyan said, her cheeks now tinted with a faint blush.
“I wanted to look at you.”
“That’s fine too.”
Xi Xiaoyan rose to her knees on the bed, leaned in quickly, then suddenly stopped just before their lips met. She playfully bumped her nose against Meng Chuwu’s, then turned her head slightly and kissed her gently.
She didn’t pull away like Meng Chuwu had.
Their faces were so close that their eyes could barely focus. Meng Chuwu, who had made it to age twenty-six without ever losing her composure, felt so flustered she instinctively closed her eyes.
“Sister Wu, I really like kissing you.”
And just like that, Xi Xiaoyan pulled away.
For some reason, Meng Chuwu suddenly felt empty.
Her lips felt cold. Her heart felt hollow, as if something important had just been taken from her during that kiss.
“Really?” Meng Chuwu felt a little breathless.
Now she understood why the original Alpha had been willing to give up everything, walk away from the game, and step into marriage after meeting Xi Xiaoyan.
If this kept going, Meng Chuwu could feel her pheromones starting to stir out of control.
She still couldn’t tell whether last night had been the Alpha triggering Xi Xiaoyan’s heat, or if Xi Xiaoyan had initiated everything herself. When she transmigrated, her memories had gaps, and that part was completely missing.
But looking at the situation now, wasn’t Xi Xiaoyan the one doing all the flirting?
“You saying ‘really’ so calmly is disappointing. I don’t think I want to forgive you anymore.”
“You can’t be like this, Xi Xiaoyan.”
“Oh, right. Sister Wu,” Xi Xiaoyan tilted her head, blinked twice quickly, and asked with a mischievous glint in her eyes, “Did you like the little bee I drew on your n1pples this morning?”
