After Becoming a Scummy Alpha, the Movie Queen Just Wants to Pamper Her Wife (LILY, ABO) - Chapter 7
As expected, it really was her drawing.
While the true culprit acted completely unbothered, Meng Chuwu felt a wave of embarrassment for no clear reason.
“What bee?” She chose to forget what she saw on her chest when she lifted the blanket that morning.
“I don’t believe you didn’t see it.”
“I really don’t know what you’re talking about.” Acting was something Meng Chuwu was very good at.
Besides, she had already washed it off during her morning shower. There was no evidence left behind.
The calmer Xi Xiaoyan appeared about Liao Xuehui’s earlier outburst, the more anxious Meng Chuwu felt. She believed Xi Xiaoyan was doing it on purpose, pretending nothing unpleasant had happened.
That wasn’t good. Meng Chuwu didn’t want this to become a hidden issue between them.
Xi Xiaoyan pressed her lips together and paused, as if deep in thought.
Under the gaze of her clear, bright eyes, Meng Chuwu’s heart skipped a beat.
She didn’t realize just how much her body was drawn to the girl in front of her. For her sake, the once-flirtatious Alpha had been abstinent for quite a while. That was no small feat for someone like her.
“Sister Wu is lying,” Xi Xiaoyan said. Her tone wasn’t angry. Instead, it carried a soft, playful whine, the kind one uses with someone they care about.
“Why would I lie to you?”
“You’re always like this, playing hard to get, making me take the first step.”
Meng Chuwu said nothing.
Typical behavior for someone like her.
And she could tell that Xi Xiaoyan actually enjoyed this kind of interaction.
“I really didn’t see any bee.”
“I don’t believe you.” Xi Xiaoyan’s voice rose slightly, and her smile grew wider.
Meng Chuwu felt that if this continued, she really might fall for this girl.
Falling for someone in less than a day was already dramatic enough. And to make matters worse, this person was someone else’s wife. It was absurd, too unrealistic to believe.
But she knew her heart was racing honestly because of Xi Xiaoyan’s shy little expressions. Being with her truly felt like spring sunlight warming her soul.
This couldn’t go on.
“If you don’t believe me, I can’t help it.”
Xi Xiaoyan was too adorable. Looking into her eyes made Meng Chuwu feel like she should just confess that she had lied.
“Then prove it to me, Sister Wu.” Xi Xiaoyan knew that Meng Chuwu loved to play tricks and avoid direct answers.
“I can’t prove something that doesn’t exist. How can I prove something that didn’t happen?”
Suddenly, Meng Chuwu felt nervous. She saw Xi Xiaoyan’s eyes sparkle with mischief. It looked like she had already planned her next move.
“The answer is right here.” Xi Xiaoyan lifted her index finger, pointed toward the ceiling for dramatic effect, then quickly reached toward Meng Chuwu’s chest.
Her laughter rang out like a songbird in early spring.
Meng Chuwu tried not to laugh. “I really don’t understand what you’re talking about.”
Xi Xiaoyan’s eyes sparkled like stars. Just looking at her made people feel happy. And her smile was bright and full of life.
“You’re pretending.”
“You’re accusing your sister unfairly.”
The two of them went back and forth, completely forgetting about the unpleasantness earlier that morning.
“All right, then. Do you dare open your shirt?”
“Why would I open my shirt in the middle of the day?”
Meng Chuwu was unknowingly drawn into her rhythm. The words came out before she could stop them.
Fortunately, her reputation as a carefree Alpha allowed her to say anything without worrying about breaking character.
“See? Sister Wu, you finally admit you were lying.” Xi Xiaoyan reached out, pretending to undo her buttons.
“Hey, hey, what are you doing?” Meng Chuwu pretended to act like a shy, helpless girl. Acting came naturally to her.
“The bee I drew is right on your chest, Sister Wu.” Xi Xiaoyan ignored her resistance.
They started playfully wrestling, and eventually both of them tumbled onto the soft bed.
Just as Xi Xiaoyan was about to actually open her shirt, Meng Chuwu instinctively poked her in the side. Xi Xiaoyan was ticklish and quickly jumped back, laughing.
“Sister Wu, you…” Half lying down, Xi Xiaoyan pouted slightly. Her long black hair spilled around her, but she didn’t care.
“All right, all right. I admit I lied. But I already washed it off.”
“I knew it.” Xi Xiaoyan sat up straight and lightly punched the mattress with her small pale fist. “Sister Wu, how could you wash away the bee I worked so hard to draw? I’m so upset.”
“Are you sure it was a bee?”
“I’m sure, absolutely sure. It was a bee.”
“It was so big. It looked more like a hornet. It really scared me.”
“Hahaha.” Xi Xiaoyan covered her mouth as she laughed, bending over with joy. It took her a while to calm down. “Hornets don’t have stripes. I definitely drew a bee.”
“All right, all right. If you say it was a bee, then it was a bee.”
Meng Chuwu gave in. She couldn’t help it, not when Xi Xiaoyan was smiling so happily.
But deep down, she still thought the bee was drawn way too big.
“Well, it’s because Sister Wu’s chest is full. The bee’s head was so big, I couldn’t give it a tiny little body, right?”
Meng Chuwu didn’t know what to say. Thinking of the bee — or hornet — that had been drawn on her chest made her laugh.
“Sister Wu, I really love seeing you smile.”
“Is that so? Then I’ll smile more often.”
“I only want you to smile for me.”
“You sure ask for a lot.”
“You didn’t even ask me before washing off the bee I drew just for you.”
Why had the topic come back around again? Meng Chuwu sighed a little.
“It wasn’t appropriate to draw something in a place like that.”
“Nobody else can even see it.”
Meng Chuwu didn’t respond.
“If Sister Wu draws the bee back, I’ll let the morning incident go.”
Meng Chuwu could tell that Xi Xiaoyan was serious.
She was truly upset.
But she also genuinely wanted to forgive her.
So all this time, during the teasing and joking, had she been thinking of a way to give both of them a chance to step down gracefully?
She didn’t want to simply brush things off. But at the same time, they had just gotten married. It wasn’t the right moment to create a rift or damage their relationship.
That was when Meng Chuwu realized that this girl’s feelings for the scumbag Alpha were real.
They had truly married out of love.
In the original story, their love had come quickly and burned intensely, but it didn’t last long.
In any relationship, once one person lets go, the other cannot carry it alone. And especially not when the one making mistakes keeps hurting the other so recklessly.
“I really don’t know how to draw,” Meng Chuwu said, trying to sound sincere.
“Then I’ll do it,” Xi Xiaoyan giggled.
Just how much did this girl love drawing bees? Meng Chuwu felt a headache coming on. “Can we draw it somewhere else? Don’t you think that area is too soft to draw on?”
“No, I don’t think so. I did just fine this morning.”
Meng Chuwu went silent again.
How had she slept so soundly without noticing?
Only now did it hit her. This was the scumbag Alpha’s body. Did that mean her insomnia was gone?
While she was caught up in her thoughts, Xi Xiaoyan had already pulled out a pen from somewhere.
“Let’s draw it on the arm,” Meng Chuwu suggested, her voice not as firm as she wished. She was afraid that saying no too strongly would only make the girl angrier.
“No. It only counts if it’s drawn there. Besides, don’t you think your peach tip is the perfect shape for a bee’s head?”
Meng Chuwu was speechless.
It actually did suit it. To be fair, the one she drew this morning looked quite realistic.
She decided to give in. The important thing now was to calm Xi Xiaoyan down.
She didn’t really understand why she was so afraid of making her upset. Was it simply because she was worried that Xi Xiaoyan’s anger would trigger the cannon-fodder plotline from the original novel?
But wait. Athena, no, Axi, had said she was supposed to be the main character this time.
Meng Chuwu felt confused again.
Xi Xiaoyan was staring at her with big, round eyes, clearly waiting for her to unbutton her shirt.
“What are you staring at? Do it yourself.” That was the last bit of pride Meng Chuwu had left.
“Here I come, Sister Wu.” Xi Xiaoyan smiled as she crawled closer.
Meng Chuwu shifted slightly and glanced back. She estimated where the pillow was, then let herself fall backward so her head landed right on it.
“Actually, I was hoping you’d lie down,” Xi Xiaoyan said with a pleased little laugh.
She was very happy with Meng Chuwu’s cooperation.
This was what she liked. When Meng Chuwu let her get close, when she indulged her mischief and played along, Xi Xiaoyan could feel her love clearly.
Before their wedding, Meng Chuwu had said a lot of sweet words and made many promises. But to Xi Xiaoyan, the little things, the unspoken moments between them, mattered more.
“Right now, I’m not your sister. Just call me the fish on the cutting board.”
“All right, mermaid sister.”
Xi Xiaoyan unbuttoned her shirt and then, with practiced fingers, unclasped her bra.
Meng Chuwu was completely captivated by how pure and affectionate she looked. Her eyes didn’t have the slightest trace of lust. What filled them was the kind of warmth and playfulness that belonged only to lovers.
She could see it. Those eyes were filled with genuine affection.
For a moment, Meng Chuwu found herself hoping that Xi Xiaoyan could fall in love with who she really was.
Why did she love the scumbag Alpha so deeply? They had only known each other for just over a month.
