“I was also worried about this. She doesn’t tell me anything now, but this time I went to the parent-teacher meeting and met one of her friends. I got her phone number, so if something comes up later, I can ask her friend.” Zhao Xiuna said.

“Hmm, that’s all we can do now. You can call her friend and see where Yining has been lately.” Zhou Yuanfei said.

Meanwhile, Zhou Yining left home and headed to the bus stop. She left early, so she didn’t take a taxi.

Twenty minutes later, Zhou Yining arrived at the stop near Jiang Xianzhi’s villa district. She walked a long way inside before reaching the villa district.

After the security guard made a call to confirm, he let Zhou Yining into the neighborhood. Zhou Yining walked toward Villa 13. Sure enough, Jiang Xianzhi was already waiting in the living room. When she saw Zhou Yining, Jiang Xianzhi’s eyes lit up.

She ran toward Zhou Yining and hugged her tightly. Zhou Yining hugged her back, gently patting Jiang Xianzhi’s lower back.

After hugging for a while, Jiang Xianzhi noticed Zhou Yining was carrying a backpack. She stood up and glared at Zhou Yining.

Zhou Yining looked at her amusedly. “What’s wrong? Why so fierce with me?”

“You really brought your backpack?” Jiang Xianzhi pouted, sounding aggrieved.

“Hmm, I really need to do homework. I have a lot of other things to do, or I won’t have time.” Zhou Yining pulled her into a hug again, explaining softly.

“Fine then. Let’s go inside.” Jiang Xianzhi said, pulling Zhou Yining into the villa.

No one was home at Jiang Xianzhi’s house. She was on holiday, but her family’s company wasn’t.

After entering the villa, Zhou Yining dragged Jiang Xianzhi to the study. Though very reluctant, Jiang Xianzhi still did homework with Zhou Yining.

Zhou Yining barely looked at her, focusing entirely on the pile of papers, finishing one after another.

Jiang Xianzhi pouted but worked on her own homework too.

At ten o’clock, Zhou Yining felt tired and got up to stretch. Jiang Xianzhi finally had a chance to talk to her.

“Those two guys from your training class contacted our lawyer to settle, but I refused. I told them to keep fighting the lawsuit. Let’s drag it out since they bullied you.”

Zhou Yining leaned over with a smile, ruffling Jiang Xianzhi’s hair. “Good. Thanks for protecting me, my Zhizhi.”

Jiang Xianzhi’s ears turned red, but she raised her chin proudly. “Of course. You’re my person. I have to protect you.”

Her words amused Zhou Yining. Jiang Xianzhi glanced at her, dissatisfied. “What’s so funny?”

“Yes, yes, yes. I’ll rely on our young miss to protect me from now on.”

“I’m serious.” Jiang Xianzhi grabbed Zhou Yining’s wrist, acting coy.

Zhou Yining nodded seriously at her. “Hmm, I know you’ll protect me.”

“Oh, she’s upstairs doing homework with her friend.”

“Miss Zhou? Zhou Yining?” Shi Yuanyuan asked.

“Yes, that’s Miss Zhou.”

“Alright, we’ll go find Zhizhi ourselves.” Shi Yuanyuan said, giving Si Yaqing a look and pulling her upstairs.

The two whispered nonstop along the way.

“No way, Zhou Yining’s that close with Zhizhi behind our backs? That’s not okay.” Shi Yuanyuan said, annoyed.

“Exactly. Let’s go see what’s going on.”

They went to the second floor. Shi Yuanyuan knocked on Jiang Xianzhi’s study door before pushing it open.

“Zhizhi, we came to hang out. Want to go shopping later?” Shi Yuanyuan said as she entered the study, with Si Yaqing beside her.

Jiang Xianzhi didn’t expect them. She quickly said, “I’m not going. I have to do homework. No time.”

“What? There’s still over half a month before school starts. Why rush?” Si Yaqing said, surprised.

“Hmm, finish early, be done early.” Jiang Xianzhi didn’t want to do it, but she wanted to keep Zhou Yining company.

“Come on, it’s rare to have a break. It’s such a waste not to go out. There’s a new movie today that looks good. Want to watch it together?” Shi Yuanyuan suggested.

Zhou Yining put down her pen. “Sure, if you want to go, let’s go. We’ve been doing papers all day. It’s time to relax.”

Shi Yuanyuan reached out to stop them. No, they didn’t mean to invite Zhou Yining.

“Zhizhi, is she coming too?” Si Yaqing asked quietly.

“Yeah, where she goes, I go.” Jiang Xianzhi said matter-of-factly.

“Fine, I’ll buy one more ticket.” Shi Yuanyuan said. Their job was to keep the young miss happy, which was good for their families’ companies.

Since there were four of them, Jiang Xianzhi had the family driver take out a minivan so no one would feel cramped.

Zhou Yining and Jiang Xianzhi sat in the front row. As soon as Zhou Yining sat down, she felt a weight on her shoulder. The young miss was already leaning on her.

Seeing Zhou Yining look at her, Jiang Xianzhi, with red ears, explained, “I’m tired. Let me lean on you.”

“Okay, close your eyes and rest. I’ll wake you when we get there.”

Shi Yuanyuan and Si Yaqing in the back were stunned. They didn’t know when Jiang Xianzhi and Zhou Yining got so close.

Zhou Yining didn’t know what the two behind her were thinking. She held Jiang Xianzhi carefully to keep her from falling until they reached the mall.

Zhou Yining gently patted Jiang Xianzhi. “Zhizhi, we’re here.”

Zhou Yining looked at her amusedly. “Be good. We can cuddle more later, or we’ll miss the movie.”

Jiang Xianzhi turned around and jumped. “Why are you guys here?”

“Aren’t we here to watch a movie together?” Shi Yuanyuan replied weakly.

Jiang Xianzhi then remembered the other two. “Oh, right, I forgot. Let’s get off.”

She reached for Zhou Yining’s hand, and they got off the car hand-in-hand, leaving Shi Yuanyuan and Si Yaqing confused.

They felt like they were totally extra.

At the mall, Zhou Yining bought drinks for everyone. They got their tickets and waited in the theater.

Zhou Yining sat on the far left, next to Jiang Xianzhi, then Shi Yuanyuan, and Si Yaqing.

They watched a romantic comedy. The theater was quite full. Soon, the movie started, and Jiang Xianzhi leaned against Zhou Yining, who let her.

“Zhou Zhou, is your cold drink good? I want a sip.” Jiang Xianzhi leaned on her shoulder, acting coy.

“Okay, I’ll feed you.” Zhou Yining held her cup and brought the straw to Jiang Xianzhi’s lips. Jiang Xianzhi took a sip and nodded.

Zhou Yining obediently took a sip and nodded at the young miss. “Hmm, it’s good.”

The two sat close together. Zhou Yining felt like she wasn’t even watching the movie.

Shi Yuanyuan beside them was utterly shocked. The more she looked at Zhou Yining and Jiang Xianzhi, the more something seemed off. This didn’t look like regular friends. Were they a couple?

Si Yaqing nodded hard. “If they’re not together, I’ll eat that flowerpot on the floor.”

“I think so too. They’re way too close. But maybe not. We haven’t seen them kiss.” Shi Yuanyuan was still unsure.

“No, it’s obvious. Let’s find a chance to ask.” Si Yaqing said.

“Sure, I’m so curious.” Shi Yuanyuan really wanted to know their relationship.

Plus, if Jiang Xianzhi and Zhou Yining were really together, they could tell Jiang Yueyi, earning her favor, which would benefit their families’ companies.
