Lin Xiaoyu stretched out her right hand towards Sheng Yunjin, a satisfied smile on her face. “Xiao Jin, look, isn’t it pretty?”

Sheng Yunjin glanced at her hand. The girl had put rings on both her index and middle fingers at the shop assistant’s suggestion, hoping to boost her career.

With a helpless smile, Sheng Yunjin nodded in agreement. “Pretty, very pretty.”

Hearing the perfunctory tone, Lin Xiaoyu wrinkled her nose at her. But considering her best friend had accompanied her all day, she decided to generously forgive her.

“You should pick one too. You’ve been shopping with me all day and haven’t bought anything.”

Lin Xiaoyu rubbed the tip of her nose and leaned in to look as well. “What kind do you want? Just pick anything—I’ll buy it for you!”

Without looking up, Sheng Yunjin absently touched her bare fingers and said casually, “I don’t know. Maybe one that boosts romance? You’re boosting your career, I’ll boost my love life—how about that?”

Lin Xiaoyu nodded eagerly. “Great idea! Maybe I should pick another one too. I wouldn’t mind falling in love…”

Standing behind them, Si Mu, who had overheard almost their entire conversation, felt her expression shift repeatedly. She flexed her unconsciously clenched palm, then stepped forward with a composed smile.

The shop assistant attending to Sheng Yunjin and Lin Xiaoyu had noticed Si Mu’s arrival long ago. Seeing her approach now, she quickly greeted the company’s CEO. “President Si.”

Si Mu nodded before turning to Sheng Yunjin and Lin Xiaoyu, who had finally noticed her. “What can I help you with? I’m a designer at JM and can provide detailed recommendations.”

Lin Xiaoyu studied the woman before her with curiosity, her eyes brimming with admiration.

She had just heard the assistant address this woman as “President Si.” Lin Xiaoyu gazed at Si Mu in awe—her sleek pantsuit, high heels, and poised, professional demeanor.

This was exactly the kind of woman Lin Xiaoyu dreamed of becoming in the future!

Si Mu noticed the starry-eyed look from the woman beside Sheng Yunjin. Though unsure of its cause, it eased the jealousy that had been simmering within her.

Sheng Yunjin was surprised by Si Mu’s sudden appearance. After a brief pause, she cleared her throat softly and murmured, “Well… I was looking for a ring that might bring romantic luck.”

Si Mu glanced at her, smiling, then stepped closer to Sheng Yunjin’s side. She leaned down slightly, as if to offer more attentive service. But because Sheng Yunjin was seated, a mere tilt of her head revealed Si Mu’s hair—pinned up casually yet elegantly with a jade hairpin shaped like bamboo.

Si Mu continued her considerate questioning, tilting her head to glance at Sheng Yunjin, her voice soft and gentle. “Just the ring?”

Meeting her clear, water-like eyes, Sheng Yunjin unconsciously licked her lips before blurting out, “Well… necklaces, bracelets—anything works. You could pick out a whole set for me.”

Only belatedly realizing what she had said, Sheng Yunjin’s stunning face flushed instantly with heat.

Why did she make it sound like she was desperate to be in a relationship?

She had only casually mentioned wanting to boost her romantic luck earlier…

Si Mu quietly admired Sheng Yunjin’s blushing face for a moment, maintaining her warm and polite smile on the surface while secretly holding a grudge.

With a silent scoff in her heart, Si Mu glanced at the display case and signaled the clerk to bring out the plainest band ring from the side.

She turned to Sheng Yunjin and said with a smile, “If you want to attract romance, this ring is the most suitable.”

Both the clerk and Lin Xiaoyu, who had been watching the whole scene, were left utterly bewildered.

Lin Xiaoyu shot a puzzled look at Si Mu, then began worrying whether Sheng Yunjin, who was clearly being tricked so openly, might lose her temper over the deception.

But contrary to her expectations, Sheng Yunjin showed no trace of suspicion. She obediently extended her hand, letting Si Mu slide the ring onto her left index finger.

Si Mu glanced at her before adjusting the size and lifting Sheng Yunjin’s left hand. Her fingertips brushed briefly over the smooth skin as she slipped the exceptionally simple ring onto the slender, pale finger.

Sheng Yunjin raised her left hand to examine it, then smiled and asked Lin Xiaoyu, “Does it look good?”

Lin Xiaoyu hesitated before nodding. Oh well—maybe Xiao Jin just happened to like this style.
