After Being Bitten By Top-Tier O, Flop A Went Viral - Chapter 11
11: Showing Her Favor
“Third place, Yan Yuzhen, 85 points.”
“Yes! Passed!”
Yan Yuzhen jumped three feet high as if she had just won an Olympic gold medal. After receiving her test paper, she held it up three times like a trophy.
This time, even Mi Sike couldn’t hold back her laughter.
“Yan Yuzhen, please return to your seat.”
Qin Que noticed that although Jin Shuo followed along with the laughter, her hands on the desk were clenched tightly.
Was she worried about her own score?
She glanced at Yan Qing. The woman was already toying with an eraser at this point.
Not nervous at all.
“Fourth place, Jin Shuo, 79 points.”
Like a prisoner awaiting sentencing finally hearing the expected verdict, Jin Shuo forced a bitter smile. By the time she stood up, her face had already regained its usual cool demeanor.
“Don’t be upset, sis! I’ll teach you!” Yan Yuzhen wrapped an arm around Jin Shuo, who had returned to her seat and was staring silently at her test paper, trying to comfort her.
Jin Shuo didn’t look at her. She pushed her hand away, her voice icy and trembling, “Mind your own business!”
“You—!” Even with Yan Yuzhen’s typically carefree temper, she was starting to lose her patience.
Fortunately, Mi Sike was still dutifully carrying out her responsibilities.
“Fifth place, Yan Qing, 75 points.”
Although everyone already knew Yan Qing’s score wouldn’t be high, they couldn’t help but look over when it was announced.
After all, Yan Qing seemed like… the kind of person who exuded an otherworldly, genius-like aura.
Even now, she stood up leisurely to retrieve her test paper, showing no intention of salvaging her precarious image of intelligence.
“Want to take a look?” Noticing Qin Que’s gaze, she casually handed the paper over.
“Mm, thanks.” Qin Que skimmed through it and realized Yan Qing had scored full marks on all the Chinese questions, including reading comprehension, but most of the math questions were left blank.
A weak subject?
She folded the paper and handed it back, hesitating for a long time before finally uttering, “It’s okay.”
She genuinely meant it. Even if Yan Qing had scored zero, it wouldn’t change the fact that she was an incredible actor.
Looking at the alpha’s earnest expression, Yan Qing felt a little dazed.
Qin Que probably didn’t even notice her milky scent of pheromones thickening slightly, drifting toward her.
Showing her favor.
Yan Qing knew Qin Que was sincere. Though she initially felt no need to explain herself, her resolve wavered slightly.
But she didn’t like exposing her scars. In the end, she just teased,
“I didn’t study much math in high school—it dragged me down. You won’t look down on me, will you?”
The alpha shook her head solemnly, her gaze as firm as an oath. “Never.”
Yan Qing found it amusing yet endearing in its sincerity. She could only nod. “Good.”
The live chat wasn’t as harmonious as the scene on set. Some toxic fans of the other guests, who had long been resentful of Yan Qing’s dominance, seized the opportunity to attack.
Comment 1: Oh wow, I thought Actress Yan was some kind of genius. Turns out she’s just another slacker, huh?
Comment 2: Do you understand the weight of being second-to-last?
Comment 3: And she doesn’t even seem remorseful.
Comment 4: Why should she be? She never marketed herself as a genius. You’re just setting up your own targets to knock down—quite the self-entertainment.
Comment 5: Besides, aside from Qin Que, none of the others have the right to laugh at her. With the difficulty of that test, a difference of a dozen points is just fifty steps laughing at a hundred.
Comment 6: Qin Que said it’s okay. The way she looks at Yan Qing is so sweet—she aced the test but still gazes at her with admiration. I’m starting to ship them.
Comment 7: Did you not see Yan Qing’s answers earlier? She left most of the math questions blank, but the ones she did answer were all correct. She’s just weak in one subject—definitely not a slacker.
Comment 8: Stop arguing. She’s just weak in math. I looked up Yan Qing’s admission scores for Mengda’s acting program. If her math scores had matched her other subjects, she could’ve competed for the top spot that year.
Comment 9: Qin Que actually studied electrical engineering at Yunda? A real academic ace. I had no idea she wasn’t even from an acting background.
Comment 10: Yan Qing finished the test in half an hour and still scored 75. Meanwhile, some people brag about being young talents and rising stars, yet they submitted their papers at the last minute and still…
“Sixth place, Dai Yuchen, 70 points.”
Dai Yuchen’s face darkened as if it could drip water. He stood up with a loud thud, shaking the desk, stomped to the podium to snatch his test paper, and returned to his seat with another loud bang.
Qin Que heard Yan Yuzhen mutter under her breath, “If you did poorly, just accept it. Why take it out on the desk? No manners.”
She glanced worriedly at Nie Sijun, who was shrinking away from Dai Yuchen, her face pale.
“Alright, the scores have all been announced. Now, I’ll reveal the punishment,” Mi Sike continued, seeing that no fight had broken out. She snapped her fingers, and two staff members entered the room carrying trays.
One tray held empty cups, while the other held several beverages.
Just from the deep green color of the liquid and its thick, sluggish consistency, it was clear this drink would offer a rich sensory experience.
“This is a health drink made primarily from bitter melon and blended with various beneficial vegetables,” Mi Sike said, holding up a cup like a salesperson. “Those who scored below 80 need to drink one cup each. Of course, if a teammate wants to share the burden, you can split one cup between two people. However,” she added teasingly, “if someone wants to play the hero and save the beauty, they’ll have to drink two cups.”
Before she even finished speaking, Dai Yuchen stood up again with a loud noise, strode to the podium, downed a cup in one gulp, and slammed the cup back onto the podium with a sharp clatter.
Nie Sijun flinched.
Jin Shuo also stood up. Yan Yuzhen, still sulking, didn’t say a word, so Jin Shuo silently walked to the podium alone.
“Hey, you—you!” Yan Yuzhen pointed at her but didn’t get a chance to speak before Jin Shuo had already finished drinking, furrowing her brows and returning to her seat without a word.
“Hmph!” Yan Yuzhen turned away, still fuming.
“Seems like no one’s keen on sharing the burden,” Yan Qing remarked lightly in the tense atmosphere, her voice like a breath of fresh air. She winked at Qin Que. “I don’t like the taste of that stuff. Would you be willing to share some with me?”
“Of course,” Qin Que agreed without hesitation.
The two became the first pair to “share the burden,” splitting half a cup each.
Yan Qing eyed the green liquid clinging to the sides of the cup, her lips twitching slightly.
She could already smell the earthy, vegetal aroma.
Just as she held her breath and prepared to drink, a slender, bony hand suddenly shot out and pressed against her wrist, stopping her.
Yan Qing turned her head and saw Qin Que already drinking.
The alpha’s face scrunched up in obvious distaste.
But she drank quickly, gulping it down in a few mouthfuls before hurriedly taking Yan Qing’s cup as well.
Another few gulps.
“Hey—”
Before Yan Qing could stop her, Qin Que had already set down the empty cup and picked up a full one, chugging it down.
Setting the cup aside, Qin Que clamped a hand over her mouth, trembling slightly, her eyes reddening.
After downing so much in one go, her stomach churned violently, filled with the harsh bitterness.
She was terrified that if she opened her mouth, she’d vomit.
After a long moment, she finally dared to lower her hand, her voice hoarse.
“I finished it. Yan… Yan Qing doesn’t have to drink anymore.”
