After Being Bitten By Top-Tier O, Flop A Went Viral - Chapter 13
13: So Adorable
Yan Qing had imagined that Qin Que might be moved, but she never expected her to apologize.
Yet after saying those words, Qin Que hung her head in silence, lost in her own melancholy.
At that moment, Mi Sike announced that the day’s tasks had concluded. The remaining time could be used by the guests to retrieve their necessary luggage from the dispatch room and return to their dormitories to settle in. Dinner was already prepared in the cafeteria.
On the way to fetch their luggage, Qin Que was still pondering how to interact with Yan Qing.
Whenever she got close to Yan Qing, her thoughts would inevitably wander, and her body’s reactions became particularly noticeable.
But she didn’t want that.
She didn’t want to offend Yan Qing again, even if the other woman remained unaware.
Yet, fate had thrown them into a dating show—she couldn’t just avoid Yan Qing forever, could she?
Yan Qing glanced sideways at the alpha deep in thought beside her, who was meticulously maintaining a half-meter distance.
She took a small step toward Qin Que.
Qin Que didn’t look up but instinctively shuffled a step further away.
…
What was she hiding from?
Yan Qing felt a twinge of irritation but sensed that now wasn’t the right time for a conversation, forcing herself to suppress the urge to ask.
Fortunately, the two pairs ahead of them were faring even worse.
Dai Yuchen strode ahead while Nie Sijun hurried after him, already slightly out of breath.
Yan Yuzhen and Jin Shuo weren’t even walking together. When Jin Shuo left, Yan Yuzhen was still sulking in her seat, and Jin Shuo merely glanced back before silently walking away without a word.
Compared to those two pairs, their seemingly distant dynamic still looked sweet by contrast.
The six of them retrieved their luggage from the dispatch room one after another, collected their school uniforms for changing, and returned to their assigned dormitories.
After all, this was a variety show, not an actual high school experience. The production team didn’t go out of their way to torture the guests physically. The three dorm rooms had been renovated into a university dormitory style—bunk beds with desks below, equipped with bathrooms and balconies.
The dormitory was a private area. Once guests entered, the follow-up cameras would automatically go dormant, and the live stream would switch to fixed shots inside the dormitory. After 10 p.m., filming would cease entirely until 8 a.m. the next morning.
“Teacher Yan, you choose first.” Qin Que reached the dormitory door first and politely stepped aside, gesturing for Yan Qing to enter.
Yan Qing nearly laughed in exasperation.
With the way she was being addressed as “Teacher Yan” and “you,” anyone who didn’t know better would think this was a tutoring session, not a dating show.
But she had a rough idea why Qin Que was acting this way.
Amusing, yet frustrating.
Not wanting to add to the other’s psychological burden, she chose the left bunk and began unpacking her things without another word. Behind her, she heard the alpha let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Yan Qing: “…”
Still, it was undeniably annoying.
By the time both had finished arranging their beds, the once stark and impersonal dormitory had taken on a livelier atmosphere—albeit one sharply divided.
Qin Que’s bed had a plain gray bedsheet set, and her desk held nothing but a black mug, tissues, and wet wipes.
Yan Qing’s bed, on the other hand, was decked out in a light gold set with large floral prints on the comforter and pillow, alongside a half-person-sized bear plushie. Her desk was cluttered with a cat-patterned mug, a mirror, a nightlight, a fox figurine, and an assortment of quirky knickknacks—each so bizarrely designed that their purpose was anyone’s guess.
The live chat was stunned.
Comment 1: Just looking at these two desks, I’d think Qin Que was 35 and Yan Qing was, at most, 15.
Comment 2: Finally figured out what Yan Qing packed in that 1.5-meter suitcase. Kinda cute, sis.
Comment 3: Immediately searching for Yan Qing’s merch on Taobao.
Comment 4: Feels like this woman shops off a “Most Pointless Items” list. I was in awe when she pulled tissues out of that frog’s mouth.
Comment 5: The vibe between these two is kinda weird now—suddenly so distant.
Comment 6: Same. Yan Qing’s heartfelt speech had me emotional. I thought we’d see them embrace passionately, but instead, it’s just awkward.
Comment 7: Did some calculations—”Too deep a love cannot last; too great a kindness becomes a grievance.” The problem lies with Qin Que. She probably thinks she’s unworthy of Yan Qing.
Comment 8: Damn, that’s deep. Suddenly, it’s kinda sweet again.
Comment 9: Keep shipping! Who ships harder than you guys? Qin Que’s already embarrassed about leeching off Yan Qing, and you’re still at it!
Qin Que was also taken aback by the sheer variety on Yan Qing’s desk, her gaze lingering on the fox figurine.
The plump white fox sat upright, smiling with narrowed eyes, its large ears perked up alertly and its fluffy tail curled in front—looking clever and adorable.
Somehow, it reminded her of Yan Qing…
Qin Que stared until she zoned out, only snapping back when a fair, slender hand picked up the fox and offered it to her.
“Like it?”
Behind the grinning fox was Yan Qing’s smiling face.
Even more similar now.
Qin Que instinctively took a step back, nodding blankly.
“Even if you like it, I’m not giving it to you.” The woman huffed lightly and set the fox back down before walking away.
Qin Que stood frozen for a moment, a single thought flashing through her mind.
Yan Qing’s tone just now… was so adorable.
She smacked her forehead.
No overthinking. Absolutely no overthinking.
