After Breaking Up, I Shared an Apartment With My Best Friend and Her Boyfriend (H) - 51
Chapter 51: She Just Got Pleasured by a Man
Xu Yanqi was the one who finally opened the door for Wen Sui. By then, the entryway had been tidied up spotless. There was no splashed lewd water on the floor, nor the dropped raincoat, and even the shoes Chen Qiao often wore when going out had been hidden away.
The moment Xu Yanqi opened the door, Wen Sui stood outside, staring blankly at the man who had changed into casual clothes. The shirt on his upper body was the very one she had picked out for him earlier in the room.
The expression on her face shifted from blank to a touch of surprise, and finally a smile began to show. She threw her arms around the man in front of her.
“Xu Yanqi, I’m sorry.”
She lowered her head to admit her mistake, her whole body clinging tightly to him.
Wen Sui, who always came across as cool and distant to outsiders, also had someone who fascinated her, someone she was willing to drop her aloofness for.
Xu Yanqi was that man Wen Sui could never resist, no matter what.
“Have you eaten?”
Xu Yanqi gave her some face and asked her that.
Wen Sui sniffed, and she handed him the umbrella in her hand. The umbrella wasn’t wet at all, which meant she had just stayed in this building and hadn’t gone anywhere.
“I haven’t eaten. Xu Yanqi, I want to eat the food you make. I’m so hungry.”
Xu Yanqi frowned a bit. He put the umbrella on the shoe cabinet and wrapped his arm around her shoulders to head out.
“I’ll take you out to eat.”
Wen Sui was immediately puzzled. She asked Xu Yanqi, not quite understanding, “Didn’t we order takeout? Aren’t we eating at home?”
Xu Yanqi gave a brief explanation. “The takeout’s canceled. It’s pouring rain; they can’t deliver. I’ll drive you out to eat.”
With that said, Wen Sui didn’t think too much about it and just followed Xu Yanqi. It was only after the door closed that she remembered Chen Qiao, and she asked another question.
“By the way, what about Qiaoqiao? I called her, but she didn’t pick up. Did she go to work?”
When Xu Yanqi heard her ask about Chen Qiao, his face grew a little unnatural. He responded to her without any emotion.
Later, once Xu Yanqi quietly sent a message to Chen Qiao—”We’re in the elevator.”
—that was when Chen Qiao came out of her own room. At that moment, her face was flushed and dewy fresh. Having just been moistened by the man once made her features glow with radiance, charming and alluring like a peach blossom.
She took out her lipstick and reapplied it to her lips. Then she walked to the entryway, took out the hidden shoes, and slipped them on. After that, she grabbed the raincoat and the umbrella by the door, replied to Xu Yanqi’s message, and walked straight out that door.
Xu Yanqi received Chen Qiao’s message while he was starting the car in the underground parking lot. Her message popped up on his phone screen.
“Okay, I’m heading out.”
Xu Yanqi glanced down at it, and a slight flutter stirred in his heart, just like the usual routine when he got home from work and she went out to work.
Chen Qiao would always politely tell him, “I’m heading out.”
Thinking of that, a knowing smile faintly appeared on Xu Yanqi’s face. That feeling was like being brushed by a spring breeze. For the first time, his heart filled with a peace and serenity he had never known.
He knew it was Chen Qiao’s presence that had added this splash of color to his life, making him often unable to help but feel happy.
The exhaustion from arguing with Wen Sui had also scattered away with the wind, all because of her involvement, so easily.
Xu Yanqi drove the Land Rover out of the parking lot. Just as he turned the corner to the exit, even though visibility was very low outside the car window because of the smog and his view had turned blurry, that casual glance still made Xu Yanqi notice Chen Qiao coming out of the side building unit.
At that moment, the woman was draped in a white raincoat, holding a matching white umbrella. In this downpour, she stood out especially.
She was forced to huddle in the misty haze, her whole body straining forward with effort. Torrents of water crashed down on her umbrella, almost overwhelming her lone figure.
For some reason, that sight left Xu Yanqi with an uncomfortable twinge in his chest.
It was like accidentally tasting a sip of sour, bitter lemon juice, making him furrow his brow. So he suddenly drove the car out of the exit and pulled over right there.
“Tell your best friend to get in the car. The rain’s too heavy.”
With those words, Wen Sui, who had been playing a game in the passenger seat, looked puzzled right away. It wasn’t until she glanced at the side rearview mirror that she noticed the familiar figure gradually approaching in the mirror.
