After Cat A Saved the Wrong Female Lead - Chapter 12
Chapter 12: “I Won’t Let You Lose Out.”
Tang Li used a bit of effort to gently shift the Omega from her arms onto the bed, even lifting the blanket to make it easier for her to sit more comfortably.
Only the bedside reading lamp was turned on in the room, casting a warm glow over a small corner. Tang Li’s hotel room was very tidy — even though she’d been staying there for two days, she was the kind of guest the housekeeping staff barely needed to clean up after. On the desk sat a laptop and a Bluetooth keyboard. Her thermos cup was a soft moon-white, topped with an adorable panda-head lid — full of girlish charm.
Tang Li had only just washed her hands and dried them when she returned to check on Qin Shiyang — only to find the Omega had already removed her own socks, revealing fair, jade-like feet. She was leaning against the headboard, looking at Tang Li. In that instant, a phrase came to Tang Li’s mind: beauty under the lamp.
The soft lighting illuminated the woman’s jet-black hair, making it gleam even more. Her face, slightly pale from the injury, now carried a delicate, fragile charm. Though her slender ankle showed no visible injuries, the moment Tang Li touched it, she heard her stifle a quiet gasp of pain and quickly pulled her hand back.
“Should I call a doctor for you?”
Tang Li wasn’t good at treating injuries. She could manage some basic first aid for superficial wounds, but a twisted ankle with no external sign of injury — she had no idea how to handle that.
After she asked, the Omega gave her a sideways glance.
“Who’s that fragile? Twisted my ankle, and I should be calling 911?” As soon as she said that, Qin Shiyang lifted her foot slightly from the edge of the bed and started massaging it herself. The beauty leaned lazily against a pillow, her dark eyes locking onto Tang Li’s. Her voice floated like mist, “Tang Li, I’m a little hungry. Aren’t you hungry too?”
Hungry?
That question couldn’t have been better aimed — especially at someone like Tang Li, whose meals had been irregular lately.
Her gaze had originally been focused on Qin Shiyang’s ankle, but as soon as she heard that question, she quickly pulled it back, nodding honestly. She even heard her stomach growl in protest. Running into the female lead like this on a business trip felt like fate — a rare stroke of luck. And since the other party was actively asking her for help, every little thing she could do now would build up her own value — her bargaining chips for survival.
Tang Li thought about that and felt a wave of satisfaction wash over her. She wasn’t someone who could hide her emotions — joy lit up her face like a warm, colorful wind chime on a branch in early summer.
“What do you want to eat?”
She asked Qin Shiyang, who seemed to think seriously for a moment before answering:
“Something… you like?”
What Tang Li liked? That list was endless.
In her mind, dishes like spicy crawfish, skewers, barbecue, hotpot, rice noodles, and pan-fried tofu all made a quick round. It was a little past 9 p.m. — the perfect time for night markets to be in full swing, bustling all the way until midnight. There was no fear of not finding something delicious.
But bringing that kind of food into a hotel room would definitely kill the vibe. For example, rice noodles — sipping hot broth with green onions and pickled mustard right after cooking on-site was completely different from eating a soggy, clumped-up version after delivery.
After thinking for a moment, Tang Li quickly went downstairs. About ten minutes later, she returned with a large bag filled with a chaotic assortment — instant ramen cups, braised eggs, ham, vacuum-packed chicken legs, and chicken feet. She had even picked up a bag containing some anti-swelling gel packs.
Tang Li placed the items on the table and walked over to Qin Shiyang with the medicine.
“Xiao Yu, do you want to apply the medicine yourself, or should I help you?”
Her clear voice rose slightly at the end, carrying a rare sweetness for an Alpha — soft but not artificial.
Qin Shiyang seemed lost in thought, pausing a moment before answering. The girl knelt on one knee, naturally using her leg as a support, one hand gripping the Omega’s calf through her clothing as she carefully applied the medicine, asking gently where it hurt.
The cool gel glided over her skin, gently massaged in until fully absorbed. Tang Li treated the task with patience, ensuring the ointment was thoroughly absorbed before lowering her leg with care. Then, noticing the Omega felt a bit cold, she leaned in and blew warm air over her ankle several times.
Now it was Qin Shiyang’s turn to tense up.
She felt the warm breath brushing over her ankle, turning her normally indifferent skin hypersensitive. She instinctively clenched the bedsheet to fight off the ticklish, electric sensation that raced through her bl00d like a current. Her glands, suppressed under an inhibitor patch, stirred as if trying to break free — the primal urge to release pheromones threatening to burst forth.
To help the medicine absorb better, Tang Li had shifted from holding her calf to gripping her ankle, focusing intently. Even without any special effort to dress up, the Alpha — with her clear eyes and bright smile — looked refreshingly clean and attractive.
The entire process of applying the medicine didn’t take long, yet under the slow rhythm, it felt like an eternity. By the time Qin Shiyang snapped out of it, Tang Li had already tidied up. She flexed her ankle gently and apologized softly:
“Sorry, it’s my clumsy fault — making so much trouble for you.”
“No worries,” Tang Li replied casually, her gaze now fixed on the pile of food, no longer looking at Qin Shiyang. “What do you want to eat, Xiao Yu? I’ll make it for you.”
For someone like Qin Shiyang, who was used to a certain lifestyle, instant noodles were considered junk food — long banned by her assistant and nutritionist. But she’d been through hard times before and wasn’t the picky type, so when she said “whatever,” she really meant it.
So Tang Li made her a bowl of tonkotsu-flavored instant ramen with a braised egg, opened a small pack of duck neck bones, soy chicken leg, and tofu, and arranged it all on a disposable tray — just enough for the two of them to share.
Soon, the pungent aroma of ramen filled the room, masking the subtle scent of pheromones. As she stirred the noodles with a fork, Tang Li finally let out a barely noticeable breath of relief.
They ended up having quite an enjoyable meal.
Afterwards, Tang Li took the initiative to throw out the trash, opened the windows and air purifier. Ten minutes later, the room was completely aired out. While she was downstairs, Tang Li thought — the injury didn’t seem that serious. Now that she’d applied the medicine and fed her, wasn’t it about time for her to go back?
Sure enough, after a bit more chatting, the Omega occupying half of Tang Li’s bed finally started showing signs of sleepiness. Delighted, Tang Li decided to go all in on playing the Good Samaritan — she carried her back to her room.
Since both rooms were on the same floor, the layout was nearly identical. Tang Li tucked her into bed, covered her with a blanket, and just as she was about to leave, a soft voice floated toward her like a small hook pulling her back.
She hadn’t noticed it earlier, but now that they were in her room, the Omega’s scent seemed to permeate the air — no matter where she turned, it was there. Instead of becoming desensitized, Tang Li only found it more tempting. Back on her home turf, Qin Shiyang called her name again, her enunciation crisp like a fruit candy soaked in springtime air. Yet behind that gentleness lurked something dangerous — completely unnoticed by Tang Li.
“Are you this nice to everyone?”
It wasn’t a hard question to answer. Tang Li turned around to look at her, honestly giving the perfect response:
“Of course not. Only to you!”
To be fair, if someone got hurt in front of her, she’d definitely help them up. But carrying them into her own room, getting them food, running around like this — that wasn’t something she’d normally do. She didn’t have that much free time or energy.
“Well then, kind Miss Tang Li, would you be interested in making a deal with me?” Qin Shiyang leaned in slightly, her breath soft and fragrant, her tone playful yet sly.
“I promise you won’t lose out.”
