- After Clinging to a Big Shot, the Pitiful Omega Got Pregnant
- Chapter 10 - I Can Only Follow Mr. Fu
Chen Xi was sure he was drunk and hallucinating. How else could he be in his own mansion and see someone standing on the wall, only to then hear a “plop” as they jumped into the lake?
The sky was too dark for him to see clearly, but he could vaguely make out a figure struggling before sinking.
Sinking?
Sinking!
Chen Xi instantly sobered up. A string of curses ran through his mind. “Damn it, which son of a b1tch dares to seek death on my property?” If this person died, it would make headlines tomorrow, and his grand mansion’s reputation would be ruined. How would he make money then?
He immediately called the security room, telling them to hurry and fish the person out.
He wanted to see who had the audacity to cross him, Chen, the young master. He had already decided to beat the person half to death, then throw them in a labor camp to pedal a sewing machine for three to five years to vent his anger.
When they pulled the person out, Chen Xi was stunned.
A thin, scrawny youth, face as pale as paper, eyes tightly shut, lay quietly on the floor of the pavilion. He was very still. After two forceful abdominal compressions from the security captain, the youth’s mouth spewed out a mouthful of water, and he began to cough violently.
Ji Xia coughed until he was dizzy. After he finally recovered, his moist eyes slowly focused, and he saw the gloomy-faced doctor standing in front of him. A little light sparked in his eyes, and he asked in a hoarse voice, “Dr. Chen, do you know where Mr. Fu is?”
Chen Xi stared at him without a word.
Ji Xia said, “Mr. Fu told me to get out of the car to buy water. I was too slow, and Mr. Fu left. I’ve bought the water.” He looked around his waist, patted himself down, but the bottled water was gone.
Ji Xia’s eyelids trembled violently. He had messed up again.
When Fu Yuan sent him a message, Chen Xi was certain. Ji Xia was a master manipulator, a high-level “white lotus” who perfectly feigned innocence and naivety. He was sent to Fu Yuan by Jian Qinghe, and his motive was as clear as day.
But now, looking at the wretched, pitiful, and pathetic little thing sitting on the ground, he wavered.
If he hadn’t been in a bad mood, choked by Young Master Zhao, and decided to come out to sober up and vent, this little thing would have drowned after jumping in.
His mansion had strict security, but it wasn’t an impenetrable fortress. With a little effort, anyone could get in. There was no need to take such a risk and put your life on the line.
This wasn’t some high-level “white lotus”; this was a pure idiot.
Chen Xi grumbled, “You’re sick!”
Ji Xia had never seen Dr. Chen so angry. He just stared with his big, black-and-white eyes, not daring to speak.
Chen Xi walked over, crouched down in front of him, and his expression grew serious. “Little thing, when Fu Yuan told you to get out of the car, you had already lost your chance. I know Fu Yuan well. You’ve been removed from his list. If you insist on clinging to him and annoy him, he can make your life a living hell.”
Ji Xia said, “Mr. Fu said he would give me two days. Today isn’t over yet.”
Chen Xi was so exasperated by this stubborn little fool that he laughed.
He asked, “Do you like Fu Yuan that much?”
Ji Xia replied, “I have to stay by Mr. Fu’s side.”
Chen Xi stared at him for a while, then said, “I can take you to see him, but you have to listen to me.”
Ji Xia’s moist eyes lit up at the words. They were exceptionally beautiful.
He nodded, promising, “I’ll listen to everything you say, Dr. Chen.”
Chen Xi awkwardly turned his head and stood up. “Let’s go. I’ll take you to change clothes first.”
Ji Xia was led into a room filled with large wardrobes. Chen Xi told him he could pick any outfit he liked. Ji Xia was dazzled and was hesitating over which one to choose when a familiar electronic voice sounded in his mind.
“Host, Fu Boss’s favorability is enough for you to open the wardrobe once. As long as you ensure the keywords are correct this time, the system will definitely fulfill your request. The system guarantees this on the honor of being the best system in the System Bureau for twenty years.”
Ji Xia was a bit hesitant. After all, if something went wrong again, he would be completely done for.
“Host, if you don’t open the system’s wardrobe, your current state makes it impossible to impress Fu Boss. The result will be another failed attempt to latch on to him. Only by trusting the system is there hope.”
Ji Xia was silent for a while before finally speaking. “Open the wardrobe.”
“Roger! Please provide the keywords, Host.”
Ji Xia thought for a moment and said seriously, “Rich people’s party, high-end, expensive… career-oriented.”
“Keywords have been collected! Dressing countdown: fifteen minutes.”
Ji Xia felt uneasy. He first slowly went to take a shower, then sat in the dressing room wrapped in a towel, waiting. This time, he had to make sure he saw the clothes clearly before going out.
He heard Chen Xi’s voice from outside. Ji Xia “jumped” to his feet and replied, “I’ll be ready soon, Dr. Chen, please wait a moment for me.”
Ji Xia waited a while longer on pins and needles until he heard the “0” from his mind.
He immediately looked down. He was wearing a simple, decent black evening dress.
Ji Xia breathed a sigh of relief and pushed the door open. “Sorry to keep you waiting, Dr. Chen.”
Chen Xi was a little impatient. He turned around, ready to scold the little thing, but when he saw him, he froze. Just by changing clothes, the little thing seemed to have transformed into a different person.
Ji Xia tilted his head in confusion. “Dr. Chen, aren’t we going?”
The tips of Chen Xi’s ears were suspiciously red. He didn’t answer Ji Xia’s question. Instead, he took a step closer and suddenly said, “Xia Xia, stop thinking about Fu Yuan. He won’t cherish you. Come with me, I’ll take good care of you.”
The Alpha was a bit too close, making Ji Xia uncomfortable. He raised his hand to push Chen Xi’s shoulder. “Dr. Chen, I can’t. I can only follow Mr. Fu.”
Chen Xi stepped back with a hint of disappointment. “It seems my charm isn’t enough. Xia Xia, don’t get hung up on one tree. Besides Fu Yuan, there are many other trees in the forest. You should pick one who knows how to care for someone tonight.”
Ji Xia didn’t understand what Dr. Chen meant. Those were wealthy young masters and ladies, not discounted potatoes at a supermarket. How could he possibly be in a position to choose?
However, he didn’t ask any questions. That didn’t matter. Besides Mr. Fu, he had no other options.
Ji Xia followed Chen Xi into a large villa and went up to the card room on the second floor.
When they entered, everyone in the room was gathered around the card table and didn’t notice them.
Ji Xia spotted Fu Yuan at once.
Even among so many handsome Alphas, Mr. Fu was the best-looking one. His profound features and cold, noble demeanor made everything around him fade into insignificance.
A huge pile of chips was stacked in front of Fu Yuan; he was the big winner tonight.
After a round, the dealer pushed all the chips toward him again.
“Haha, I told you not to play cards with President Fu. Now you know how powerful he is, right?”
Chen Xi spoke with a triumphant air, raising an eyebrow at Zhao Kuo, who was sitting across from Fu Yuan.
Everyone’s attention was drawn by his voice, and they turned to look. A friend who was about to tease him about his short-lived escapade saw the Omega behind him and couldn’t help but whistle. “Axi, where did you find such a beautiful Omega?”
Chen Xi glanced at Fu Yuan, who looked completely normal and didn’t even spare them a glance. He smiled and said, “Found him on the road. He’ll go with whoever makes the highest bid tonight.”
As soon as Chen Xi finished speaking, Ji Xia felt countless scorching gazes fall upon him, a sticky feeling that made him break out in goosebumps.
He said anxiously, “I’m here to find Mr. Fu.”
He quickly walked over to Fu Yuan and handed him the bottle of mineral water he had picked up downstairs. “Mr. Fu, I bought… I brought the water.”
Fu Yuan said coldly, “I don’t need it.”
Ji Xia stood rooted to the spot, holding the bottled water. He wanted to say something to make Mr. Fu keep him, but he didn’t know what to say to achieve his goal. His forehead began to sweat in frustration.
Chen Xi sensed Fu Yuan’s displeasure and took a step forward, ready to pull the person away. Just then, a steady voice came from across the table.
“I happen to need a bottle of water. Give it to me.”
The onlookers’ heads all swiveled in a new direction, toward the Alpha who had spoken—the Crown Prince of the Zhao family.
The three major powers in the capital were the Fu, Qiu, and Zhao families. Thirty years ago, the love-hate drama between the three crown princes caused a sensation throughout the entire city.
Although everyone sitting there was of a younger generation, they knew a bit about it. Since the Fu and Qiu families had an alliance through marriage, their relationship with the Zhao family had become very hostile. Although things had eased somewhat after Fu Yuan took control, the relationship between Zhao Kuo and Fu Yuan had soured again because of Fu Yuan’s half-brother.
Chen Xi had no choice but to organize this gathering. The purpose of inviting Fu Yuan was to restrain Zhao Kuo.
That young master from the Zhao family was arrogant and unruly, but he was someone Chen Xi truly couldn’t afford to offend.
He frowned slightly, not understanding what this young master was up to now.
As for him being interested in Ji Xia, Chen Xi didn’t believe it. Everyone in the circle knew that Prince Zhao chased Fu Su from China to abroad, and then from abroad back to China. In the last two years, he hadn’t had anyone by his side, completely changing his ways to pursue true love.
He wouldn’t do something just to spite Fu Yuan; if he took the Omega away tonight, Fu Su would never speak to him again.
He could only find a reason to stay silent and wait to see what happened.
Ji Xia also looked over in the direction of the voice. When he saw that aggressive face, his breath hitched, and all the bl00d in his body froze. It was Zhao Kuo, the “scumbag top” number one from the book.
