- After Clinging to a Big Shot, the Pitiful Omega Got Pregnant
- Chapter 26 - The Sixth Outfit
Jiao Mubai followed for a while and saw two Alphas stop walking ahead. At that spot, there were already a few Alphas and a few Omegas standing around.
Everyone had their backs turned, so he couldn’t see their expressions. But Jiao Mubai had a hunch that something interesting was about to happen, and he unconsciously quickened his pace.
Fu Su was lost in his fantasies when the noise up ahead reached his ears. He frowned slightly, lifting his eyelids in annoyance to glance over. Among the people gathered, he spotted Zhao Kuo. A bad premonition instantly rose in his chest.
He wanted to stop Jiao Mubai from going any further, but it was too late. Jiao Mubai had already seen the Omega standing in front of a large tree.
In the dim light, the Omega was surrounded by flickering fireflies and butterflies, as though glowing himself.
He was dressed in a white elven costume patterned with intricate black designs. His long white hair was adorned with emerald-green ornaments, entwined with vines that radiated an ancient and mysterious aura.
His delicate, impossibly beautiful features looked like they had stepped right out of a painting.
On his face was a look of confusion and helplessness. The faint panic in his light purple eyes stirred both the desire to bully and the instinct to protect. His pointed ears and a pair of translucent wings on his back were crafted so realistically they could easily be mistaken for real.
If, at first sight of Fu Su, Jiao Mubai’s thought had been that he wanted this man, then now, upon seeing this Omega, his very first thought was—he had found the true Elven Prince.
Jiao Mubai couldn’t put into words the feeling that surged through him at the sight.
Excitement boiled through his bl00d, and that long-suppressed possessiveness inherent to an Alpha’s genes roared to life, screaming at him to claim what he saw.
This Omega had to be his!
His eyes narrowed dangerously as he looked at Ji Xia, like a predator staring down prey it meant to devour whole.
Fu Su immediately caught the dangerous glint in Jiao Mubai’s gaze. Uneasy, he called out, “President Jiao.”
Jiao Mubai gave him an apologetic smile, then put him down.
“Beauty, I can’t take you with me tonight. Next time, perhaps.”
Fu Su’s face turned pale in an instant. He grabbed the Alpha’s arm with anger in his voice.
“You promised me—you said tonight you’d only take me away with you!”
Jiao Mubai’s expression chilled as he looked at him.
“If you were more enchanting than that beauty over there, I’d take you away this very moment. Unfortunately, you’re not even worth a toe of his. How could I abandon a pearl for a worthless pebble?”
Fu Su was furious. He wanted to lunge at Jiao Mubai, but a single sharp glare from the Alpha froze him in place. He didn’t dare move.
Never had he imagined being discarded so ruthlessly. Even worse, the “trash” he had schemed so hard to bind and dispose of had now become his biggest obstacle.
Hatred surged within him, drowning him whole. His gaze turned venomous as he glared at Ji Xia with undisguised malice, as though he could pierce him through with his eyes alone.
Under the Alphas’ burning, possessive stares, Ji Xia took two steps back and leaned against the tree trunk.
After completing his outfit change, he’d found the seventh floor deserted and had taken the private elevator down to the fourth floor to look for Mr. Fu. But as soon as he stepped into the forest, he was surrounded by Alphas.
He had clearly refused them, yet more and more Alphas kept approaching.
Ji Xia suspected the system had given him too pretty of a costume, which was why he was attracting trouble.
The system cried injustice.
“Host, this is already the plainest and most low-key outfit! It’s Mr. Fu who raised you too well. Besides, the costumes only bring out your best state and add harmless effects. If you weren’t good-looking, even the most luxurious costume wouldn’t have much effect.”
Ji Xia apologized for wrongly blaming it.
But the situation was already here. To resolve it, he had to quickly find Mr. Fu.
He stumbled aimlessly through the forest like a headless fly. At first, the Alphas only followed, but as more joined, one finally lost patience and tried to take him away.
Thanks to Ji Xia’s resistance and other Alphas interfering, he managed to escape—but they weren’t about to give up. They chased after him.
Panicked, Ji Xia fled. Midway, he ran into Zhao Kuo.
Zhao Kuo also tried to seize him immediately. But Ji Xia, now experienced, called out to the other Alphas for help, forcing Zhao Kuo to back down. Several Alphas wanted to make a move, but they all checked each other, forming a standoff.
For the moment, Ji Xia was safe. But before he could breathe a sigh of relief, the swelling ache in his glands intensified. Faintly, he could already smell the scent of cream cookies.
His heat was approaching. A little movement was enough for his pheromones to spill out.
In this situation, releasing pheromones would only drive the Alphas into greater frenzy. He had no choice but to stop moving for now.
Panting, he leaned against a tree trunk to rest. But despair hit him when he realized his body was losing strength.
If an Omega went into heat surrounded by this many Alphas… Ji Xia didn’t dare imagine the outcome. He bit his lip, eyes fixed on the path ahead. He had to find Mr. Fu.
And then, something worse happened. He saw Jiao Mubai.
Jiao Mubai brushed aside the Omegas before him and stepped forward, his eyes blazing with naked obsession as he fixed on Ji Xia—like a predator staring at prey it would never let escape.
Heat flushed Ji Xia’s body, his limbs growing weaker. His heat had arrived.
Despair settled over him. With a heavy heart, he thought—
Mr. Fu… where are you? Do you hate me so much that you’re hiding from me?
When Xu Le came out of the cloakroom after changing, he had originally planned to ask Ji Xia to leave with him. But Ji Xia said he needed to wait a bit longer and told him to go ahead first.
Worried about missing his chance, Xu Le had confirmed several times that Ji Xia didn’t need his help before joining the other Omegas entering the event area.
The moment he stepped onto the fourth floor, he was stunned speechless by the scene before him. The thought struck him: rich people really lived in a different world.
This was just a game, yet they had recreated an entire forest on the ship.
There were even fireflies, butterflies, and birds. The air carried the earthy scent of soil and trees. It felt like stepping into a real forest.
His astonishment lasted only three minutes before voices disrupted him.
He realized Alphas had already entered, and the early-arriving Omegas had begun their maneuvers. He was already behind and needed to act fast.
Looking around, inspiration struck. He climbed a tree. Ten minutes later, an Alpha came by.
This Alpha was tall, long-legged, strikingly handsome, with an imposing presence greater than any other Alpha Xu Le had glimpsed.
The sheer force of him intimidated Xu Le. He wavered, tempted to give up—but opportunities like this were rare. If he dared to gamble, maybe he could trade his bicycle for a motorcycle.
Clenching his teeth, he scattered prepared leaves, successfully drawing the man’s gaze upward. Xu Le forced a smile he’d practiced countless times in the mirror, showing the small dimple in his left cheek to appear more charming.
But the Alpha merely glanced coldly, then looked away and continued walking.
Rejected, Xu Le didn’t give up.
He nimbly hopped down and followed behind, pitching his voice into an exaggeratedly coy tone.
“Dear sir, my name is Xu Le. May I have the honor of spending a beautiful evening with you?”
Fu Yuan ignored him, quickening his pace. The rejection was clear.
Noticing the man seemed to be searching for something, Xu Le eagerly added,
“Sir, are you looking for someone? Maybe I can help.”
Nearby Omegas hunting for Alphas had also noticed and began drifting over. But before they could even flash their sweetest smiles, Fu Yuan’s gaze swept past them swiftly, indifferent, as he continued on.
Zhang Yi appeared out of nowhere, sidling up to Xu Le.
“Lele, how’s the night going for you?”
Still bothered by the elevator incident, Xu Le stayed silent, only shrugging before hurrying after the Alpha.
Zhang Yi caught up quickly, warning him,
“Don’t bother. This man clearly isn’t interested in you. Even if he was, once he sees someone prettier, he’ll drop you without a second thought.”
Just then, Wen He popped out from another direction to join them, agreeing,
“Exactly. This guy is clearly on another level. Don’t waste your time. Better we team up and snag an Alpha together—share the benefits.”
Xu Le ignored him and instead asked,
“You guys got dumped?”
Wen He: …………
Zhang Yi, however, didn’t mind admitting it.
“Don’t bring it up. I nearly hooked a big boss, but some damned fox spirit cut in halfway. Hmph! Acting all cold and aloof, when really they’re just pretending—disgusting.”
Wen He added, “Yeah, with that foxy face? Tch tch, you could see the scheming written all over it. Still pretending to be high and mighty.”
Xu Le said, “If that’s the case, wouldn’t the big boss dump them too, once someone prettier comes along?”
Zhang Yi thought about it, then muttered, “Unlikely. There’s probably no one prettier than that one.”
Wen He didn’t argue, which meant he agreed.
Xu Le was surprised. “Really that good-looking?”
Zhang Yi didn’t want to admit it, but still nodded.
At that moment, he caught sight of a figure passing along a small side path to the right. He slapped Xu Le’s shoulder hard.
“Look, that’s him!”
Xu Le and Wen He both followed his gaze—and indeed saw an Omega so breathtakingly beautiful that, as Zhang Yi said, there was likely no one in the whole event who could compare.
Fu Yuan also caught the flicker of movement. He looked up immediately—and locked eyes with Fu Su.
Zhang Yi suddenly laughed gleefully.
“Ha! Serves him right, being thrown aside. Who told him to act like he was invincible?”
Wen He added, twisting the knife, “So this means there is someone prettier than him, huh?”
Having been cast off by Jiao Mubai, Fu Su was already seething with rage. Now, mocked by the two Omegas, his face twisted in fury. At that moment, his desire for revenge against Jiao Mubai outweighed everything else.
Recklessly, he told Fu Yuan,
“President Fu, Ji Xia is up ahead. If you’re any later, he’ll be eaten alive.”
Fu Yuan’s dark eyes bore into him for two seconds before he abruptly changed direction, heading down the path Fu Su had come from.
The three Omegas following Fu Yuan froze on the spot at Fu Su’s words.
President Fu? The President Fu??
Though they talked about Fu Yuan every day, the head of the Fu family had protected his privacy too well. No photos had ever leaked. They had only ever heard of him, never seen him.
And now—he was standing right in front of them.
And Ji Xia—was it just someone with the same name? Or was it really their pale-faced roommate? How could two such unrelated people be connected?
Seeing the Alpha already striding far ahead, Xu Le worried for Ji Xia and immediately darted after him. Zhang Yi and Wen He also sensed something unusual and quickly followed.
