- After Clinging to a Big Shot, the Pitiful Omega Got Pregnant
- Chapter 6 - The New Plan
Lost in a daze, Ji Xia sat up, rubbing his sleepy eyes. He noticed the empty office chair across from him and a question mark slowly popped up in his head. “Where did everyone go?”
His sluggish mind finally caught up as he looked at the clock on the table. 13:27, 13:28, 13:29… Ji Xia’s eyes widened. Had he time-traveled? How was it suddenly past 1 p.m.?
He wiped a bit of drool from the corner of his mouth, refusing to admit he’d fallen asleep. He was no pig; having slept in so late, there was no way he could have fallen asleep again at noon. As he thought about going to find Fu Yuan, a sharp pain shot through his right foot.
Ji Xia’s face crumpled into a little bun. He pulled up his pant leg and saw that his right ankle was swollen like a steamed bun. He carefully propped his foot up on the back of the chair, licked his index finger, and slowly applied his “saliva therapy” to the swollen area. It was a method he’d invented as a child; when he was in pain after a beating, he would put some saliva on it, and it would get better quickly.
After rubbing it, he felt the pain lessen and went downstairs to look for someone. He didn’t find Fu Yuan but instead ran into Butler Xu, who took him to the dining room for a meal.
Looking at the lavish feast on the table, Ji Xia forced his eyes away, determined to shed the image of being useless, only good for eating and sleeping. “Grandpa Xu, I’m not very hungry. Just a little is fine.”
Butler Xu replied, “Young Master Ji, please feel free. We’ll dispose of any leftovers.”
“How?” Ji Xia asked.
Butler Xu: “We’ll dump them out for the pigs.”
Ji Xia’s cat-like eyes grew wide. Looking at the shrimp, steamed fish, and ribs, he thought to himself, “Mr. Fu’s pigs are so lucky.” After an internal struggle, his appetite won out, and he devoured everything until he was stuffed. With a pang of guilt, he silently apologized to the pigs he had never met, promising to save them some food tonight.
He stood up from the table, and the pain in his foot made him stop in his tracks. He had to wait a moment before he could move again. Butler Xu, who was directing the cleaning staff, noticed his odd behavior. “Young Master Ji, is something wrong?”
“Nothing,” Ji Xia waved him off.
“Did you hurt your foot? Let me see,” Butler Xu asked.
Ji Xia couldn’t refuse the elder’s concern. “I just twisted it. It’s nothing. It doesn’t hurt at all, you don’t need to look.” But Butler Xu had already knelt down and rolled up his pant leg.
“It doesn’t hurt, really,” Ji Xia insisted immediately.
The smile on Butler Xu’s face faded slightly. “Young Master Ji, lying is not a good habit.”
Ji Xia pursed his lips. “Please don’t tell Mr. Fu.”
Butler Xu didn’t agree or disagree, helping Ji Xia to a nearby sofa. A moment later, a young man in a tracksuit entered the living room. Butler Xu introduced him as Fu Yuan’s family doctor.
The doctor, named Chen Xi, put his medical kit on the coffee table and unabashedly examined the Omega on the sofa. “Just a skinny kid with a pair of very innocent eyes.” His gaze shifted from scrutiny and curiosity to confusion. Waving his hand, he greeted him, “I’m Chen Xi. You can call me Dr. Chen, or just Chen, or even A Xi.”
Ji Xia hadn’t met this person in his dreams, so he thought the plot had changed since he stayed in Fu Yuan’s house, and his fate was also changing. Smiling, he nodded at the doctor. “I’m Ji Xia. ‘Ji’ from ‘season,’ and ‘Xia’ from ‘summer.'”
Chen Xi’s lips curled up. “Where did you get hurt, Xia Xia?”
Ji Xia bent his leg and revealed his ankle. Chen Xi knelt down to examine it. “Nothing serious, just dislocated.” As soon as he said it, he quickly popped the joint back into place. Ji Xia felt a sharp pain, then the throbbing pain that had been bothering him all morning disappeared.
With a smile in his eyes, Chen Xi tapped his ankle and encouraged him, “Try moving it.” Ji Xia tentatively rotated his ankle, felt no pain, then increased the range of motion. It still didn’t hurt. With his brows curved in a smile, he said, “Thank you, Doctor,” then turned to Butler Xu and said a sweet “thank you.”
“You’re welcome, Young Master Ji,” Butler Xu said.
Chen Xi glanced at Butler Xu. “I don’t need a thank you. Fu Yuan pays my salary.” He sat down next to Ji Xia on the sofa, patted his leg, and said, “Put your leg here. I’ll help you massage the swelling out.”
“Dr. Chen, I can do it myself,” Ji Xia said.
Chen Xi furrowed his brows and put on a pained expression. “Xia Xia, do you not trust my expertise?”
“No, it’s not that. I just feel like I’m bothering you too much.” Ji Xia reluctantly placed his foot on Chen Xi’s lap.
Chen Xi’s expression instantly changed. He winked at him and said, “I’ll charge Fu Yuan for the extra services.” Ji Xia’s face paled, and he tried to pull his foot back, but Chen Xi was quick to hold him in place. Chen Xi sprayed some medicine on his hands and began to gently massage Ji Xia’s ankle.
Ji Xia was anxious. “How much will it cost? I’ll pay you. Please don’t charge Mr. Fu.”
Chen Xi glanced at his clothes. “You probably can’t afford it.”
Ji Xia pursed his lips. “Can I pay in installments?”
Chen Xi pretended to think seriously. “Sure, but the interest will be at the market rate. 90% in, 130% back. The principal is 50,000. How long do you plan to take to pay it off?”
Ji Xia’s eyes widened in shock. He couldn’t believe he had racked up such a huge debt in just a minute. He tried to calculate it in his head but couldn’t figure out the total amount, so he just bit the bullet and said, “Maybe two years…”
Butler Xu calmly interjected, “Young Master Ji, Young Master Chen is just teasing you.” Ji Xia looked dazed.
Chen Xi laughed. “Where did that guy, Jian, find such a cute little person? It’s rare. Xia Xia, do you know that Fu Yuan despises Omegas?”
Ji Xia didn’t understand why the doctor was asking this, so he just pursed his lips and didn’t answer. Chen Xi didn’t seem to need a response anyway. “You won’t last long here. You’ll be kicked out soon and won’t get anything. Why don’t you come with me? I’ll take good care of you.” He leaned in slightly, his eyes filled with a seductive look. “I have three hospitals. If you come with me, I’ll give you whatever you want—houses, cars, money.”
Ji Xia was smart and thought, “What good are houses, cars, and money if I’m dead?” He said very seriously, “I’ll try my best not to get kicked out.”
Chen Xi seemed surprised by the answer and was stunned for a moment. Then a playful smile appeared in his eyes. “So, how do you plan to try your best, Xia Xia?”
The spray for bruises had a strong smell. Ji Xia rubbed his nose, his ears a little red. “I’m still thinking about it.”
Chen Xi said, “Fu Yuan and I grew up together. I know what he likes and dislikes. If you need help, I can give you some advice.”
Butler Xu suddenly cleared his throat.
Ji Xia was completely focused on Chen Xi’s words. He had been failing all morning and couldn’t think of any solution himself, so having Chen Xi’s help would be wonderful. He humbly asked, “Dr. Chen, Mr. Fu said he doesn’t keep useless people around. How can I show my value?”
Chen Xi blurted out, “You’re an Omega.”
Ji Xia “hmmed” in response, then after waiting for a long time without a follow-up, he answered seriously again, “I am an Omega.”
Chen Xi: ?
His hand paused its massaging motion. He stared at Ji Xia for a while before asking, “Did you have a secondary gender differentiation into an Omega?”
Ji Xia nodded. “I just differentiated from a Beta into an Omega two days ago.”
Chen Xi looked thoughtful.
Butler Xu, who had been silent, suddenly said, “Young Master Chen, I won’t take up any more of your time. I can massage Young Master Ji from here.”
Chen Xi refused. “It’s no trouble! Don’t worry, Uncle Xu, I’m a professional, I know what I’m doing. Xia Xia, do you know what Alphas like most?”
Ji Xia shook his head.
Chen Xi said, “Possession and conquest. If you want to stay, there’s a simpler way: challenge Fu Yuan and win. Then you can make staying a condition.” Ji Xia’s mental lightbulb turned on with a “ping,” illuminating his dark life path.
Chen Xi: “To succeed, the challenge must be in Fu Yuan’s weakest area.”
Ji Xia: “Mmhmm.”
Chen Xi: “From my 30 years of knowing Fu Yuan, his weakest sport is swimming.”
Ji Xia: “Mmhmm.”
Chen Xi: “Right now, Fu Yuan is at the swimming pool. You can logically go and challenge him.”
Ji Xia was about to say “Mmhmm” out of habit, but he stopped himself mid-nod. “But I don’t know how to swim.”
Chen Xi: “I’ll buy you a lifebuoy.”
Ji Xia asked the ultimate question: “Can I win like that?”
Chen Xi put on a sad expression. “I know it seems impossible to you, but I can guarantee it’ll work. Don’t you trust me, Xia Xia?”
Ji Xia felt that it was impossible for a non-swimmer to beat Fu Yuan, but the doctor’s expression was so serious. Maybe it could work. Besides, the doctor treated him, massaged his foot, and didn’t even charge him. He was a good person and wouldn’t hurt him.
More importantly, he didn’t have a choice.
After a moment of hesitation, Ji Xia nodded. “I trust you.” He then added, a little worried, “What… what if I accidentally lose?”
Chen Xi smiled. “Losing is nothing to be afraid of. Just lie on the ground, stick your little butt out, and let Fu Yuan spank it a few times. That’s his hobby. A little perverted, right? Alphas are all like that.”
Ji Xia blinked in surprise. Butler Xu closed his eyes in a look of profound distress.
