After Disabled A was Reborn, She Got Scummed Again - Chapter 11
“Huh? Oh, no… no…”
Chu Qiyan had been so lost in thought that she didn’t even notice Qin Xiao had entered the room.
“Then why do you look so down?” Qin Xiao locked eyes with her, those black-and-white pupils so clear it was hard to look away. And why did she always have that forlorn expression, like a sad little puppy? It was honestly hard to ignore.
“It’s nothing… I just have something to take care of back at school. Would it be okay if I left early?”
Chu Qiyan asked softly. The smile on her face had faded noticeably, and there was a clear trace of worry and urgency between her brows.
“School? You mean Jingyan University?” A flash of surprise crossed Qin Xiao’s eyes—she hadn’t expected the girl was still in school.
“Yes, Miss Qin.” Chu Qiyan responded cautiously, watching Qin Xiao with some anxiety, waiting for her reply.
“…Just call me Qin Xiao,” she said casually. “I’ll have my driver take you. If anything comes up, feel free to come to me.”
Her tone was breezy, but her sharp phoenix eyes fixed on Chu Qiyan, as if making sure she heard every word.
“Alright, thank you… Qin Xiao.”
Chu Qiyan bowed her head gratefully, and when she looked up again, Qin Xiao had already stepped into Xu Chanmian’s office. She quickly turned and rushed toward the elevators.
What did Qin Xiao mean by that? Was she offering to help?
Chu Qiyan couldn’t figure it out. Ever since she’d started interacting with Qin Xiao, she’d been buried in unanswered questions. Could it be that Qin Xiao and Chu Qian had cooked up some new scheme to mess with her? So they could make her fall even harder later?
The thought lingered as she sat in the car, heading back to campus.
If Qin Xiao really could help her with that forum post, it would be ideal—quick, clean, and no one would dare breathe a word. She might even be able to drag the one behind it all into the light. But…
She didn’t trust Qin Xiao.

Inside Xu Chanmian’s office, only the two women were present.
“Judging from how she looked just now, it seems Chu Qiyan has some kind of trouble. And you’re not going to help her?” Xu Chanmian teased lightly.
“…No idea. I told her if something came up, she could come to me,” Qin Xiao replied coolly, sipping her black tea.
“With the way you act, who would dare go to you for help?” Xu Chanmian arched an eyebrow.
“Why wouldn’t they?” Qin Xiao looked up at her, genuinely puzzled.
“You two just met, didn’t you? And you used to be pretty close with Chu Qian… If she really did come to you for help, that would be the surprise,” she said matter-of-factly.
“…True.”
Qin Xiao nodded, then said slowly, “But she will. She’ll come to me—and I’ll help her.”
“…”
Xu Chanmian was momentarily speechless. She wasn’t wrong.
“How are things with Lu Ming?” Qin Xiao suddenly asked, remembering she hadn’t seen Lu Ming this morning—only Xu Chanmian had shown up.
“…No idea. She hasn’t really said anything. Why the sudden interest in my relationship, Qin Xiao? Don’t tell me you’re into Lu Ming?”
Xu Chanmian chuckled, but her eyes stayed sharp and unreadable.
“No. I just think you should treat her well. She’s a professor, after all. Heard she’s got a flock of little fangirls at the university.”
That last part didn’t need to be spelled out—just a little reminder was enough. Qin Xiao lifted her gaze to watch Xu Chanmian. Sure enough, the other woman had already gone thoughtful.
“Well, look at you, knowing so much. Don’t tell me you’ve got a secret crush on her?”
A moment later, Xu Chanmian threw her a playful grin.
“…I have a fiancée,” Qin Xiao shot back, glaring at her in annoyance.
“Yeah, yeah. So what are you doing here, huh? Shouldn’t you be off visiting your precious fiancée?” Xu Chanmian nudged.
She still had work to do—someone had delivered a sample of Chu Qiyan’s bl00d, and she needed to analyze it.
“Then I’ll get going,” Qin Xiao said, putting down her teacup. Her assistant promptly wheeled her out of the room.
“President Qin, are we headed to Jingyan University?” the assistant asked in a low voice.
“No, back to the office,” Qin Xiao answered without hesitation.
It had been a while since she’d set foot in the company. Most of the group’s affairs had been handled online.
But that meant her understanding of the company’s real situation was… less than accurate.
In her previous life, part of why the Qinlang Group eventually crumbled was precisely because of that blind spot.
The thought brought a coldness to Qin Xiao’s expression.
That deep, inky look in her eyes was sharp enough to cut glass.
But it didn’t matter. It was still early. She’d take her time with them—one by one.
Outside the car window, the sun shone brightly. The streets bustled with people. Everything felt so normal, so beautiful, that it swept away a bit of the gloom from her heart.
For some reason, though, her mind suddenly wandered back to that pitiful expression on Chu Qiyan’s face.
Qin Xiao tapped her fingers. “Have Liu Xinmin prepare a full report on Chu Qiyan. Deliver it to my office.”
“Yes, President Qin,” the assistant replied quickly, already tapping on their tablet to schedule the task.
“Oh, right. What’s Liu Xinmin working on these days?” Qin Xiao asked. It had been a while since she’d seen her special assistant.
Though she held the title of ‘special assistant,’ Liu Xinmin was also someone Qin Xiao had grown up with—a friend. She was Aunt Liu’s daughter.
“She’s currently arranging work for Qin Xingyan,” the assistant replied.
“Qin Xingyan?” Qin Xiao’s brows knitted slightly.
“Yes, President Qin. Your cousin’s daughter.”
A deep thought flashed through those striking phoenix eyes, and Qin Xiao’s brows tightened even more.
Qin Xingyan… She was from one of the more obscure side branches of the Qin family.
Now, she’d been placed into the company to learn the ropes. And she wasn’t alone—there were at least a dozen other Qin family juniors placed across different departments, their positions and allegiances tangled beyond belief.
According to Grandma Qin Peng, her task was to choose a worthy successor from among them and train that person at her side.
But that had also opened the door for all kinds of opportunists from the side branches—those hoping to profit from her, and worse, some who had already started working with outsiders to undermine the family from within.
A thousand-mile levee collapses from an ant’s nest—In her past life, under coordinated attacks from all sides, the Qin family was ultimately devoured by wolves, jackals, tigers, and leopards alike.
“What about the others?” Qin Xiao murmured, lost in thought.
“They’re working under Assistant Liu as well,” the assistant replied truthfully.
After all, this involved internal matters within the Qin family, so it made sense for Liu Xinmin to handle them. She had spent years within the Qin household and held a degree of authority. It was fitting for her to be the one managing and disciplining the younger family members.
“Alright.” Qin Xiao nodded slowly.
Skyscrapers stretched out before them. They had arrived at the Qinlang Group headquarters. The assistant pushed Qin Xiao’s wheelchair as they entered the building.
The moment she crossed the threshold, the entire company fell silent—as if even a pin dropped could be heard.
Everyone’s eyes discreetly shifted toward the figure of the group’s reigning president.
Only when the elevator doors closed and she was no longer visible did people dare to look at one another—and then came the explosion of chat notifications: President Qin came to the office? Something big must be going on!
The department directors who caught wind of her arrival began breaking into a cold sweat. They quickly scrambled to gather reports and prep materials. After all, whenever Qin Xiao showed up in person, it usually meant a round of in-person briefings.
The elevator arrived at the top floor.
In the corridor leading to the president’s office, two rows of people stood neatly at attention—executives holding documents on one side, secretaries and assistants on the other—ready to welcome her.
Qin Xiao swept a glance over the group. “Go back to work. As for the briefings—tomorrow.”
The directors exchanged glances.
Tomorrow?
Did that mean… she’d be coming in again tomorrow?
Could there be a major project in the pipeline? Or was the company finalizing a crucial decision?
Whatever it was, one thing was clear: when Qin Xiao showed up in person, it was never for something minor.
Since she had spoken, the crowd quickly dispersed.
“Liu,” Qin Xiao called, her gaze lifting as she searched the group—pausing briefly on Qin Xingyan, who stood beside her.
“Madam,” Liu Xinmin answered, following her into the office.
Qin Xiao looked around the familiar space, and for a brief moment, her thoughts drifted. It had been quite some time since she’d last worked in this office.
She stood in front of the large floor-to-ceiling windows, gazing out over the cityscape.
She had come to the office so infrequently that some of the information she received was already outdated—if not deliberately altered. The most critical reports were all filtered and summarized by her inner circle.
So, if there had been misinformation… then someone close to her had betrayed her.
Of course, that was just speculation—for now.
As she looked out at the view, her mind wandered again, back to the past.
So many unanswered questions still lingered from her previous life.
“President Qin, here’s the report on Chu Qiyan,” Liu Xinmin’s voice pulled her back to the present.
“…Thanks. When it’s just us, you can call me by name. No need to be so formal.”
Qin Xiao accepted the folder.
“Habit, Madam. Also—according to reports, a certain video involving Chu Qiyan has been circulating on Jingyan University’s forum. Do we need to intervene?”
Her mother had emphasized the unique position of this certain Miss Chu, and so Liu Xinmin had looked into the girl a bit more carefully—keeping tabs on her situation while compiling the report.
“What video? ”Qin Xiao looked up, flipping through the report. She was already on the third page.
