After Disabled A was Reborn, She Got Scummed Again - Chapter 12
Special Assistant Liu handed over the tablet directly. On the screen, a video was playing—footage of Chu Qiyan in close contact with several alphas.
A chilling light flickered in Qin Xiao’s phoenix eyes.
Before she could ask, Liu spoke first, “The video isn’t fake or edited.”
“Alright.” Qin Xiao nodded, thoughtful, then looked back down at the information in her hands.
Chu Qiyan was a junior at Jingyan University, a top student, and well-liked by her peers.
As she flipped further through the file, it listed alphas Chu Qiyan had interacted with—down to a detailed name list. Her father, Chu Peng, was indeed a shrewd, profit-driven businessman. Every alpha he’d had Chu Qiyan meet came from families that could benefit his company—whether financially or through business connections.
Qin Xiao set the stack of documents on her desk, her eyes deep in thought. So Chu Qiyan’s life in the Chu household wasn’t easy—she lived in deep water and scorching fire, constantly targeted by Chu Qian. But the more she saw, the more it proved that Chu Qiyan wasn’t a fool. She’d managed to survive and stay relatively stable.
Given all this, it was no surprise that Chu Qiyan had come looking for her about the incident on the university forum.
Thinking of what Xu Chanmian had said, Qin Xiao paused for a moment and then added Chu Qiyan on WeChat.
“Special Assistant Liu, why is Qin Xingyan following you around? ”Qin Xiao asked with a frown.
There were plenty of positions in the company. There was no need for her to be tagging along as an assistant—especially not hers. An assistant had access to sensitive information. Who knew if keeping her close was inviting a future threat?
“She said she wants to be your assistant,” Liu replied truthfully.
“Have someone else take her. Start her from the basics.” Qin Xiao tapped her slender fingers rhythmically on the desk. Come to think of it, there were too many problems in the company. The first was this whole batch of Qin family youths currently under training.
She could understand her grandmother’s reasoning—given her own poor health and the possibility of never having children, it made sense to select a successor from the branch families and raise them as potential heirs.
“And the others? Are they doing whatever they please? ”Qin Xiao lifted her gaze, those sharp phoenix eyes suddenly cold and commanding.
“There’s a standard training system. After completing rotational assessments, they’ll be placed in appropriate departments.”
“How are they doing? Any results? If not, transfer them to a branch company.” Qin Xiao turned to look out the window. People who were useless had no reason to stay. As for those who remained—whether they had ulterior motives would be considered separately.
“…Understood. But…” Liu hesitated, wanting to explain.
“No buts. If they have a problem, they can come to me,” Qin Xiao said coolly, casting her a glance with eyes sharp as blades. Then she lowered her head and focused back on the tablet, diving into work.
“Coffee.” She ordered casually, not even raising her head. “Now, give me a rundown on the current state of the company, Special Assistant Liu.”
The assistant quickly left to fetch the coffee, while Liu began reporting, detail by detail. Qin Xiao never looked up the entire time.
For now, there didn’t seem to be any major issues in the company.
“Boss, the commercial value of that plot of land in West City isn’t high,” Liu reported with a careful tone.
“We must acquire it,” Qin Xiao said firmly, her eyes unwavering. There’s no room for negotiation.
She had originally thought the land might be a decent investment, nothing too urgent. But in her past life, she saw with her own eyes how a thriving commercial district eventually emerged from that very place—revitalizing the surrounding economy and becoming a goldmine of opportunity.
Back then, everyone thought it was nothing but a barren wasteland.
She had only secured a third of it in her last life.
This time, she would get it all.
If her prediction was right, that illegitimate daughter from the Cheng family would be showing up soon.
Thinking of her, Qin Xiao’s eyes darkened.
Chu Qian really had a talent for playing both sides—sweet-talking her on one hand and then cozying up to that Cheng girl behind her back. Not only that, she’d even stolen business intel that landed a critical blow to the Qinlang Group.
Qin Xiao had to admit Chu Qian’s ability to play all sides was impressive.
But…
Why hadn’t Chu Qiyan come to her yet?
She glanced at the new friend request from Chu Qiyan on her phone and frowned slightly.
******
Meanwhile, at school, Chu Qiyan was walking with her friend Tian Shi as they tracked down the forum admin. After much effort, they finally got in touch with a classmate—but he didn’t have deletion privileges. He did, however, give her the contact info of a teacher who did.
“Qiyan, what now? I can’t reach the teacher,” Tian Shi said nervously. “Who would do this to you? Could it be your sister?”
“I don’t know,” Chu Qiyan replied, brows furrowed. She had her suspicions about Chu Qian too, but no proof.
Besides, she was technically engaged to Qin Xiao. Any rich kid in school with a crush on Qin Xiao might be behind this, jealous enough to want her humiliated.
But who had leaked the video and photos? That she still didn’t know. Her expression darkened with frustration and worry as she stared at the forum on her phone.
[This is the campus belle?] More like a sugar baby.]
[Gross. I used to think she was decent—turns out she’s just another Omega slut.]
[Get out of Jingyan University!] What a disgrace.]
[Wow. Never thought I’d see the day. How did she even earn the “white moonlight” title? Seriously?]
All the comments were filled with vile insults.
“Shi Shi, you’re in the computer science department, right? Can you delete the posts? Or at least find out who posted them?” Chu Qiyan asked, a sudden thought striking her.
“Qiyan… I don’t think I can help. The campus forum is run by several generations of top students from our department. It’s extremely secure—no one can hack in,” Tian Shi said apologetically.
“Okay…”
“Wait! I know someone—Zhang Qian! She’s back on campus!” Tian Shi exclaimed.
“Zhang Qian? ” The name rang a faint bell. Chu Qiyan remembered that the girl had once tried to pursue her. A legendary top student from the CS department—smart, capable, and polite. Her impression of Zhang Qian had always been good.
“Yes, that’s her! She’s one of the best. I heard she’s on campus for a collaboration project right now.” Tian Shi quickly pulled up her contacts.
“Great. I’ll ask her,” Chu Qiyan said, finding her WeChat and dialing the number. Surprisingly, Zhang Qian answered right away.
“Hi, Senior Zhang? I’m Chu Qiyan. Could I ask you for a favor…?”
Tian Shi watched in amazement. How did Qiyan even know Zhang Qian?
Zhang Qian agreed readily and arranged to meet them at Classroom 1231.
“Thank god! Let’s go! We’re finally getting somewhere! ” Tian Shi grinned. “Wow, I didn’t know you were close with her.”
But Chu Qiyan had fallen into thought again—because a new contact had just appeared on her WeChat: Qin Xiao.
Why did Qin Xiao suddenly add her? Was it about this? She vaguely remembered Qin Xiao once saying she could go to her if anything happened. The thought lingered for a second, but she shook it off.
As they walked to the classroom, even with a hat pulled low, Chu Qiyan was still recognized. Her fellow students glared, muttered, and mocked her loudly on purpose.
Chu Qiyan kept her head down and ignored them.
“What the hell? All those people who once voted her the campus belle are acting like they’ve never liked her. Just a few rumors and everyone jumps on the hate train!” Tian Shi muttered angrily.
“It’s fine, Shi Shi. This is normal. What matters now is getting those posts taken down,” Chu Qiyan said calmly, her voice low.
“Right, let’s go find Zhang Qian!”
Inside the classroom, a cool and composed alpha in black sat alone, ponytail hanging loosely behind her head, black-rimmed glasses perched on her nose.
“Long time no see, junior. Which post are you talking about? There seems to be a lot about you right now…” Zhang Qian hesitated.
It wasn’t surprising. Jealous gossip about Chu Qiyan had been common even before. But this time it had blown up—the entire forum was filled with slander.
“This one… the one with the photos and video,” Chu Qiyan said quickly, showing her phone.
“…Got it.” Zhang Qian scrolled, thoughtful. “Wait… This video—it isn’t fake? ”
“It’s not… It’s just the camera angle…” Chu Qiyan said weakly.
“Alright. Who did you piss off?” Zhang Qian asked as she typed away at lightning speed, her fingers flying across the keyboard in a blur of code neither of the girls could follow.
After a while, Zhang Qian looked up. “I traced the IP. It was posted from an internet café near the back gate of campus.”
“Thank you, Senior Zhang… But—is there no way to delete the posts?” Chu Qiyan asked, brows furrowed. That was still the most urgent issue.
“You probably don’t know, but the forum has no backdoors. It’s maintained by several generations of CS prodigies to ensure fairness and transparency. Only a few people have deletion privileges. Even though I’m part of the dev team, I can’t delete posts,” Zhang Qian explained, shaking her head.
“I see… then can you help us contact one of them?” Chu Qiyan asked.
Behind her, Tian Shi’s eyes widened. She hadn’t known Zhang Qian was one of the people behind the forum.
“Wait, I’ll go with you,” Zhang Qian said, packing up her things.
“Thank you so much, Senior Zhang.” Chu Qiyan and Tian Shi planned to go to the internet café first, then try to reach one of the forum managers.
“Damn! Qiyan, look!” Tian Shi cried, shoving her phone in front of her.
The posts were now everywhere—in group chats, forums, and private messages. The scandal had spread like wildfire in just a couple of hours.
Even if the posts got deleted now, the damage was done. They would need school leadership to step in.
But this was Jingyan University—the top private school in the country. Who had the power to help her?
Her father, Chu Peng? Unlikely. Compared to the old families, the Chu clan was small. They didn’t have the influence or the reach.
She was truly out of options. Did she really have to ask Qin Xiao?
There’s no such thing as a free lunch—Qin Xiao would want something in return. And she might not be able to afford the price.
What if everything Qin Xiao had shown so far was just a facade? Blind trust could lead to disaster.
Staring at their chat window, Chu Qiyan typed out a message—
But deleted it a second later.
No. She couldn’t go to her like this.
Instead, she made a decision: she would make full use of her identity as Qin Xiao’s fiancée.
Chu Qiyan of the Chu family might not be able to convince the school to act, but her fiancé, Qin Xiao, absolutely could.
