After Going on a Blind Date With My Omega Love Rival (ABO, GL) - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
But this thought didn’t last long, not even an afternoon.
Chi Ruixi was the homeroom teacher for Class 3, Grade 2. Last week, something bad happened. A male omega student, recently differentiated, was bullied by an alpha male from the neighboring class.
Due to the six ABO genders, public restrooms were separated, but they were still close together. The omega boy was cornered by the alpha as he left the restroom. The alpha’s pheromones surged, and the newly differentiated omega tried to resist with his own pheromones. The result was that the aggressive alpha overpowered him, forcing him into a heat cycle.
At the critical moment, a beta boy’s arrival saved the omega.
The beta heard the omega’s cries and, shocked by what he saw, shouted and called a teacher. Teachers and students who heard the news soon arrived. Even a bold alpha, still just a high schooler of sixteen or seventeen, got scared.
The alpha began to panic.
The omega was even worse off. When Chi Ruixi arrived, the omega was nearly fainting from crying.
Afterward, the omega took leave to recover at home, and the alpha boy faced punishment, possibly even expulsion.
That afternoon, Chi Ruixi was called to the dean’s office. As she entered, she saw a burly middle-aged alpha glaring at her angrily, his son—the bullying alpha—beside him. Unlike the fear he showed when caught, the boy now looked at Chi Ruixi with defiance.
She knew the handling of this incident dissatisfied the alpha boy’s parents. Rumor had it they were wealthy and had donated heavily to the school.
Normally, such an incident would lead to expulsion, but due to the alpha’s family, he was only disciplined for now, with no final decision on expulsion.
Chi Ruixi also knew many were unhappy with her, like the dean and the alpha boy’s homeroom teacher. To them, this student’s family was a cash cow.
Some even thought Chi Ruixi was foolish for being one of the few who demanded the boy’s expulsion.
“You’re Teacher Chi?”
The middle-aged alpha spoke, his large frame seated at the dean’s desk. His tone dripped with disdain, his intent to intimidate clear.
But Chi Ruixi wasn’t fazed. She met his gaze calmly and nodded.
She had little to say to someone like him and didn’t want to engage, but the situation didn’t allow her to ignore him.
She was still a teacher at this school, and he was a student’s parent.
Seeing her only nod coldly, the man’s expression shifted, his brows furrowing deeper. His next words were even more scornful. “Just an omega…”
Before Chi Ruixi could react, the dean and another teacher nearby paled.
Then Chi Ruixi smiled. She stepped forward, showing no displeasure, as if the omega he referred to wasn’t her.
In her mind, she found it laughable. After a century of progress, though alphas and omegas were still a minority, they were no longer rare. Omega-alpha equality movements began fifty years ago, and twenty years ago, omegas gained equal status with alphas.
So what made this middle-aged alpha think he was superior?
At that thought, Chi Ruixi actually laughed out loud. The middle-aged alpha, furious, shot to his feet, slammed the desk, and pointed at her, shouting, “What’s so funny?”
—
Yu Heyi got off work earlier than usual today, around 3 p.m.
But her mood wasn’t great. Seeing Chi Ruixi and Zheng Qin at lunch left her feeling off. Even her toothache seemed less bothersome as her mind wandered.
She didn’t know which class Chi Ruixi taught or what grade, but for some reason, she found herself heading toward the teaching building.
She told herself she just wanted to see her old classroom. That was it. She wasn’t here for Chi Ruixi.
As she walked, she noticed little had changed in ten years. Each floor housed a grade. Yu Heyi quickly toured the first floor and headed to the second, but as she climbed the stairs, she heard shouting.
“Omegas should live dependent on alphas.” Yu Heyi paused, frowning. The voice sounded like a man, probably an alpha.
Only an alpha supremacist would say something like that. Before she could process it, the next words shocked her.
“Being marked by my son, that little omega should feel honored. After all, his poor family can’t compare to ours.”
Was this something a person would say?
Yu Heyi quickened her pace up the stairs but stopped at the top. Rushing in without knowing the situation might not be smart.
In her moment of hesitation, a tall figure brushed past her—Zheng Qin.
Zheng Qin, in a hurry, didn’t notice her. Yu Heyi watched her head to the first office, knock, and enter.
Right after Zheng Qin went in, Yu Heyi heard a woman’s voice. “Please watch your words, sir.”
It was Chi Ruixi.
Yu Heyi didn’t hesitate anymore. She’d worried about meddling, but now that Chi Ruixi was involved, she didn’t think it was meddling. She took three steps in two and reached the office door.
The door was open. Inside, everyone was an alpha except Chi Ruixi, the only omega.
The middle-aged alpha was still yelling, and when he saw Zheng Qin enter, he became even more relentless.
“What? Called your alpha to help?”
Chi Ruixi was furious, her lips pursed tightly, glaring at the alpha.
Zheng Qin had come after hearing the news, but seeing this scene threw her off. She hadn’t expected her arrival to make the man’s words even worse.
“Don’t talk nonsense. I’m Teacher Chi’s colleague.”
“Oh, colleague.” The man nodded, then leered at Chi Ruixi. “A fine omega like Teacher Chi doesn’t just stir protective instincts in young alphas. Even I feel it.”
“How about, Teacher Chi…” Before he could finish, Chi Ruixi saw a figure rush past her. A punch landed on the man’s face.
“What the hell did you say?!”
Chi Ruixi was stunned when she saw who it was—Yu Heyi.
Zheng Qin’s arrival wasn’t surprising; they worked at the same school, so hearing the news and coming was normal. But Yu Heyi?
Wasn’t she supposed to be in the cafeteria?
In Chi Ruixi’s stunned moment, the man, knocked down by the punch, stood up. The alpha boy beside him looked angry, itching to take on Yu Heyi.
Yu Heyi didn’t even glance at him. She grabbed the man’s collar and punched him again, knocking him back down.
Crouching, still gripping his collar, Yu Heyi turned and pointed at Chi Ruixi. “You were talking about her, right?”
“You know who she is? You dare talk about her like that!”
After yelling, Yu Heyi landed two more punches before Chi Ruixi snapped out of it and rushed to stop her.
“Enough, stop hitting him.”
Chi Ruixi’s strength was no match for Yu Heyi’s. Caught up in the moment, Yu Heyi shook her off, sending Chi Ruixi to the floor. Chi Ruixi’s yelp made Yu Heyi realize what happened.
Before Yu Heyi could help her up, Zheng Qin was faster, pulling Chi Ruixi to her feet. Meeting Yu Heyi’s angry glare, Zheng Qin awkwardly let go.
Yu Heyi helped Chi Ruixi up, checked she was okay, and then addressed the room. “I’m Yu Heyi, Iexplosion. I work in the school cafeteria. If there’s any issue, you can come find me.”
With that, she pulled Chi Ruixi out. As they left, the middle-aged alpha, momentarily intimidated by Yu Heyi’s strength, started shouting again when he heard she worked in the cafeteria.
Though briefly scared by Yu Heyi’s force, he resumed his tirade once he learned she was just a cafeteria worker.
But Yu Heyi had no time for this.
An alpha’s stamina was far beyond an omega’s. She pulled Chi Ruixi along quickly, and Chi Ruixi nearly tripped on the stairs.
Yu Heyi glanced back, realizing Chi Ruixi was wearing an A-line skirt. With her lesser stamina and restrictive clothing, keeping up was tough. Yu Heyi thought she herself probably couldn’t even walk in something like that.
“You okay?”
Chi Ruixi smiled. “I’m fine. Thank you.”
The sudden gratitude made Yu Heyi feel awkward. She’d acted because she couldn’t stand by, not… not to hear Chi Ruixi’s thanks.
So she said coolly, “It’s nothing.”
As they continued, Yu Heyi slowed her pace, letting Chi Ruixi keep up. Chi Ruixi looked at Yu Heyi’s hand holding hers, her heart softening, a smile on her lips.
Yu Heyi’s hand was so warm.
