After Going on a Blind Date With My Omega Love Rival (ABO, GL) - Chapter 16
Chapter 16
“Hiss…”
Because of some events this afternoon, Yu Heyi had ignored her toothache, but now that Chi Ruixi brought it up, Yu Heyi felt the pain intensify.
Tears almost welled up in her eyes.
Chi Ruixi frowned, a flash of heartache in her eyes.
“Have you taken any medicine?”
Yu Heyi nodded, then stepped aside and said to Chi Ruixi, “Come in and sit.”
The porridge Chi Ruixi brought smelled delicious, and since Yu Heyi had helped her out today, having a bowl didn’t seem too much.
With that thought, Yu Heyi felt at ease and reached out to take the porridge.
It wasn’t Chi Ruixi’s first time at Yu Heyi’s place, but it was definitely the first time she’d come over in such a clear-headed state. She sat obediently on the sofa, watching Yu Heyi.
Yu Heyi felt a bit uneasy under her gaze.
“I’ll get you some water.” A moment later, Yu Heyi returned with two cups—one warm, one cool. The warm water was for Chi Ruixi. She wasn’t sure if other Omegas were like Chi Ruixi, with cold hands and feet.
So warm water seemed better.
Chi Ruixi took the cup with a smile and said, “Thank you.”
This made Yu Heyi a bit embarrassed, especially… in this room where something had happened between them.
It was particularly awkward. Yu Heyi turned her head. “It’s just a cup of water. No need to thank me.”
Hearing this, Chi Ruixi sat up straight and said, “It’s not just the water. Thank you for what happened today.”
Her words made Yu Heyi’s face flush, and she grew even more uncomfortable.
Being thanked by others was one thing, but being thanked by Chi Ruixi made her feel awkward all over.
“It’s nothing. I just couldn’t stand that guy.”
“So, you don’t need to thank me.”
At Yu Heyi’s words, Chi Ruixi unconsciously tightened her grip on the cup, feeling a pang of sadness. She really didn’t know why Yu Heyi disliked her so much.
But she knew Yu Heyi liked Jingwan. Yet Jingwan was about to get married.
Was Yu Heyi still planning to hang herself on Jingwan’s tree?
Thinking of this, Chi Ruixi bit her lip, feeling a bit wronged.
She’d… known Yu Heyi first.
“What’s wrong?” If Chi Ruixi had acted like she used to, Yu Heyi would’ve disliked her even more. But after this encounter, she felt the current Chi Ruixi was worlds apart from the one in her memory.
Her appearance was different, and her personality seemed different too.
Most importantly, Chi Ruixi was now an Omega. An Alpha and an Omega alone together, and the Omega sitting across from her looked so wronged. Yu Heyi felt like she was some kind of scumbag Alpha.
Chi Ruixi had kindly brought her food, and she’d responded with cold words.
Maybe because Yu Heyi’s expression showed concern, Chi Ruixi felt a bit better. She smiled and said to Yu Heyi, “I’m fine.”
“And… no matter what you say, I still have to thank you for today.”
Ugh… Yu Heyi hadn’t expected Chi Ruixi to bring up thanks again. Now she felt like her earlier reaction was utterly childish.
Especially since Chi Ruixi looked so sincere, Yu Heyi felt a bit embarrassed. Her hand unconsciously rubbed against her leg…
Truth be told, Chi Ruixi was the first Omega Yu Heyi had been in such close contact with. She felt a bit floaty~
Then she said something incredibly stereotypical for an Alpha.
“You don’t need to take it to heart. Helping Omegas is every Alpha’s duty.”
And with that, Chi Ruixi’s expression visibly soured.
But Yu Heyi didn’t think she’d said anything wrong and didn’t notice Chi Ruixi’s reaction at all. She was already lost in her own world.
It wasn’t just about doing the right thing—it was because helping Omegas was an Alpha’s duty!
This gave her an even stronger reason for helping Chi Ruixi.
It even made her think that, even if the Omega was Chi Ruixi, she could set aside past grudges to help her.
As for Chi Ruixi? Don’t ask. She was speechless.
Yu Heyi’s words felt like a knife stabbing into her heart. Yu Heyi hadn’t acted because of her but out of pity for Omegas.
But… no matter what, Yu Heyi had still stepped in because of her. No matter what Yu Heyi said, Chi Ruixi was set on this belief.
She suddenly leaned forward and lightly touched the corner of Yu Heyi’s mouth. Yu Heyi jumped up like a startled rabbit.
“What are you doing? You scared me!”
Chi Ruixi’s touch was gentle and didn’t hurt at all, but Yu Heyi had been so caught up in her own thoughts that she hadn’t noticed Chi Ruixi coming closer, so close.
The scent of Omega pheromones hit her nose…
All the self-brainwashing from earlier seemed to stop working. Her heart became a mess again, and she even started contradicting her earlier thoughts. What was that about helping Omegas being an Alpha’s duty? She’d only gotten mad and wanted to beat that Alpha up because he’d spoken so rudely to Chi Ruixi.
“I wanted to ask why you haven’t put any medicine on it.”
Here we go again. Chi Ruixi was… drawing her in again.
Yu Heyi shifted back, her ears starting to turn red.
Chi Ruixi, sitting not far away, saw it clearly. As Yu Heyi retreated, she smiled and moved closer, until Yu Heyi couldn’t hold back and started releasing pheromones. Her gaze changed, and Chi Ruixi’s body softened under the influence of Yu Heyi’s pheromones, barely able to move closer.
Yu Heyi was completely captivated by Chi Ruixi’s every glance and smile. Her mind kept replaying Chi Ruixi crying and saying she wanted more. Her body grew hot, and the scent of oolong tea became more intense.
She was like a lion ready to pounce, and Chi Ruixi was her prey.
It wasn’t until she was pressing down on Chi Ruixi that Yu Heyi regained a sliver of clarity, but she was quickly drawn back in by Chi Ruixi.
Chi Ruixi already had a great figure, and her outfit was quite provocative. When Yu Heyi pinned her down, her slip dress slid down even further.
Yu Heyi swallowed hard, her body reacting even more strongly.
After all, she had…
The person beneath her was biting her lip, looking at her with a delicate gaze. Yu Heyi couldn’t hold back and slowly reached out, wanting to taste the sweet peach scent.
But at that moment, her tooth, which had been quiet for a while, started hurting again. The pain instantly killed all her passion. Annoyed, she thought she absolutely had to get that tooth pulled tomorrow.
Yu Heyi, who had been pressing down on Chi Ruixi, sat up, straddling Chi Ruixi’s waist and holding her face.
The toothache, which had been eased by cold water earlier, flared up again. Chi Ruixi suppressed her shyness and reached out to touch Yu Heyi’s face. As soon as her hand made contact, Yu Heyi froze.
If it weren’t for the toothache, Yu Heyi might’ve been biting Chi Ruixi’s soft lips, doing whatever she wanted with her…
Thinking of this, Yu Heyi suddenly felt awkward and ashamed.
Moving was awkward, not moving was awkward, and most importantly, after all those things she’d said to Chi Ruixi, she’d ended up pouncing on her without Chi Ruixi even doing anything.
…Yu Heyi’s mind raced, trying to figure out how to break this awkwardness.
Chi Ruixi’s soft fingertips were still rubbing her cheek. At some point, Yu Heyi’s hand had dropped, and Chi Ruixi’s hand took its place.
“I… it doesn’t hurt that much anymore. Thank you.”
After speaking, Yu Heyi slowly got off Chi Ruixi and sat on the opposite sofa, head down, not daring to look at her.
She didn’t want to face herself either.
She was such a jerk.
Too much of a jerk.
