After Going on a Blind Date With My Omega Love Rival (ABO, GL) - Chapter 28
Chapter 28
Chi Ruixi worried they’d really start fighting. She wanted to grab Yu Heyi, but there were things between them, and she couldn’t reach. So she tried to hold Zheng Qin, who was next to her. But as soon as she touched Zheng Qin’s arm, she felt a surge of alpha pheromones. Zheng Qin was glaring at Yu Heyi, seething with anger.
Fury made Zheng Qin lose all reason. She never expected Yu Heyi to hit her. She shoved Chi Ruixi away and charged at Yu Heyi.
As an Omega, Chi Ruixi’s strength was no match for Zheng Qin’s, especially not when Zheng Qin was out of control. She was pushed to the ground, landing on her knees. Wearing a skirt with bare legs, the pain was excruciating, and she couldn’t stand up.
Yu Heyi, somehow already out from behind the counter, held Chi Ruixi and asked with concern, “Where did you get hurt? Let me see.”
Normally, Chi Ruixi would’ve blushed at being held by Yu Heyi in public, but her legs hurt so much she didn’t care about blushing.
She grabbed Yu Heyi’s wrist and whispered, “My knees hurt.”
Yu Heyi looked and saw Chi Ruixi’s knees were bright red.
She shot a glare at the stunned Zheng Qin, then carried Chi Ruixi out.
Zheng Qin wasn’t the only one dumbfounded. Even Chi Ying, watching the drama, was shocked. She never imagined the PE teacher would be so rough with her aunt.
Chi Ying wasn’t a pushover either. At school, she played the good girl in front of her aunt, but in truth, she was very much like her mother, very much a Chi.
As Yu Heyi carried Chi Ruixi away, Chi Ying didn’t follow. Instead, she walked up to Zheng Qin. Zhan Yuan, standing nearby, didn’t know what she was up to but followed her.
“Teacher Zheng, you pushed Teacher Chi down?”
Zheng Qin, already dazed, was caught off guard by Chi Ying’s question. She instinctively apologized, “I… I’m sorry…”
But halfway through, she realized the person questioning her was just a student—one who was close to Chi Ruixi and had made her jealous before.
Her attitude hardened. “Adult matters. What’s a kid like you meddling for?”
Chi Ying smirked, licked her lips, and stared at Zheng Qin without speaking.
Zhan Yuan, beside her, tugged at her arm. “Chi Ying, we’re at school. You…”
“Stay out of it.”
Zhan Yuan sighed but kept holding her arm.
Everyone thought Chi Ying was a good girl, but Zhan Yuan knew she wasn’t—never had been.
They’d been classmates since junior high. Their friendship started when someone tricked Zhan Yuan, and Chi Ying helped her. Before that, Zhan Yuan thought Chi Ying was a sweet kid. But after seeing Chi Ying’s ruthless side, she knew Chi Ying was just pretending.
Hitting a classmate was one thing, but if Chi Ying impulsively hit a teacher, what then?
So, Zhan Yuan didn’t let go.
Chi Ying glanced at Zhan Yuan’s hand on her arm, chuckled softly, and said, “Don’t worry, I won’t lay a hand on her.”
But Zheng Qin, hearing their exchange, scoffed. A student talking like that?
First, Yu Heyi hit her, and now Chi Ying was disrespecting her. Zheng Qin was so angry her face nearly turned green.
“Chi Ying, you dare speak to a teacher like that? Call your parents.”
“Heh… you think you’re worthy?”
“She should’ve beaten you to the ground.”
Zheng Qin’s anger flared even more, pointing at Chi Ying. “You…”
But Chi Ying didn’t want to hear her. She pulled Zhan Yuan’s hand and left.
Most of the onlookers had dispersed, finding no more drama to watch. Only Teacher Cheng, who’d been eating with Chi Ruixi and Zheng Qin, remained.
She was still in a daze, never expecting the usually friendly Zheng Qin to get physical.
Zheng Qin, realizing what she’d done, looked at Teacher Cheng and forced a smile. “Teacher Cheng… I…”
Teacher Cheng, embarrassed, gave a faint smile, not wanting to hear Zheng Qin continue.
Yu Heyi carried Chi Ruixi straight to the infirmary, bursting in without knocking.
The school doctor, a forty-something Omega, was startled to see Yu Heyi sweating and carrying Chi Ruixi.
“Oh my, Teacher Chi, what happened?”
Chi Ruixi’s fair skin was already red from the fall, and after a while, it looked even worse.
Yu Heyi set her on the bed and asked the doctor, “How’s her knee?”
The doctor blinked, caught off guard. “I haven’t looked closely yet…”
“Oh, right, then check it quick.” She flashed what she thought was a friendly smile.
But her anxious demeanor made it look a bit comical. As the doctor approached Chi Ruixi and reached out, Yu Heyi noticed Chi Ruixi wince.
Chi Ruixi had actually smirked at Yu Heyi’s recklessness, but the movement tugged at her leg.
Yu Heyi didn’t see the smirk, only the wince, and thought the doctor had hurt her. Standing behind, she whispered, “Be gentle, she’s in pain.”
The doctor glared at Yu Heyi, annoyed. “I haven’t even touched her yet.”
“Uh…” Yu Heyi rubbed her hands, embarrassed, but still added, “Well… please be gentle.”
The doctor rolled her eyes, then continued examining Chi Ruixi’s injury. When she was done, she winked at Chi Ruixi, then glanced at Yu Heyi.
Clearly, she was fishing for gossip.
Chi Ruixi didn’t speak, just smiled faintly with pursed lips.
The doctor wasn’t clueless. Yu Heyi’s nervous behavior screamed that she and Teacher Chi weren’t just acquaintances.
Seeing the doctor finish, Yu Heyi rushed over. “How is she?”
“It’s fine. Apply some ointment at home, and avoid strenuous activity.”
“Oh, good, good.”
Taking the ointment from the doctor, Yu Heyi went to pick up Chi Ruixi, but as her hands slid under Chi Ruixi’s legs, Chi Ruixi swatted them away.
Yu Heyi blinked at her, confused.
With her knees like that, how was she supposed to walk?
Then Chi Ruixi whispered, “Just help me walk. Carrying me around school doesn’t look good.”
Yu Heyi thought about it and agreed, not insisting. She carefully helped Chi Ruixi off the bed, her hands under Chi Ruixi’s armpits, gripping a bit tightly.
As Chi Ruixi stood and tried to walk, she found the position awkward and uncomfortable.
“Don’t do it like that… it’s not comfortable.”
“Then I’ll loosen up. Is that better?”
“Cough, cough… there’s someone here.” The doctor, completely ignored, coughed lightly. What were these two saying? Such suggestive words!
Loosen up? Comfortable?
Her words made Chi Ruixi blush, and even thick-skinned Yu Heyi’s face reddened.
She quickly let go, one hand on Chi Ruixi’s waist, the other holding her hand, with the ointment tucked under her arm. She thanked the doctor and headed out.
But before they reached the door, a man in a suit walked in.
Yu Heyi’s focus was on Chi Ruixi and didn’t notice someone approaching until Chi Ruixi patted her hand. Only then did she look up.
She froze, then called out, “Uncle?”
It was Du Sheng, the vice-principal of Xijing High School and Lady Du’s younger brother.
He’d been on a business trip for nearly a month and had just returned to work.
Then he heard about Yu Heyi and Zheng Qin’s fight.
But Yu Heyi hadn’t connected the dots, greeting him warmly. “Uncle, I’ve been here almost a month, and I finally see you.”
She was so enthusiastic, but her uncle didn’t respond?
Seeing Du Sheng’s stern face, Yu Heyi belatedly realized he was here about the fight.
“Wait a sec, I’ll take Teacher Chi home first.”
At the mention of Chi Ruixi, Du Sheng’s gaze shifted from Yu Heyi to her, noticing her injury. He recalled hearing that Chi Ruixi got hurt during Yu Heyi and Zheng Qin’s altercation.
But seeing Yu Heyi had made him forget that detail.
His face quickly softened, smiling at Chi Ruixi. “How’s Xiao Chi’s injury? Is it serious?”
Yu Heyi glanced at Du Sheng and said, “Can’t you see? I’m taking her home.”
“What are you waiting for? Get her home, then come find me!” His tone flipped when addressing Yu Heyi.
Yu Heyi was used to her uncle’s attitude toward her and didn’t say anything, just helped Chi Ruixi walk out.
But Chi Ruixi stopped, pushing Yu Heyi’s hand. “I’m fine. I’ll go back to the office. You go with the vice-principal.”
“But…”
Yu Heyi’s obvious concern made Chi Ruixi smile. “It’s really fine. I can go back myself.”
But Yu Heyi wouldn’t have it. She put her hand back, saying seriously, “No way. I’m taking you home to rest.”
“I really don’t need…”
She insisted, and Chi Ruixi insisted too. After a standoff, Yu Heyi relented.
“Fine, I’ll take you to your office.”
Passing Du Sheng, Yu Heyi said, “I’ll take her to her office, then come find you.”
Du Sheng nodded, smiling at Chi Ruixi.
Chi Ruixi nodded back, then glanced at Yu Heyi’s tense face, giving a slight smile.
She realized Yu Heyi was all bark and no bite.
After dropping Chi Ruixi off, Yu Heyi went to Du Sheng’s office. She knocked lightly, didn’t wait for a response, pushed the door open, and casually plopped onto the office sofa.
“Spill.”
Acting like she owned the place.
Du Sheng chuckled, not scolding her.
He and Yu Heyi were close in age, and she’d always been informal with him. He was used to it.
He got up from his chair, poured two glasses of water, sat on the sofa, and patted Yu Heyi’s leg, grinning. “Looks like you and Xiao Chi are getting along well, huh?”
“What do you mean?” Yu Heyi frowned, not quite catching Du Sheng’s implication. Did her uncle know about her and Chi Ruixi?
Du Sheng took a sip of water and said, “What do you mean, what? Didn’t you go on a blind date with Xiao Chi?”
