After Going on a Blind Date With My Omega Love Rival (ABO, GL) - Chapter 35
Chapter 35
In just a few minutes, Yu Heyi came back with two more dishes, hurriedly placing them on the dining table before heading out again.
This was the last trip. Yu Heyi brought over the rice cooker.
After they got back, Yu Heyi had started cooking. When they returned, they first dealt with Chi Ruixi’s injury, and then Chi Ruixi’s sister showed up, so they hadn’t eaten.
Besides, Chi Ruixi’s injury meant she needed some nourishment. Yu Heyi rummaged through the fridge, pulling out everything that could help.
Worried it might get too late, she used a pressure cooker to make bone soup.
She had initially thought Chi Shengxi was still there, so she only brought the soup over. But seeing Chi Shengxi had already left, she brought the rest of the dishes too.
The dishes were set on the table, and Yu Heyi served two bowls of rice, one for each of them.
After everything was ready, she noticed Chi Ruixi still standing at the door, watching her. Yu Heyi walked over, picked Chi Ruixi up without a word, and said, “Come eat. Why are you just standing there?”
Passing through the living room, she saw the instant noodles on the coffee table and frowned.
After setting Chi Ruixi down, she walked to the coffee table, picked up the noodles, and said in a slightly stern tone, “Your leg’s injured, and you’re eating instant noodles? They’re so unhealthy.”
Chi Ruixi didn’t say anything, her eyes darting away.
Seeing her like this, Yu Heyi couldn’t keep scolding her and pulled her to the table. “Eat. These are really nourishing.”
Chi Ruixi glanced at the dishes on the table. They were indeed nourishing.
Bone soup, braised pig’s feet, chicken feet.
Really, too nourishing.
But Chi Ruixi didn’t pick up her chopsticks. She just looked at Yu Heyi sitting across from her.
Yu Heyi, confused by her stare, blinked, then served her a bowl of soup. “Why are you looking at me? Eat. I didn’t add scallions, ginger, or garlic, since I wasn’t sure if you eat them.” After saying this, she saw Chi Ruixi staring at her, dazed, her eyes slightly red.
This was the second time Yu Heyi had cooked for her.
Yu Heyi was so warm, just like the first time Chi Ruixi saw her one afternoon many years ago, warming her heart.
It was the start of their first year at Xijing High School. Teenage Chi Ruixi was even quieter than now. The chance to live at school, which she had fought for from her sister, was the most exciting thing for her back then.
She didn’t want to stay at the Chi family home. Even though little Chi Ying clung to her leg, begging her not to go, she left without hesitation, yearning for a free life.
On the first day of school, she met Yu Heyi. Yu Heyi seemed very familiar with Xijing High School, warm, and enthusiastic. Yu Heyi probably didn’t even remember, but that day, she gave every classmate a piece of candy, including Chi Ruixi.
It was almost love at first sight. Chi Ruixi fell for the girl with the warm smile. The candy Yu Heyi gave her was sweet, but Chi Ruixi thought Yu Heyi was sweeter.
Even though, later, Yu Heyi completely forgot about it and would never guess that Chi Ruixi still kept the candy wrapper.
“What are you thinking about?” Chi Ruixi looked up to see Yu Heyi smiling at her, and she zoned out for a moment. Yu Heyi’s features had matured compared to before, but that smile seemed unchanged.
Even though Yu Heyi rarely smiled at her during their three years of high school, Chi Ruixi had seen her smile many times.
She fell deeper with every smile, jealous that those smiles weren’t for her. But now, Yu Heyi’s smiles belonged only to her.
Suddenly, she felt a bit regretful. She had been too cold to Yu Heyi before, holding onto that one comment. Back then, even a single smile from Yu Heyi felt like a luxury, and now Yu Heyi’s smiles were just for her.
“I’ll eat, I’ll eat. Here, you have some too.” She picked up the biggest piece of pork rib for Yu Heyi, smiling sweetly.
Chi Ruixi seemed in a great mood, but Yu Heyi was a bit caught off guard. Why was she suddenly so happy?
She picked up two more ribs for Chi Ruixi. “You need to eat more to recover. This one’s enough for me, don’t give me more.” Yu Heyi covered her bowl while speaking.
Then she started piling food onto Chi Ruixi’s plate.
“I can do it myself. You eat too.” Chi Ruixi looked at her plate, practically a mountain of food. She couldn’t possibly finish it all.
After dinner, Yu Heyi took the initiative to wash the dishes, saying to Chi Ruixi, “I saw you were watching a drama earlier. Go ahead and keep watching.”
That reminded Chi Ruixi of the drama, and her face flushed.
If Yu Heyi found out that a thirty-year-old like her was watching a drama meant for young girls…
Just thinking about it was embarrassing.
So Chi Ruixi cleared her throat and said, “I’ll keep you company.”
“No need. I’ll handle the dishes from now on.”
“From now on?” Chi Ruixi’s tone carried a hint of doubt. Yu Heyi, washing dishes, turned back with a smile and said, “Yeah, from now on. Since we’re married, you know.”
“Living together right away might feel a bit awkward, but since we’re working on our relationship, I think we should have dinner together from now on.”
“What do you think?” Yu Heyi asked while washing, but Chi Ruixi didn’t answer. Yu Heyi stopped, leaned over to look at her, and saw her head lowered, lost in thought.
“You don’t want to?” Yu Heyi’s voice had a hint of grievance.
Chi Ruixi looked up and said, “Sure.”
Then she went back to the sofa to watch her drama.
But the corners of her mouth curved up slightly. How could she not want to? She really wanted to.
Even if Yu Heyi wanted to move in together right away, she’d be fine with it.
But an Omega has to be reserved. She wanted Yu Heyi to say it first. If necessary, she could tempt Yu Heyi to say it.
Just like the Omega heroine in ‘The Overbearing Alpha CEO’s Little Wife Runs Away Pregnant’. The alpha heroine was cold to the Omega at first, but in the end, it was the alpha who got all clingy.
Chi Ruixi didn’t have much experience with relationships, so lately, she’d been applying what she learned from years of watching dramas to Yu Heyi.
Take this drama, for example. She thought the alpha heroine was a lot like Yu Heyi.
The Omega heroine had always liked the alpha heroine but acted aloof and distant.
And the Omega heroine’s famous line was: ‘To make someone fall for you, keep them guessing.’
Before, Chi Ruixi wasn’t sure, but now she felt like it was working.
Fully immersed in the drama, Chi Ruixi kept learning.
Now, the alpha heroine knew the Omega had run away with her “ball,” but the once-obedient Omega had become very cold.
In this episode, another alpha appeared by the Omega heroine’s side. The alpha heroine saw it, got furious, scolded the other alpha, and pinned the Omega against the wall.
“You’re my Omega. I don’t like you talking to other alphas, or even looking at them.” The alpha heroine held the Omega tightly, while the Omega struggled.
“We’re not together. You’re overstepping.”
The alpha heroine kissed the Omega, hard.
Yu Heyi, standing behind the sofa, had a twisted expression. Chi Ruixi liked this kind of drama?
She started watching from the wall-pinning scene and didn’t know the earlier plot, but she got the gist of it—playing hard to get, right?
So… Chi Ruixi was playing hard to get with her lately?
Cold at work, but eating the meals she cooked after work, blushing at her words, and today, they almost…
Did that.
Chi Ruixi, engrossed in the drama, had no idea Yu Heyi had seen through her.
Watching intently, the Omega heroine finally pushed the alpha heroine away.
Chi Ruixi decided she’d do the same next time Yu Heyi kissed her.
But Yu Heyi couldn’t take it anymore. She spoke softly, “Chi Ruixi…”
Chi Ruixi, absorbed in the show, jumped at her voice, trembling slightly. She quickly regained composure and turned off the TV.
The calmer Chi Ruixi acted, the more unsettled Yu Heyi felt.
“You like this kind of drama?” Yu Heyi finally asked.
Caught, Chi Ruixi admitted it openly. Though her experience came from watching these kinds of dramas, she had seen so many that her theoretical knowledge was solid.
And after putting it into practice recently, she felt she was doing pretty well.
She beckoned Yu Heyi with a finger, signaling her to come closer.
But Yu Heyi didn’t move. Chi Ruixi wasn’t in a rush and waited quietly. After a moment, she saw Yu Heyi move.
Yu Heyi took two steps and leaned against the sofa. Chi Ruixi knelt on the sofa, her hands gently rubbing Yu Heyi’s neck glands, her eyes blinking as she asked, “Who’s prettier, me or that Omega just now?”
Yu Heyi felt her body go weak, trembling as she said, “You’re prettier…”
Then, just as Yu Heyi thought Chi Ruixi was about to kiss her, Chi Ruixi suddenly let go, her expression turning indifferent, her tone even more so.
“Done washing? You should head back.”
Yu Heyi was now certain Chi Ruixi was deliberately teasing her.
So, Chi Ruixi liked wall-pinning?
Fine, sofa-pinning it is.
Yu Heyi swung her long leg over, straddling the sofa, and pinned Chi Ruixi down in a sofa-pin.
Mimicking the drama, she propped one hand by Chi Ruixi’s face, gently stroking her cheek, her tone taking on a learned edge.
“You’re my Omega now, so…”
Chi Ruixi, pinned beneath her, blinked and burst out laughing.
“Hahaha…”
Her laughter threw Yu Heyi off.
Why wasn’t Chi Ruixi following the script?
Whatever. Yu Heyi didn’t care if she was laughing and kissed her anyway.
She’d wanted to kiss her since before dinner, so now she kissed hard, nibbling her lips, her hand pinching her earlobe.
Gradually, Chi Ruixi melted into the kiss. Who could resist being kissed like this by someone they liked? Chi Ruixi certainly couldn’t.
They kissed for a long time until breathing became difficult. Yu Heyi pulled back, panting, and said, “Chi Ruixi… I want…”
Chi Ruixi, also catching her breath but still rational, covered Yu Heyi’s mouth and said, “No way… Didn’t we agree to take it slow?”
Take it slow? Damn taking it slow. Yu Heyi wanted to devour Chi Ruixi right then and there.
