After Going on a Blind Date With My Omega Love Rival (ABO, GL) - Chapter 39
Chapter 39
Yu Heyi, fueled by anger, stood at the classroom door again. She checked the time—it should be about time for class to end. Chi Ruixi was already starting to pack up her things.
This time, Yu Heyi didn’t stand too close. She positioned herself at the front of the classroom where she could see Chi Ruixi, but Chi Ruixi couldn’t see her.
After waiting about a minute, the bell rang. As students started streaming out, she stepped back a bit.
When she saw Chi Ruixi walk out, she stopped and waited for her to approach.
Chi Ruixi paused when she saw Yu Heyi, not expecting her to be waiting there again.
“Off work?” Chi Ruixi’s gentle voice made Yu Heyi zone out for a moment, her eyes fixating on the tear mole at the corner of Chi Ruixi’s eye.
“Yu Heyi?” Noticing her staring, Chi Ruixi called out again.
Yu Heyi snapped out of it, turning her face away uncomfortably before quickly looking back.
She had come to see Chi Ruixi for a reason. While standing at the door, she had already decided to ask why Chi Ruixi called her a fool and to find out just how many people were drawn to her.
An alpha’s possessiveness was strong. She couldn’t stand others coveting her Omega.
Grabbing Chi Ruixi’s hand, she started walking. Chi Ruixi, trailing behind, asked where they were going, but Yu Heyi didn’t answer. She led her downstairs toward the parking lot.
Chi Ruixi’s strength was no match for hers. She struggled a bit at first but then let Yu Heyi pull her along, knowing further resistance might hurt her.
Yu Heyi led her to the car, let go of her hand, and said, “Get in. We’re going home.”
Looking at Yu Heyi’s current state, Chi Ruixi found it both exasperating and amusing. Dragging her out of nowhere and now saying they’re going home?
“I’m not off work yet.”
“…” Yu Heyi felt a bit embarrassed. She had forgotten Chi Ruixi wasn’t done for the day.
“I’m heading back.” Chi Ruixi turned to leave, but Yu Heyi grabbed her. “Wait a second.”
“What now?” Chi Ruixi’s tone was a bit helpless.
“You don’t have more classes, right?”
“No.”
“Then why go back? If you’re done, come home with me.” Yu Heyi held her hand tightly, trying to pull her along.
Chi Ruixi couldn’t make sense of her. No contact all day, and now she was dragging her off?
Her face cooled at the thought.
So her tone turned cold too.
“What exactly do you want?”
Honestly, Yu Heyi wasn’t sure what she wanted either, but she had a vague, immature idea. She lowered her head, avoiding Chi Ruixi’s cold expression.
Softly, she said, “I have an immature thought. Not sure if I should say it.”
Chi Ruixi almost laughed from frustration. Yu Heyi’s current demeanor made it seem like she was the one being bullied.
And she was finding Yu Heyi harder to understand. She couldn’t figure out how Yu Heyi viewed their relationship. It felt close at times, yet there was always a distance. Sometimes, Yu Heyi was overly good to her.
This feeling scared her. She was afraid.
Afraid she was overthinking.
But she had to admit, this Yu Heyi made her heart feel unusually content.
Of course, she hoped Yu Heyi liked her—only her.
Chi Ruixi admitted she was greedy. Unlike her, who had liked Yu Heyi for years, how long had Yu Heyi been interested in her?
Yet she felt wronged and didn’t want to give Yu Heyi a kind look, saying coldly, “What do you want?”
To Yu Heyi, it seemed Chi Ruixi was getting impatient with her.
She thought Chi Ruixi was going to chase after those random alphas outside.
Yu Heyi suddenly looked up, stepped closer—so close she could hug her.
And then… she did, wrapping her arms around Chi Ruixi’s waist, their bodies pressed tightly together.
Chi Ruixi was startled by the sudden move, instinctively trying to break free. But seeing the look in Yu Heyi’s eyes, she relaxed. Yu Heyi’s eyes were filled with intense possessiveness.
Then she felt Yu Heyi’s pheromones drift out. They were so close that the oolong tea scent filled Chi Ruixi’s senses bit by bit.
Her glands felt hot, her body weak. Forget not wanting to break free—she didn’t even have the strength to try.
Yu Heyi was using her alpha pheromones to control her.
It made Chi Ruixi unable to hold back her own pheromones, wanting to respond to her.
Her voice trembled, and the books in her hands fell to the ground.
“Yu Heyi, what are you doing?”
But Yu Heyi seemed not to hear, tightening her grip, wanting to hold Chi Ruixi fiercely, never letting her go.
Sniffing at her neck, Yu Heyi savored the peach scent. Her voice was hoarse as she spoke, “Chi Ruixi…”
“Hm…?” Chi Ruixi’s response carried a nasal tone, startling herself. She looked up at Yu Heyi, seeing even stronger possessiveness in her eyes. The fabric of Yu Heyi’s casual pants rubbed against her leg, rough and uncomfortable.
Yu Heyi didn’t speak, biting her earlobe. Chi Ruixi let out a whimper, feeling her glands burn hotter. The inhibitor patch made her even more uncomfortable.
“Chi Ruixi, come home with me. I want to hide you away.”
Hide you, so no other alpha can see you, so you’ll only ever belong to me.
When Yu Heyi said this, Chi Ruixi felt her heart pound hard, so fast it was overwhelming. Then Yu Heyi’s pheromones hit her senses even more fiercely.
Even if Yu Heyi wanted to do anything now, Chi Ruixi felt she wouldn’t refuse.
Yu Heyi touched her earlobe again and repeated, “Come home with me, okay?”
Chi Ruixi nodded obediently. How could she refuse Yu Heyi now?
All her refusals were just bravado. Her heart had long belonged to Yu Heyi.
This Chi Ruixi was so obedient. Yu Heyi leaned down and kissed the corner of her mouth.
Yu Heyi led the compliant Chi Ruixi, just two steps from the car, when Chi Ruixi’s phone rang.
The pheromones’ effect faded, and Chi Ruixi’s eyes cleared. She answered the phone.
“Teacher Zhao?”
“Okay, I’ll be right there.”
She let go of Yu Heyi’s hand. It was as if the soft, obedient Chi Ruixi from moments ago was an illusion. The sudden call snapped Yu Heyi out of it too.
Retracting her pheromones, she realized what she’d done. She had used her pheromones to suppress Chi Ruixi.
Without the pheromones’ interference, Chi Ruixi reverted to her aloof demeanor. Yu Heyi felt deflated, as if she could only affect Chi Ruixi with pheromones.
If she saw Chi Ruixi’s still-red earlobes, she wouldn’t think that.
At home, Chi Ruixi wouldn’t mind this, but… doing it outside wasn’t great.
So her expression remained cool as she said to Yu Heyi, “Teacher Zhao called. I need to go back. You head home first.”
To Yu Heyi, Chi Ruixi seemed clearly unhappy.
Yu Heyi felt regret. Only after snapping out of it did she realize what she’d done.
How had she lost control?
It wasn’t even her susceptible period. Why couldn’t she control herself?
Susceptible period… Yu Heyi thought about it. It seemed her susceptible period was approaching.
Because of Chi Ruixi’s heat cycle, her susceptible period had come early twice before. This time… it seemed to align with her usual cycle.
Knowing she’d messed up, Yu Heyi apologized immediately. “I didn’t mean to. I think my susceptible period is coming.”
For some reason, Chi Ruixi felt a twinge of disappointment. Though she had been influenced by Yu Heyi’s pheromones, she had heard her words clearly.
Wanting to take her home, hide her away.
If only Yu Heyi had said that while clear-headed.
“Alright, I get it. You were just talking nonsense.” Feeling irritated, Chi Ruixi’s tone was sharp.
But that made Yu Heyi uncomfortable. Though she wasn’t fully clear-headed, those words were what she truly felt.
Anxiously, she tried to explain. “I wasn’t talking nonsense. Those were my true thoughts.”
“Then say it again.”
“I want to take you home, hide you away, so only I can see you.”
Chi Ruixi’s heart bloomed with joy, but she feigned distress. “What can I do? I have a meeting to attend. I can’t go home with you now.”
“Then I’ll… go use an inhibitor.” Her glands felt hot, and Yu Heyi was uncomfortable. She had inhibitors in her car, but if Chi Ruixi soothed her, it might work better.
Chi Ruixi brushed her hair back, saying gently, “Use the inhibitor for now. Tonight, when we’re home, I’ll help you…”
Help you soothe…
She only got halfway before her neck turned red, and she couldn’t look at Yu Heyi anymore.
Yu Heyi clearly caught her meaning, saying excitedly, “You said you’d help me?”
Her gaze was bold and warm, making Chi Ruixi feel pierced by it.
Blushing, she said, “You heard what you heard. I’m going to the meeting.”
“I’ll wait for you.”
Chi Ruixi felt like a little girl, her emotions swinging with Yu Heyi’s words.
She became irritable, yet so easily satisfied.
Her face felt hot—she didn’t know if Yu Heyi noticed. Her heart had raced when Yu Heyi held her earlier.
“You should go home and use the inhibitor…” Halfway through, Yu Heyi cut her off. “I have some in the car. I’ll use it now. Go to your meeting. I’ll wait here, and we’ll go grocery shopping together.” She picked up Chi Ruixi’s dropped books, dusted them off, and tucked them into her arms.
Yu Heyi’s tone was urgent, as if worried Chi Ruixi would tell her to go home. She not only handed her the books but also gave her a gentle push to hurry her along, then ran to her car. Her glands felt like they were burning. Her usual susceptible periods were never this intense, but after being triggered by Chi Ruixi’s pheromones, Yu Heyi felt like she was going crazy. She needed an inhibitor to calm down. In her mind, she couldn’t help thinking that if they were home, she’d pin Chi Ruixi down.
Pushed forward a couple of steps, Chi Ruixi turned back to look at her, amused by Yu Heyi’s hurried pace.
