The awkwardness was fleeting. Yu Heyi exchanged a glance with Chi Ying, then turned to leave. Chi Ruixi was still waiting at her door, holding clothes.

Yu Heyi closed the door, walked to her own place, and entered the passcode.

Actually… their passcodes were the same: 0925, Yu Heyi’s birthday.

She didn’t hide the code from Chi Ruixi as she entered it. Once inside, she said, “The code’s the same as yours. You can come in next time.”

Chi Ruixi, clutching her clothes, nodded and headed to the bathroom to shower.

She looked in the mirror for a moment, then took off her nearly soaked jacket. She was wearing the jacket Yu Heyi had given her, while the one she’d grabbed went to Chi Ying.

Glancing at the bathtub, she thought she’d love a soak if circumstances allowed.

But… better wash up quickly and get out.

Meanwhile, Yu Heyi was in the kitchen boiling water, wondering if she should make something to eat. She didn’t know if Chi Ying had eaten, and Chi Ruixi’s small dinner had probably worn off.

Better ask Chi Ruixi. She walked to the bathroom door, wondering why there was still no sound of water after Chi Ruixi had been in there a while.

Chi Ruixi, just removing her last piece of clothing, heard Yu Heyi and instinctively covered her chest with her clothes. “What’s up?”

“Oh, nothing. Just didn’t hear anything, so I checked.”

“I… was just about to start.”

Hearing this, Yu Heyi didn’t say more, thinking, fair enough. She showered quickly, but that didn’t mean Chi Ruixi did.

As she turned to leave, she remembered she forgot to ask about food.

“Ruixi, soup noodles or zhajiang noodles?”

After asking, she didn’t get an immediate reply. It took a moment for Chi Ruixi’s voice to come, sounding oddly small.

“Either’s fine…”

“Oh, what about Chi Ying?”

“She’s fine with either too.”

Alright, zhajiang noodles then. It’d been a while since she had them.

Hearing Yu Heyi’s footsteps fade, Chi Ruixi let out a breath. She didn’t know why, but despite everything they’d done, she still felt shy.

Even… a bit expectant. Her face flushed at the thought, wondering why she kept thinking such random things.

Yu Heyi had just finished making mushroom meat sauce when Chi Ruixi emerged from the shower, her face rosy from the heat.

“Done? Drink the brown sugar ginger tea first. I’m gonna shower.”

Before Chi Ruixi could respond, Yu Heyi was at the bathroom door when Chi Ruixi suddenly called out.

“Heyi…”

Yu Heyi turned back, seeing Chi Ruixi biting her lip, cheeks still flushed, and asked, puzzled, “What’s wrong?”

“Can you wait a sec before going in?… I…” Chi Ruixi stammered, embarrassed.

Her clothes were still in the bathroom…

“We’ll talk after I shower.”

Inside, Yu Heyi started undressing, about to hang her clothes, when she saw a set of black lace underwear casually placed on the rack. Her face suddenly burned, and weird thoughts crept in.

No wonder… Chi Ruixi had seemed off earlier.

While showering, Yu Heyi’s eyes kept drifting to the clothes. Her mind replayed Chi Ruixi’s slender waist, soft and delicate to the touch.

Soon, she caught a faint whiff of her own oolong tea scent.

“Chi Ruixi, come here!!”

Chi Ruixi got up, walking to the bathroom door, her heart pounding. Yu Heyi’s tone didn’t sound good. Did she think it was intentional flirting?

“I… forgot pajamas. Can you grab some, and underwear from the bottom left of the wardrobe?”

“Okay.”

Chi Ruixi fetched pajamas and underwear, returning to find Yu Heyi had cracked the door open, her hand sticking out to take them.

“Here.”

Soon, Yu Heyi came out dressed. They locked eyes, then both looked away. Yu Heyi went to the kitchen for a brown sugar ginger tea. Chi Ruixi seized the moment to slip into the bathroom and grab her underwear.

As she came out holding them, Yu Heyi was waiting at the door.

Yu Heyi stepped forward, pulling Chi Ruixi into her arms.

Their bodies collided, and Chi Ruixi couldn’t help but feel Yu Heyi’s subtle softness. Her face burned like fire.

They’d done more intimate things, but somehow… she felt shy.

“What?”

“Why’s your passcode my birthday?”

After pulling apart, Chi Ruixi’s face returned to normal. She shot Yu Heyi an exasperated look before calling Chi Ying.
