After Going on a Blind Date With My Omega Love Rival (ABO, GL) - Chapter 60
Chapter 60
Yu Heyi, locked outside, was a bit stunned. Why was Chi Ruixi suddenly giving her the cold shoulder again?
Things were fine in the car. The mood was great, and Chi Ruixi had even initiated a kiss. Now she was acting like she didn’t know her?
…She was the one who teased, and now she was the one embarrassed.
Yu Heyi had hit the nail on the head. When it was just the two of them, Chi Ruixi was more open, but when someone—especially a younger relative like Chi Ying—caught her, she could only avoid Yu Heyi.
Out of sight, she could pretend nothing happened…
After shutting the door, Chi Ruixi didn’t go to the living room. She leaned against the door for a moment, hand over her chest, thinking she’d definitely wear more conservative pajamas from now on.
Another thought was stronger: if only Chi Ying would go home…
Then she wouldn’t feel so awkward.
“Auntie? Was that Uncle?”
Chi Ying had faintly heard the doorbell while showering. When she came out, she saw her aunt by the door, face flushed…
Did her uncle do something to her aunt again?
Otherwise, why so shy?
“Uncle did something to you again…”
“Shut up!”
…How to put it? Though Chi Ruixi’s tone was sharp, Chi Ying could tell from her expression that it was mostly embarrassment.
After snapping at her, Chi Ruixi felt a bit guilty, but what was done was done. She could only change the subject.
“Why didn’t you dry your hair?” She grabbed the hairdryer and went to Chi Ying’s side. Chi Ying obediently let her dry her hair.
“Your hair’s getting long. Time for a trim?” Chi Ruixi touched Chi Ying’s soft, short, choppy hair, which was neat but lately had grown out, with the bangs and back a bit frizzy.
“Yeah… I’ll go get it trimmed tomorrow if I’m free.”
“When are you going to grow it out?”
When Chi Ying was little, she had long hair like Chi Ruixi’s, both sporting the same straight, black style. After Chi Ruixi went to school, she couldn’t style it for her anymore. Chi Ying, just a kid, couldn’t manage it, so Chi Ruixi cut it short.
“Then when are you going back to your old hairstyle, Auntie?”
“Hm?”
“Auntie, I think your old hairstyle was pretty.”
Chi Ruixi now had slightly wavy hair, not as long as before. Chi Ying touched it, sighing, “Auntie, I remember when we had the same hairstyle as kids.”
Chi Ruixi smiled fondly. “Yeah, you insisted on copying my hairstyle back then. You were so tiny, your hair practically covered you.”
Chi Ying giggled, but her expression soon turned downcast. “But after you went to high school, no one did my hair anymore.”
Chi Ruixi patted her head, saying tenderly, “If you grow it out now, I can do your hair…”
Chi Ying’s eyes lit up, just like when she was little, but they dimmed quickly.
“Forget it, Auntie. I’m grown up now, and… you’ll probably have your own baby soon.”
Her tone was like an abandoned child’s, making Chi Ruixi’s heart ache. She hugged Chi Ying. Though Chi Ying was an alpha now, their pose was like old times, with Chi Ying’s head resting on Chi Ruixi’s chest, looking dependent.
After hugging for a bit, Chi Ruixi said, “Tomorrow, I’ll go with you to get your hair trimmed. Once my hair grows longer, I’ll go back to my old style.”
Chi Ruixi’s current waves were from a perm earlier this year. She didn’t love them…
She’d kept her straight, long hair until graduating university. After starting work, she got waves to look more mature.
After half a year, the waves were nearly straight again.
Back home, Yu Heyi sent Chi Ruixi a WeChat message but got no reply. Waiting until she was sleepy, she fell asleep on the couch.
The couch wasn’t comfortable, so she slept late, waking past 10. First thing, she went to knock on Chi Ruixi’s door.
After knocking for a while with no response, she called Chi Ruixi. It rang for ages before connecting.
“Where are you?” Yu Heyi’s tone was urgent. Before Chi Ruixi could answer, she asked, “When did you leave?”
“Uncle…” Instead of Chi Ruixi, Chi Ying’s voice came through.
Embarrassed by her eagerness, Yu Heyi coughed. “Ahem, what are you and your aunt up to?”
“We’re at the hair salon.”
“Where?”
“We’re at…”
“Don’t tell her, Chi Ying.” Chi Ying’s words were cut off by Chi Ruixi’s voice, cold like last night.
Then the call ended.
Yu Heyi didn’t call back but messaged Chi Ying on WeChat.
[Yu Heyi]: “What’s up with your aunt?”
[Chi Ying]: “I want to ask you. What did you do to my aunt?”
Yu Heyi felt awkward. How could she tell Chi Ying that after last night’s antics, her aunt was upset?
But Chi Ying was more direct.
[Chi Ying]: “Did you hurt my aunt yesterday?”
Heaven’s sake, she didn’t. Chi Ruixi… seemed to enjoy it.
Yu Heyi didn’t know how to reply.
At the salon, Chi Ruixi urged Chi Ying to go, as the stylist was waiting.
“Wait a sec, Auntie.”
[Chi Ying]: “Uncle, my aunt’s easily embarrassed. The cold act is fake. Strike while the iron’s hot and make a little cousin quick!!!”
“Chi Ying, what are you doing? Messaging Yu Heyi?” Chi Ruixi saw her grin and knew something was off.
Caught, Chi Ying forced calm. “No way, I’m chatting with Zhan Yuan.”
Sorry, Zhan Yuan, I can’t tell the truth…
Knowing the child she raised, Chi Ruixi saw through her but didn’t call her out.
“Hurry up, they’re waiting.”
“Okay~~”
Receiving Chi Ying’s message, Yu Heyi perked up. She’d guessed Chi Ruixi was shy, despite teasing her so boldly before.
Getting shy after succeeding—what was that about? But it was true.
Chi Ying’s words hit home. Having a little cousin for Chi Ying’s sake—Chi Ruixi wouldn’t be that opposed, right?
They’d been intimate a few times, during Chi Ruixi’s heat, with high chances of pregnancy, but no signs yet. She’d have to try harder!
Yu Heyi didn’t care about face-slapping anymore. Her wife was more important.
Lately, she was with Chi Ruixi almost daily. Not seeing her for a day made Yu Heyi restless.
She took out the couple’s mug from yesterday’s purchases, placed it on the coffee table, and stared at it.
Near noon, she messaged Chi Ying to ask if she’d be back for lunch. Chi Ying replied that Chi Ruixi was taking her out to eat and shop.
Yu Heyi was free again. She ate a quick lunch, then planned to hit the supermarket to cook something nice for dinner. She messaged Chi Ying to ask what she liked to eat.
Preferably something Chi Ruixi liked too.
Chi Ying thought for a while and said her aunt and she both liked seafood, especially lobster.
Yu Heyi was surprised. She wasn’t sure if Chi Ruixi liked all seafood, but last time they had barbecue, she suggested a pound of lobster, and Chi Ruixi refused.
Still… Chi Ying was someone to please too, right?
So Yu Heyi bought two pounds of lobster, plus crab and shrimp.
Back home, she tied on an apron and got cooking, bustling away.
It was July, and Yu Heyi felt like she was in a steamer…
When Du Ruo video-called, Yu Heyi had just put the lobster in the pot. Sweating, she tied her hair into a small bun, damp strands sticking to her face.
“Heyi baby, what’re you doing?” In the video, Du Ruo wore a red V-neck dress, lounging sexily on a couch. Old Yu wasn’t around, probably at work.
So why was she dressed so… provocatively alone?
“Cooking, can’t you tell?” Yu Heyi’s tone was a bit dismissive, sensing her mommy was about to be dramatic.
With Du Ruo’s syrupy tone, Yu Heyi never had patience. If she played along, they’d go on forever, and Old Yu would scold her.
Years of experience taught her that.
Yu Heyi showed Du Ruo the ingredients. After seeing them, Du Ruo’s face turned dramatic…
Pouting pitifully, she whined, “Heyi baby, why don’t you cook this much for Mommy?”
…She knew it.
Drama queen Mommy, always online.
“Wasn’t the egg fried rice I made you delicious?”
“How’s egg fried rice this lavish!!” Du Ruo got excited, her soft curves jiggling.
Yu Heyi couldn’t bear to look.
“Go ask your alpha to cook for you. This is for my wife.” As Du Ruo pouted, about to say more, Yu Heyi hung up.
She got back to cooking.
Around 5 p.m., Chi Ying messaged that they were downstairs.
Yu Heyi plated the last dish, untied her apron, and headed to the door.
Opening it, she saw the two laden with bags. Seeing Chi Ruixi, her eyes lit up. Chi Ruixi’s hair was straightened, pure and captivating, making Yu Heyi’s heart race.
“I’ll take your bags.” Yu Heyi reached for Chi Ruixi’s packages, her fawning expression obvious. Chi Ying snickered and dangled her bag in front of Yu Heyi.
“Uncle, this is for you.”
“Hm?”
Chi Ruixi glared at Chi Ying, who pretended not to notice and said to Yu Heyi, “This is from my aunt for you.”
