After Going on a Blind Date With My Omega Love Rival (ABO, GL) - Chapter 67
Chapter 67
Yu Heyi and Chi Ruixi were walking side by side until Teacher Zhao called Chi Ruixi over, leaving Yu Heyi to trail behind slowly, with no intention of catching up.
But Du Sheng had other ideas, even calling her name.
“Hey…” Yu Heyi’s response was half-hearted—she was used to being casual with her uncle. But seeing Teacher Zhao’s face, pale one moment, red the next, practically splitting… well, then…
She suddenly called out sweetly, “Uncle!”
If it wouldn’t ruin her image, she’d have cooed “dear uncle” like a spoiled kid.
As expected, Teacher Zhao panicked…
Du Sheng didn’t think much of it, but Chi Ruixi knew exactly what Yu Heyi was up to. She glanced at Teacher Zhao, whose face had changed dramatically…
How could he not panic? He was freaking out, recalling what he’d said to Yu Heyi. He wiped nonexistent sweat from his forehead, forcing a strained smile at them.
“Principal?… This is your niece?” His voice trembled at the end.
Where was the arrogance he’d shown Yu Heyi earlier?
He looked like a groveling dog.
Yu Heyi didn’t even glance at him. Snob.
But Du Sheng, clueless, brightened at the mention of his precious niece, chuckling, “Yeah, my niece. Takes after me, right?”
With Yu Heyi or Du Ruo, Du Sheng wasn’t the steady, reliable alpha he usually was—he turned into some kind of show-off.
As a kid, he bragged about Du Ruo; now, it was Yu Heyi.
He had no idea his darling niece had just been thoroughly insulted by the Teacher Zhao standing before him.
If he knew, Teacher Zhao’s little schemes would be toast.
“She does, so much like you—outstanding!” Teacher Zhao’s smile was painfully forced, sneaking a glance at Yu Heyi, terrified she’d spill about earlier.
Seeing his shifty eyes, Yu Heyi knew he was up to no good, probably worried she’d make trouble for him.
“Outstanding? A cafeteria cook—what’s outstanding about that?”
Teacher Zhao’s heart raced, his face freezing.
“What are you talking about?” He wiped sweat again, his voice weak.
Yu Heyi pressed further. “So, do I match well with Teacher Chi?”
“Match… perfectly.” Teacher Zhao’s face was ashen. Du Sheng sensed something off, frowning at him. Teacher Zhao, panicked under his gaze, swallowed hard.
“Principal, you chat with them. I’ll go arrange things.” He bolted.
After he left, Du Sheng asked Yu Heyi what happened. She smiled, saying it was nothing, then teased, “I heard from Mommy you’re getting a little aunt?”
Last week, Du Ruo had told her about a family-arranged blind date. Her uncle, nearing forty, was still single, driving her grandparents crazy. They’d introduced him to plenty of quality omegas over the years, but he liked none.
He’d say they weren’t as good as his sister, or even Yu Heyi.
Her grandfather was furious, so they took a different route, leading to Du Sheng’s blind date, which was going… somewhat well.
The match was a male omega.
It clicked for everyone—Du Sheng’s years of failed dates were because of the wrong gender.
Even Du Sheng hadn’t realized. He’d always compared female omegas to his sister, sometimes even Yu Heyi.
But with this male omega, he couldn’t compare, and they actually hit it off.
When Du Ruo gossiped to Yu Heyi, she sounded thrilled, though her story was a mess. Yu Heyi only caught one thing: she was getting a little aunt.
“Don’t talk nonsense, it’s not set yet.” At his age, being teased by Yu Heyi, especially in front of Chi Ruixi, made Du Sheng blush. They’d been together less than two weeks—way too soon.
“Who says it’s too soon to marry?”
“How is it not? I married Chi Ruixi.”
Yu Heyi wanted the world to know Chi Ruixi was her omega, legally hers.
If Chi Ruixi hadn’t pinched her waist after that, she’d have been even happier.
“Why’d you pinch me? Was I wrong?” Yu Heyi looked at Chi Ruixi, a bit aggrieved. Her expression only made Chi Ruixi, already awkward, more so.
Unexpectedly, the usually composed Vice-Principal Du laughed like a goof, patting Yu Heyi’s head. “You little rascal, pretty capable, huh? Snagged Teacher Chi so fast.”
Snagged…
Chi Ruixi frowned slightly. Why did it sound off?
Clearly… she’d snagged Yu Heyi, right?
She didn’t speak. Du Sheng thought she was shy, teasing, “Don’t be shy, Xiao Chi… get along well with Heyi.”
Chi Ruixi pursed her lips, nodded.
The guesthouse had three floors, all booked. When the three entered, Teacher Zhao had already arranged the rooms. Floors one and two had twin-bed rooms for students; floor three had king-bed rooms for teachers and families.
As they climbed to the third floor, Teacher Zhao came running over.
“Principal Du, the room at the end is for you.” His smile was so forced it creased his face.
Yu Heyi noticed only the room by the stairs and the one at the end were empty; the rest were taken.
The place was clean, so it didn’t matter much where they stayed. What mattered was tonight, she’d share a bed with Chi Ruixi…
“Principal Du, your room has an outdoor hot spring and a small living room.”
It was the best room in the guesthouse.
As the top leader, Du Sheng getting the best room was fair, but he doted on his niece.
“Heyi, you and Xiao Chi take that room. I’ll take this one.” He pointed to the room by the stairs, door open. Du Sheng glanced inside.
A standard hotel king-bed room, decently clean.
“I’ll stay here. You two go.” He started moving his luggage, already placed by the third-floor stairs, ready to take it in.
Teacher Zhao glanced at Yu Heyi and Chi Ruixi, hesitating, instinctively stepping to stop Du Sheng.
Yu Heyi and Chi Ruixi exchanged a look. They didn’t care where they stayed, as long as it was clean.
“Little Uncle, we’ll take this one. It might be noisier here at night.” She gave Chi Ruixi a look, who chimed in, “Yeah, Principal, you take that one.”
Du Sheng paused with his suitcase, turning back displeased. “Didn’t I tell you to call me like Heyi does?”
His tone was slightly stern. Chi Ruixi froze, confused, glancing at Yu Heyi.
She didn’t know Du Sheng well and had no idea why he was suddenly upset.
But Yu Heyi knew her uncle. Holding Chi Ruixi’s hand, she said, annoyed, “You’re scaring my wife!”
Her words drew varied reactions. Chi Ruixi lowered her head, shy, trying to pull her hand free. Du Sheng looked at Yu Heyi, stunned.
Teacher Zhao… his face was a kaleidoscope.
First shock and anger, then, remembering Du Sheng’s status, he quickly reined it in. His expression was indescribable, but no one cared.
“Heyi’s so protective of her wife, your little uncle’s getting jealous.”
Drama queen, total drama queen. The Du family were all drama queens. Yu Heyi saw through his act but didn’t call him out with Teacher Zhao there. She pushed him, then pulled Chi Ruixi into the room.
After Chi Ruixi went in, Yu Heyi returned to the door for their luggage.
Du Sheng and Teacher Zhao were still there. Ignoring them, she grabbed Chi Ruixi’s small suitcase and her backpack, shutting the door.
As soon as they were inside, Chi Ruixi said, “Is it okay to treat the principal like that?”
Yu Heyi was puzzled. What was wrong? How was it wrong?
That’s how she always handled drama queens.
Pfft, Du Ruo and Du Sheng. Ignore them, and they’d snap back to normal.
So, Yu Heyi thought it was fine.
“No big deal. I’ve played with my little uncle since I was a kid. We’re used to it.”
She wasn’t wrong. Not just her—Du Sheng was used to it too.
Soon, they heard noises outside as Du Sheng took his stuff and left.
Yu Heyi raised an eyebrow at Chi Ruixi. “See, I was right.”
Chi Ruixi glanced at her, saying nothing, and opened her suitcase, hanging up clothes and digging for pajamas. After nearly a morning on the bus, she was tired and wanted a shower and nap.
As she pulled out her pajamas, she didn’t notice Yu Heyi’s gaze. Heading to the bathroom, she caught Yu Heyi staring at her pajamas.
“What?”
Yu Heyi had expected Chi Ruixi to bring the seductive pajamas she’d worn before, not this cotton T-shirt and shorts set…
It didn’t fit the Teacher Chi in her mind.
Her gaze shifted from the pajamas to Chi Ruixi. Blinking, she didn’t voice her thoughts, just mumbled, “Nothing, go shower.”
…Weird. Chi Ruixi took the pajamas and went in.
Chi Ruixi wasn’t the only one tired—Yu Heyi was too. When Chi Ruixi finished showering, Yu Heyi grabbed her pajamas and went in.
After a quick rinse, she returned to find Chi Ruixi lying on her side by the bed’s edge, back to her, silent. Thinking she was asleep, Yu Heyi climbed in quietly, but as she lay down, Chi Ruixi moved.
“You’re not asleep?”
“Mm… not yet.” Chi Ruixi’s voice was lazy, drowsy.
“Then sleep a bit.” Yu Heyi pulled a light summer blanket over her. Though it was summer, the mountains were cool.
After covering her, Chi Ruixi’s leg shifted, and Yu Heyi’s gaze followed.
Chi Ruixi’s legs were so white and long…
