After Going on a Blind Date With My Omega Love Rival (ABO, GL) - Chapter 72
Chapter 72
After being teased for a while, Chi Ruixi, covering her reddened lips, finally shooed Yu Heyi out.
This time, Yu Heyi was very obedient, having already gotten her sweet reward. She left willingly, thinking it was a good chance to take a stroll.
When she reached Du Sheng’s room, she knocked on the door. A moment later, Du Sheng, holding his phone, came to open it.
It had to be said, Du Sheng’s room was much more spacious than the others—a big bed, a sofa, and even a hot spring, though it wasn’t much use in summer, it’d be great in winter.
Du Sheng was still on the phone. Yu Heyi sat on the sofa, waiting for him.
“It’s my niece who came by. I’ll introduce you to her sometime,” Du Sheng said in a much softer tone than usual, his face even lit up with a bright smile.
He was probably talking to his little boyfriend.
“I’ve got to go now, baby,” he said, blowing a kiss into the phone.
Yu Heyi, watching this greasy old man, nearly gagged.
Du Sheng, still on the call, glared at her, said a quick goodbye to the other person, and hung up.
“What’s wrong with you? Pregnant or something?”
“What kind of nonsense are you talking?” Yu Heyi jabbed him with her elbow. Du Sheng’s words were just too ridiculous. Alphas could get pregnant, but the chances were slim, and generally, Alphas weren’t willing to bear children—it was too rare, unless it was an Alpha-Alpha relationship.
But… her partner was an Omega. How could he make such a joke!
“You’re the one being gross, okay? At your age, getting more and more greasy!!”
Du Sheng looked incredulous, pointing at himself. “Me, old? Greasy?”
Yu Heyi shrugged.
“You’re all lovey-dovey with your wife too, aren’t you?”
Yu Heyi didn’t back down. “Like you said, that’s my wife. You, on the other hand…”
“She’s my wife too!!”
“Tch~” Yu Heyi scoffed, which made Du Sheng even angrier. He grabbed his phone, ready to call his little Omega to confirm their relationship.
“Alright, Uncle, you’re so old, why so childish??”
Yu Heyi didn’t want to argue with this immature guy anymore. She crossed her legs and asked, “Did you prepare the stuff I asked for?”
“Of course. Here, car keys.” Du Sheng tossed them to her.
Yu Heyi had come just to check if the stuff was ready. After getting the keys, she didn’t stay longer and left.
But as she was leaving, she remembered her future aunt-in-law.
“Get along well with my future aunt-in-law. Mom and I are waiting for your wedding invite.”
Du Sheng laughed and cursed at her, but after she left, he still called his boyfriend.
Back in the room, Chi Ruixi had finished showering and was sitting on the bed, drying her hair. She glanced at Yu Heyi when she came in, then acted like nothing happened.
Yu Heyi, unusually, didn’t tease her further and grabbed some clothes to take a quick shower.
Dinner was provided by the guesthouse. There was a two-story building next to the third floor of the guesthouse. Students ate downstairs, while teachers and their families ate upstairs.
The most distinctive dish on the table was lamb soup, made with various lamb organs. Yu Heyi had tried it as a kid, but now… she wasn’t too keen on it.
Most people at the table barely touched it, mainly because it was too hot outside.
Some also didn’t like the lamb’s gamey taste.
But… Chi Ruixi loved it and kept drinking it.
“Don’t you think it’s hot?” Yu Heyi asked.
Hearing her, Chi Ruixi paused with the spoon in her hand and said lightly, “Hot is good, isn’t it? Tastes better hot.”
…Sis, that’s not what I meant.
Yu Heyi went quiet, watching Chi Ruixi sip the soup daintily. Seeing how much she enjoyed it, Yu Heyi took a couple of sips too—just two.
It was really too hot. She started sweating on her forehead, while Chi Ruixi showed no reaction.
As expected… Alphas had higher body temperatures than Omegas and felt the heat more.
The soup was good, but drinking it in summer was torture.
“Drink less. It’s too hot out, too much will make you uncomfortable,” Yu Heyi said quietly after noticing Chi Ruixi was still drinking.
Chi Ruixi nodded, took two more sips, and stopped.
There were plenty of cold dishes and stir-fries on the table, but they didn’t seem to suit Chi Ruixi’s taste. She didn’t eat much. Yu Heyi also found the food average, ate enough to not be hungry, and didn’t want more.
During dinner, the flirty couple in their ambiguous phase sat next to them again. The other teachers weren’t too familiar, so Chi Ruixi wasn’t teased this time.
But she was fed a ton of PDA.
The flirty couple acted like they wanted everyone to know they were a thing, feeding each other bite after bite.
They were even more lovey-dovey than before.
Yu Heyi even thought this summer camp had probably brought them together.
It was so sweet it made her a bit jealous. The Alpha teacher would pick up food, blow on it to cool it, and place it in the Omega teacher’s bowl.
…At first, Yu Heyi didn’t think much of it, but later she noticed Chi Ruixi’s expression wasn’t great.
Under the table, she hooked her finger around Chi Ruixi’s. Chi Ruixi looked at her, a bit confused. “???”
“I don’t think you’re full. Wanna go grab something else later?”
She smugly dangled the car keys Du Sheng gave her.
“We’ll drive.”
Chi Ruixi wanted to ask where she got the keys, but seeing the Mercedes logo, she realized it was Du Sheng’s car. Still, she wasn’t eager to go with Yu Heyi.
She said lightly, “We’ll see. I’m a bit tired.”
She was genuinely tired, not trying to brush off Yu Heyi. Even Yu Heyi, with her better stamina, felt tired too.
So Yu Heyi didn’t think much of it and said, “Rest for a bit, then we’ll go later.”
“Mm… okay.”
After dinner, Chi Ruixi went back to the room to rest, while Yu Heyi… went to find Du Sheng again.
Du Sheng hadn’t joined them for dinner; he’d eaten on his own. When Yu Heyi arrived, he was on a video call with his boyfriend.
Yu Heyi was really done. This was definitely her last visit; she wasn’t coming back.
…She sat on the same sofa, legs crossed, listening to her uncle being all mushy—oh, and her aunt-in-law too.
The male Omega’s voice was much softer than Du Sheng’s, with a hint of coyness. Yu Heyi felt uncomfortable listening, but her uncle… his face was practically glowing with joy.
This time, Du Sheng didn’t hang up quickly. Yu Heyi waited a while until the other person suggested ending the call, and Du Sheng finally hung up.
“What are you here for now?”
Du Sheng was annoyed, thinking Yu Heyi was interrupting. His boyfriend had noticed someone in the room and stopped chatting because of it.
It was infuriating. If not for Yu Heyi, Du Sheng wouldn’t even need to be here.
“Uncle, I changed my mind. Is there a hillside nearby with a good view or something?”
“…” He knew it. Yu Heyi never came to him with good news.
“How would I know?”
“I’m just asking for your advice.”
“I don’t know. Go back.” Du Sheng, impatient, pushed her out, ignoring her saying, “Uncle, you’re choosing your lover over your niece!”
“Yep, exactly, so get out.”
Kicked out, Yu Heyi wandered downstairs and locked onto the guesthouse owner.
The owner was a Beta, in her forties, and easy to talk to since she ran a business.
“Sis, I wanted to ask, is there a nice scenic hillside nearby?”
“Oh, let me think.” The owner was enthusiastic, offering Yu Heyi a stool and asking what she needed the hillside for. Yu Heyi didn’t tell the truth, making up, “I just want to see the night view.”
“Oh.”
“There’s one not far from here. Go right out of here, keep walking, and at the fork, head left to go up.”
“Got it, thanks, sis!”
After thanking her and chatting a bit more, Yu Heyi went upstairs.
She thought Chi Ruixi would be asleep, but when she got back, Chi Ruixi was lying on the bed, playing on her phone, her face cold, like someone had upset her.
“Why’re you unhappy? Who got to you?”
Chi Ruixi glanced at her but didn’t speak.
Yu Heyi got the hint—it was probably her. But… she hadn’t done anything?
They stared at each other for a bit until Chi Ruixi spoke first.
“Where’d you go? Why didn’t you reply to my WeChat?”
She finished, and Yu Heyi quickly checked her phone. There was an unread message from Chi Ruixi, asking where she was, sent half an hour ago…
Right when she’d left Du Sheng’s room.
Not knowing how to explain, Yu Heyi tried to change the subject.
“You hungry? Let’s go eat something…”
“What’s good to eat in the mountains?”
Chi Ruixi didn’t budge, just lay on the bed. No matter what Yu Heyi said, she wouldn’t go. Finally, Yu Heyi pulled her up, ignoring her struggles, and dragged her downstairs.
Then stuffed her into the car.
Eating wasn’t Yu Heyi’s real goal.
It was past 8 p.m., and it was already quite dark. Yu Heyi drove Chi Ruixi toward the hillside.
Yu Heyi wasn’t fazed, but Chi Ruixi was a bit scared, gripping the seatbelt tightly and asking, “Where are you taking me?”
“You’ll see when we get there.”
Following the owner’s directions, she turned left at the fork. The darker it got, the more scared Chi Ruixi became, even grabbing Yu Heyi’s hand tightly. Yu Heyi held her hand back.
After a few minutes of driving, they reached the hillside.
It wasn’t the mountain’s peak, but the view was wide open. With clear weather, the sky was full of stars, so bright Chi Ruixi was instantly captivated without even looking up.
Neither got out of the car. After a while, Yu Heyi said, “Ruixi, there’s something in the trunk. Can you grab it?” She unlocked the trunk.
Chi Ruixi was puzzled. Why did she have to get it?
But she obeyed.
When she got out and opened the trunk, she saw a sea of red.
Red roses, filling the entire trunk.
Yu Heyi came up behind her, hugging her from behind, holding something shiny in her hand.
She whispered in her ear, “I feel like I owe you a confession… or rather, a formal proposal.”
