After Going on a Blind Date With My Omega Love Rival (ABO, GL) - Chapter 87
Chapter 87
Yu Heyi actually had no idea what Old Madam Chi planned to do.
Last night, she said she felt unwell, and then came Chi Ruixi’s plea for help. Yu Heyi had no clue what Old Madam Chi intended to do; she only knew she needed to take Chi Ruixi away.
So now, Old Madam Chi’s words shocked her for a moment. Then, her veins bulged, and her pheromones surged.
“What did you just say?”
“Washing, marking?”
Yu Heyi released her pheromones strongly and fiercely. Except for Chi Ruixi in her arms and the beta servant, everyone felt a bit uncomfortable.
The two alpha individuals closest to her felt it most obviously, followed by Old Madam Chi.
Chi Shengxi, being farther away and having a high pheromone concentration herself, didn’t react much.
She only slightly furrowed her brow.
When she heard about washing the mark, she also felt furious. But Yu Heyi’s sudden arrival interrupted her conversation with Old Madam Chi.
And now, Old Madam Chi spoke recklessly, asking her to help?
She almost laughed in anger. Her mother had truly aged.
“Take Ruixi away. I’ll handle things here,” Chi Shengxi said.
After Chi Shengxi spoke, Yu Heyi restrained her pheromones a bit, thanked her politely, and just when Chi Shengxi thought she would leave with Chi Ruixi, Yu Heyi suddenly changed her tone.
“However… as Ruixi’s alpha, I think it’s better if I handle this matter.” After saying this, Yu Heyi looked down at Chi Ruixi nestled in her arms.
Chi Ruixi also looked up at her, her eyes sparkling. The grievances from earlier vanished because of Yu Heyi’s embrace.
She knew Yu Heyi would come to save her and take her away.
“Heyi,” Chi Ruixi called her name in a soft, lingering voice, making Yu Heyi want to kiss her lips right then.
But… the situation felt a bit off.
Yu Heyi patted her waist soothingly, then held her tightly, not noticing Chi Ruixi’s slightly flushed cheeks. She turned back to face Old Madam Chi.
The two flirted openly, making Old Madam Chi’s heart race with anger, her face turning red.
Pointing her cane at Yu Heyi, she said shakily, “Chi Ruixi is my daughter. I don’t agree to your marriage!”
Aside from Chi Ruixi being her daughter, she had no other leverage, so she repeated this phrase over and over.
Yu Heyi grew very impatient and finally said, “Have you said enough? You keep repeating the same thing. Chi Ruixi is an adult now. She has the right to make her own choices.”
“What do you think you are? An old landlord? Is Chi Ruixi your servant?”
Feudal, vulgar.
It felt like living in a time without ABO genders, in eras bound by feudal doctrines.
After she said this, Chi Shengxi, standing nearby, couldn’t hold back a laugh. Yu Heyi’s description was quite accurate.
Old Madam Chi glared at Yu Heyi, then at Chi Shengxi, who couldn’t suppress her laugh, and repeated, “Chi Ruixi is my daughter!!!”
“Enough, Old Madam. You’re at this age. Can’t you just enjoy your peace?” Yu Heyi said.
Unable to stand Old Madam Chi’s words, Yu Heyi started to retort.
“I’ll say it again. Chi Ruixi is an adult. She has the right to choose, and she chose me.” Yu Heyi pointed at herself, paused, and said, “To be her alpha.”
“Old Madam, you should tend to your flowers and enjoy your later years. That way, you might live a few more years.”
Yu Heyi’s words spared no feelings. She didn’t care that the person in front of her was her mother-in-law and said whatever came to mind.
Old Madam Chi, proud her whole life, couldn’t bear being lectured by a younger person at her age. Her face showed her embarrassment.
Yet every word she said, Yu Heyi countered back.
Unable to say anything else, she blurted out, “No matter what, I will never agree!”
Yu Heyi didn’t quite understand why Old Madam Chi opposed her and Chi Ruixi. Her words held no meaning.
“Why don’t you agree?” she asked.
She couldn’t fathom what reason could make Old Madam Chi disregard how harmful washing a mark was to an Omega.
“Because you’re not worthy of my daughter,” Old Madam Chi said.
Old Madam Chi’s eyes were cloudy, but that didn’t stop her from glaring at Yu Heyi.
“Where am I not worthy?” Yu Heyi asked.
She couldn’t understand. She and Chi Ruixi loved each other. What made her unworthy?
Old Madam Chi sneered and said, “You, a chef, dare to dream of my daughter?”
Hearing this, Yu Heyi was stunned for a moment, but Chi Ruixi in her arms couldn’t take it anymore.
“As long as I love her, she’s worthy. What does her job have to do with it!” Chi Ruixi said.
Her words hit right at Yu Heyi’s heart, as if Chi Ruixi knew exactly what she was thinking and voiced it.
Unable to hold back, Yu Heyi cupped Chi Ruixi’s face and kissed her lips fiercely.
After the kiss, Chi Ruixi blushed a bit. Seeing her like this, Yu Heyi’s heart itched, and she kissed her again, saying, “I love you too, Ruixi baby.”
If the situation weren’t wrong, Chi Shengxi would have wanted to leave. She couldn’t stand how mushy they were.
She didn’t know if, during the time Chi Ying stayed at Chi Ruixi’s house, these two were this unrestrained.
Chi Shengxi didn’t talk much usually, but every word she said made people uncomfortable.
Like now, she wanted to escape, so she suggested something that shocked everyone.
“How about… we eat lunch first, then talk?” she said.
As soon as she spoke, Old Madam Chi looked at her in disbelief. Chi Ruixi didn’t expect her sister to say this, while Yu Heyi looked at Chi Shengxi with a smile.
The Chi sisters were so interesting, definitely not taking after this old madam.
She hadn’t expected the cold, serious Chi Shengxi, the prominent alpha of Xijing, to say something so amusing.
Chi Shengxi didn’t know what they were thinking. She was genuinely hungry.
She barely ate last night due to socializing and left in a rush this morning.
Her stomach was long empty.
Old Madam Chi was old and not in great health. She knew this matter wouldn’t be settled in a few words, and since Chi Shengxi spoke up, she favored her more and ordered the kitchen to make her favorite dishes.
They moved to the living room sofas.
Old Madam Chi sat with her eyes closed, resting. Chi Shengxi looked at her phone, silent.
Meanwhile, Yu Heyi and Chi Ruixi interacted a lot.
After not seeing each other for a night, Yu Heyi missed Chi Ruixi terribly. She hugged and kissed her, not caring about the other two.
One had her eyes closed, the other stayed silent.
But Chi Ruixi was thin-skinned, especially in front of her mother and sister. She felt very uneasy.
So she said softly, “Behave, okay? Wait until we’re home.”
“I miss you…” Yu Heyi said.
“Be good,” Chi Ruixi replied.
Though Chi Shengxi didn’t speak, she could hear, and so could Old Madam Chi.
Seeing them being mushy, Chi Shengxi wasn’t used to it, but seeing her sister so happy made her happy too.
As for Old Madam Chi… she wanted to curse.
“You two, enough! I haven’t agreed to your matter yet,” she said.
If she were twenty years younger, she’d have fought Yu Heyi to the death.
Did they think she was invisible?
At dinner, Yu Heyi noticed none of the dishes on the table were Chi Ruixi’s favorites.
Chi Ruixi lacked interest and didn’t want to eat.
Yu Heyi stood up, asked the cooking aunt where the eggs were, and said she’d make egg fried rice for Chi Ruixi.
She made it once before, and Chi Ruixi found it average. Then she improved it by adding some ketchup, and Chi Ruixi liked it.
She made the fried rice quickly and brought it over soon.
Seeing her attentiveness, Old Madam Chi scoffed.
“Indeed, just a little chef. How much money would it take for you to leave my daughter?” she asked.
Yu Heyi paused with her chopsticks, afraid she misheard, and asked Old Madam Chi, “I didn’t hear clearly. Say it again?”
“How much money would it take for you to leave my daughter!” Old Madam Chi repeated.
Yu Heyi lowered her head, chuckled, picked up a piece of braised pork rib, commented on it, and then said, “You think I’m a Mary Sue heroine? How much money?”
As soon as she spoke, Old Madam Chi’s face darkened.
“I’m sitting here eating with you to discuss things properly. After all, you’re Ruixi’s mother, and I respect you, but you… don’t need it at all,” Yu Heyi said.
With every word, Old Madam Chi’s face grew darker, until she could barely eat.
“You little…” Old Madam Chi started, but was interrupted.
The Chi family’s butler came running from the door.
He glanced at Old Madam Chi, then at Chi Shengxi. After the latter signaled with her eyes, he said, “Old Master Jiang and President Jiang have arrived.”
Old Madam Chi was stunned and asked the butler, “Just the two of them?”
“There’s also Miss Jiang,” the butler replied.
Old Madam Chi glanced at the time. It was only 1:30 PM. Why did they come so early?
Before she could react, Chi Shengxi spoke.
“Let them in,” she said.
Old Madam Chi looked at her in shock, then at Yu Heyi and Chi Ruixi sitting together.
“Get out!” Old Madam Chi said.
She stood up and started shooing people, wanting Yu Heyi to leave quickly.
“Oh,” Yu Heyi agreed readily, pulling Chi Ruixi to leave.
“Put Ruixi’s hand down,” Old Madam Chi said.
Yu Heyi turned back, thinking Old Madam Chi was a bit abnormal.
If she weren’t Chi Ruixi’s mother, she’d have asked, “Is something wrong with your brain?”
What was this act?
So bizarre.
As both sides stood in a stalemate, the Jiang family arrived.
Leading was an old man in his seventies. To his left was a middle-aged male alpha, younger than Old Madam Chi, resembling the old man. Behind them followed Jiang Qi, wearing a T-shirt and ripped jeans.
Yu Heyi couldn’t help but think, damn.
Jiang Qi said she came for a blind date, and it was with Chi Ruixi?
Chi Ruixi’s eyes were full of surprise too.
Old Master Jiang sensed the tense atmosphere upon entering but still greeted Old Madam Chi. Her reaction was slow; it took her a while to respond after he spoke.
Her gaze fixed on Jiang Qi’s outfit, and she frowned. She had heard the Jiang family’s alpha was excellent. What was this?
Jiang Qi kept her head down but felt a gaze on her. She looked up and saw Yu Heyi.
“Yu Heyi, why are you here, and… Chi Ruixi?” she said.
