After leaving scumbag A, I Found a Happy Ending with a Flirtatious Beauty (GL , ABO) - Chapter 5
The sky was completely dark, but at the heart of the city, the “Wu Jiu” club glowed with dazzling lights, creating a glamorous and surreal world.
Shen Qiaoyi stood hesitantly in front of the majestic building that looked like something out of a mirage.
“Siya, maybe I should just go back,” she said uncertainly.
“No way,” Zheng Siya said firmly, grabbing her arm and pulling her into the lobby.
“You’re already here. Just take a look. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet someone special inside.”
As they walked, Zheng Siya chatted animatedly.
“Yiyi, you’re so beautiful, and you’re a top-level Omega. Don’t waste the amazing genes you were born with. If you see someone you like, just go ask for their WeChat. Those Alphas would never turn you down. They’d be dying to talk to you.”
“We’re here to mingle with the film crew, not go flirting,” Shen Qiaoyi mumbled.
Zheng Siya ignored her complaints and went on,
“There’s an entertainment lounge just past the main hall. The bar is full of Alpha girls. If you like someone, you can pick. Many of them are from the film academy. They can sing, dance, and have great manners.”
Shen Qiaoyi looked surprised.
“Alphas work here?”
“What are you thinking? Wu Jiu isn’t some kind of shady place,” Zheng Siya replied with a mysterious wink.
“Do you know who owns this place?”
Shen Qiaoyi shook her head, still confused.
She hadn’t been in this world for long, so how could she know those kinds of details?
Zheng Siya looked around carefully, then leaned closer and whispered,
“This place belongs to Lu Zhiyuan, the eldest daughter of the Lu family.”
Lu Zhiyuan?
Shen Qiaoyi was suddenly reminded of the ultimate boss character from the novel. That name was exactly the same.
In the story, Shen Qiaoyi had been forcefully marked by Ji Ruolan and locked up in a dark room day after day. If Lu Zhiyuan hadn’t suppressed the Ji Corporation, keeping Ji Ruolan too busy to focus on her, Shen Qiaoyi would never have escaped.
Lu Zhiyuan was the only character she had genuinely liked while reading the book.
Thinking that she might get to meet her favorite character in real life filled her with excitement. It felt like meeting a celebrity you’ve always admired.
Just the thought made her feel incredibly lucky.
But there was one problem.
The author had gotten into a relationship halfway through writing the book and rushed the ending. Lu Zhiyuan had appeared for only two short chapters.
By the time the story ended, Shen Qiaoyi and Lu Zhiyuan had never interacted. Even if they stood face to face, they wouldn’t recognize each other.
Zheng Siya noticed Shen Qiaoyi spacing out and waved a hand in front of her eyes.
“Hey, what are you thinking about? Snap out of it. Let’s go in.”
She pushed open the heavy wooden doors. The sound of clinking glasses and cheerful voices drifted out from inside.
Zheng Siya nudged her forward, and Shen Qiaoyi was swept through the entrance. The film crew was already gathered around the bar playing cards, and a few uninhibited ones were singing loudly into microphones. The atmosphere was lively and energetic.
As soon as Shen Qiaoyi appeared, her coworkers from the studio surrounded her with laughter and cheer, pulling her down onto the sofa with warmth and excitement.
Song Yin came over as well and sat down next to her.
“Yiyi, I’ll take you home after the party,” she said casually.
Shen Qiaoyi didn’t understand where this shameless Alpha got the confidence to think she’d want a ride from her. She let out a cold laugh.
“Miss Song, I don’t think that’s necessary. We’re not exactly close.”
She had no intention of wasting time on Song Yin. With a curt “Excuse me,” she stood up and walked away.
From a distance, He Yu had been watching. When she saw Song Yin try to grab Shen Qiaoyi’s arm, only to be coldly shaken off, her expression froze for a second.
He Yu quietly followed after her, looking like she was about to cry.
“Yiyi, I think you misunderstood. There’s nothing going on between me and Miss Song.”
Shen Qiaoyi had no interest in getting involved in petty jealousy or love triangles. She looked at He Yu with calm indifference.
“Whatever you and Song Yin have going on, I honestly don’t care. If you enjoy digging through trash for Alphas, be my guest. I’m not interested.”
He Yu was stunned into silence. Her lips moved, but she couldn’t form a single word.
Shen Qiaoyi watched her quietly. As she turned to leave, she caught the faint, malicious smirk hidden in He Yu’s eyes.
So, trying to act like an innocent victim again?
Fine. Let’s see what tricks you’ve got left.
Unlike typical clubs or bars, Wu Jiu’s lounges were semi-open. Above them, the ceiling was covered in floating 3D holograms. The lights and music shifted between illusion and reality, drawing people into a mesmerizing, dreamlike state.
Lu Zhiyuan had been sitting there all night, head down, going over the books. She hadn’t spoken a single word, and the heavy silence around her made the atmosphere feel tense. The bartenders were so nervous they kept knocking things over.
Su Jintao couldn’t take it anymore and nudged her with an elbow.
“Lu Yuanbao, can you stop looking so grim? You’re scaring poor Alice half to death.”
She glanced at the flustered bartender and called out,
“Alice, make your boss a ‘Flaming Kiss.’”
“Yes ma’am,” Alice said quickly, grateful for an excuse to retreat behind the bar. She let out a long sigh of relief.
Su Jintao patted Lu Zhiyuan’s shoulder.
“Didn’t you already find proof that your stepmother framed you? Why are you still upset?”
Lu Zhiyuan shot her a sidelong glance, her tone filled with cold irritation.
“She’s not my stepmother.”
“Okay, okay, I take it back. I’m sorry, alright?” Su Jintao smacked her lips playfully, then grinned with a flash of white teeth.
“I meant Qin Mian. She planted people in the front desk and staged a disgusting hotel scandal with a few third-rate actors. Now that you’ve got both witnesses and evidence, what are you planning to do next?”
Lu Zhiyuan let out a faint snort. There was sarcasm in her expression.
“I’ve already cleared out her spies from the Lu Corporation. If she behaves herself from now on, I can let her keep her wealth and status. But if she dares to touch what belonged to my mother, I’ll make her pay.”
Su Jintao looked worried.
“But your Alpha mother will still protect Qin Mian, just like before.”
Lu Zhiyuan’s gaze darkened slightly, and a faint trace of cold fury flickered in her eyes.
“I don’t plan to tell my mom.”
“What?”
Su Jintao was so shocked she almost spilled her wine. She stared at Lu Zhiyuan for a few seconds, then leaned in and lowered her voice.
“Lu Yuanbao, you’re not thinking of doing something dangerous, are you?”
She didn’t finish the sentence, but she made a small slicing gesture near her neck. The concern in her eyes deepened.
“You’ve only just gained a foothold in the Lu family. Don’t be reckless. Qin Mian is a sly old fox. She always plays the victim in front of your mom. Haven’t you been burned enough by her already?”
Lu Zhiyuan pressed her lips together and stayed calm.
“Don’t worry, Susu. I’m not the same Lu Zhiyuan I was two years ago. Unless I know I can end it in one clean strike, I won’t make a move.”
Su Jintao was about to say something more when a loud commotion suddenly broke out in the corner booth. The sharp crash of a bottle shattering echoed through the room. A shrill female voice shouted with arrogance, “So what if it’s a few bottles? I can afford to pay for them. No one is leaving tonight. Everyone drinks with me. Where’s the server? Bring me another dozen ‘Kiss of Death’ cocktails.”
Alice quickly grabbed bottles from the shelf and lifted a tray to head over, but Lu Zhiyuan reached out and stopped her.
“I’ll go.”
Alice paused for a second, then nervously handed the tray to Lu Zhiyuan with trembling hands.
Su Jintao stood leisurely with her arms crossed. Once Lu Zhiyuan had walked away, Alice finally spoke up.
“Miss Su, our boss…”
Su Jintao shrugged, looking like she was enjoying the show. “Causing trouble on Miss Lu’s turf? Someone’s about to have a very bad night.”
Carrying the tray, Lu Zhiyuan moved through the loud, crowded walkway. Just as she was about to reach the booth where the noise had started, her eyes caught a flash of red and she suddenly stopped in her tracks.
It was her.
The Omega who had unexpectedly gone into heat last night at the Ziyue Hotel.
She was wearing a bohemian-style red dress, standing under a crystal lamp in the corner. Her black curly hair was casually pinned up. Under the soft 3D lighting, she looked like a radiant ruby, shining and unforgettable.
Alphas were approaching her one after another, asking for her contact information, but she turned them all down politely with a gentle smile.
Lu Zhiyuan’s calm expression flickered slightly. Her feet began to move without thinking, slowly drawing her toward the Omega.
In just a few steps, another Alpha came up to ask for her WeChat. Shen Qiaoyi turned with a graceful smile and softly said, “Sorry,” before ignoring him completely.
Lu Zhiyuan was just about to walk up to her, but at that moment, a tall figure stepped into view and grabbed Shen Qiaoyi’s wrist.
“Yiyi, so this is where you are,” said Song Yin as she reached her other hand around Shen Qiaoyi’s waist, pulling her closer. “Come on, sing a song with me.”
The sudden and unwanted closeness made Shen Qiaoyi’s skin crawl. She held back her disgust and pushed Song Yin away.
“Miss Song, please respect yourself.”
Song Yin hadn’t expected to be pushed away. She stood frozen for a second, then held onto Shen Qiaoyi’s arm again and lowered her voice.
“I really didn’t mean to skip out on you last week. The crew suddenly called me in for a last-minute shoot. Yiyi, please don’t be mad.”
Shen Qiaoyi was beautiful, capable of earning money, and her scent was exceptionally rare. Song Yin, who always operated with the typical careless Alpha mindset of not initiating, not committing, and not rejecting, felt that having a top-tier Omega like Qiaoyi fawn over her boosted her ego.
When Shen Qiaoyi finally came to her senses and walked away, Song Yin realized how difficult it would be to find another Omega like her.
So she decided to humble herself and try to win her back.
Giving a slap and then offering a sweet date was the tactic Song Yin had always used on the original Shen Qiaoyi. It had always worked before.
Shen Qiaoyi turned her head slightly. The look in her eyes was full of contempt.
That excuse about shooting a scene was clearly a lie. She had obviously been messing around with He Yu.
Not only was Song Yin disloyal, but she didn’t even have the courage to admit what she had done. It was truly pathetic.
Thinking about how the original Shen Qiaoyi used to act like a lovesick fool made her question the girl’s taste.
Song Yin thickened her skin and moved closer again.
“Yiyi, I know you like me. It’s just that I’m in the middle of building my career. I can’t make our relationship public right now, but you’ve always been the only one for me.”
“Sorry,” Shen Qiaoyi said without a hint of softness. “Miss Song, I already have an Alpha.”
A crack appeared on Song Yin’s expression, but she quickly replaced it with a confident smile.
“Yiyi, you don’t have to make up lies just to get back at me. Come on, I already apologized. Let’s just make up.”
“Stop being so full of yourself, I…”
Shen Qiaoyi was so frustrated by her twisted way of thinking that she couldn’t even finish her sentence. She rolled her eyes hard. As she turned her head, her gaze landed across the booth, and she froze.
Her heart started racing.
Between the booths, there was a section of glass with an open pattern. Through it, she could clearly see Lu Zhiyuan’s face.
