Upon seeing President Qin with the Alpha, Lu Ningshuang thought,

They were an ideal match for each other.

Lu Ningshuang’s gaze stayed on the man for a time before moving on.

The man was talking to Qin Yushu when he walked in. Qin Yushu tilted her head a little to listen, not knowing that Lu Ningshuang was there.

Qin Yushu appeared to sense something and looked about with her eyes raised.

“What’s wrong?”

Huo Yunyi’s sharp eyes, which noticed Qin Yushu’s movements, softened a little as he got closer. His dark, brooding gaze showed a softness that didn’t match his good looks.

Huo Yunyi was really good-looking, but his behavior seemed a little off.

Qin Yushu moved her body in a way that was subtle, avoiding the too-close position and the pressure that came from their height difference.

“Let’s sit over there.” She didn’t answer his query because her tone was chilly.

 Huo Yunyi laughed and said, “I’m fine with anything.”

 Lu Ningshuang was lost in thought.

She had read the original story.

She knew right away that the man in the suit next to Qin Yushu was Huo Yunyi, the original male protagonist who was supposed to send her to jail.

The Qin and Huo families were both well-known, and seeing them together again felt like the story’s logic was fixing itself.

Even when things went wrong, the plot will always find a way to get back on track.

The main characters and side characters typically had different destinies.

The staff was all there because it was a five-star hotel restaurant and not a busy time for eating. This gave Lu Ningshuang some time to relax.

She couldn’t help but look at Qin Yushu.

Huo Yunyi was not there now!

Qin Yushu looked like a bold and majestic white swan under the bright lights.

She was still wearing the fitted suit from when they first met. It was well-made and nothing like the cheap ones you can find online. The clothing showed off how well she carried herself.

No matter what angle you looked at her from, her back was straight, and her head and spine made a flawless arc.

Her hands were crossed on the table in a relaxed way, and her long legs, which were buried under it, were elegantly placed, showing just the faint shine of her silver high heels. It made people think; the air itself seemed to sparkle with energy.

She also happened to stare at Lu Ningshuang.

She saw her!

Even in such dazzling light, the depths of Qin Yushu’s eyes were still an unfathomable abyss.

Then she reached out and waved at Lu Ningshuang.

 It was nevertheless a fun way to tease a puppy.

 Lu Ningshuang: “…” 

This was the second time today!

Both times, she had to do what her current role required, even though she didn’t want to.

Lu Ningshuang could only bounce over to Qin Yushu and drop her head in respect, saying.

“Hello, how can I help you?”

“I knew I was right.” Qin Yushu’s voice had a sense of happiness in it for some reason.

When Lu Ningshuang looked up again, Qin Yushu still seemed like an unapproachable beauty.

She looked like a regular guest and said, “Please recommend one of your signature dishes.”

“Of course.”  Lu Ningshuang said, “The dish that our customers order the most is…”

 Lu Ningshuang was lucky that she had talked to her coworkers first.

She was very careful with her work; even though she was only a temporary worker, she asked a few more questions.

This is probably why Lu Fugui always called her in to help when things went awry.

 She is trustworthy!

 It really was a lot of work.

 In the end, Lu Ningshuang asked, “Which one would you like to try?”

 Qin Yushu’s eyes stayed on Lu Ningshuang while she spoke.

She wore a fitted vest that accentuated her smaller waist, and she had styled her long hair up. Lu Ningshuang was able to carry off her haircut, even if it didn’t go with her face.

 It drew attention to her beautiful neck, shoulders, and cheekbones, as well as her long hands and legs.

 Lu Ningshuang’s appearance was clean and clear.

 Even tough guys would whistle at the sight of the lovely and delicate Alpha Lu Ningshuang.

 She really deserves to be the one she chose carefully. Qin Yushu thought.

 “Okay, I’ll bring it to you right away; please wait a moment,” Lu Ningshuang said, not knowing what Qin Yushu was thinking.

However, she did notice that Qin Yushu hadn’t ordered any alcohol, nor had she placed an order for the male lead, A.

The more high-class the hotel, the more they emphasize service. If a guest behaves in such a manner, she wouldn’t say anything to remind them.

She had already sent the order to the kitchen through her earpiece, and just as Lu Ningshuang was about to leave, she heard Qin Yushu speak again.

 “Busy, huh?” she said without thinking. “Do you have a second job tonight?”

 “No.”

 “I’m just covering for someone,” Lu Ningshuang said. “She has something to do.”

Lu Ningshuang’s information had long been on Qin Yushu’s desk, so she naturally knew about this minor detail but chose not to mention it, her gaze growing more intense.

“It seems Miss Lu and that friend have a close relationship.”

Not grasping the nuance, Lu Ningshuang nodded earnestly, recalling the principle of reciprocity. Perhaps out of curiosity, she asked, “Ms. Qin, you’re working so late?”

Qin Yushu, the heir to the Tiansheng Group, wasn’t as direct as Lu Ningshuang. She leaned back a little, making the space in front of her look inviting.

 It could also look like a gap.

Qin Yushu had been staring at Lu Ningshuang closely since she started talking.

Her eyes were quite pretty, with corners that turned up slightly, like the eyes of a peach blossom. But her harsh demeanor made those beautiful eyes seem less friendly.

Now, her red lips curled slightly, making the corners of her peach blossom eyes crinkle. The red color made the effect much stronger.

Her hand had already pulled back, softly holding one side of her face in her thick, dark hair.

Qin Yushu looked thin, but her face still had some softness to it. Her fingers left faint imprints on her cheek, making her look very adorable.

In this light, the contrast of her omega eyes appeared less distinct, resembling the hazy and surreal atmosphere of Jiangnan during May showers.

 Qin Yushu said, “Guess what?”

 Lu Ningshuang: “…”

 “I have no idea.”

It made perfect sense because the male and female leads were just going out to eat together.  As a supporting character, she had no right to guess what they were up to.

 “Oh.”

Qin Yushu’s voice became icy, breaking the beautiful colors that were mirrored in the illusion. Her eyes were suddenly clear and steady.

“It’s just a dinner that both families want.”

Lu Ningshuang stopped for a moment.

She didn’t understand why Qin Yushu felt it was necessary to provide more details in this situation. No, maybe she did comprehend.

Wasn’t the happiness bursting up inside her right now the finest proof?

At first, Lu Ningshuang was happy to see Qin Yushu’s clear eyes, but her expression quickly changed to one that was hard to put into words.

 Lu Ningshuang: Okay!

Lu Ningshuang looked around to make sure no one was close by, then leaned in closer.

Qin Yushu didn’t move, but her ear inclined slightly, which showed that she was interested.

Her red lips appeared to get closer, almost brushing against the Alpha’s face in front of her.

This attitude was very different from how she had acted in front of Huo Yunyi just a few minutes before.

Lu Ningshuang didn’t notice the changes of this at all.

She tried to stay calm, but she felt like a burglar when she lowered her voice. “So Ms. Qin plans to keep her home life stable while having affairs on the side?”
