After Marking the Villain Professor (ABO, GL) - Chapter 13
Chapter 13
The supermarket suddenly plunged into darkness. Except for the initial shot aimed at Zhou Yutao’s leg, none of the dozen or so desperados dared to fire again.
First, they feared hitting their own people. Second, the roars of the zombies outside grew louder, and there was no time. Third, the alphas present were overwhelmed by the浓郁 peach scent, causing their pheromones to spiral out of control.
This wave of zombies was more ferocious than the previous ones, crashing straight through the main entrance.
“Damn it, that wretched woman still managed to trick us,” Scar Brother fumed, injecting himself with a suppressant while ordering his men, “Find the circuit breaker and turn on the lights, then guard the main gate. If necessary, use people to hold off those zombies.”
Those people, naturally, referred to Chen Xing, Chen Wang, and the students in the warehouse who refused to leave.
Scar Brother’s actions left them deeply regretful, but they could only accept their fate.
Meanwhile, Xu Yi and the others, three to a vehicle, rammed through the encroaching zombies and quickly drove out of Di Du University. To avoid the hordes of zombies, they took the mountain road.
After driving some distance without seeing any more zombies, everyone finally breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Xu Man and Zhou Yutao were in a vehicle driven by Xu Si.
Their car, a high-performance five-seater off-road vehicle, carried no supplies and led the other vehicles.
To wait for the trailing cars to catch up, Xu Si slowed down.
“Those ungrateful bastards, pah! If we’d known, we should’ve destroyed all the food in the supermarket first, so they wouldn’t get it cheap now,” Xu Si cursed, finally venting after escaping danger. “Next time I see them, I’ll cut them down…”
After his rant, he glanced at the back seat.
Xu Man was tightly hugging Zhou Yutao, her head buried in the crook of her neck, clearly up to no good.
Xu Si’s cursing stopped abruptly, and he held his breath.
Good heavens, they were still in the car, with zombies possibly appearing at any moment, yet the boss still had the mood to bully Madam Boss like that.
If not for Madam Boss’s medicine earlier, those desperados might have succeeded.
How could the boss still have the nerve to bully Madam Boss?
Most importantly, Madam Boss was completely indulgent, not making a sound even as her neck gained a few more bite marks.
Focused on driving earlier, Xu Si hadn’t noticed the situation in the back.
In fact, even before getting into the car, Xu Man’s pheromones had gone haywire. As an alpha, and being closest to Zhou Yutao, she was the most affected by the peach scent.
So much so that when Zhou Yutao led her out of the supermarket, she clung to her. Even the grotesque zombies didn’t seem as repulsive as they had at first.
The voice in her head urging her to bite Zhou Yutao grew louder, so loud that Xu Man couldn’t control her actions.
Once in the car, she buried her head in Zhou Yutao’s neck, first nibbling lightly, then losing control, kissing and biting repeatedly from neck to lips, lips to neck.
Soon, Zhou Yutao’s lips took on a moist, vivid scarlet, delicate and tempting, truly like a peach waiting to be picked.
Her neck bore more and more bite marks.
However, Zhou Yutao only tugged Xu Man’s hair when the bites hurt, otherwise patiently soothing the alpha’s out-of-control glands.
Her fingertips gently pressed the spot where pheromones seeped, rubbing softly.
It seemed like soothing, but in reality, it was more like adding fuel to Xu Man’s already burning fire.
Xu Man, naturally, lost all ability to think, instinctively using the techniques Zhou Yutao had taught her in the break room. Growing bolder, she began undoing Zhou Yutao’s shirt buttons.
Unfortunately, without Zhou Yutao’s initiative, Xu Man struggled for a long time to undo just the top button.
In her urgency, sweat beaded on Xu Man’s face.
As she reached for the second button, Zhou Yutao grabbed her hand.
With a sharp glance at Xu Si, she says to Xu Man, “Don’t move.”
Some Omegas, when cold, could instill a natural fear in alphas.
When that slightly cold voice reached her ears, Xu Man sobered up a bit.
But realizing what she’d done, she felt utterly mortified.
How… how did this happen?
Who could tell her what happened? When did she become so bold as to do such humiliating things to the villain in the car?
“Yutao, I…”
She didn’t cry when she first saw the zombies or when she shielded Zhou Yutao from bullets, but now, Xu Man really wanted to cry.
She felt she was doomed this time.
Xu Man quietly withdrew her hand from Zhou Yutao’s grasp, inching toward the window. “If I said I was controlled by that peach scent just now, would you believe me, Professor Zhou?”
In her guilt and fear, she instinctively reverted to her old, respectful form of address.
Zhou Yutao’s eyelid twitched, her voice growing colder. “What did you call me?”
“Yutao.”
Xu Man jolted, instantly freezing. “I called you Yutao. I mean, I didn’t mean to just now…”
As she hurriedly explained, too guilty to look at Zhou Yutao, her gaze fell on a bloody human head with unseeing eyes, falling from a nearby tree.
It was just two seconds, but it scared Xu Man speechless.
She suddenly realized there was something more disgusting and terrifying than zombies: the severed limbs left after being gnawed by them.
Having grown up in peaceful times, she had never seen such things. Not fainting on the spot was already commendable.
Zhou Yutao, who seemed nonchalant but was always watching Xu Man, frowned. “Xu Si, stop the car.”
The car stopped quickly. Xu Man’s stomach churned, and unable to hold back the urge to vomit, she opened the door and retched.
“What a small courage, Boss Xu. How did you survive before?” Zhou Yutao handed her a bottle of water, her voice tinged with subtle teasing.
A timid, pretty, and innocent alpha was easily targeted by bad people.
Xu Man, mostly done vomiting, took Zhou Yutao’s water and drank half the bottle, finally calming down.
Was her courage that small?
Glancing at the unfazed Zhou Yutao and Xu Si, she thought her courage was indeed small compared to them.
But these two weren’t ordinary people.
If ordinary people from her time saw such a scene, their reactions would likely be even more exaggerated. To avoid causing trouble, she was already trying her best to control her fear.
Xu Man had just mentally prepared herself to tell Zhou Yutao she’d work on being braver when she turned and saw Zhou Yutao, now wearing gloves, pick up the unseeing head with a bag.
It looked like she planned to take it back for research.
This was indeed something Zhou Yutao would do. As a villain, she had no interest in saving the world, but she was extremely curious about unknown viruses.
Collecting zombie-infected severed limbs was routine for Zhou Yutao, and the antidote had indeed been developed by her.
It didn’t seem like much when reading about it, as the author glossed over it. But seeing Zhou Yutao do this in person was something else.
This wasn’t something ordinary people could do.
Zombie-infected limbs weren’t just grotesque; they stank, terribly so, noticeable from far away.
That Zhou Yutao could calmly bag that head proved she was worthy of being a villain.
Xu Man, leaning against a tree, vomited again.
But having already emptied her stomach, she only retched some acid, then drank the rest of the water.
Xu Si couldn’t bear it. “Madam Boss, don’t scare the boss. She’s already much better now. Back then, even a dead rat’s body would give her nightmares for days.”
“Take this back.”
Zhou Yutao raised an eyebrow, handing the bagged head to Xu Si.
Nightmares? No matter, she’d keep her company.
Xu Si’s face twisted from the head’s stench. “Madam Boss, why are we bringing this thing?”
It was such a mood-killer.
He’d naively thought Madam Boss was just teasing the boss, trying to scare her. Who knew she really meant to take it back?
Though he asked, Xu Si followed Zhou Yutao’s orders and took the head to the car.
Xu Man didn’t have time to stop him.
The thought of being in the car with that stinking head for at least half an hour made Xu Man feel suffocated.
“Yutao, can we bring this thing next time?” Watching Zhou Yutao approach, Xu Man spoke cautiously, in a negotiating tone.
These things would be everywhere later; there was no need to bring it now.
Zhou Yutao removed her gloves, pinching Xu Man’s face with the hand that had just touched the head, perhaps intentionally.
“Boss Xu, with such a small courage, that won’t do.”
Zhou Yutao’s slightly upturned lips looked somewhat eerie. “In this man-eating world, Boss Xu will get eaten by perverts.”
“Boss Xu is supposed to be responsible for me; you can’t die at someone else’s hands first.”
Recalling the head’s terrifying expression, Xu Man trembled inexplicably.
She knew being so timid in the apocalypse wouldn’t do, but who could handle such shocking scenes right away? She needed time to adjust.
As if reading her thoughts, Zhou Yutao chuckled lightly. “Boss Xu, zombies won’t give you time or reason with you.”
With that, she got into the car first.
The cars behind caught up, honking as if wondering why they’d stopped.
Xu Man quickly got in, and Xu Si drove forward again.
In the end, the head was taken along. Whether she got used to it or because Zhou Yutao was beside her, Xu Man gradually felt less terrified.
Smelling the peach scent on Zhou Yutao, Xu Man strangely felt at ease.
She thought she must have been truly scared out of her wits to find comfort in the villain.
