- After My Girlfriend Dumped Me, I Got Reincarnated As A High School Student. That Part’s Fine—But Why Are All My Ex-Girlfriends Here Too?
- Chapter 25 – The Interrogation Took Place at My Home
“So, Yuta, what exactly were you doing with that girl in that position back there…?”
In every romantic comedy, there’s that classic setup: “This would be bad if someone saw us!”—which, of course, means someone will see us. It’s the same as when someone says “Don’t push me!” and gets pushed anyway—it’s practically law.
And well… being teased would’ve been fine. If that were all.
Now here we are, sitting in my living room like a police interrogation.
Around the low table sit six of us—me, Mie, Rio, Shima, Hinami, and Maria.
“My dear brother… I know boys have certain feelings, and I understand that, but… doing that in a classroom? Isn’t that a little too early for us?”
Hinami says this, blushing, fidgeting with her hands.
“I wouldn’t mind if it were with Yuta, even in the classroom—”
“No one asked for your opinion.”
“Pien…”
As for how that whole mess ended—apparently, the handsome senior who was storming through classrooms in rage got spotted by several students. Naturally, word reached the teachers. Then, seizing the moment, the girls he’d deceived started confessing everything about his behavior—how he’d been dating multiple girls at once, dumping them when he got bored, even getting violent.
In the end, the guy was dragged to the guidance office. I got that update from my so-called best friend (self-proclaimed) Shota.
And Shima? Turns out she’d secretly attached a GPS tracker to my bag “just in case.” When I didn’t come home on time, she panicked and came looking for me.
Dear guidance counselor—there’s another dangerous person right here!
“Wait, wait, there’s actually a reason behind what happened,” I start to explain. Though, it’s not something I can just casually say in front of everyone.
“A reason…?” Rio narrows her eyes suspiciously.
“Well, that’s, uh…”
But asking her to explain would be too cruel. She was terrified—so much that she had to rely on me, someone she supposedly hated.
“I mean, it was an accident, okay? I messed up, and things just… happened.”
“Is it something hard to talk about?” Hinami’s serious gaze pierces me. Ugh. As sharp as ever, that one.
“Yuu-nii, we’re not trying to blame you,” Maria says softly.
“I know that, but still…”
“Wait, I was planning to blame him,” Shima chimes in innocently.
This woman…
“Let’s just say she’s an exception,” Maria sighs.
“Ah, I’ve been labeled an exception now.”
“Anyway,” Hinami continues, “we trust you, big brother. We’re just worried, that’s all.”
“Yeah, same here! I trust you, Yuta! And Mie too!”
Mie, who had been staring down with a tense expression, looks up in surprise at Hinami’s words.
“Th-thank you, Hinami.”
“Mm-hm.”
Hinami smiles, and Mie manages a small, relieved smile in return.
Then, with a deep breath, Mie finally speaks.
“Um… Y-Yuu saved me.”
Her voice trembles, but she forces the words out.
“Hey… are you sure about that?” I whisper.
“I don’t want to owe you anything…” she mutters.
Yeah, I figured as much.
Still, she slowly explains everything that happened—how that senior cornered her, how terrified she was.
By the time she finishes, both Hinami and Maria are fuming.
“What the hell…!? That’s unforgivable!”
“He’s a disgrace to men everywhere!”
“Don’t worry,” Rio says with a cold smile. “He’ll face divine punishment soon enough… heh heh.”
Uh… Rio? You look kinda scary right now.
“I’m sorry,” Hinami murmurs as she gently rubs Mie’s back. “You didn’t want to relive that, right?”
“Yeah… Hinami…”
Overcome with emotion, Mie buries her face into Hinami’s chest and starts crying. Hinami holds her softly, whispering comfort.
“Sorry, Hinami. Take care of her for me.”
“Of course.”
Right now, I don’t have the right to comfort her. That should be Hinami’s role—someone who didn’t hurt her, who’s kind, and who understands her pain better than I ever could.
All I can do is get something to help—some juice or sweets to calm her down later.
“Where are you going?” Rio asks.
“Just the convenience store.”
“Then I’ll come with you—”
“No, you stay here.”
“Pien…”
Also, please—don’t snoop through my stuff while I’m gone. No hidden cameras, no bugs, nothing. That’s not a challenge, got it?
“In that case, I’ll go with you,” Rio says, standing up.
“Alright.”
“Wait—why does she get to go!?”
Shima’s voice echoes behind me, but I pretend not to hear it. Still… I’m not entirely sure she’s okay mentally.
Ah, she just smiled. Yeah, definitely not okay.
“Maria, keep an eye on Shima for me.”
“Roger that!”
Before I can blink, Maria expertly ties Shima up with a rope.
“Hyah!?”
She’s beautiful, so the scene might appeal to a certain crowd, but… no. I do not have that kind of hobby!
“Aww, and I finally got into Yuta’s house too!” Shima whines as I walk away.
With that disturbing comment fading behind us, Rio and I quietly leave the room.
Seriously… why did I ever let her in the house? Next time, meetings are going to be in a family restaurant. I mean it.
