After Rebirth, the Cold and Aloof Film Queen Always Wants to Cuddle with Me - Chapter 25
Chapter 25
In an instant, Ye Ruihuan’s hand froze mid-swing with the wine glass, the atmosphere around them fell utterly silent, as if time itself had paused at her words. The smile tugging at the corner of her lips fell, and a glimmer of something probing flashed through her eyes.
“If that’s the case, shouldn’t you be happy? Clinging to a sugar mommy, hugging a golden thigh—and your target just happens to be your favorite idol,” Ye Ruihuan leaned toward her, her voice usually crisp now tinged with a husky undertone, her tone laced with teasing amusement.
Lin Ruijiao stared at her in a daze upon hearing this, her soft pink lips slightly parted, full and moist—looking almost as if inviting someone to taste them.
Ye Ruihuan’s gaze swept across her face, and her throat unconsciously tightened. Then she leaned in, planting a restrained kiss at the corner of Lin Ruijiao’s lips.
“See? Do I seem like someone who’s into women?” she whispered, her voice carrying a raspy seductiveness. Her eyes, bright and gleaming, brimmed with charm. Every expression on her face screamed satisfaction.
Clutching her lips in shock, Lin Ruijiao stared at her wide-eyed, vigorously shaking her head like a rattle drum, terrified that if she said one more word, Ye Ruihuan really would do something else.
If she couldn’t provoke her, she could at least avoid her.
“Let’s go,” Ye Ruihuan downed the rest of her wine in one gulp.
A trace of red wine stained her luscious red lips. She casually wiped it away with her thumb and brought it to her tongue. A flush crept onto her flawless face, and with her slightly glazed eyes, she looked like a seductress straight out of a dream.
The usual chill in her aura had been swept away by the wine, leaving her looking every bit the enchanting temptress.
Lin Ruijiao couldn’t help but swallow nervously and stood up to follow.
“Oh right, my hair’s still wet. Can you help me blow-dry it?” Ye Ruihuan’s eyes were unfocused, her dazzling smile lit up her entire face, and she looked completely drunk.
“Sure.” Lin Ruijiao nodded obediently.
Ye Ruihuan immediately climbed into bed, sitting cross-legged with her back to Lin Ruijiao.
Lin Ruijiao picked up the hairdryer, sat beside her on the bed, and gently ran her fingers through Ye Ruihuan’s hair, separating it into small sections to dry. The long strands were smooth and jet black, slipping like silk between her pale fingers. Her hands moved rhythmically through the ends of Ye Ruihuan’s hair, delicate and tender.
“All done.” Lin Ruijiao finally put away the dryer.
“Thanks, little bunny. Come sleep,” Ye Ruihuan murmured drowsily, lying down and patting the empty spot beside her.
“…Okay.” Lin Ruijiao tugged at the belt of her robe. Underneath, she wore a thin nightdress. In the blink of an eye, she bounced into bed like a startled bunny, wrapping the blanket tightly around herself, leaving not a single bit of skin exposed for Ye Ruihuan to glimpse.
Ye Ruihuan, looking convincingly drunk, had her eyes shut and rolled over once before turning to face her, draping one arm over Lin Ruijiao’s waist.
The sudden weight made Lin Ruijiao jolt. Lying with her back to Ye Ruihuan, she couldn’t see the other woman’s face. Judging by her slow and steady breathing, though, she had probably fallen asleep.
In the quiet room, with the faint scent of wine drifting through the air, the anxious Lin Ruijiao gradually slipped into slumber.
But Ye Ruihuan, who should have been asleep, opened her eyes.
A smile crept onto her lips—this little bunny really was easy to fool. Couldn’t even tell she was acting? That tiny bit of alcohol wasn’t nearly enough to get her drunk.
She reached out and gently poked Lin Ruijiao’s soft waist. No response. Definitely asleep.
Then she tugged slightly on the edge of her clothes. Lin Ruijiao stirred uncomfortably and flipped over, now facing her directly.
Ye Ruihuan’s smile deepened. This little bunny really had no defenses when asleep. If only she were this obedient while awake.
She raised her hand to brush the stray strands of hair from Lin Ruijiao’s face. In the dim, gray light, she could just barely make out her peaceful, delicate features in sleep—so pure and innocent, like a pristine white rabbit. Absolutely adorable.
She couldn’t resist reaching out to caress her cheek—it was so soft. Her fingers brushed her petite nose, then finally landed on her lips. Soft, tender, full, and sweet. Everything about them seemed to tempt her into doing something bad.
Her thumb traced Lin Ruijiao’s lips gently, a murky gleam flickering in her eyes, until a hint of nostalgia shimmered within them.
Memories, like an overturned jar, came flooding back—dreams from the past few nights playing over and over in her mind. She swallowed hard, her eyes now filled with longing.
As her gaze lingered, she leaned in and placed a light kiss on Lin Ruijiao’s lips. Then she wrapped her arms tightly around her slender waist and buried her face into the crook of her neck.
In the silence, the sound of their breathing intertwined. All Ye Ruihuan could hear was the pounding of her own heart. She gently bit her lip, the corners of her eyes tinged red.
Finally, she let out a soft sigh. After an intense inner battle, she restrained herself and held Lin Ruijiao quietly as she drifted to sleep.
When Lin Ruijiao woke up, she found herself tightly wrapped in someone’s arms. She blinked a few times, confirming that she hadn’t had anything to drink the night before—definitely not drunk. So how had she ended up in Ye Ruihuan’s embrace?
She subtly checked her own clothes—everything was still intact.
Just then, the soundly “asleep” Ye Ruihuan suddenly spoke:
“Don’t move. Just sleep a little longer.”
Ye Ruihuan’s arms tightened around her waist.
That crisp, elegant voice was laced with sleepy huskiness, enough to intoxicate anyone. Lin Ruijiao carefully studied her sleeping face—devoid of its usual frosty arrogance, now softened into something almost gentle. Her flawless features were tinged with a rosy flush, looking delicate and beautiful, almost ethereal.
Lin Ruijiao couldn’t help but stare a little longer. Eventually, she closed her eyes again, resigned to resting a bit more. But her mind was busy, trying to figure out how to handle Ye Ruihuan going forward.
Still, the warmth of the embrace and the faint fragrance clinging to it gradually blurred her thoughts.
Sunlight grew steadily brighter through the window. Eventually, Ye Ruihuan stirred.
When she opened her eyes, they were full of tenderness, the usual coldness in her demeanor nowhere to be seen. She looked like a soft, graceful beauty.
“You really don’t stay still when you sleep,” she said with a smile in her voice.
And to Lin Ruijiao’s surprise, that smile sounded almost… affectionate?
“I didn’t—it’s you who didn’t behave,” Lin Ruijiao muttered, her round eyes misty, her pink lips lightly bitten and even more tender-looking.
“Yes, yes, I’m the one who misbehaved,” Ye Ruihuan chuckled and gave her a lingering look before getting out of bed.
Lin Ruijiao sat up too, and her gaze accidentally landed on Ye Ruihuan’s exposed skin—fair and glowing, her chest partially revealed, her delicate collarbones right in front of her.
She quickly lowered her eyes, her cheeks flushing crimson.
Ye Ruihuan had definitely been acting strange lately. Her words sounded oddly… gentle.
The moment that word surfaced in her mind, Lin Ruijiao froze in shock. Gentle? How could she think Ye Ruihuan was gentle? That had to be a mistake.
When Ye Ruihuan emerged from the bathroom, she saw Lin Ruijiao sitting on the bed, spacing out. A stubborn cowlick stood straight up on her head. Smiling softly, she climbed onto the bed and reached out to smooth down her hair.
The unruly strands turned sleek and neat as her slender fingers slid through them.
Lin Ruijiao looked up at her, her eyes watery and unfocused.
Ye Ruihuan couldn’t resist and leaned in to kiss her lips.
A fresh scent hit Lin Ruijiao’s nose. Her eyes flew wide open, and she instinctively pushed her away.
Ye Ruihuan’s smile froze for a moment. Then she curved her lips mischievously and teased, “What, didn’t like it?”
Her fingers gently stroked Lin Ruijiao’s cheek—so soft, so gentle.
