After Rebirth, the Cold and Aloof Film Queen Always Wants to Cuddle with Me - Chapter 33
Chapter 33
But in front of her, the two were shooting together, their hands touching each other’s faces, gazing at each other with deep affection, their noses almost touching—just a moment away from kissing.
Ye Ruihuan’s gaze toward them involuntarily carried a trace of hostility. Their next actions became even more intimate—embracing each other, half-lying on the floor pressed closely together…
Ye Ruihuan painfully shifted her sight away, no longer looking at them, fiercely restraining the urge in her heart to rush over and pull them apart. But before long, her gaze still subconsciously flicked back, laced with impatience.
The staff nearby quickly approached and asked, “Teacher Ye, do you need anything?”
“No, thank you,” Assistant Li stepped forward to express gratitude.
Following Ye Ruihuan’s line of sight, the people on stage were the popular yet controversial Lin Ruijiao and Chen Qing. Both performed well and looked beautiful. Everything around was normal, with nothing wrong.
That must be the Lin Ruijiao the internet was buzzing about, the one who had some grudge with Ye Ruihuan. Indeed, there was some history between them. The staff exchanged knowing glances, secretly whispering gossip.
After about half an hour, the two finished their shoot. The photographer dared not drag it out too long; after all, Director Ye was waiting.
After finishing, Lin Ruijiao and Chen Yin chatted playfully about little details during the shoot. Suddenly, Lin Ruijiao looked toward Ye Ruihuan and caught her gaze, freezing for a moment. Why was she staring at her?
“Ruijiao, Senior Ye is still here. Let’s go say hi before leaving,” Chen Yin said, pulling her over.
All eyes immediately focused on them, even the person in charge vigilantly watching, worried something might happen.
“Ye Jie, we’ll leave first,” Chen Yin smiled brightly and waved. Lin Ruijiao obediently stood by her side, doing nothing.
Ye Ruihuan nodded slightly, then shifted her gaze elsewhere with an air of indifference.
Afterwards, the two went to remove their makeup.
“Ruijiao, why didn’t you talk to Ye Jie?” Chen Yin asked puzzled. After all, they had no real conflict.
“It’s a bit awkward. The online incident was so big,” Lin Ruijiao sighed softly.
“Yeah… ah, don’t worry about it,” Chen Yin smiled at her.
Meanwhile, in the studio, Ye Ruihuan’s face showed no expression. The makeup artists finished adjusting her look, and she suppressed the emotions in her eyes.
Then, dragging a long red robe, she walked onto the stage. The background and props had been prepared in advance. Her expressionless look oddly suited the mood for the shoot perfectly.
Her makeup was more elaborate than Lin Ruijiao’s, but exquisitely refined. Her pinned-up black hair was adorned with gemstones and jade beads.
With a haughty gaze and a serene, lifted glance… every move of hers radiated the aura of a supreme ruler. In this scene, her cold and proud qualities were magnified many times, blending perfectly with the styling. She was absolutely perfect as the cover figure.
The photographer’s hands never stopped, praising her repeatedly. Before long, the shoot was done, and many extra shots were taken as backups.
But Ye Ruihuan didn’t care about any of this. While removing her makeup, she was only curious about the little bunny’s whereabouts. When would she come home?
“Xiao Li, does Lin Ruijiao have a schedule?” she asked softly, the staff around having mostly dispersed.
Assistant Li hurried to gather Lin Ruijiao’s information and handed over her itinerary.
When Lin Ruijiao returned, the villa lights were bright, and she immediately knew Ye Ruihuan must be waiting in the living room. Normally, the first floor wasn’t lit without anyone there.
She sighed lightly. She almost forgot that Ye Ruihuan lived with her—it really felt strange.
“Ruihuan,” she greeted softly, nodding to Ye Ruihuan who was curled up on the sofa in the living room.
“Mm, you’re back.” Ye Ruihuan kept watching the TV, holding a glass of wine, wearing a fluffy robe that looked warm. But her expressionless face was filled with coldness, even her naturally flowing black hair seemed particularly cool.
Without being called, Lin Ruijiao went straight upstairs. Jingjing went back to her room.
From the moment Lin Ruijiao appeared, Ye Ruihuan’s gaze stuck to her, watching cautiously from the corner of her eyes to avoid being noticed.
She knew the little bunny’s routine too well. At this time, she would surely go wash up and then get ready for bed. With such a tight schedule every day, there was hardly any time for rest.
Ye Ruihuan tiptoed to her door and indeed heard the sound of running water inside. She opened the door, holding the wine glass and the wine quietly as she slipped inside.
Just as Lin Ruijiao came out of the bathroom and was about to pounce onto the bed, an unexpected person appeared in the room. Lin Ruijiao was stunned, her true expression revealed without any disguise, a mix of surprise and helplessness.
No wonder Ye Ruihuan hadn’t called her earlier—it turned out she was waiting here. Lin Ruijiao didn’t know what to say for a moment. She clenched her hands tightly, the fluffy pajama pants wrinkled in her grip.
Then she acted as if she saw nothing, climbing onto the bed without acknowledging Ye Ruihuan, who was sitting with her back to her on the small sofa.
“Finished washing up?” Ye Ruihuan walked toward her holding the wine glass. “Want some wine?” She handed it over. “It’s just right before bed to help you sleep.”
Lin Ruijiao hesitated, staring at the pale, bubbling liquid in the cup, swallowing hard. “No, no…”
“It’s okay to take a sip.” Ye Ruihuan’s hand hung in the air, not yet pulling back.
“…Alright…” Lin Ruijiao had long abandoned her previous resolve. She reached out, took the cup, and sipped lightly. The sweet taste instantly exploded on every taste bud on her tongue. She couldn’t help but take another sip.
The corners of Ye Ruihuan’s mouth curled up wider. Apparently, the little bunny wasn’t just a lightweight drinker but also a true alcohol lover. All the effort she had put in wasn’t wasted.
Ye Ruihuan sat down on the edge of the bed, smiling softly at her, her brows gentle.
“Ruihuan, I’m done drinking,” Lin Ruijiao said, handing over the half-full cup, her smile slightly pleading.
Ye Ruihuan took it and placed it on the table. But the glass in her hand never left.
“I’m going to sleep now, Ruihuan.” Lin Ruijiao’s face flushed slightly, her voice soft and thick.
Ye Ruihuan’s eyes darkened. That sentence meant “You should leave.” She moved toward the table, took a sip of wine, and set the glass down.
Just when Lin Ruijiao thought Ye Ruihuan was going to leave, she suddenly stepped quickly to her side. One hand cupped the back of Lin Ruijiao’s head, while the other tightly restrained her hands.
A tingling sensation spread across her lips. Then the rich aroma of the wine rushed into her mouth in a flood. Before she could react, the wine slid down her throat and was swallowed.
