After Rebirth, the Cold and Aloof Film Queen Always Wants to Cuddle with Me - Chapter 50
Chapter 50
“…Mm.” Lin Ruijiao nodded slowly, the wine glass still in her hand, eyes filled with contemplation.
“Do you two want a drink?” Ye Ruihuan looked at Assistant Li and Jingjing.
The two shook their heads in unison. In a situation like this, something was bound to happen—better not to drink at all.
Assistant Li gave Jingjing a look, and the two tactfully left, giving them space to be alone.
When Lin Ruijiao looked up again, she met Ye Ruihuan’s gentle gaze. She took another small sip of wine, letting the rich taste fill her mouth and blur her thoughts. At this moment, she didn’t know what to say. Their relationship had reached an awkward standstill—especially after all that had happened. More so because she had rejected Ye Ruihuan’s confession. Trying to flatter or approach her now might lead to unnecessary misunderstandings.
Lin Ruijiao hesitated internally, and finally decided to just stay quiet and let the silence remain.
Ye Ruihuan’s eyes frequently lingered on her. Dressed in a sexy and glamorous outfit, her smile was impossibly gentle, and her features were full of unmistakable affection. It made Lin Ruijiao unable to meet her gaze—she quickly looked away, dodging her eyes.
But these small gestures only made Ye Ruihuan’s smile brighter. From these little details, didn’t it suggest that Ruijiao wasn’t completely rejecting her? That maybe she still cared, even just a little? After all, she wasn’t showing that earlier coldness or hostility anymore.
After watching Lin Ruijiao quietly for a long time, Ye Ruihuan finally let go of most of her nervousness.
Her black dress made her skin look even whiter. Every inch of exposed skin was tantalizing, and the elegant makeup gave her a dazzling charm. Now that she was relaxed, a radiant glow seemed to emanate from her. That reignited confidence made her even more attractive, but without any arrogance—just enough to make anyone want to approach her.
Unconsciously, Lin Ruijiao finished the wine in her glass. But she still seemed deep in thought, weighed down by something heavy in her heart.
Ye Ruihuan calmly refilled her glass, and also topped off her own. “Ruijiao, have a bit more,” she said gently. “Let’s not waste it.”
Lin Ruijiao stared at the full glass, debating with herself. It had been a while since she drank, and she’d been under a lot of stress lately. With no upcoming work, a little alcohol wouldn’t hurt. Given their current dynamic, Ye Ruihuan probably wouldn’t try anything inappropriate. After weighing the pros and cons, her desire won out, and she slowly reached for the glass.
The wine was aromatic and went down smoothly. Lin Ruijiao took one sip after another. Before long, more than half the glass was gone. A soft blush appeared on her cheeks, her round eyes shimmering and dazed. She looked like she was already at her limit.
She kept sipping unconsciously. The room felt hotter; everything seemed to sway before her, double images forming. She suddenly realized—uh oh, she drank a bit too much again.
Quickly placing the glass down, she forced a faint smile, her voice husky and soft: “Ruihuan… I’m going back now…” Her voice was light and gentle, laced with a blurry confusion.
But Ye Ruihuan heard it clearly. She stood up quickly and went to her side, wrapping an arm around her and placing a hand on her waist.
Immediately, warmth spread through Lin Ruijiao’s waist where Ruihuan touched her. The sudden closeness made her feel a bit of pressure. Her fading consciousness made her try to push the other away to escape her touch. But she lost balance and tilted to one side.
Ye Ruihuan reacted quickly, catching her in her arms. Looking at the flushed face in her embrace, the misty eyes, the soft and dewy pink lips—Ye Ruihuan couldn’t help but swallow. The little bunny in her arms was just too tempting.
“All right, stand properly…” she said gently, filled with affection and doting care.
But Lin Ruijiao still couldn’t stand steadily, swaying with every step. Ye Ruihuan had no choice but to hold her firmly, her hand gripping her soft waist, afraid to let go.
Lin Ruijiao kept stumbling forward, yet her head was turned toward Ye Ruihuan. Their eyes met. Her face was red, eyes misty, pink lips pouting, emitting the scent of wine, watery and dreamy.
Ye Ruihuan could no longer hold back—she kissed her.
Their lips met—soft, warm, and sweet. It made Ruihuan dizzy with intoxication.
Before she could pull back, Lin Ruijiao slightly pursed her lips. It was uncertain whether she was resisting or responding.
To Ye Ruihuan, that could only mean one thing—an invitation.
She couldn’t hold back any longer. A mere taste wasn’t enough. She sucked on her lips, gently licking and caressing. The ambiguous atmosphere exploded. She pushed her tongue forward, launching a full invasion, savoring the sweetness.
Lin Ruijiao was trapped in her arms, unable to resist or escape the stormy kiss. The air around them felt charged, every molecule igniting like fireworks, leaving behind a sky of dazzling sparks. The dreamy haze drew them deeper into their shared intoxication.
The soft touch, the sweet scent, made Ye Ruihuan’s heart pound like a drum, pushing her actions beyond her control.
Finally, she pulled back, still reluctant, keeping Lin Ruijiao tightly in her arms.
Though slightly drunk, Lin Ruijiao still had some awareness. She struggled to escape her embrace, slapping at Ruihuan weakly with no strength.
Helpless, she rolled her eyes at her, but her misty round eyes made it look more like a flirty wink—charming and playful.
Seeing her like this, Ye Ruihuan couldn’t help but laugh, eventually supporting her up the stairs.
Lin Ruijiao staggered into the bathroom and washed her face. She felt a bit more clear-headed, but still walked unsteadily. Her drunken state remained—this little bunny really couldn’t hold her liquor.
Ye Ruihuan kept a close watch, worried she might fall.
Unexpectedly, Lin Ruijiao came directly toward her. Though unsteady, her path was clearly aimed at her.
Ye Ruihuan stepped forward to catch her, holding her tightly. But Lin Ruijiao didn’t lean on her—instead, she placed one hand on Ruihuan’s stomach.
She kept walking forward. Ye Ruihuan had to step back in sync, eventually finding herself pressed against the wall. The cold, hard surface surprised her. Her smile froze—what was Ruijiao trying to do?
Her face flushed, eyes misty, Lin Ruijiao locked eyes with her.
Her fierce stare seemed vengeful, as if she wanted Ruihuan to taste the pain and frustration she’d once endured. But the watery shine in her eyes softened those emotions, making Ruihuan unsure.
Lin Ruijiao leaned closer. Their breaths mingled, almost touching at the tips of their noses. Ye Ruihuan unconsciously gulped, eyes drawn to her luscious lips.
“Ye Ruihuan…” Lin Ruijiao called softly. Her gentle, sultry voice was like an angel whispering in her ear, the cramped space tinged with the scent of wine and Ruijiao’s own fragrance—utterly intoxicating.
Ye Ruihuan froze, her heart pounding wildly, breath halting. Her eyes shone with affection and a flicker of anticipation, hoping the other would do something intimate.
She swallowed nervously—but nothing came.
Looking up, she saw the teasing smile in Lin Ruijiao’s blurred eyes.
Only then did she realize—this little bunny was playing her, teasing her to watch her squirm. But Ruihuan didn’t mind one bit. Ruijiao wasn’t afraid of her taking things too far.
Ye Ruihuan grinned even wider.
She let her hand fall slowly to Ruijiao’s waist again, feeling the soft familiar curve.
Lin Ruijiao widened her eyes, startled and sweet, “Let go. Don’t move,” she said coldly. But her airy, soft tone carried no weight.
Still, Ye Ruihuan obediently complied, moving her hand away.
“Good girl…” Lin Ruijiao smiled, satisfied.
She braced a hand on the wall, tiptoeing to align her eyes with Ruihuan’s, half a head taller than her. With a mischievous smile, she reached out and gently stroked Ruihuan’s face, meeting her gaze.
She tucked a strand of hair behind Ruihuan’s ear, then pinched her red ear tip and rubbed it, letting her fingers trail down her high nose bridge, finally stopping at her rose-colored lips. The bright lipstick color made her pause and press lightly with her thumb.
“Do you like me?” she asked in a slow, enchanting tone. Her lips curled into a mischievous grin, the drunken haze making her like an alluring little demon.
Catching Ruihuan’s heart, she nodded, licking her lips uncontrollably. Her heart thundered, and the dreamy atmosphere blurred her judgment—she gave in to instinct.
Ruijiao’s slender fingers traced downward—across Ruihuan’s fair neck, over her delicate collarbone—and gave it a firm squeeze. The smooth, curved texture left her mesmerized.
Lin Ruijiao grinned—she’d finally gotten back at her. If Ruihuan could tease her before, now it was her turn. Since she had already confessed, this was her privilege. Drunk and uninhibited, Ruijiao unleashed her true self without restraint.
