After Retirement, Living a Stud Life in Another World - 196
Chapter 196: Adele’s Birth
Beatrice, carrying her small body with her stomach visibly swollen, was panting. Despite the growing belly, Adele continued to swiftly handle tasks with her tall frame, moving light and agile as usual. Watching these two women, both pregnant with my child but so different in their behavior, made me smile.
“Hmph. Lutz just enjoys planting his seed, but the field that gets planted in is the one that has to endure,” Beatrice puffed her cheeks at me, clearly irritated.
I knew pregnancy could be tough, and I felt bad for laughing. It was inconsiderate.
“Don’t pout, Beatrice. You’ve been so happy, rubbing your belly and talking about how lucky you are. That happiness was given to you by Lutz, wasn’t it?” Adele said as she stroked her own belly, her voice firm and dignified, as always. She scolded Beatrice in a slightly smug way.
Beatrice, who had been caught in her own emotions, stopped sulking and, with a sudden change in expression, puckered her lips and leaned into me, burying her nose in my chest.
“Sigh… I feel so calm when I smell Lutz’s scent,” she murmured, as if she were a dog. No, she’s my dog-like wife now.
I found her adorable, so I instinctively rubbed her golden hair, playfully tousling it.
“Treating me like a child… I don’t like it,” Beatrice pouted, looking up at me with her jade-green eyes, still reminding me of a dog. Even though my list of wives and lovers had grown, this particular cuteness was definitely Beatrice’s unique charm. Wait, now that I think about it, Michaela also fit the “dog” category.
“Touching your wife and still thinking about other women… You really are a monkey, Lutz,” Beatrice said, her tone darkening.
Oops, it seemed that Beatrice had activated her “Spirit’s Eyes” ability, and she could clearly read my wandering thoughts. I panicked for a moment—did I have inappropriate feelings for Michaela? No, surely not! Michaela saw me as an older brother… maybe even a father figure. She was like a stray dog who had followed me around after I showed her kindness.
“You can be such a womanizer, but sometimes you’re so oblivious,” Beatrice added, reading me like an open book.
“Huh?” I asked, confused.
“That girl is ready for you now,” she said matter-of-factly.
“Really?” I asked, surprised. I thought Michaela’s interests were more in street food than in anything romantic.
Beatrice didn’t offer more information, only adding, “Well, you’re going to be the next prince consort, so you should pave your own path. By the way, Adele, what’s that?” She suddenly noticed Adele’s behavior.
“Heh heh, I’m taking some of the magic from the baby in my belly so I can feel closer to Lutz,” Adele said with a mischievous grin, clearly enjoying her moment.
I realized that Adele had taken my left hand and placed it on her belly, where I could feel her warmth. As usual, I couldn’t feel any magic, but I knew my own magic was flowing into Adele and the child inside her.
“Mmm… Lutz’s magic is exceptional,” Adele said, her usual composed face relaxing into a blissful expression. Seeing her like that made me wish I could experience that “pleasure” of magic, but of course, that wasn’t happening for me.
“Adele, give my husband back,” Beatrice said with a hint of annoyance.
“It’s just for a moment longer, please. Mmm, this feels so satisfying…” Adele didn’t look away from Beatrice as she deliberately teased her.
“The baby in my belly seems to like it too… Ah!” Adele suddenly gasped as she felt something change.
At that moment, I could feel the baby inside Adele suddenly stir. Her muscles tightened as if in preparation.
“Oh, ah… It’s coming!” Adele gasped.
“What? Quickly, get the midwife!” I shouted.
“Yes, right away!” the maid answered urgently.
As things got hectic in the office, I stood there, completely useless, just watching the situation unfold. It seemed that being a man didn’t help in situations like this in both this world and the last.
“Good job, Adele. Your baby looks just like you—so strong and dignified,” Beatrice praised as Adele sighed with relief.
The labor had gone smoothly, lasting about two hours. It seemed like a quick delivery for a first child, though I couldn’t know what it truly felt like. The newborn had purple hair and navy eyes, and although I couldn’t tell much about the baby’s features just yet, the overall vibe was very much like Adele’s.
“Thank you. I would have been even happier if the child had looked like you, Lutz… But I shouldn’t be greedy. I’ve been blessed with such a beautiful child,” Adele said, with a soft smile as she gently touched the newborn’s hair. It was a touching moment.
“But this is just a prelude. Soon, Beatrice will give birth to the most noble child in Berzenbrück,” Adele said.
“Yeah, I’ll do my best,” Beatrice responded, as she subtly drew my hand to her belly, pressing it to the large swell of her stomach. I could feel my magic flow into her again.
“Ugh… I think it’s coming!” Beatrice suddenly exclaimed.
“Quick! Get the healer!” someone shouted.
Wait… two births in one day?
