After Swapping Bodies with the Movie Queen, She Ended Up with Me (GL) - Chapter 10
Ming Qiao’s words sent the barrage into a frenzy. Everyone knew the two didn’t get along, and now Ming Qiao’s statement proved their relationship was so bad they didn’t even have each other’s contact information.
“How does Ming Qiao have the nerve to ask for Mu Lingwan’s contact? Where does she get such thick skin? Has she forgotten what her attitude was like when she left before?”
Â
“LMAO, she actually said it out loud! Look how Mu Lingwan’s eyes widened in disbelief—so adorable!”
Â
“Don’t add her! What kind of person is she? Probably just setting it up so Mu Lingwan rejects her, then she can play the victim and trend on Weibo.”
Â
“What a malicious woman.”
But some of Ming Qiao’s fans weren’t happy.
“What, is Mu Lingwan some big shot now? Asking for her WeChat is such a big deal?”
Â
“If you ask me, Mu Lingwan’s the toxic one. Using her seniority to bully newcomers—why else would Ming Qiao leave her agency? Clearly Mu Lingwan’s the problem.”
Â
“Hogging all the good resources for herself, leaving scraps for others. Our Ming Qiao only blew up because she lucked into a lead role Mu Lingwan rejected—otherwise she’d still be slaving away under her.”
Then there were some baffling shippers in the comments.
“My ship has finally sailed!”
Both fanbases: “????”
Rong Qing, of course, knew nothing about this. She just stared at Ming Qiao in surprise—those cool, beautiful eyes, deep brown pupils gazing at her gently, waiting for her response.
Add her or not?
Rong Qing didn’t hesitate. The next second, she smiled, eyes curving sweetly as she said, “Of course, I’ll accept right now.”
After adding Ming Qiao and Xu Qing to her contacts, she glanced at Jiang Jiang and Shen Nian, diplomatically adding, “Let me add everyone else too. We’re all friends now—it’ll make chatting easier.”
Shen Nian hadn’t expected her to take the initiative. Her heart skipped a beat when the friend request notification popped up on her phone.
Jiang Jiang casually hit accept, quickly adding a note to Rong Qing’s contact.
With the exchanges done, the cameraman zoomed in for a close-up before the six guests carried their luggage into the manor.
The estate was enormous—the vast lawn meticulously maintained, easily the size of a football field. The main path featured artificial rock formations, fountains, and shrubs trimmed into elaborate shapes, giving the impression of a European castle.
“Wow, this place is huge!” Xu Qing pushed open the grand front door first, eyes widening at the opulent foyer. Turning to Rong Qing, she said, “Lingwan, this is way bigger than your place, right? I remember you having a similar manor abroad.”
Rong Qing paused, murmuring a soft “Mmm” before turning to take in the surroundings.
Cameras were already positioned throughout what could barely be called a living room—it was more like a ballroom, spacious enough for dancing. At the far end, a curved staircase stretched to the second floor beneath a vaulted ceiling adorned with European-style frescoes of angels and robed figures.
Watching Rong Qing survey the space, Xu Qing’s expression darkened, her gaze lingering until she noticed someone else watching her. Only then did she slowly look away.
The girl named ‘Rong Qing’ was staring straight at her with a somewhat conflicted look in her eyes, as if she had something to say.
Xu Qing: “…” No way?
“Next, our guests will draw lots to assign rooms,” the director announced through a small megaphone to the six participants. “In pairs, one representative from each couple will draw a room number. There are three types of rooms: a suite with two bedrooms and a living room, a twin room with two beds, and a double room with one bed.”
The director’s gaze swept over the three couples as he pulled out three cards from his pocket, cheerfully adding, “What kind of room you get depends entirely on your luck.”
While the other two options were fine, the one-bed arrangement was clearly intentional. Young, passionate couples sharing a bed would undoubtedly attract more attention—and if anything happened, they’d become the talk of the episode.
Who wouldn’t want to see sweet romance? Even better if it turned a bit spicy!
Having navigated the industry for years, Mu Lingwan was well aware of the production team’s tricks. The lack of a script so far made her strongly suspect this show was targeting her.
She turned to Rong Qing and asked, “Should you or I draw the lot?”
The other couples were also discussing who would draw. After a moment’s thought, Rong Qing replied, “I’ve never had good luck with draws. Maybe you should do it.”
Mu Lingwan nodded. “Alright, I happen to be quite good at this.”
Rolling up her sleeves, she approached the director and drew a card. When she opened it, her vision nearly darkened.
“Ah, congratulations, Teacher Rong Qing!” the director beamed at her. “You’ve got the one-bed room!”
Mu Lingwan: “…”
Rong Qing: “…”
They’d forgotten—their bodies were swapped now. Apparently, their luck had followed their physical forms.
Dragging her luggage upstairs, Rong Qing glanced at the sullen-faced Mu Lingwan in the elevator. After hesitating, she finally said, “I’ve always had bad luck. Sorry about this.”
Mu Lingwan gave her a sidelong glance and shook her head. “It’s fine. Let’s check out the room first and put our things down.”
The second floor of the villa was spacious, but their assigned room was surprisingly small—barely 15 square meters, comparable to a budget chain hotel. It came with a tiny shower stall, and while the window wasn’t large, the ventilation and lighting were passable.
Though compact, the bed was generously sized with high-quality linens catering to celebrity preferences, making the overall setup decent enough.
“Small, but livable,” Mu Lingwan remarked, noticing the cameras set up in the room. Turning to Rong Qing, she added, “Looks like we’ll be sharing a bed tonight.”
Rong Qing shifted uncomfortably but nodded in resignation.
As they finished unpacking, Assistant Zhang knocked on their door. “Teachers, the director has scheduled individual interviews in five minutes. I’ll come get you one by one.”
Hanging clothes in the closet, Rong Qing smiled at the assistant. “Understood.”
Xiao Zhang gave the two people in the room a puzzled glance. Mu Lingwan was bustling about packing her luggage, while the newcomer Rong Qing sat on the sofa by the bed like a master, fiddling with her phone without even looking up at Xiao Zhang’s words.
Is it the new trend now for an A-list actress to serve an eighteen-tier celebrity?
Though confused, Xiao Zhang knew celebrity affairs were often inexplicable. Perhaps this Rong Qing had some special ability to tame the top-tier Mu Lingwan so completely.
“Alright,” Xiao Zhang said, still somewhat dazed, “I’ll go notify the other teachers then.” Before leaving, she quietly closed the door behind her.
Mu Lingwan looked up, frowning slightly as she leaned back on the sofa. She was calculating that this show would surely stir up trouble—something unexpected might happen during the solo interview segment. She felt it necessary to give Rong Qing a heads-up.
“Xiao Qing,” Mu Lingwan began, “During the solo interview later, answer truthfully what you know, and just smile and decline what you don’t. The production team won’t give you a hard time.”
With Mu Lingwan’s superstar status and the entire show being tailored around her, the directors wouldn’t dare trouble Rong Qing if they wanted to keep their jobs. The real trouble might come for Mu Lingwan herself.
But it shouldn’t be too much of a problem… right?
Rong Qing nodded. She had already mentally prepared herself—whatever Mu Lingwan said, she would follow.
Five minutes later, assistant Xiao Zhang returned to escort Rong Qing to the living room.
A new sofa had been placed in the center, surrounded by cameras arranged in a semicircle. Rong Qing’s heart raced at the sight, and even after sitting down, she still felt somewhat unnatural.
“Nervous meeting Teacher Mu for the first time, huh?” The director sat on a small stool beneath the cameras, smiling as he twirled a pen. “I believe this is your first time participating in a dating show like this. How does it feel?”
Rong Qing had already prepared her responses. Zhou Ying had secretly sent her the questions earlier upstairs, so she roughly knew how to answer.
“It is indeed my first time on this kind of variety show,” Rong Qing replied with a smile. “It feels quite fresh and very interesting.”
The director spun his pen, eyeing Mu Lingwan thoughtfully before speaking. “Next, I’ll ask a few questions that the audience is particularly curious about.” He glanced at his notebook. “How did Teacher Mu and her girlfriend meet?”
Rong Qing chuckled lightly. “We met on set.”
“Could you elaborate? I think the audience would love to hear the details.”
“Well… it was actually quite ordinary,” Rong Qing said. “There was a minor accident during filming—we both fell into the water and were sent to the hospital. That’s how we got to know each other.”
The director nodded. “I see. So your relationship hasn’t been very long then. How long have you two been together?”
“About two and a half months.”
“What do you like about each other?”
“Her straightforwardness and sincerity. Though she can be a little temperamental at times, I find it endearing. We complement each other well.”
“Have you kissed?”
Rong Qing froze. “Huh?”
The director blinked, grinning at her. “Oh, perhaps that question isn’t necessary. The audience already knows you two have kissed.”
After all, it had trended on social media—impossible to miss.
“Let’s change the question then,” the director said, studying her. “Who made the first move?”
