After Swapping Bodies with the Movie Queen, She Ended Up with Me (GL) - Chapter 11
Rong Qing’s face flushed crimson in an instant.
She recalled all the efforts they had made to switch back to their original bodies—praying to gods and Buddhas, trying everything they could. But the most outrageous moment was when Mu Lingwan had pinned her down in the car and kissed her. At the time, Rong Qing’s mind had gone completely blank, unable to comprehend why the other woman had suddenly kissed her out of nowhere.
That had happened nearly two months ago. Afterward, when Mu Lingwan realized that kissing didn’t seem to have any effect, she had probably given up on the idea. Rong Qing had almost forgotten about it—until the director’s casual remark brought the memory rushing back.
Noticing how red Rong Qing’s face had become, the director’s interest was immediately piqued. His eyes lit up as he asked, “Oh? Was it Rong Qing who made the first move?”
Rong Qing’s face burned even hotter. She quickly turned away from the camera, pressing the back of her hand against her scorching cheeks. But with cameras of all sizes surrounding her, there was no way to hide.
“…Yes,” Rong Qing admitted helplessly. “She was the one who initiated it.”
The expressions of the director and the rest of the crew shifted instantly, their faces alight with gossipy curiosity. However, out of respect for Mu Lingwan’s status, they restrained themselves from making too big a deal out of it. The director fell silent for a long moment before jotting something down on a piece of paper and passing it to the assistant director beside him.
“That’s really quite unexpected,” the director admitted frankly. “I would’ve thought Teacher Mu would be the one to take the lead. But it’s fine—it’s normal for either partner to have moments of impulsiveness in a relationship. It’s clear that the two of you genuinely care for each other. May I ask why Teacher Mu decided to join our show, Heartbeat in Progress?”
“Because I’ve never been on a show like this before, and I wanted to experience it with my girlfriend.”
“What are your thoughts on the other guests, Teacher Mu?”
“…”
The rest of the questions were fairly standard. The director asked, and Rong Qing answered, her blush gradually fading. Once the interview concluded, the director smiled and said, “Alright, Teacher Mu, that wraps up the solo interview. You can go back and rest now. After lunch, we’ll have a small game in the afternoon—please wait for further instructions.”
Rong Qing nodded and stood up, following her assistant, Xiao Zhang, upstairs. Though Xiao Zhang was burning with curiosity, she didn’t dare turn around to look. She led Rong Qing into the room where Mu Lingwan was still sitting on the sofa, absorbed in a match-three puzzle game. The room was filled with the cheerful sound effects of the game.
Standing at the door, Xiao Zhang called out, “Teacher Rong Qing, please come with me for your solo interview.”
Mu Lingwan reluctantly tore her gaze away from the game. When she saw Rong Qing avoiding eye contact, her face still tinged with lingering redness, she couldn’t help but ask, puzzled, “What’s wrong? Why is your face so red?”
“Nothing,” Rong Qing muttered, pressing the back of her hand to her cheek again. Too embarrassed to meet Mu Lingwan’s eyes, she simply said, “I’m going to the bathroom,” before darting away.
Mu Lingwan was left bewildered, but Xiao Zhang was already waiting outside. She had no choice but to lock her phone screen, set it aside, and follow her downstairs.
Meanwhile, the director was downstairs scrolling through fan discussions. When Mu Lingwan arrived, he barely glanced at her before motioning for her to take a seat.
The fans were buzzing with excitement, passionately debating the revelation that it had been Rong Qing who initiated the kiss between her and Mu Lingwan.
“Is Rong Qing really that scheming? Turns out she was the one who leaned in for that kiss in the viral photo. I always thought that pose looked strange—Mu Lingwan was clearly pinned to her seat!”
“I can’t stand it. How could this woman be so cunning? She’d do anything to climb the social ladder and gain fame.”
Â
“If not for this show, I’d have thought she was some innocent little flower. Turns out she’s a whole pomegranate—full of seeds (schemes).”
The director scrolled through these comments for a long while before finally looking up at Mu Lingwan seated across from him on the sofa. With a smile, he asked, “Miss Rong Qing, have you participated in similar programs before?”
Mu Lingwan, arms crossed and reclining against the backrest, was dressed simply today in a white shirt and jeans that accentuated her figure. She lifted her eyelids to give the director a cool glance, reminding herself to answer according to Rong Qing’s circumstances.
“This is my first variety show,” she said. “It feels quite fresh.”
The director chuckled. “You share Teacher Mu’s perspective. She also found our program refreshing and interesting.”
Mu Lingwan smiled. “Is that so?”
Well, of course. Zhou Ying had only sent one script, which they’d reviewed together. But Mu Lingwan, with her wealth of experience, didn’t need to memorize it—just a glance told her how to proceed.
“So how did you and Teacher Mu meet?”
“On set. We got acquainted in the hospital after both falling into the water.”
“How long have you two been dating?”
“About two months.”
“What do you like about her?”
“She’s beautiful, generous, and embodies everything I admire. She’s the most perfect person in my eyes.”
The director looked surprised. “That’s high praise.”
Mu Lingwan’s lips curled into a smug smile. “She deserves it.”
Though praising herself was a bit shameless, Mu Lingwan was currently Rong Qing—a minor D-list celebrity. Was there any problem with Rong Qing admiring her? Absolutely none!
The director raised an eyebrow, glancing at the newly acquired documents in his hand—details about Rong Qing’s activities over the past two months, compiled by his assistant. Previous seasons of Heartbeat Moment had focused on delivering sweet romance to viewers but lacked tension, resulting in declining viewership later on.
With a new production team this season, he intended to change tactics, making the show more gripping as it progressed.
And today, this newcomer would be his first test subject.
“During Teacher Mu’s interview earlier, she mentioned you initiated the kiss,” the director said, looking up at Mu Lingwan. “Viewers suspect this was all your plan to ride on Mu Lingwan’s coattails and trend on hot search.””
Mu Lingwan’s expression instantly turned frosty.
Oblivious, the director pressed on with the same demeanor. “Did you start dating Mu Lingwan just to leverage her popularity? To trend by association and gain fame?”
“I heard you’ve left AG Girl Group. Why is that? Now that you’re famous, you’re abandoning your former teammates? Didn’t consider helping them up?”
“Why would Mu Lingwan, single for so many years, suddenly go public with you? Are you planning to tie your promotions together with her in the future? Did she not refuse because…”
The director looked at her calmly and smiled, saying, “Does Teacher Mu have some kind of leverage over you?”
Mu Lingwan stared at the director before her, her expression so dark it seemed she might leap up and kill someone on the spot.
Meanwhile.
Rong Qing sat listlessly in her room, gazing at the ocean view and the estate outside the window, wondering what chaotic little game the production team would arrange for the afternoon. She hoped they wouldn’t make things too difficult for her.
“Ah…” Rong Qing let out a long sigh.
Just then, someone walked into the room. Thinking it was Mu Lingwan, Rong Qing turned her head—only to see a familiar face.
“Teacher Xu Qing?” Rong Qing stared at the woman, both familiar and unfamiliar, and instinctively called out her name before freezing in surprise.
“Teacher… Xu Qing?” Xu Qing stood at the doorway, arms crossed as she scrutinized the ‘Mu Lingwan’ sitting inside. Narrowing her eyes slightly, she said, “How strange. I don’t recall Mu Lingwan ever being so polite as to call someone ‘Teacher.'”
