After Swapping Bodies with the Movie Queen, She Ended Up with Me (GL) - Chapter 3
Who is this person?
What’s her relationship with Rong Qing?
Mu Lingwan had no clue about any of this. She had initially thought it would be enough for Rong Qing to remember her own acquaintances, never expecting to encounter someone who knew Rong Qing in such a setting.
Rong Qing was just an obscure eighteen-tier celebrity—how could she possibly know someone who could attend Fashion Night??
The woman in the blue dress scoffed at Rong Qing’s expression, sizing her up with a mocking tone. “I thought you’d turned from a crow into a phoenix after clinging to Mu Lingwan, but it seems you’re still the same. What? Didn’t your dear Miss Mu Lingwan reserve a seat for her rumored girlfriend?”
Mu Lingwan frowned, her gaze icy as she stared at the woman. “Who are you? Do I know you? What does my relationship with Mu Lingwan have to do with you?”
The woman looked stunned, her eyes widening in disbelief. “How dare you talk to me like that? Don’t you remember you’re a member of AG, and I’m your captain?”
Oh, so she’s the captain.
Mu Lingwan felt no need to be polite anymore. She crossed her arms and leaned lazily against the wall, not even sparing the woman a glance as she said coldly, “Whether you’re AG’s captain or GA’s captain, this isn’t a place for someone like you. If you don’t want to be thrown out, go do your own thing and stop bothering me.”
The woman was furious. She clenched her dress—borrowed and needing to be returned—but didn’t dare wrinkle it. Yet, she couldn’t swallow her anger, biting her lip as she glared at Mu Lingwan. “Rong Qing, don’t think just because you’ve latched onto Mu Lingwan that you can do whatever you want. It’s just a fling between you two.”
Mu Lingwan lifted her eyes, her expression frosty, an inexplicable aura radiating from her that made the woman shudder slightly.
“You’ve got it wrong,” Mu Lingwan said, staring at her. “It’s not me clinging to Mu Lingwan—she’s the one relying on me. Got it?”
The woman froze, gaping at Rong Qing. Suddenly, she realized this version of Rong Qing was nothing like the one from half a month ago. Back in the group, Rong Qing had been meek and submissive, enduring bullying without complaint, quietly doing menial tasks.
But now, Rong Qing seemed like a completely different person—her presence was commanding, and the way she looked at her made her feel like a ridiculous clown, leaving her unable to retort.
“What?” Mu Lingwan smirked, tilting her head. “Still don’t get it? Should I call security to make it clearer for you?”
The woman snapped out of it, shooting Mu Lingwan a resentful glare. Knowing she had sneaked in and couldn’t afford to cause trouble, she swallowed her rage and stormed off.
Mu Lingwan watched her leave with disdain, then turned to see Rong Qing sitting nervously in her seat, clearly having heard everything through the earpiece.
Mu Lingwan tapped her ear and lowered her voice. “She said she’s your captain. Do you know her?”
“…I do,” Rong Qing whispered. “Her name is Xia Yiran. She’s AG’s captain and… also your fan.”
Mu Lingwan was taken aback.
She turned her head again to look at the long-departed blue gown, never expecting that she would actually confront her own fan.
“It’s fine,” Mu Lingwan said calmly. “With that attitude of hers, even if she’s my fan, she’s probably just a fake one.”
Mu Lingwan had seen plenty of these minor celebrities who claimed to be fans just to climb the social ladder. Usually, she would listen to their flattery and forget it immediately, never taking it to heart. The best outcome would be for such people to unfollow her—no one needed to be anyone’s fan.
This was all just work; there was no need for moral blackmail.
Rong Qing felt nervous after hearing this. She glanced back at Xia Yiran, who had already found a seat, and a faint unease settled in her heart. She had no idea how Xia Yiran would talk about her once back with the group.
The Fashion Night proceeded in an orderly manner. Rong Qing couldn’t understand much of it, nor did she have the mind to listen. Even when a top-tier celebrity beside her struck up a conversation, she only responded politely with a few words. Right now, all she wanted was to go home.
After half an hour of internal hesitation, the awards ceremony finally arrived. When her name was called, Rong Qing went on stage as a mere formality, holding the heavy trophy with a weary smile.
Just as she thought her work for the day was over, the host stopped her.
“Rumor has it that Mu Lingwan has a new girlfriend recently. Everyone’s curious—is it true?” The male host teased, looking at Rong Qing with a frivolous tone. “Since we’ve never heard any gossip about you before, everyone’s dying to know—what kind of stunning beauty could capture your heart?”
The host’s words stunned Rong Qing. Instinctively, she wanted to glance at Mu Lingwan standing by the emergency exit, but she controlled her expression. She knew she was standing in front of countless cameras—any slight reaction would be captured, and that would bring her no small trouble.
As Rong Qing hesitated, Mu Lingwan’s voice came through her earpiece: “Ignore him. Just say we’re friends, then leave the stage.”
Rong Qing opened her mouth to speak, but the host immediately cut her off. “Hey, don’t say ‘just friends,’ okay? We all saw it clearly. Mu Lingwan, don’t try to fool the live audience.”
This was getting aggressive. Mu Lingwan frowned. She didn’t recall ever offending this male host—she had no idea why he was suddenly pressing the issue.
“Don’t engage. Leave the stage,” Mu Lingwan said sharply.
Rong Qing’s face paled. She forced an awkward smile at the host, muttered an “excuse me,” and lifted her skirt to step down. The host chuckled dryly as she left and turned to the female host beside him. “Looks like Mu Lingwan doesn’t want to answer my question. What a shame—I’m really curious about what kind of beauty could catch her eye.”
The female host nearly rolled her eyes but continued reading the script with a smile. “Next up, let’s unveil the next award.”
Rong Qing practically fled the stage in a panic. She could feel the cameras snapping away at her relentlessly. Zhou Ying quickly approached, draping a blazer over her shoulders. Mu Lingwan also walked over discreetly and said to them both, “Let’s go back.”
Amidst countless cameras surrounding them, Rong Qing and the others quickly left the venue. Only after getting into the car did she finally relax, removing the earpiece hidden in her hair, her ears aching from being stretched for so long.
“This incident will definitely trend today,” Zhou Ying, sitting across from them, said. “We need to prepare our PR response in advance. Do either of you have any thoughts?”
“Thoughts?” Mu Lingwan frowned, leaning back in her seat. “What options do we have? Either deny it, admit it, or stay silent. No matter what we do, it’s going to trend anyway.”
“It’s unavoidable, but we still need to find a good solution,” Zhou Ying pondered for a moment before turning to Rong Qing, noticing she still seemed dazed, not fully recovered from what had just happened.
“Miss Rong, what are your thoughts?” Zhou Ying tossed the question her way.
Rong Qing looked up at the veteran agent. Honestly, she had no clue what to do—her mind was still in a fog. Watching the other two busily discussing options, it seemed all she needed to do was go along with whatever they decided.
“I’m fine with anything,” Rong Qing said. “You two decide.”
Mu Lingwan sighed. She wasn’t sure whether Rong Qing’s passive nature was a good or bad thing, but at least in this situation, she still held some authority.
“In that case, let’s go public,” Mu Lingwan declared. “Just say we’re officially dating.”
Rong Qing was startled, her eyes widening as she stared at Mu Lingwan. “What?”
“What?!” Zhou Ying was equally shocked, immediately turning to her. “Lingwan, are you serious? Announcing a relationship at a time like this? And you two…” You’ve known each other for less than two weeks.
Mu Lingwan, however, remained completely calm. “Given the current situation, Miss Rong and I can’t separate. She can’t act in my place, and I can’t perform her AG dances. The more we try to cover it up, the more mistakes we’ll make. Eventually, someone will notice the differences between us—wouldn’t that be even messier?”
Rong Qing opened her mouth, wanting to correct that AG dances weren’t exactly “otaku dances,” but seeing Mu Lingwan’s serious expression, she swallowed her words for now.
Zhou Ying frowned, deep in thought about the feasibility of this plan.
Ding—
All three of their phones chimed simultaneously. Mu Lingwan pulled hers out, rolled her eyes, and turned the screen to show them: a trending notification—Fashion Night: Mu Lingwan Refuses to Answer Questions.
Zhou Ying naturally saw it too. She tapped on it, and the first image that appeared was Rong Qing wearing Mu Lingwan’s face, looking utterly shocked. The accompanying text speculated wildly about the nature of their relationship.
“Five minutes ago, and it’s already trending,” Zhou Ying muttered, brows furrowed. “These people work fast. It’ll probably hit the top three in under ten minutes.”
“Won’t even take that long—it’s already in the top twenty,” Mu Lingwan said, scrolling through her phone.
Rong Qing sat quietly, staring at the trending topic on her phone. Her entire feed was flooded with the news—overwhelming and terrifying in its sheer volume.
So, this is what it feels like to trend…
Indeed, being a superstar isn’t something just anyone can handle. Cold sweat was already dripping down her forehead, leaving her speechless, while the two people beside her continued chatting casually as if nothing was wrong, speculating about when the news would hit the top of the trending list.
“Are you really sure about this?” Zhou Ying put away her phone, crossing her arms as she looked at Mu Lingwan. “Announcing your relationship on Weibo when it’s at the peak of trending?”
Mu Lingwan nodded, glancing at the stunned Rong Qing sitting beside her. “Let’s make it public. Just say it was love at first sight for both of us.”
