After Swapping Bodies with the Movie Queen, She Ended Up with Me (GL) - Chapter 7
“Hey~ hey~ hey~”
Xu Qing skillfully looped her arm through Rong Qing’s, greeting Mu Lingwan and Zhou Ying behind her with a cheerful, lilting tone: “Long time no see! So, you’re our Lingwan’s girlfriend? Absolutely adorable!”
Mu Lingwan’s face darkened instantly, glaring daggers at Xu Qing as if ready to pounce and bite. She turned angrily to Zhou Ying and demanded, “Weren’t we supposed to film at the resort? Why are we at a hotel?”
Zhou Ying, standing behind her, explained, “Filming starts tomorrow. Today’s just to meet the other participants.”
“Participants?”
“Right.” Zhou Ying glanced at Xu Qing before whispering behind Mu Lingwan, “I only got the final list this morning. Didn’t dare tell you earlier in case you backed out again.”
Mu Lingwan frowned. “Who else besides Xu Qing?”
“Ming Qiao, and… Shen Nian.”
“……”
Mu Lingwan now deeply regretted accepting this dating show invitation.
Xu Qing was fine—they got along well, and she was trustworthy enough to know their body-swapping secret. But Ming Qiao and Shen Nian? That was another story.
Ming Qiao was once Mu Lingwan’s protege, obedient at first until she grew wings after two years and went solo. While artists leaving to start their own studios was common, Ming Qiao’s subsequent career moves all seemed designed to one-up Mu Lingwan, leaving a bitter taste.
Mu Lingwan had few flaws but couldn’t stand rivals flaunting success in her face.
Outwardly they maintained polite acquaintance, but insiders knew Mu Lingwan avoided any event Ming Qiao attended. Why would the producers invite her?
And then there was Shen Nian…
The headache grew worse, even making Xu Qing’s presence irritating—especially how she clung to Rong Qing’s arm. Mu Lingwan snapped, “Had enough clinging, Teacher Xu? Need a heart-to-heart in my room tonight?”
Xu Qing blinked at the unfamiliar girl, struck by the familiar sarcastic tone.
Xu Qing: “…” Oh no. I think I like her.
Zhou Ying quickly intervened, asking Xu Qing, “Why are you here, Teacher Xu? You’re single, aren’t you?”
“Not anymore,” Xu Qing replied, still holding Rong Qing’s arm. “After Lingwan’s relationship reveal, I announced mine with my assistant, hence the invitation.”
“With your assistant?”
“Yep.” Xu Qing turned to see Rong Qing’s petrified expression. “You okay, Lingwan? You look pale—not feeling well?”
Rong Qing stiffly met her idol’s gaze, struggling to maintain composure.
How could she explain that Xu Qing—whose songs soundtracked her adolescence—now felt like a collapsed fandom dream with this relationship reveal?
“…Just,” Rong Qing forced out, heart bleeding, “a bit carsick, probably.”
Although Rong Qing was happy to be in close contact with Xu Qing, the news of her relationship still hit her like a bolt from the blue. Mu Lingwan noticed Rong Qing’s pale face, barely holding it together, and said to Xu Qing in a neutral tone, “Teacher Xu, we just got off the car. Let Lingwan rest for a bit first.”
Xu Qing paused for a moment before releasing Rong Qing’s arm and said, “Then let me take you to your rooms first. Our rooms happen to be right across from each other.”
Lugging their bags, Xu Qing led the group into the elevator like an enthusiastic tour guide, swiped the card to their floor, and brought them to a suite. With two beeps, she unlocked the door.
“Ta-da~” Xu Qing spread her arms and turned to Mu Lingwan and Rong Qing. “This is your room! What do you think? Like mine, it’s a sea-view suite with floor-to-ceiling windows!”
Still drowning in the sorrow of her idol being in a relationship, Rong Qing was ushered into the room. A casual glance upward immediately brightened her mood!
It was a spacious suite with a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows offering a breathtaking view of the azure sea and sky. The brown leather sofa and rustic color palette, bathed in warm yellow lighting, accentuated their fair and lovely complexions.
Rong Qing walked over to the window in awe, feeling an unparalleled sense of openness. Seeing her starry-eyed expression, Mu Lingwan stood beside her and said, “If you like it, take a photo.”
Rong Qing turned back in surprise. “Really?”
“Of course,” Mu Lingwan replied, also gazing at the distant coastline, relaxed. “Just make sure none of us are in the shot.”
With permission granted, Rong Qing whipped out her phone and snapped several pictures. Meanwhile, Xu Qing, standing behind them, furrowed her brows, sensing something off about Mu Lingwan.
Had Mu Lingwan’s personality changed while she was abroad?
After taking photos, Rong Qing pushed open the bedroom door to stash their luggage but froze at the entrance.
What a massive bed!
A bed in a hotel wasn’t unusual but why was there only one bed in such a large room?!
Mu Lingwan noticed the same issue and turned to Xu Qing. “Why is there only one bed?”
“Huh?” Xu Qing stepped closer, eyeing the neatly made bed in confusion. “What’s the problem with couples sharing a bed?”
Rong Qing shot Mu Lingwan a pleading look.
“I… prefer sleeping alone. Having someone next to me makes me uncomfortable,” Mu Lingwan said after a moment’s thought. “Could you book me another room?”
“Is that really necessary?” Xu Qing studied the unfamiliar girl before her. Though she wanted to ask, “You’ve already kissed, why split rooms now?” she held back out of respect for Mu Lingwan’s girlfriend. Instead, she smiled and said, “Sure, I’ll arrange another room. Actually, this works out—I wanted to catch up with Lingwan tonight anyway.”
She turned to Mu Lingwan. “Wait for me tonight. I’ll come by at 9.”
Both Rong Qing and Mu Lingwan were startled. Handling Xu Qing together was tough enough—facing her alone would be downright dangerous for Rong Qing!
Mu Lingwan quickly interjected, “On second thought, let’s not waste money. One bed is fine. I’ll just go to bed early.”
“Huh? Not getting a room anymore?”
“No, we’re not.” Mu Lingwan eyed her warily. “We might be very busy tonight, so please don’t disturb us, Teacher Xu.”
The implication in her words was a little ambiguous. Xu Qing paused for a moment before flashing an understanding smile. She turned to Rong Qing and said cheerfully, “Ah, the world of adults—I get it. Let’s catch up another time. I won’t interfere with your couple time.”
Rong Qing’s face flushed red. Only after Xu Qing left and closed the door behind her did she finally look at Mu Lingwan. She opened her mouth, hesitated for a long moment, and then asked, “Did you really… have to use that excuse to get rid of her?”
Mu Lingwan glanced at her. “Do you have a better idea?”
Rong Qing closed her eyes and didn’t argue.
Admittedly, the excuse had worked instantly. Xu Qing had gotten this far in life because she knew how to read the room. There was no way she’d come back to bother Rong Qing and Mu Lingwan tonight.
“I’ll sleep on the couch in the living room,” Mu Lingwan said, pulling her luggage toward the living room. Rong Qing quickly spoke up, “No, I’ll sleep on the couch. You should take the bedroom—”
Mu Lingwan turned back and sighed. “What did you just say?”
Rong Qing blinked. “You should… sleep in the bedroom…?”
Mu Lingwan stared at her, waiting for her to reconsider. Rong Qing finally realized what she meant, her ears burning slightly as she lowered her voice. “Lingwan, you… you should take the bedroom. I’ll sleep on the couch.”
“Let’s not argue about this now,” Mu Lingwan said, sitting down on the sofa with her luggage. “If anyone finds out I took the bed while you slept on the couch, our cover would be blown.”
As she unpacked her things, she added, “It’s fine if people find out we’re fake lovers, but our real secret can’t get out. Otherwise, things will get messy.” She looked up at Rong Qing, who was still standing nearby. “Do you understand?”
Rong Qing nodded firmly and stepped forward to help unpack. “I know. I’ll play my part well and won’t cause you any trouble.”
Mu Lingwan’s gaze darkened as she thought of Ming Qiao. She just hoped things wouldn’t get too ugly when they saw her again tomorrow.
The next morning, Rong Qing woke up early, changed, and stayed in her room playing on her phone, unsure if Mu Lingwan—who had slept in the living room—was awake yet.
Ever since the news of her relationship with Mu Lingwan went viral, people she barely knew—or didn’t know at all—had started reaching out with sudden concern. Some even sent gifts.
When you’re down and out, everyone around you is cruel. When you’re famous, suddenly everyone becomes kind. Rong Qing had heard that saying before, but she’d never truly felt its meaning until now.
The people were the same—only their attitudes had changed. How many of them genuinely cared about her? Rong Qing could see right through them.
Ignoring the flattering messages, she decided to take a shower first.
The same body, the same parts.
Since they were both women, swapping bodies didn’t make much of a difference—except that her legs were longer now, her skin smoother, and her chest… well, it did seem a little fuller than before.
Rong Qing stood in the shower, looking down as the clear water streamed down her neck and shoulders into the deep valley between her br3asts. She couldn’t help but stare for a moment longer, then reached up to touch them almost unconsciously.
They did seem slightly softer than her own, didn’t they?
Was this what a carefully maintained celebrity’s body was like? The skin was pale and smooth, the br3asts were full, and the texture was incredibly pleasant—heavy like two soft mochi dumplings.
Just as Rong Qing was weighing the heft of her chest, Mu Lingwan pushed the door open without warning.
“Why aren’t you up yet at this hour? What… what are you doing?” Mu Lingwan frowned at the sight of Rong Qing in the transparent shower.
How could Rong Qing have forgotten—the hotel bathroom was completely see-through.
