- Chapter 30 - How Could Sister Lie?
He Shanjian had often heard people say, “The person who wrongs you knows better than you how wronged you are.” Now, he was experiencing the bitter truth of those words firsthand.
He hadn’t even touched that b1tch He Roushuang!
Yet she had collapsed like a rag doll, slamming the back of her head against the floor and leaving a bloody gash. Now, the entire company was staring at him with suspicious eyes.
Originally, everyone had sympathized with him.
After all, He Roushuang had rejected his proposal, then adopted a nearly identical plan with a plagiarism detection rate of 99%. Everyone unanimously believed she had stolen his idea. He Shanjian had even straightened his back a little, thinking he might finally earn his father’s support or be given a more important role.
But then…
In a fit of rage, he lashed out at his sister.
Whether someone at the company orchestrated it or not, rumors began to spread like wildfire. The narrative painted He Roushuang’s actions as being for the greater good of the company, claiming that while He Shanjian’s business proposal was brilliant, it was too radical.
It needed to be softened a bit.
He Roushuang’s rejection of the initial proposal followed by her introduction of a new strategy stemmed purely from her concern for the company’s development.
Moreover, the bloodstains on the floor from his assault on his sister resembled the fake bl00d splattered in a haunted house, creating a truly horrifying scene.
Overnight, every employee’s perception of He Shanjian shifted dramatically. They now saw him as a terrifyingly violent man.
“Dad, do you really believe I did this?”
He Shanjian slumped weakly into a chair, his gaze fixed on the man standing before him, hands clasped behind his back, radiating an aura of regal extravagance.
“Whether it’s true or not doesn’t matter. What matters is that the entire company believes it.”
He Wenzhi, a seasoned veteran, was as sharp as ever. He could see through his daughter’s somewhat clumsy performance, yet he couldn’t help but admire her.
She truly is my daughter, he thought. She inherited her mother’s looks and her fiercely independent spirit.
So, even if he had to use his own son as a whetstone, it was a price worth paying.
He Wenzhi’s thinking might have seemed cold-blooded and ruthless, but that was precisely the kind of person he was. Otherwise, he could never have built such a vast business empire.
“Dad, are you saying you knew?”
He Wenzhi nodded, clasped his hands behind his back, and turned to face his disappointing son.
“I knew, but she’s your sister.”
“Family scandals shouldn’t be aired publicly. If any negative news about Roushuang gets out, it will damage the company’s product sales.”
Hearing his father’s blatant favoritism toward He Roushuang, He Shanjian’s anger flared. He retorted, “Dad, you’re just more biased toward Roushuang!”
“I’m your son! In other families, sons are always favored. Why do you do the opposite?”
He Shanjian finally snapped, like a long-dormant volcano erupting.
He Wenzhi nearly suffered burns from the molten lava of his son’s rage. Faced with such a direct challenge, he paused for only a moment.
“Where did you pick up such outdated ideas?”
“Besides, I favor Roushuang because she doesn’t have a mother and needs extra care.”
He Wenzhi didn’t tell his son the truth, having already realized that the boy would redirect all his hatred toward He Roushuang.
“Family scandals shouldn’t be aired publicly, Dad. You know this is a disgrace, right? But my sister didn’t just commit one offense—she’s been gallivanting around, drinking and womanizing!”
“Two women being together isn’t unheard of, but who flaunts it like they do?”
“It’s utterly disgusting!”
Slap!
A thunderous slap echoed through the room.
“Don’t you dare speak of your sister like that!”
He Wenzhi was furious, his beard bristling and eyes blazing. He clearly hadn’t expected his son to utter such vile words.
His favoritism toward Roushuang was blatant, known throughout the company. Everyone said that the late “white moonlight” was an irreplaceable figure.
Almost no one dared to question this.
After all, the chairman himself was living proof. Even his second wife bore a striking resemblance to his late girlfriend.
Little did He Wenzhi know that the harder he struck, the faster his son’s hatred grew.
He Shanjian clenched his teeth, his heart seething with resentment for He Roushuang. It was all her fault for stealing the fatherly love that should have been his.
“Old man, did I hit a nerve? Are you losing your temper because I spoke the truth?”
“What good is He Roushuang? I’m your son! Only I can carry on your bloodline, continue the family line…”
The last words caught in his throat as He Wenzhi trembled with rage, coughing up bl00d as he clutched his mouth.
“Dad! Dad!” He Shanjian rushed forward to help, but his hand froze mid-reach. If this old man dies, he thought, I could seize the opportunity.
If I destroy the will, the inheritance would be split roughly evenly between me and He Roushuang.
He Shanjian’s hand hesitated, revealing the ruthless calculations of a “devoted son.”
Fortunately, the distance from the underground parking garage to the elevator was short. He Roushuang supported Shi Qing and walked her over.
“Sister, kiss me,” Shi Qing murmured, her mind a jumble of romantic experiences. Seeing He Roushuang before her, she couldn’t resist testing the knowledge that had been transferred to her.
He Roushuang finally managed to get Shi Qing into the elevator, only to find herself cornered in the cramped space. She glanced guiltily at the security camera.
“Shi Qing, not here,” He Roushuang said softly, her voice gentle as if coaxing a child. “There’s a camera.”
Shi Qing blinked groggily, her mind struggling to process the information. Then she smiled. “Then can I kiss you outside the elevator?”
He Roushuang knew she couldn’t refuse any longer and nodded. “Yes.”
Shi Qing’s heart bloomed with joy. As soon as the elevator doors opened, she pulled He Roushuang out. Her fingers trembling, she finally unlocked the keypad.
Before He Roushuang could react, a slender yet strong arm yanked her inside. Compared to the gentle, drizzling kisses in the car, this was a sudden downpour, a torrential storm of kisses that left He Roushuang breathless.
A flicker of doubt crossed her mind:Â Could Shi Qing really be straight?
Could a straight woman really kiss like this?
No way!
He Roushuang, who always knew exactly what she wanted, trembled slightly, nearly sliding down the cold wooden door.
Wait a minute!
I’m the Gold Master here, right?
He Roushuang vaguely remembered something and opened her eyes. The apartment was dark, the lights off, but at such close range, she could clearly see Shi Qing’s delicate features and the desire swirling in her eyes.
“Sister, you promised I could kiss you,” Shi Qing said, pressing her slightly swollen lips together, clearly displeased.
How could this person go back on their word? They clearly agreed, then pretended they didn’t! How could a sister be such a cheat?
Especially when she’s older than me!
He Roushuang: ……
Fine, I did promise the Female Lead. I can’t go back on my word now. We’re lovers anyway, so something’s bound to happen eventually. I can’t keep being so prudish.
Otherwise, she’ll figure out I’m just doing charity work in a second.
“Mm, keep kissing,” He Roushuang said, taking a deep breath to steady herself. She inhaled deeply, filling her lungs with oxygen, and launched a counterattack!
