Chapter 2: So, Little Sister, Want to Come Home with Me?
Zhou Tian followed the voice and looked over—only to fall straight into her smile.
It was a faint smile, the curve of her ruby-red lips just right. The cold aloofness that usually surrounded her vanished in an instant, replaced by a sultry charm. But the most captivating were those phoenix eyes—long, dense lashes half-lowered, glimmering with amusement and a playful glint.
It was like watching a plain flower bud suddenly bloom into dazzling brilliance—so breathtakingly beautiful that it stole your soul and made it impossible to look away.
Zhou Tian was completely absorbed, unable to snap out of it.
Until Wen Mingzhi parted her lips and a puff of smoke rolled out, veiling her face in a hazy cloud.
The thick scent of tobacco wafted toward Zhou Tian, jolting her halfway back to her senses. Strangely, for the first time, she didn’t find the smell unpleasant. In fact, it was kind of intoxicating. With her heart pounding wildly, she thought to herself, Guess I really can’t hold my liquor.
Just as her thoughts started drifting again, that alluring voice drifted into her ears.
“Do you smoke?” Wen Mingzhi asked, holding a cigarette between her long fingers and offering it toward her.
“…No, I don’t…” Zhou Tian quickly shook her head, her eyes lingering briefly on those perfectly manicured pink nails.
Seeing how shy she was, Wen Mingzhi let out another soft laugh. Then, she placed the cigarette between her own lips.
Zhou Tian’s face turned bright red. She raised her hand to feel her cheek—it was burning hot.
“How old are you?” Wen Mingzhi suddenly asked. Her cool, magnetic voice was low and husky, even more seductive.
“Twenty-three…” Zhou Tian replied quietly, sneaking glances at her.
“Graduated yet?”
“Mm… just graduated…” she answered honestly, slowly lifting her head to peek at the goddess beside her.
But Wen Mingzhi didn’t ask anything else.
Zhou Tian hesitated for a long time. Then, just as the other woman’s gaze floated back over, she gathered her courage and asked, “Jie… Um, big sister, how old are you?”
She instinctively adjusted the brim of her cap. She had thought about taking it off, but realized her hair underneath was probably a mess, so she gave up.
Swallowing hard, she nervously waited for a reply.
“Oh? Big sister? How do you know I’m older than you?” Wen Mingzhi teased, her voice playfully laced with amusement. The teasing lilt in her tone wrapped around Zhou Tian’s heart like silk thread.
“Ah? Aren’t you? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to assume…” Zhou Tian quickly apologized, lowering her head even further.
Even without looking, she could picture Wen Mingzhi’s enchanting face perfectly in her mind.
She was cold and distant on the surface, yet every word and action seemed to ooze seductive charm—like a fox demon from some old TV show who lured people off the righteous path.
Just thinking about touching her earlier made Zhou Tian’s heart threaten to leap out of her chest. Never in her 23 years had she felt this way about anyone—her heart beating so wildly, just because of an Omega she had only just met.
Then, a soft laugh drifted over. “You were right to call me that. I’m older than you, little sister.” As she spoke, a veil of smoke curled into the air.
Zhou Tian looked up in time to see it swirling around like white gauze, light and transparent, floating toward her.
And just in those few seconds, she tried her best to calm the joy and giddiness brought on by being called meimei—little sister.
The smoke dissipated, and their eyes met again. Wen Mingzhi’s phoenix eyes were brimming with amusement, her cold face now tinged with seductive beauty.
“First time here?” she asked. Zhou Tian nodded dumbly. Wen Mingzhi chuckled again.
Such a shy, innocent Alpha—how rare. Maybe I should take my friends’ suggestion seriously… she thought.
Soft laughter rang again, and Zhou Tian desperately turned her head away to avoid looking at her.
If this keeps up, she’s going to think I’m some creepy perv… How embarrassing…
She hung her head even lower.
Just then, the mood was broken by cheerful chatter.
“Why are you two just sitting there? Let’s drink—cheers!” said the Alpha who had first greeted Zhou Tian. One by one, their glasses were filled to the brim.
Zhou Tian lifted her drink with everyone else, stealing a glance at the goddess beside her. Wen Mingzhi already had her lips to the glass, and as Zhou Tian’s gaze lowered, she watched her pale, slender throat move as she swallowed—so mesmerisingly beautiful.
It sent tingles through Zhou Tian’s whole body. She looked down and took a small sip of her own.
Then another. And another.
“If you don’t want to drink, you don’t have to.” Wen Mingzhi turned to her, the corners of her lips lifting in a soft smile.
“…Huh? Oh, okay…” Zhou Tian froze, her hand suspended mid-air before she set the glass down on the table.
Everyone was toasting her, and she was starting to feel overwhelmed, even though she’d only taken small sips.
She glanced up at Wen Mingzhi, heart fluttering with warmth and sweetness.
“Guys, ease up a bit. Don’t bully her—she’s just a kid,” Wen Mingzhi said as she leaned over to stub out her cigarette in the ashtray.
“Aww~ our Mingzhi’s being protective now?”
“She’s barely had any! You used to scoff at people who couldn’t handle their booze.”
“Exactly, now you’re defending her? Tsk tsk…”
“C’mon, everyone knows more drinks means more possibilities…”
“…”
Everyone’s teasing made Zhou Tian bow her head even lower. Her cheeks, hidden under the brim of her cap, were burning crimson.
This is so… embarrassing…
“Alright, that’s enough,” Wen Mingzhi said coolly. She knew her friends too well—if she let them keep going, it’d never end. She promptly raised her glass and downed the whole thing. Then she turned the empty crystal glass upside down—bone dry.
“Happy now?” she said as she set the glass back down.
Zhou Tian hadn’t even had time to react—everything had happened so smoothly and quickly.
Everyone around the table praised her, while Zhou Tian lowered her gaze to the lip print left on the glass—deep red, right on the rim. She subconsciously licked her lips.
Wen Mingzhi glanced at her sideways and smiled, “Ignore them.”
Zhou Tian peeked up and nodded like a pecking chick. “Mm-hmm, okay…”
Cool and elegant, smart and composed—and when she smiled, charming and dangerous. Zhou Tian was completely entranced.
All she could think about was how Wen Mingzhi had defended her.
Her face, hidden beneath the brim of her cap, grew even redder. Her body burned with heat. Even her head was dizzy.
I must be drunk… I have to stay focused. I need to get her contact info!
Just as Zhou Tian was planning what to say, a soft voice interrupted her.
“I’m 30, little sister.” Wen Mingzhi said, taking a small sip and smiling at her.
“Ah? Okay… that’s great.” Zhou Tian stumbled over her words, nodding and sneaking a few glances.
She didn’t dare look straight at her—she didn’t want Wen Mingzhi to see how flustered she was.
Her fingers clenched tightly on her knees. No wonder… She’s so mature… Someone like her would never be interested in someone as childish as me…
She was starting to feel a little discouraged. As an Alpha, she wasn’t considered attractive. People used to tease her for looking more like an Omega because of her slender build.
But those thoughts were quickly interrupted.
Wen Mingzhi’s gaze flickered with an unreadable expression. “Is that so?”
Before Zhou Tian could answer, she raised her glass and said, “Cheers.”
With that, she drained her drink.
Zhou Tian hurried to catch up and downed hers as well.
When she looked back up, she saw Wen Mingzhi smiling at her. That stunning face blurred before her—so dazzling it made the whole world spin.
She’s really drunk now.
She even wants to lean in and take a bite…
Wen Mingzhi’s eyes glimmered with amusement. Under the shifting lights, she looked even more seductive.
Zhou Tian shook her head. What am I thinking? I just want her contact info!
But once desire sparked, it was hard to stop. Her mind filled with increasingly inappropriate thoughts.
Her cheeks flushed red, and she didn’t even realize something was off.
The sweet scent of cherry blossom pheromones began to leak into the air, mingling with the aroma of smoke and sake.
Zhou Tian couldn’t help but look at Wen Mingzhi again.
Her gaze landed first on that delicate white chin, then drifted upward—onto the glistening red lips. Maybe from the alcohol, they looked extra glossy.
Unconsciously, Zhou Tian began leaning closer.
“Hmm? Are you drunk?” Wen Mingzhi asked, putting down her glass.
“…Yeah…” Zhou Tian nodded, swaying slightly. But despite being drunk, she hadn’t forgotten what was important. In fact, the alcohol gave her courage.
“I… can I ask for your contact info?” she stammered.
The response was a breathtakingly beautiful smile and a laugh that sounded as sweet as a song.
“Let’s go. Looks like you’re not that drunk,” Wen Mingzhi said as she picked up her purse.
Zhou Tian wobbled to her feet and followed.
“We’re heading out. You guys have fun,” Wen Mingzhi called as she walked after Zhou Tian.
But the girl in front was swaying so much she looked like she was walking in S-curves. Wen Mingzhi had no choice but to reach out and steady her.
“Can you get home by yourself?” she asked softly.
Zhou Tian’s round eyes were glazed over with drunkenness.
Wen Mingzhi tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and sighed.
At that moment, when Zhou Tian leaned in, her brain seemed to explode with fireworks. She was so close, she could feel Wen Mingzhi’s breath on her skin, hot and intimate.
More than that, a pleasant scent filled her nose.
The fragrance got stronger the closer she got—like fine wine, intoxicating. It lured her in, stirred her heart.
Zhou Tian swallowed hard.
As Wen Mingzhi’s lips moved, Zhou Tian didn’t even hear what she said. Her eyes were locked on that soft, flawless neck.
It smells so good. So good…
The closer she leaned, the more intense the scent became.
Finally, driven by instinct, Zhou Tian leaned in and pressed her lips to that pale, exposed skin.
Wen Mingzhi, who had just been wondering how to send her home, froze.
She had already noticed the Alpha’s pheromones in the air… and her own body was heating up too.
The heat of Zhou Tian’s breath brushed against her neck. Who would’ve thought that this innocent Alpha could be so bold?
Wen Mingzhi raised a hand to push the fuzzy head off her shoulder—but the hot cheek nuzzled her hand instead, clinging to it.
She quickly pulled her hand back.
Her half-lowered eyes flickered with thought.
Then, softly, she asked—
“So, little sister, want to come home with me?”
