Chapter 3: Wasn’t She Someone You Guys Arranged?
Zhou Tian didn’t respond. Drunk, she couldn’t quite make out what the other person was saying. She simply nodded dazedly as she watched those bright red lips part.
“In that case, I’ll take it as your consent,” Wen Mingzhi said with a soft laugh, a flicker of pity flashing through her almond-shaped eyes.
Then, Wen Mingzhi wrapped her arm around Zhou Tian and led her straight out of the bar.
At the entrance, a sleek black Maybach was parked. A sharply dressed Omega with a cropped haircut stepped out and deftly opened the rear door. Her eyes lingered unusually long on her own boss.
“President Wen.” It was the first time she had seen her boss leave a bar while supporting someone. Chen, the assistant, couldn’t help but wonder where their destination was tonight.
“Xiao Chen, to Cuiyu Courtyard,” Wen Mingzhi said as she helped Zhou Tian into the car.
The ride to Cuiyu Courtyard took only about twenty minutes. Wen Mingzhi gazed out of the window. The mischievous glint that usually played in her eyes had faded, replaced by a deep calm.
The bar belonged to a friend, and there were more than enough premium private rooms available. Countless luxury hotels could’ve easily offered more privacy. She wasn’t even sure why she had brought this person back. Things had drifted from her original plan.
But perhaps… this was better. More private. And besides…
Wen Mingzhi glanced at the intoxicated Zhou Tian next to her.
She’s quite obedient, isn’t she?
The scent of pheromones inside the car grew thicker. Even in her drunken stupor, Zhou Tian instinctively leaned toward Wen Mingzhi. Her baseball cap had already fallen onto the seat, and her fluffy head rested against Wen Mingzhi’s arm. Her half-lidded peach blossom eyes were hazy and dreamy.
Wen Mingzhi’s face flushed as her own pheromones began to spread into the air. She held herself back from pouncing on the little Alpha but found herself involuntarily leaning in closer.
She swallowed, maintaining a calm appearance, but her hand gently rested on Zhou Tian’s head, stroking her hair slowly, over and over.
The air was thick with a tension that couldn’t be dispelled.
Looking into the rearview mirror, Assistant Chen had naturally noticed the swirling pheromones inside the car. But judging by President Wen’s demeanor, she clearly didn’t plan to use a pheromone suppressant. So Chen wisely kept her mouth shut.
The driver, also catching on, sped up. Soon, they arrived at Cuiyu Courtyard. Assistant Chen got out quickly and opened the door for Wen Mingzhi.
The rich scent of pheromones was intoxicating. When Wen Mingzhi opened her eyes, the cool restraint in her gaze was long gone.
It had been a long time since she’d encountered such a rich Alpha scent. The cherry blossom aroma was so sweet, so fragrant, so tantalizing.
The moment they got inside, Wen Mingzhi took Zhou Tian directly to the master bedroom on the third floor.
Warm yellow light flooded the room. Zhou Tian half-opened her eyes, her senses dulled by alcohol, and she couldn’t tell whether she was in a dream or reality.
She had taken a car home, hadn’t she? This must be a dream.
Wait, how did her goddess end up in her dream too?
In the dizzying haze, Wen Mingzhi’s stunning features came into view — her cold, noble aura, her faint fragrance…
Zhou Tian unconsciously reached out and touched her silky arm.
Wen Mingzhi pushed her down onto the bed.
Sure, it made sense that this little Alpha was pure and probably in her heat period, but wasn’t she a little too clingy? Zhou Tian had been stuck to her the entire ride, even touching her randomly… Wen Mingzhi had nearly lost control.
She looked down at Zhou Tian, lying flat on the bed.
Under the warm light, Zhou Tian’s hair fanned out around her head. Her blushing cheeks added to the sensual atmosphere. The alluring scent of cherry blossom pheromones filled the air, overwhelming even the smell of cigarettes and sake.
It felt like every molecule in the room was teasing her. Wen Mingzhi could clearly sense the violet pheromone — her own — floating in the air. Her body temperature was rising.
She touched her cheek. It was burning.
At this point, there was no need to pretend to be a gentleman.
“Sister…?” Zhou Tian called out dreamily from the bed, her eyes misty and dazed, filled with longing.
Wen Mingzhi chose to follow her desire.
She slowly slipped off her shoulder strap. The black dress slid down, and she leaned in.
The scents of cherry blossom and violet pheromones mingled, fusing with the heat in the air. Soft moans soon filled the room.
“Yes… good girl… be gentle, don’t bite so hard,” Wen Mingzhi whispered, gently running her warm palm through Zhou Tian’s fluffy hair.
The night deepened, the moonlight glowed softly, illuminating the clothes scattered messily on the floor.
Since it had gone this far, they might as well enjoy it fully. Wen Mingzhi left kiss after kiss on Zhou Tian’s pale skin — some tender, some with a teasing bite…
“…”
The next morning, Wen Mingzhi’s internal clock woke her early. After washing up and getting dressed, she stood at the end of the bed, arms crossed, looking at Zhou Tian sleeping sweetly.
Her eyes lingered in thought for a moment. Then, she pulled a business card from her purse and placed it on the bedside table.
She did beg me for my contact info, after all.
Then, Wen Mingzhi left the house.
“…”
It wasn’t until the sun was high in the sky that Zhou Tian finally woke. The moment she opened her eyes, she was startled. Where was she? Why was she in this unfamiliar room?
She rubbed her eyes and shook her head. A ridiculous rush of memories came flooding back.
She lifted the blanket and stared in disbelief at her own body. The marks and the soreness confirmed that the memories in her mind were real.
She really had been with her goddess last night? That wasn’t a dream?
She swallowed, her cheeks flushing bright red.
She had only wanted to ask for her goddess’s contact info — how did it end up like this? And worse… it seemed like she was the one who had been all over Wen Mingzhi.
Zhou Tian sat at the head of the bed, stunned for a long while.
Finally, she got up and quickly dressed in the clean outfit neatly folded at the foot of the bed.
Wen Mingzhi must’ve prepared these. So thoughtful…
But… where was the goddess now?
After tidying up, Zhou Tian scanned the room. It was simply and warmly decorated. Her eyes landed on a card on the bedside table. She picked it up and looked.
Wen Mingzhi – Current CEO of Qisheng Group.
Qisheng’s current CEO?!
Her goddess was Qisheng’s current CEO?
Now that she thought about it, the woman had introduced herself last night as Wen Mingzhi.
But that was the Qisheng — one of the top companies in A City!
Zhou Tian’s brow furrowed instinctively. No wonder the name sounded familiar — Wen Mingzhi was often mentioned in news headlines.
She was someone completely out of reach. Zhou Tian had dared to dream she could be with her?
She stood frozen, her expression tight. Her usually curved peach blossom eyes were filled with sadness.
Suddenly remembering something, Zhou Tian pulled at her clothes and checked the labels. As expected — CQ brand. High-end luxury.
She had only ever worn this kind of clothing when attending grand events, and even then, only because her manager, Sister Xia, had borrowed them with great effort.
On a normal day, there was no way she could afford clothes like these.
Zhou Tian had just undone one button on the shirt when her hand froze.
Her long lashes drooped, covering her eyes, but the crease in her brow remained, full of sorrow.
She really, really liked Wen Mingzhi. Her goddess was so kind…
Lost in thought, Zhou Tian walked out of the room. The entire house was tastefully decorated — minimal, yet exuding wealth.
The more she looked, the heavier her heart felt. Her hands clenched at her sides, leaving deep crescent marks in her palms.
“You’re awake, miss? Are you hungry?” Auntie Li asked as she brought out the food. “President Wen gave special instructions this morning. Do the clothes fit? Would you like another set?”
Faced with Auntie Li’s warm hospitality, Zhou Tian couldn’t help but smile faintly. A touch of joy lit up her brows. So Wen Mingzhi did care about her.
“They fit. No need to change… Thank you. Can I start eating then?”
It was already past 1 p.m. And the smell of food only made her hungrier.
Zhou Tian sat down at the dining table without hesitation.
“…”
Elsewhere, high up in Qisheng’s top-floor office, Wen Mingzhi sat on the couch sipping coffee.
“What are you doing here?” she asked bluntly.
Across from her was her friend from last night’s drinking session — an Omega with stylish short hair named Fei Xing’en.
“Can’t I drop by?” Fei Xing’en smiled. “Come on, Mingzhi, you really ditch your friends once you get an Alpha, huh?”
Wen Mingzhi’s lips curled into a smile. “If that’s how you want to think, I can’t stop you,” she said lightly.
“Alright, alright, I’ll stop teasing,” Fei Xing’en said, sipping her coffee. “I just came by to check on you. So? How was your night with that Alpha?” she asked with obvious mischief.
“Nothing happened,” Wen Mingzhi replied coolly, though a warm flicker flashed in her eyes.
“…Really?” Fei Xing’en raised an eyebrow. “Then you might want to cover the hickey on your neck before saying that.”
Wen Mingzhi froze. She had unbuttoned her collar earlier because she felt hot and had forgotten about that.
She quickly reached up to button her shirt.
“Ahem… just pretend you didn’t see anything, and don’t tell anyone,” she said, her gaze evasive. If her gossipy friends found out, the entire city would know.
Before Fei Xing’en could respond, Wen Mingzhi added, “One month free at Xing Yue Zhai.”
“Deal,” Fei Xing’en said cheerfully.
Then she grinned, “So who is that Alpha anyway? Must be something special to catch your eye.”
Hearing that, Wen Mingzhi frowned. “You don’t know who she is?”
“Nope. Why?”
“She wasn’t someone you guys arranged?”
In that instant, the light humor vanished from Wen Mingzhi’s eyes.
Her friends often teased her about being single for so long. They kept insisting on introducing her to Alphas to at least try something out… Last night, they had agreed to hang out at the bar, but instead of staying in a private booth, they insisted on mingling out in the lounge area.
Then Zhou Tian had appeared — at just the right time, in just the right place — so naturally, she had assumed the girl had been arranged by them.
“She wasn’t,” Fei Xing’en said. “We were planning to introduce someone, but it just so happened that she appeared…?” She trailed off, finally realizing something was wrong.
Wen Mingzhi’s voice turned cold. “Then where is that Alpha now?”
Her almond eyes lowered, lips tightly pressed. The usual warmth in her expression vanished completely. A chilling aura emanated from her, as cold as a wintry gale.
