Chapter 5: You Dare Touch Someone Who Belongs to Wen Mingzhi?
“What’s the situation now?” Fei Xing’en asked as soon as the call connected.
“The little alpha is about to be taken away,” Xu Baiqiu replied calmly.
“Still no answer from Mingzhi?” Fei Xing’en sighed helplessly.
“No way. That workaholic Mingzhi didn’t stay late at the office today?”
“Who knows? Maybe she’s been tired lately and went to bed early. She does have the sleeping habits of a grandma,” Fei Xing’en guessed, her voice tinged with teasing amusement.
“So what now? Should we get involved in this or not?” Xu Baiqiu frowned. She only wanted to gossip, not get dragged into trouble.
There was silence on the other end. After a long pause, Fei Xing’en finally said, “Mingzhi finally got close to an alpha. If something happens to her right under our noses, how would that look?”
“What if Mingzhi gets heartbroken because of this little alpha?” she added playfully.
“True,” Xu Baiqiu sighed. “Fine, let’s help her out.”
“This is a rare chance to make Mingzhi owe us a favor,” Fei Xing’en said with a mischievous laugh.
“We better milk it hard then,” Xu Baiqiu chuckled too.
“…”
Back in the private room, Director Cheng and her party were still aggressively making Zhou Tian and Xia Ruo drink. Most of the alcohol was being taken by Xia Ruo.
Seeing how well they could hold their liquor—especially Xia Ruo—Cheng gave a signal to her people.
Moments later, both Zhou Tian and Xia Ruo slumped over the table, clearly drunk.
Cheng’s grinning expression faded slightly. “Didn’t expect this alpha to drink so much!” She got up, walked over to Zhou Tian, and patted her head with a creepy smile. “Alright, take her away.”
“…”
Meanwhile, Fei Xing’en finally got through to Wen Mingzhi.
At that moment, Wen Mingzhi had just come out of the bathroom. Her phone had been ringing nonstop, and she quickly walked over to the coffee table and answered.
“What is it?” she asked calmly, sipping some spring water.
She already knew about Zhou Tian’s situation—her assistant had informed her.
“Mingzhi, finally! Your little alpha is in danger!” Fei Xing’en exclaimed anxiously.
“What?” Wen Mingzhi’s brows tightened.
“Xu Baiqiu saw her in her restaurant. They’re trying to get her drunk and take her away!”
Wen Mingzhi put down her water. “And?”
“I don’t know! You wouldn’t believe it—there were a bunch of Omegas surrounding her, forcing drinks and groping her. They were just about to take her! Xu Baiqiu’s not one to meddle, but she just happened to see it,” Fei Xing’en exaggerated dramatically.
“In her own restaurant and she’s not stopping it?” Wen Mingzhi’s frown deepened.
She was clearly worried now. Fei Xing’en covered her mouth to hide a laugh before saying casually, “You know how Baiqiu is.”
“Fei Xing’en.” Wen Mingzhi’s tone dropped three degrees colder.
“Alright, alright, don’t panic. I already told Xu Baiqiu. She’s helping now,” Fei Xing’en assured her.
Wen Mingzhi paused in thought, not immediately responding.
“Do you want us to send her to you afterward?” Fei Xing’en teased again.
Looked like Mingzhi really liked this little alpha.
“…No. Just make sure she’s safe,” Wen Mingzhi said softly.
“Alright.” Fei Xing’en sounded slightly disappointed.
“Don’t worry. Your girl—we’ll take good care of her!” she said, laughing again.
Wen Mingzhi shook her head with a helpless smile. This woman never changed.
From the report Chen the assistant gave her earlier today, she had already guessed what kind of situation it might be.
Her usually relaxed phoenix-shaped eyes now glinted with a cold edge. She sat back on the sofa, sipping her spring water again. Her face remained calm, but her eyes swirled with thought.
“…”
At the upscale restaurant, Xu Baiqiu had called a few security guards to block Cheng and her people in the main hall.
“Move it! Don’t get in the way!” the fat alpha with a greasy face shouted, pushing a guard.
“Put her down,” Xu Baiqiu said calmly, gesturing. Two guards immediately stepped forward and completely blocked their path.
“Do you know who this is? This is Director Cheng Jibo from Xingming Entertainment!”
Xu Baiqiu raised an eyebrow and nodded. “Oh? Never heard of her.”
Then, with arms crossed, she pointed at the slumped Zhou Tian. “Do you know who she is?”
“She belongs to Wen Mingzhi of Qisheng Group. You dare lay a finger on her?” Her gaze was sharp and commanding.
Cheng Jibo’s smug smile froze on her face. Upon hearing the name “Wen Mingzhi,” she panicked, and the producers and directors around her exchanged nervous glances, suddenly deflated.
In City A, who didn’t know the legendary Wen Mingzhi?
“M-Misunderstanding… A total misunderstanding. So she’s with President Wen?” Cheng Jibo immediately bowed and smiled awkwardly. “We just saw Miss Zhou was drunk and wanted to take her home…”
“If she’s Wen’s girl… then… is President Wen here too?” After a moment, Cheng recovered and wasn’t entirely intimidated.
“Tsk…” Xu Baiqiu scratched her eyebrow. This one was a sly old fox.
Wen Mingzhi’s name didn’t completely scare her off.
Sometimes, they’d use Wen’s name to scare off people like this, especially since Qisheng was a nationally renowned company, and Wen Mingzhi was known for her beauty, talent, and upright character—beloved by the public. In City A, practically everyone knew her name.
“President Wen is too busy to come in person,” Xu Baiqiu said smoothly. “Why? You don’t believe me?”
“N-no, of course not. I wouldn’t dare. And may I ask who you are?” Cheng Jibo asked carefully, clearly probing.
“This is getting annoying…” Xu Baiqiu muttered, clearly impatient.
“Fine. Cheng Jibo, was it?” She waved her hand, and the guards stepped forward again.
“I’m Xu Baiqiu, the owner of this restaurant. Haven’t heard of me? Doesn’t matter. But you’re not taking her tonight.” She smiled confidently.
“In public like this, even if you’re the owner, you can’t abuse your power, right?” Cheng Jibo took a few steps back with her people. “Boss Xu, you shouldn’t go around using Wen Mingzhi’s name to scam people.”
Realizing he might’ve been tricked, Cheng Jibo quickly rebounded. This kind of bluff was amateur-level.
“Who said we’re scamming?” Fei Xing’en’s voice rang out as she arrived, panting slightly from hurrying over—no way was she missing such juicy drama.
“And you are?” Cheng Jibo clicked her tongue, unimpressed. This one was probably another con artist.
Fei Xing’en hesitated for a beat, then crossed her arms and declared, “You don’t need to know who I am—but you know Wen Mingzhi, right? I’m her friend!”
Xu Baiqiu facepalmed beside her.
“Hah! Another one? I’m Wen Mingzhi’s friend too!” Cheng Jibo laughed mockingly and stepped up to shove a guard—
“Really?” A cold, elegant voice suddenly cut through the room.
Wen Mingzhi stepped out of the elevator and walked forward unhurriedly.
