- Chapter 12 - The legendary love at first sight?
You have to know that their young master genuinely dislikes studying.
He consistently performs well on every exam, always coming in last.
Oh, there was one exception.
He bribed the second-to-last student to hand in a blank paper.
And so, he ended up coming in last.
But the CEO soon discovered this.
After a severe lecture, he finally gave up the idea of cheating.
But now, he’s actually turned in such a model-like assignment?
Is this some kind of freak show?
“What’s wrong with you?” Jian Xiaozhan asked, frowning as he watched Yu Xiu sink into self-doubt.
“Young Master, try these papers again!” Yu Xiu took a few more papers.
Jian Xiaozhan glanced at them; the questions were so simple they insulted his intelligence.
“If I finish these papers, can you give me a ride home?” Jian Xiaozhan thought for a moment before speaking.
“As long as you get them all right, I’ll take you wherever you tell me to!” Yu Xiu said firmly.
Upon hearing this, Jian Xiaozhan picked up his pen and began writing down his answers.
He was so fast, it seemed he didn’t even need to calculate, knowing the answers in a single glance.
Yu Xiu, watching from the side, was practically bugging out his eyes.
“I’m done.” Twenty minutes later, Jian Xiaozhan put down his pen.
Yu Xiu’s mouth was practically bulging.
With the sheer volume of questions on this test, his young master would have spent an entire night just drawing talismans.
And now he’d finished it in just twenty minutes?
And with full marks on all of them?!
Yu Xiu stared at Jian Xiaozhan for a long moment, then suddenly stood up and walked towards the door like a zombie.
“Where are you going? You promised me you’d take me home after I finished these papers,” Jian Xiaozhan called after him.
But Yu Xiu seemed to have heard nothing.
He went out and knocked on the study door.
“President, I suspect… the young master might really be ill,” Yu Xiu muttered, looking at Xi Peijue.
“He’s feigning illness again and doesn’t want to study?” Xi Peijue, who had originally had his back to the door, turned his chair around upon hearing this.
“No!” Yu Xiu shook his head and placed the test paper in front of Xi Peijue.
Xi Peijue took a look, his brows instantly furrowed.
“Why are you showing me this?”
“This was done by the young master!” Yu Xiu said firmly.
“What did you say? These were all done by Xiao Yan?” Xi Peijue’s tone also took on a crack.
“Yes, I saw the young master finish it with my own eyes!” Yu Xiu emphasized.
Xi Peijue’s expression immediately became complicated.
“President, could the young master be…sick?” Yu Xiu asked with a hint of concern.
After all, he had never seen someone go from a clueless student to a child prodigy overnight!
“Go call the young master over!” Xi Peijue said after a moment’s silence.
“Yes!” Yu Xiu immediately turned around and brought Jian Xiaozhan over.
“I told you all along, you’ve got the wrong guy,” Jian Xiaozhan said coldly, thinking they finally believed him.
“Roll up his sleeve!” But Xi Peijue ignored him and only instructed Yu Xiu.
Yu Xiu then stepped forward and rolled up Jian Xiaozhan’s right sleeve.
A semicircular birthmark suddenly caught everyone’s eye.
Yu Xiu’s suspicions vanished instantly upon seeing the birthmark.
This was his young master!
The real thing!
“Young master, your acting has really improved. You almost fooled me.”
“But last time you at least remembered to cover it with foundation. This time you’re just so careless! A thousand mistakes can lead to mistakes!”
Jian Xiaozhan frowned at this.
Could it be that the little fool also had a birthmark on his arm?
The resemblance could be explained by probability, but if even the position and shape of the birthmark were identical, then that was a bit unusual.
Xi Peijue stared at the birthmark on Jian Xiaozhan’s arm, then glanced at the test paper in his hand, his brows furrowed.
“I told you, from today on, you must stay in Orange Garden. Even if you cheat, I won’t let you out!”
“I didn’t cheat!” Jian Xiaozhan frowned.
With questions this difficult, was cheating necessary?
He wasn’t an idiot.
“Take the young master back and have someone keep a close eye on him. If he sneaks out again, get out of Orange Garden!” Xi Peijue snapped.
“Yes!” Yu Xiu immediately carried Jian Xiaozhan away.
“I didn’t cheat, and I want to go home!” After emerging from the study, Jian Xiaozhan frowned at Yu Xiu.
“Young Master, the president is in a bad mood tonight, so don’t mess around.” Yu Xiu looked exhausted.
Jian Xiaozhan: “…”
He’s in a bad mood, what does it have to do with him?!
He still wants to go home!
But Yu Xiu just thought his young master was just throwing a tantrum and didn’t take his words to heart.
He carried him back to the children’s room. Meanwhile, Jian Muyu, after settling Jian Tiantian down, was about to head to the hospital. However, just as she reached the ward door, a small figure flew out.
Before Jian Muyu could grasp the situation, she was knocked back several steps. Finally stabilizing herself, she looked down to see the little person in her arms clutching their head, grimacing.
Apparently, they were also hurt. “Why aren’t you looking where you’re walking? You’re in my way!” The child looked up, and was met with an incredibly beautiful face. Her eyes, in particular, sparkled brighter than any of his gemstones.
Xiao Zhan was stunned, his heart pounding. Every inch of this young lady was his perfect match! Could this be the legendary… love at first sight?! “Miss Jian, you’re finally here!” At that moment, a voice echoed, as if seeing a savior. Jian Muyu looked up. It was the nurse caring for Jian Xiao Zhan, though she looked rather disheveled. The nurse’s uniform was wet by something, leaving a brown stain on her chest.
The nurse’s cap on her head was also crooked, with some messy hair on both sides.
It looked like she had just been through a melee.
And then Jian Muyu saw that the ward was also a mess.
In the room, the cabinets and beds were no longer in their original positions, and were placed in a mess.
Medicines and potion bottles were scattered all over the floor, and the bed sheets had been trampled into pieces.
“What… happened?” Jian Muyu asked in surprise.
