After The Divorce, My Dad Was Abused and Cried - Chapter 36
Jian Xiaozhan coldly withdrew his gaze and quietly stacked up the books that Liu Yinyin had just kicked over.
“Xiaoyan, didn’t I tell you not to make your little uncle angry? Why do you never listen to Mommy?!” Liu Yinyin’s tone carried obvious displeasure.
Hearing this woman’s questioning, Jian Xiaozhan’s brows furrowed even tighter.
“I’ve told you so many times—if you still want to stay in the Xi family, to stay by your little uncle’s side, then you must keep him happy.”
“You have to coax him into becoming your daddy! Only then can we mother and son stay in the Xi family forever.”
She didn’t notice Jian Xiaozhan’s abnormal expression, and simply repeated her words coldly.
But Jian Xiaozhan gave no response.
“I’m talking to you, did you hear me?” Liu Yinyin, dissatisfied with his attitude, reached out and jabbed his forehead.
She didn’t control her strength, and the boy’s small body tipped backward from the force.
Jian Xiaozhan’s frown deepened.
So this woman usually treated the little fool this roughly too?
“What are you glaring at me for? Are you refusing to listen to Mommy now?!” Liu Yinyin sensed something off in the child’s expression, but brushed it off, thinking he was just throwing a tantrum.
The next moment, however, Jian Xiaozhan’s words struck her like a bolt of lightning—her entire body froze on the spot.
Because Jian Xiaozhan said:
“You’re not my mommy.”
“What nonsense are you talking about? How could I not be your mommy?!” Liu Yinyin’s eyes flickered with panic as she snapped sharply.
“My mommy’s name is Jian Muyu.” Jian Xiaozhan dropped another bomb.
Liu Yinyin stumbled back several steps in fright, staring in disbelief at the boy sitting on the floor.
“Who told you that? Who told you?!” Her eyes reddened instantly as she lunged forward, seizing Jian Xiaozhan by the collar.
“Does anyone need to tell me that? I’ve known since the day I was born.”
Even with his collar being gripped so tightly he could hardly breathe, Jian Xiaozhan’s voice was unshakably firm.
“That’s impossible!” The last thread of Liu Yinyin’s sanity snapped at his words.
She shoved Jian Xiaozhan violently.
The difference in size between the two was too great—his small body was hurled several feet away.
His forehead slammed against the edge of a nearby bookshelf. The sharp pain made his face scrunch up.
Vaguely, he felt a warm liquid trickle down from the wound.
When he touched it, his fingers came away sticky.
Looking down, his fingertips were smeared red.
His forehead had split open.
A faint look of melancholy crossed his little face.
The doctor had warned him before—before the surgery, he must avoid getting hurt.
Otherwise, infection would be likely.
And yet, he had gotten hurt.
Thankfully, Mommy wasn’t here. Otherwise, she’d probably be crying again.
Seeing him bleeding, Liu Yinyin instinctively wanted to step forward.
Not because she cared about his injury—but because she feared she wouldn’t be able to explain it to Xi Peijue.
But someone else was faster.
The butler, worried about Jian Xiaozhan, had come upstairs to check.
Hearing the commotion, he pushed the door open.
And the sight that met him was Jian Xiaozhan’s little face smeared with bl00d.
The butler rushed forward at once, examining the wound anxiously.
“Young master, are you alright? How did you get hurt?!”
“She pushed me.” Jian Xiaozhan looked calmly at Liu Yinyin standing a short distance away.
The butler immediately lifted his head toward her.
Just then, Xi Peijue also came upstairs.
When his eyes landed on the injured Jian Xiaozhan, a murderous chill instantly surged in their depths.
Liu Yinyin panicked, glancing at Xi Peijue in a rush.
“Peijue, it’s not what you think—I… I didn’t mean to…”
But Xi Peijue had no intention of listening to her excuses. He went straight to Jian Xiaozhan’s side.
After carefully checking the boy’s wound and confirming it wasn’t too deep, he ordered the butler:
“Call the doctor.”
“Yes!” The butler immediately rose to make the call.
Though the young master was mischievous at times, the entire Xi household cherished him dearly.
The butler himself had watched him grow up, taking meticulous care in daily life.
Now that he was injured, his heart ached beyond words.
As he passed by Liu Yinyin, his face turned colder.
“Peijue, you have to believe me—how could I ever hurt Xiaoyan?”
“He’s my own son. I love him more than anyone else!” Liu Yinyin insisted desperately.
Xi Xiaoyan was her last remaining card to stay by Xi Peijue’s side.
She couldn’t lose him.
Xi Peijue’s brows knitted slightly. Whether he heard her or not was unclear, but the killing aura around him receded just a little.
Liu Yinyin’s heart steadied somewhat, and she was about to push further—
But Jian Xiaozhan spoke again.
“Just now she told me I had to keep you happy. That I had to coax you into becoming my daddy.”
The moment his words fell, Liu Yinyin’s face turned deathly pale, her body swaying unsteadily.
She shot him a furious glare.
Why was this little brat being so disobedient today?!
Standing to the side, Yu Xiu frowned deeply.
So this was how Miss Liu usually taught the young master?
Xi Peijue’s anger, which had just begun to settle, now erupted once more—tenfold.
Liu Yinyin’s chest tightened in fear.
“Peijue, I… I didn’t mean anything else, I just—” She tried to explain, her voice trembling.
But Xi Peijue’s patience had already run out.
Without looking back, he gave Yu Xiu a command:
“See Miss Liu out.”
“Yes, sir.” Yu Xiu answered crisply, striding over to block her path.
“Miss Liu, this way, please.”
“Peijue…” Liu Yinyin still didn’t want to leave, trying to move forward.
But Yu Xiu stood like a mountain, blocking her firmly.
“President, the doctor has arrived.” At that moment, the butler returned.
Xi Peijue gave a short reply, lifted Jian Xiaozhan into his arms, and walked past Liu Yinyin with a cold face.
“Peijue…” Liu Yinyin tried to chase after him, but Yu Xiu’s tall figure loomed like an immovable wall, barring her way.
“Miss Liu, you know the president’s temper. Before he truly loses it, you’d better leave quickly.” Yu Xiu’s voice was calm.
Biting her teeth hard, Liu Yinyin glared at him, her eyes blazing with fury.
But Yu Xiu didn’t care in the least. He even gave her a polite smile.
Then, with another gesture, he invited her to leave.
