- Chapter 20 - Ugh, No Way. I’m Not Saying It First!
Qin Yiwan held Luo Yunye’s hand as they walked out of the office, both of them glowing with joy. Their eyes never left each other, completely ignoring the stares around them.
The secretarial team gawked. Seeing their usually composed President Qin walk out hand-in-hand with an unfamiliar Alpha, they craned their necks to get a better look.
“Who is that? She’s gorgeous! How have we never seen her before?”
“No idea. We always knew our young President Qin was popular, but when did she get a girlfriend? Judging by how into each other they are, this must’ve been going on for a while.”
One of them, without saying a word, quietly snapped a photo of the two holding hands and sent it to their private chat group.
“Breaking news! President Qin has a girlfriend! And she’s a ridiculously good-looking Alpha!”
Qin Yiwan clearly didn’t care if anyone saw them together. She held Luo Yunye’s hand openly, whispering sweet nothings, eyes full of affection—like a girl head over heels in love.
Seeing her so happy, Luo Yunye couldn’t help but smile too.
When they reached the elevator, Luo Yunye instinctively went to press the button for Qin Yiwan’s private lift. But Qin Yiwan tugged her back. “Let’s take the staff elevator.”
Luo Yunye gently pinched her cheek, leaned in close, and chuckled by her ear, “Are you trying to make absolutely sure the entire company knows you’re taken?”
“Exactly. I want everyone to know—you’re my wife.”
Qin Yiwan clung to her arm and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.
Right then, the elevator doors opened. Inside, a crowd of employees froze at the sight of their president and an unknown woman being so close. Everyone silently wished they could go blind on the spot, desperately hoping the doors would shut quickly to avoid any awkwardness.
But Qin Yiwan stepped right in, turned to Luo Yunye, and playfully said, “Come on! Doors are closing!”
Luo Yunye smiled, reaching out to take her hand. The two stood front and center, fingers interlocked, occasionally squeezing each other’s hand like a silent game.
The rest of the elevator passengers discreetly pulled out their phones and began typing furiously.
“President Qin brought her girlfriend to work today. Both of them are insanely attractive—such a perfect match!”
“OMG, President Qin has a girlfriend! And the way they act together… it’s pure sugar! I’ve never wanted the elevator to go slower before.”
“It’s official: President Qin has a girlfriend…”
Word of “President Qin’s girlfriend” spread through the company like wildfire.
Later, while the two were having lunch, Qin Rushuang’s name popped up on Qin Yiwan’s phone screen.
Seeing the repeated call attempts, Qin Yiwan hesitated for a moment, then rejected the call outright.
The phone buzzed again almost immediately.
Noticing her hesitation, Luo Yunye picked up a piece of sweet and sour rib and placed it on her plate. “Just answer it. Maybe it’s something important?”
“What could possibly be important?” Qin Yiwan replied flatly. “She’s probably just going to scold me for being all lovey-dovey with you at the office.”
With that, she turned the phone off entirely.
Ever since learning about her alternate personalities, those things just didn’t matter anymore.
Her time—this version of her—was limited. So she wanted to use it doing what she loved: eating with Luo Yunye, watching movies together, and experiencing everything they hadn’t done yet. That way, even if she didn’t show up again, at least Luo Yunye would have memories to hold onto.
Luo Yunye didn’t press the issue. She simply picked out all the dishes Qin Yiwan liked.
Over time, she had come to notice the differences between Qin Yiwan and her other personalities. Aside from their temperaments—one bright and lively, the other cold and distant—their tastes were different too.
Qin Yiwan preferred light flavors and didn’t care for sweets. But her A’Wan? She loved strong flavors—sweet, sour, and spicy—and had a serious weakness for desserts.
Whenever they passed a pastry shop, Qin Yiwan would pull Luo Yunye inside to buy something. And whenever she took that first bite of a sugary treat, her eyes would crinkle into little crescents, sparkling with visible joy.
Luo Yunye hadn’t been into sweets before, but now she found herself enjoying them too—because she got to share them with A’Wan and share her happiness.
On the way to the cinema, they passed a dessert shop. Qin Yiwan dragged her in and bought a slice of tiramisu. Scooping up a spoonful, she held it up to Luo Yunye’s mouth. “Try it—this place is pretty good.”
Luo Yunye took the bite, but a dab of cream stuck to the corner of her mouth. She instinctively reached into her bag to find a napkin.
“Don’t move.”
Qin Yiwan suddenly grabbed her hand, stopping her.
Luo Yunye froze, unsure what was happening.
Then Qin Yiwan yanked gently on her collar, pulled her down, and on tiptoes—licked the cream off her lips with the tip of her tongue.
Luo Yunye’s eyes widened in shock. Goosebumps shot across her skin. Her whole body felt like it was on fire.
Before she could even react, Qin Yiwan had already let her go, casually licking her lips like she’d just tasted something delicious. Her eyes twinkled with mischief. Seeing Luo Yunye frozen in place, she raised an eyebrow. “Seriously? That didn’t even get a reaction?”
No Alpha could handle being teased like that by someone they liked—especially not one as intense as Luo Yunye. Resisting instinct was already hard enough. And this bold little Omega wasn’t done yet—she poked Luo Yunye’s shoulder with a dainty finger, pouting.
“Are you even capable of reacting, or what?”
Every nerve in Luo Yunye’s body screamed at her to kiss her now. Her breathing grew heavy. She grabbed Qin Yiwan’s hand and quickly scanned the area for a quiet spot.
Seeing her suddenly so tense and serious, Qin Yiwan panicked. She thought something had happened. “Wait—what’s wrong? I was just joking! Yunye, don’t take it seriously!”
But Luo Yunye didn’t hear a word. All she could think about was kissing her senseless.
She led Qin Yiwan into a stairwell. Before the Omega could even finish asking, “Why are we here—” Luo Yunye had already pushed her against the wall and kissed her hard.
“Mmm—”
The kiss was so sudden that Qin Yiwan flinched, momentarily stunned. Her tiramisu fell to the floor.
She tried to gasp for air, but that just let Luo Yunye deepen the kiss. She didn’t even have time to think—she just felt her lungs were empty and her head was spinning.
When they finally came up for air, foreheads resting together, Qin Yiwan was breathless and flushed, with her arms wrapped around Luo Yunye’s neck. Her face glowed with a dazed, satisfied look.
Unable to resist, Luo Yunye kissed her again—this time slow and gentle, savoring the lingering sweetness of cream on her lips.
By the time they pulled apart again, both of them were breathing heavily. Qin Yiwan’s legs felt weak, and she leaned against Luo Yunye for support.
“…Has the movie already started?” she asked, eyes dreamy.
“Probably,” Luo Yunye replied, fixing her hair and smoothing her clothes. “Come on, let’s go watch it.”
“It already started. What’s the point?”
Qin Yiwan pouted, clearly annoyed she had to spell it out.
Did she really have to be the one to say it?
She was an Omega, after all!
Ugh! No way—she was way too embarrassed to say it first.
