After the Divorce, the Heiress Omega Regretted It - Chapter 24
Luo Yunye’s palm was warm as she gently stroked Qin Yiwan’s cheek. Yiwan stared blankly at her, a wave of goosebumps rising across her skin. When she snapped out of it, she instinctively turned her head to avoid the touch, but the spot where Luo Yunye had caressed still burned red and hot.
Once again, she had found herself moved by this virtual alpha.
It felt like a conscious descent—knowing full well that none of this was real, and yet still craving her care, the warmth she offered.
Part of her found it pitiful, and part of her was relieved. At least this was a dream. Here, she didn’t have to reject Luo Yunye so firmly. After all, she’d forget everything once she woke up. Why not treat it like one last wild celebration at the end of the world—a brief release from her tightly controlled self?
Suddenly, Qin Yiwan reached out and held Luo Yunye’s hand, looking into her eyes.
“Spend the day with me,” she said.
“Sure,” Luo Yunye replied easily, smiling. “Where would you like to go, Jie? ”
Back when she dated Luo Yunyi, their outings usually revolved around dinners and movies. But even then, she would constantly be answering calls and dealing with work. She had never once enjoyed an uninterrupted meal with her. Never finished a single movie. Never had a proper date.
So… besides dinner and a movie, what else do people do on dates?
Qin Yiwan, a woman who could negotiate billion-dollar contracts at work, found herself stumped. After a long moment, she asked carefully, “What’s your idea of a date?”
Luo Yunye dabbed at the corner of her mouth with a napkin and looked at her with a hint of a smile.
“Would jie agree to whatever kind of date I want?”
Yiwan found that direct gaze hard to bear, but she couldn’t lose face in front of a virtual companion who was younger than her. Holding her expression steady, she replied coolly, “I’ll consider it.”
“Then let’s go chase the sunset.”
With that, Luo Yunye stood and pulled her to her feet, leading her down the stairs. She flagged down a cab, opened the door for her, and gently ushered her in. Sitting in the front seat, she instructed the driver, “Just keep following this road.”
It was 12:30 p.m.—the sun hung high in the sky. They had a few hours until sunset.
Luo Yunye took her to a mall, and as they passed a flower shop, she dashed inside and returned with a bouquet of pink-to-purple gradient roses. She handed them to Qin Yiwan.
Everyone else who had ever confessed to her had given her red roses. This was the first time she’d received flowers like these. They looked so dreamy—just like the dream they were in. It really was something magical.
As they strolled side by side, Luo Yunye suddenly leaned in and whispered in her ear,
“Do you know what this rose means? ”
Yiwan shook her head, inhaling the flower’s sweet, ethereal scent.
“It symbolizes a love that never dies.”
“Hmm?”
She turned to look at Luo Yunye, who smiled and repeated softly,
“A love that never fades, not even in death.”
The bustling crowd around them was nothing but illusions, yet the person before her felt vivid, imprinted into her heart.
Qin Yiwan’s pulse raced. She had never felt this way for anyone before. For the first time, she found herself wishing, —If only I could meet her in the real world.
“Let’s go watch a movie,” Luo Yunye said, still holding her hand, dragging her along without a care for onlookers.
Yiwan felt a bit awkward at first, but then she remembered—this was a dream. No one would notice. No one would recognize her. The only one that mattered now was this girl in front of her.
She looked at Luo Yunye, catching the fragrance from her long hair and the smile in her eyes when she glanced back. Even the stars couldn’t compare to the brilliance in those eyes.
At the theater, Luo Yunye joined the line with her and slipped in effortlessly, as though this dream world bent to their every wish—no tickets needed, just do what you want.
They chose seats near the back where it was quieter. As the lights dimmed and the movie began, Luo Yunye leaned over and asked, “Do you know what movie this is?”
Yiwan shook her head.
“I don’t either,” Luo Yunye said. “As long as it’s not a horror film.”
Just as the words left her mouth, a ghostly woman with wild hair suddenly appeared on screen, screaming and struggling to break through.
Luo Yunye shrieked in fright.
Before she could wake up from fear, Qin Yiwan pulled her into an embrace. Above her, a playful voice chuckled,
“You’re scared of ghosts?”
“Just a little.”
Luo Yunye clung to her shoulder, holding her tightly.
She wasn’t that afraid—just caught off guard. But Qin Yiwan wasn’t scared at all, just smiling at her. If that could make a beauty smile, then maybe it was worth it.
“Let’s go. We’ll watch something else.”
Yiwan led her out. This time, they picked carefully and chose a coming-of-age film about a girl who overcame a tragic childhood to earn her own happiness and family.
One scene showed the girl being locked in a pitch-black room by her mother as punishment. No matter how she cried or screamed, no one came. In the darkness, she imagined monsters coming to devour her. She was terrified.
Luo Yunye glanced over and saw Qin Yiwan staring at the screen, fingers clenched, lightly trembling.
She reached over and gently pried open Yiwan’s hand, placing a small candy in her palm.
“It’s sweet.”
“My mom did that to me too,” Qin Yiwan said softly, tucking her hair behind her ear to hide her emotion.
Luo Yunye unwrapped the candy and cupped her face.
“Open your mouth.”
Yiwan obeyed without thinking, letting the candy drop onto her tongue. It had been so long since she’d tasted sweetness.
Growing up, Qin Rushuang had forbidden her from eating candy—said it ruined teeth. She had obeyed, even when she craved it, and later, she just forgot how to want it at all.
“I think it’s strawberry,” Luo Yunye said with a smile.
Qin Yiwan looked at her, and suddenly all those dark memories and regrets seemed to melt away. On screen, the girl broke free from the darkness and stepped into the light.
Luo Yunye tightened her grip.
“From now on, I’ll be here. No more dark days.”
Tears shimmered in Yiwan’s eyes. She couldn’t look at Luo Yunye and only murmured a soft “Okay.”
After the movie, Luo Yunye asked, “Is there anything you’ve always wanted to do but never tried?”
Qin Yiwan thought for a moment. There wasn’t much she had longed to do… except for one thing she’d always been curious about.
“The arcade.”
So they went. Starting with claw machines, they played every game in the place.
When they danced on the rhythm game platform, they drew cheers from a crowd. But they only had eyes for each other. After dancing their hearts out, they laughed and headed off to a karaoke room.
In the tiny booth, squished together, Luo Yunye picked a romantic duet. Her voice was beautiful—rich with emotion.
Yiwan was shy at first, but Luo Yunye encouraged her until she began to sing freely.
They missed notes and laughed without care. It felt like being eighteen again—sunny and full of life.
By the time they left the arcade, the sun was setting.
Luo Yunye grabbed her hand and hailed another cab, telling the driver to take them to a nearby mountain.
They chased the sunset all the way to the top. The golden glow bathed the city, and the clouds blushed like a lover’s flushed cheeks.
Luo Yunye held her hand and shouted toward the city,
“Qin Yiwan, I love you! A’wan, I love you—did you hear me?!”
Qin Yiwan looked at her radiant smile under the sunset, stunned. Before meeting Luo Yunye, she never thought an alpha could be so beautiful, so enchanting.
She wanted to say it too:
Luo Yunye, I love you.
But a dream this vivid was destined to end in regret. Whether the virtual Luo Yunye knew her feelings or not—did it even matter?
Luo Yunye was flying high with joy, like a bird set free. She brushed her hair behind her ear and turned to her.
“Jie, don’t you have anything to say to me?”
“Thank you,” Qin Yiwan said, stepping forward and wrapping her in a hug. She smiled through tear-bright eyes, ready to end this perfect day.
“Let’s… end it here.”
Then she took a step back. And another.
The wind tugged at her hair as she stepped away, that smiling, tearful gaze making Luo Yunye’s heart clench. She reached out—only to see Yiwan turn and leap off the cliff.
Without hesitation, Luo Yunye jumped after her, catching her midair.
Yiwan stared at her in shock, but Luo Yunye just smiled and wiped the tears from her cheek.
“Trying to ditch me that easily, jie? Not happening.”
They tumbled down together, but since it was a dream, it didn’t hurt—it just sent their hearts racing. In the dark forest, Luo Yunye hovered over her, arms braced on either side.
“Are you hurt anywhere?”
“Yeah,” Yiwan said softly, her eyes full of emotion. “Come closer. I’ll tell you.”
Luo Yunye leaned down. And then—warm lips pressed against hers.
She had kissed A’wan before—she knew exactly what those lips felt like. Bl00d rushed to her head like fireworks exploding in her mind.
Qin Yiwan had never kissed anyone. Even in a dream, the boldness of it made her shy. When Luo Yunye didn’t respond, she pulled back, turning her head away in embarrassment. Thank god it was dark—she was blushing like mad.
Then Luo Yunye seemed to snap out of it. Her breath quickened as she leaned in, nuzzling her cheek.
“Why’d you kiss me all of a sudden?”
Her voice and breath were both tinged with flirtation. Yiwan squirmed and pushed her gently.
“I hit my head. It was a mistake. Just pretend it didn’t happen.”
A low chuckle by her ear. Then a flurry of soft kisses rained down on her cheek like pecks from a baby bird.
“Not fair to say that, Jie.”
Yiwan tried to dodge, turning her head and pushing with more force—but her palm met soft skin.
Another teasing laugh. Yiwan recoiled as if shocked, wishing she could disappear. More than anything, she just wanted to wake up now. Right now.
“Jie…”
Luo Yunye suddenly pinned her hands above her head and kissed her deeply. Yiwan turned her head, trying to escape, but Luo Yunye only kissed her more fiercely.
“Don’t push me away,” she murmured.
Yiwan’s heart felt like it might burst.
She was losing herself completely.
