After the Divorce, the Heiress Omega Regretted It - Chapter 30
Luo Yunye realized something: when you lower your expectations of someone, it stops hurting so much.
Before, when Qin Yiwan scolded her, slapped her, or locked her out of the hospital room, it would break her heart. The pain would linger, refusing to go away.
But now, she had learned to accept it.
To accept that this Qin Yiwan wasn’t the same one she’d met in her dreams. She didn’t remember her—much less love her.
That was okay. Luo Yunye could keep getting closer and keep loving her. Whether Qin Yiwan accepted that love or not, it didn’t matter. She didn’t expect anything in return.
On the drive home, both Qin Rushuang and Du Weimin were already at the office. Only Grandma Qin was at home.
When Luo Yunye walked in, she saw Luo Yunyi sitting beside Qin Yiwan, chatting with Grandma. The moment Luo Yunyi noticed her, she stood and smiled. “Oh, Yunye, you’re back? I went to the hospital to pick up Yiwan earlier but didn’t see you—I thought you’d already left.”
She went to pick Yiwan up… and Yiwan came home alone?
Luo Yunye couldn’t be bothered to reply. She walked over to greet Grandma Qin, then glanced at Yiwan. “I’m glad to see you’re okay. I’ll be heading to work now.”
She looked back at Grandma. “Grandma, I’m heading out.”
“But didn’t you take the day off?”Grandma glanced at her, then looked at Qin Yiwan. “Yiwan just got discharged today. Why don’t you stay home and keep her company?”
Before Luo Yunye could respond, Yiwan cut in coldly, “Grandma, I’m going to work too.”
“So soon after being discharged? Your body hasn’t fully recovered yet.”
“It’s fine. Staying home would just be boring.”
“Well, alright then—just take it easy; don’t overdo it.”
Luo Yunye listened to their exchange, then left the house.
At the office, the moment she stepped in, she noticed something was off. Zhang Tingting looked at her nervously, and the other coworkers all gave her looks—some sympathetic, others awkward.
“Tingting-jie, what’s going on?” Luo Yunye asked with a smile.
Zhang Tingting looked like she was struggling with how to say it.
Before she could answer, Du Wendy strolled over, cheerful and smug. She patted Luo Yunye lightly on the shoulder. “Thanks for the proposal—everyone loved it.”
With that, she happily headed out to pick up her coffee.
Luo Yunye felt something was wrong. She pulled Zhang Tingting into a corner. “Alright, spill. What happened?”
“This morning…”
Zhang Tingting looked guiltily at her, then sighed and spoke quickly, as if ripping off a bandage. “Before the R&D meeting, the department head called me into his office. He told me to change the lead on your proposal to Du Wendy and let her present it at the meeting. I asked why, and he said I should ask Director Du myself.
But I didn’t dare. I didn’t want to do it, really, but what choice did I have? I have parents to take care of and a mortgage to pay. I can’t afford to go against my boss.”
She bowed deeply. “I’m sorry, Yunye.”
Luo Yunye reached out and helped her up. “Tingting-jie, it’s okay. It’s just a proposal. If she wants it, let her have it. It’s just a title. It’s not like she can take the proposal and actually turn it into a product.”
“But if the product ends up being a success, she’ll be the one credited as the lead. She’ll represent the company at the product launch. She might even make a name for herself in the industry. No one will know about your work behind the scenes.”
“They’ll know,” Luo Yunye said with a smile. “We just need to keep doing our job well. The right people will notice.”
Later, as she passed by the office entrance, she “accidentally” bumped into Du Wendy and knocked over her coffee.
The coffee spilled all over Wendy’s coat—her new coat, the expensive one she’d worn just for today’s big meeting.
“Luo Yunye! Are you blind? You spilled coffee all over me! This coat was expensive—you’re paying for it!”
Luo Yunye turned to glance at her. “Last year’s model. How expensive could it be?”
Wendy’s face froze. She hadn’t expected Yunye to recognize it as last year’s style. Embarrassed, she slammed her cup down on the table. “What does it matter what year it is?! You, with your cheap outfits, probably can’t even afford a thread of this coat. I—”
Before she could finish, Luo Yunye patted her on the shoulder with a calm smile. “You already took the credit for the proposal. Don’t be stingy. The rest of the R&D work—you’re doing it yourself, right?”
At that, Wendy’s anger instantly deflated. She coughed awkwardly and pointed at Yunye. “Just do your part. Once the product is out, I’ll send you the coat—cleaned.”
Luo Yunye chuckled silently. As if I’d wear your secondhand trash.

She worked overtime until 9:30 that night before driving home. The lights were on when she arrived. After parking, she went upstairs and opened the door.
The bedroom was empty, but she heard the shower running.
She had just taken off her coat when the bathroom door opened. Qin Yiwan stepped out, hair still damp, a towel wrapped around her slender frame, exposing her graceful neck and delicate collarbones.
When she saw Luo Yunye, she instinctively clutched the towel tighter. “What are you doing here?”
Luo Yunye smiled. “We’ve been married for three months now—from summer to early autumn. We’ve slept in the same bed this whole time. I used to hold your hand every night as you fell asleep.”
In your dream, I loved you. Twice.
And now the only one still caught in that dream is me.
Yiwan turned her face away, avoiding her gaze. Her voice was cold and distant. “I don’t like sharing a bed with someone. Sleep in the guest room.”
“I’ll sleep on the sofa,” Luo Yunye said, hanging up her coat. “If I move to the guest room the moment you return, no matter what our moms say, Grandma will worry. She’s old—she just wants to see us doing well. Even if we’re just pretending, we shouldn’t let her stress.”
Yiwan didn’t care what their mothers thought, but she did care about Grandma. The old woman’s health wasn’t great. If she got upset over this, it really wouldn’t be worth it.
But still, letting Luo Yunye stay in the same room? What if something happened?
As she hesitated, Luo Yunye grabbed a pillow and tossed it onto the sofa. “Relax. If I’d wanted to do anything to you, I’d have done it while you were still in a coma. You’d probably already be pregnant with my child.”
Yiwan’s eyes instinctively dropped to her stomach. She clutched the towel tighter and quickly went to grab a change of clothes.
When she came out again, she saw Luo Yunye undressing and was startled. “What are you doing?”
“Taking a shower.”
Yunye stripped off her underwear and tossed it into the laundry basket, her toned and elegant figure fully on display.
Yiwan glanced once and immediately blushed. She turned away, flustered. “Can you at least wait until you’re in the bathroom to undress? ”
Luo Yunye grabbed a towel, laughing. “I’m not worried about being seen—what are you so scared of?”
“I—I don’t want to get a stye from looking at you!”
Yiwan regretted her words the moment she said them, shutting her eyes in frustration.
Luo Yunye had had a long day at work. After her shower, she lay on the sofa, rolled over, and fell asleep within minutes.
Yiwan, on the other hand, couldn’t sleep. The presence of someone else in the room made her anxious. She couldn’t fully let her guard down. It wasn’t until well past midnight, exhausted, that she finally drifted off.
The next morning, both of their alarms went off at the same time.
Luo Yunye sat up and stretched. Seeing Yiwan slowly waking as well, she asked gently, “Do you want to go first, or should I?”
“You go ahead.”
Qin Yiwan lay back down on the bed—she hadn’t slept well last night and was utterly exhausted.
Luo Yunye, on the other hand, was in great spirits. While washing up, she even had the energy to sing. When she came out and saw that Qin Yiwan had fallen asleep again, she wasn’t sure whether she should wake her.
Forget it. Let her sleep a little longer.
Luo Yunye went into the walk-in closet and picked out a few outfits, neatly laying them on the edge of the bed so Qin Yiwan could change into them once she woke—if she felt like it.
Then, thinking Qin Yiwan might be thirsty when she woke up, Luo Yunye went downstairs to fill a thermos with hot water and placed it carefully on the bedside table.
After everything was set, Luo Yunye went down to the kitchen and saw Aunt Zhou making breakfast. Now that Qin Yiwan could eat more than just congee, she didn’t need to wake up early to cook for her—but she still wanted to do something.
She washed a box of fruit and packed it nicely, asking the butler, Lin, to remind Qin Yiwan to take it with her when she left.
“Oh—and don’t tell her it was from me.”
Qin Yiwan woke up and saw that it was already past nine. She immediately shot up, fully awake and hurrying to get ready.
Ever since she started school, she had never slept in—not even on weekends. She always woke up naturally at seven. The fact that she overslept today? She blamed Luo Yunye for keeping her up half the night.
After washing up, she noticed the thermos on the bedside table. Steam still gently rose from the spout. She picked it up and took a small sip—just the right temperature, and the dryness in her throat instantly faded.
There was no one else who would’ve thought to leave that water there except Luo Yunye. Glancing over at the bed, she saw a few neatly coordinated outfits laid out. Qin Yiwan held them up one by one—any of them would work. She ended up choosing a sleek black set that leaned toward a professional look.
Time was tight. She grabbed an egg and some milk and got ready to head out. Butler Lin drove her to the Clock Tower Hotel, handing her the fruit box before she got out of the car. “Miss, this is from the young madam.”
Even though Luo Yunye had asked him not to say anything, Butler Lin wanted his lady to know—someone was thinking about her, caring for her.
Qin Yiwan took the bag and went upstairs. She’d previously gotten a status update from the secretarial team on how the hotel was doing. Today marked its official reopening.
All the department heads were waiting nervously for her arrival. When the official start time had come and gone and she still hadn’t shown, they grew anxious. Finally, when her poised, capable figure appeared, everyone perked up and greeted her enthusiastically.
As always, Qin Yiwan walked calmly through the crowd, returning their greetings with polite nods before heading straight into the conference room.
She listened to each department’s reports but found herself growing sleepy—and a little hungry.
Remembering the fruit Luo Yunye had packed, she took the box from the bag and opened it. Inside were cherry tomatoes, blueberries, Shine Muscat grapes, and big cherries.
Luo Yunye hadn’t known when she’d eat, so she avoided any fruits that needed to be cut. These small ones were convenient, easy to wash, and could be eaten any time.
As she listened to the reports, Qin Yiwan casually popped one piece of fruit after another into her mouth. By the end of the meeting, the entire box was empty.
Her secretary asked if she should prepare more fruit for her later. Qin Yiwan declined. “No need—I’ve already had too much today.”
For the next several days, Luo Yunye continued preparing fruit for Qin Yiwan, who took it with her to the hotel. Whenever she was too busy for lunch, she’d snack on the fruit instead. By the time things at the hotel were finally back on track, nearly half a month had passed.
When she finally had some free time, Luo Yunyi invited her to a movie, but Qin Yiwan turned her down.
Instead, she sat staring at the divorce agreement in front of her, reviewing every detail one last time. She had included a generous financial settlement—something Luo Yunye would never refuse.
That day, Luo Yunye—unexpectedly—received a phone call from Qin Yiwan, asking her to come home early.
In a good mood, Luo Yunye told Zhang Tingting and the others that she wasn’t staying late at the office that day.
Zhang Tingting teased her, “Got a date or something?”
Luo Yunye smiled and replied, “Nope. Gotta go home to keep the wife company.”
“You already have a wife, and you haven’t even graduated college? I don’t buy it.”
Someone nearby chimed in, “Tingting-jie, you’re too literal. These days, couples call each other ‘wife’ all the time.”
“Oh my, guess I’m getting old—I can’t keep up with you youngsters. Well, Luo Yunye’s been working like crazy lately. Go home, go pamper your wife.”
Walking down the road, Luo Yunye kept wondering—why had Qin Yiwan asked her to come back early?
Could it be… she knew it was her birthday?
Luo Yunye had no idea whether the original “Luo Yunye” celebrated by the lunar or solar calendar. But according to the birthdate on her ID, today was her birthday.
She didn’t think much of birthdays, but still, the possibility that Qin Yiwan remembered and had prepared some kind of surprise made her heart flutter.
Just imagining Qin Yiwan waiting for her at home made Luo Yunye want to fly back immediately. The idea of a birthday surprise had her smiling uncontrollably, humming songs to herself as everything around her seemed to sparkle with joy.
Meanwhile, Butler Lin had been preparing a surprise party for her birthday. When he saw she was already home, he was caught off guard and scrambled to hide everything with the staff.
Luckily, Luo Yunye didn’t seem to notice at all. Still smiling, she went straight upstairs to her room.
Soon after, Qin Yiwan arrived home. Seeing the house staff looking suspiciously busy, she asked, “Has Luo Yunye come back yet?”
“Yes, Miss. She just went upstairs.”
Qin Yiwan never asked what they were doing. She simply headed up the stairs.
Inside the room, Luo Yunye was humming cheerfully, adjusting a bouquet of fresh flowers on the vanity. She fixed her hair and checked her makeup—wanting to look her absolute best for Qin Yiwan.
When she heard the door open, she turned around and beamed. “Wanwan, you’re back? You told me to come home early—what’s the occasion?”
“There’s something important,” Qin Yiwan said calmly.
Luo Yunye’s heart skipped a beat.
Qin Yiwan took a folder from her bag, walked over, and handed it to her.
Still smiling, Luo Yunye took it and looked down at the cover.
Four bold words: Divorce Agreement.
All the joy in her heart vanished in an instant, snuffed out like a candle in the wind.
“These past few weeks… Thank you for taking care of me,” Qin Yiwan said. “Our marriage was unfair from the start. It’s time to set things right.”
“So—let’s get divorced.”
