After the Divorce, the Heiress Omega Regretted It - Chapter 34
“Yunye, you’re young and beautiful. There are plenty of Omegas out there who like you. There’s no need to waste your time on me. I can’t give you the kind of love you’re looking for.
As for Yunyi, we’ve known and accompanied each other for many years. She’s long since become like family to me. There’s no need for you to compare yourself to her.”
Qin Yiwan spoke to her gently and calmly, making Luo Yunye feel like she was being a petulant child throwing a tantrum.
Yunye forced a faint smile. “Since you know how I feel about you, then no matter how pretty or outstanding those other Omegas may be, they have nothing to do with me. In my eyes, in my heart, there’s only you. Any other Alpha I see is just a love rival.”
She had tried to reason with her, but Luo Yunye suddenly threw out a confession instead. Qin Yiwan was caught off guard. She took a deep breath and looked away. It took a while before she composed herself and turned to Yunye.
“Yunye, you can’t force love. I don’t feel that spark with you—not now, and not ever.
I know these words might hurt you, but they are the truth. I can’t lie to you, and I certainly can’t lie to myself.”
She spoke cruel truths with sincerity and gentleness, like slicing at Yunye’s heart with a small knife—careful not to cut too deeply, afraid she wouldn’t feel enough pain to realize the truth.
Yunye pretended not to mind, curling her lips into a smile. “Is this how gentle you are when rejecting everyone?”
Qin Yiwan shook her head. “I just tell them I have a fiancée, and they give up.”
Luo Yunyi held that position as her “fiancée,” shielding Qin Yiwan from plenty of unwanted advances. Qin Yiwan never objected to their family arrangement—this was part of the reason why.
After saying that, something crossed Qin Yiwan’s mind. She fell silent for a moment, then said, “You should head back. Yunyi is still in the hospital—I want to go visit her.”
Luo Yunye’s eyelashes fluttered. She reached out and grabbed Qin Yiwan’s arm. “Do you think that if you get close to Luo Yunyi, I’ll give up on you?”
“You’ll be hurt,” Qin Yiwan said, turning to look at her. She gently pried Yunye’s hand off, then said cruelly, “And once you’re hurt, you’ll let go.”
“I won’t.”
Yunye held her arm tighter. “I won’t give up. Please don’t go see her. Come home with me.”
She tried to tug Qin Yiwan toward the car, but Qin Yiwan pushed her hand away. Her voice wasn’t loud, but her tone was serious.
“Luo Yunye! Be rational! Even if we’re married, even if we stay married forever, it doesn’t change the fact that I don’t love you. Give up. The sooner you give up, the better for both of us.”
“I won’t give up!”
Yunye’s eyes reddened. She opened her mouth to speak but instead looked up at the sky, trying to hold back the breakdown that threatened.
She said, “I’ve never loved someone like this in my life. Never wanted to be with someone so badly for the rest of my life.
She’s right here, in front of me, beside me, on our marriage certificate. We could be happy together. How am I supposed to give that up?”
She took a breath and choked down the tears. She reached out to take Qin Yiwan’s hand, her voice barely above a whisper. “You’ve just forgotten that you love me. That’s all. I can wait—wait until you remember.”
Qin Yiwan avoided her hand, took a step back, and said coldly, “No. I never loved you. Not once.”
Just as she finished speaking, the butler pulled the car up. Qin Yiwan turned and quickly got in.
“Drive.”
“But, Miss, the young madam hasn’t gotten in yet—”
“I said drive!”
Qin Yiwan raised her voice. She turned her head away, mind in complete chaos.
She didn’t understand why her heart raced when she said those things. Why it felt like she was lying. Like she was saying something she didn’t mean.
But she was telling the truth—she didn’t love Luo Yunye. Never had. That was the truth.
Still, her chest felt unbearably tight. She took a deep breath, rolled the window down, and let the night wind whip across her face. She needed to clear her head. She couldn’t let herself think about Luo Yunye anymore.
The butler watched Qin Yiwan through the rearview mirror—saw her frown, her clenched fists tapping her chest like she was in pain.
“Miss, are you feeling unwell?”
“Go to the hospital.”
Qin Yiwan really did feel unwell, and she had told Yunye she was going to visit Luo Yunyi anyway—so now was as good a time as any.
Yunye watched the car drive off. She stood frozen, tears silently spilling from her eyes, sliding down her cheeks, dripping onto her collarbone—cold and cutting.

When she got home, she noticed Qin Yiwan’s shoes weren’t by the door. She asked the butler where she went. After a moment of hesitation, the butler said she was at the hospital with Luo Yunyi and told her not to wait up.
That night, Qin Yiwan never came home. Luo Yunye lay awake till dawn.
For several days afterward, Qin Yiwan didn’t return. Yunye tried calling but got no answer. She messaged her, asking if she was still angry, apologizing, and asking when she’d come home. Her messages disappeared like stones into the ocean.
Yunye hadn’t slept well at all. Whether her eyes were open or closed, all she could think about was Qin Yiwan. Finally, she couldn’t take it anymore and went to the Bell Tower Hotel to wait for her—only to see her getting into Luo Yunyi’s car.
She didn’t even have the courage to stop her. It felt like the strength drained from her body in an instant.
Qin Yiwan was determined to force Luo Yunye into divorce. She gave up on the “ten things” she promised to do. She didn’t even come home—choosing cold, silent rejection instead.
Eventually, Yunye realized she’d been blocked. Her calls went to voicemail. Her messages no longer went through.
She didn’t understand what she had done wrong. Why Qin Yiwan had to treat her this way. The more she thought about it, the more it hurt. She’d even burst into tears at her desk, thinking about Qin Yiwan.
Zhang Tingting noticed Yunye’s gloom but didn’t pry. Instead, she quietly helped wherever she could, trying not to disturb her.
On the other hand, Du Wendy, having heard rumors about the impending divorce, took pleasure in provoking her, delighted to see Yunye looking so broken.

Qin Yiwan’s birthday was approaching. Yunye channeled all her grief into building an intelligent robotic puppy—her first completed project, a gift for Qin Yiwan.
Every night, she worked until exhaustion hit, falling asleep the moment she got home. Some nights, she woke from nightmares where Qin Yiwan was in danger, and afterward, she couldn’t sleep again.
She remembered asking Wei Shuang to follow Du Weimin and take photos. There was now a large stack of photos she hadn’t looked at yet. Since she was already awake, she pulled them out and began to go through them one by one.
From the photos, Yunye noticed that Du Weimin frequently visited a particular coffee shop—far from their company.
Wei Shuang had left handwritten notes on the back of the photos:
“President Du always orders a cup of coffee, then goes to the restroom for around twenty minutes.”
Going to the bathroom for twenty minutes every time was odd—odd enough that Wei Shuang made a note of it.
Yunye also noticed that Du Wendy went there too—and she seemed very familiar with the café’s owner. The two of them laughed together and even hugged from time to time.

The next day after work, Luo Yunye made a stop at a café.
She picked a secluded corner seat and ordered a coffee. There were some magazines and newspapers nearby, so she casually grabbed a newspaper to shield herself as she discreetly watched the bar and kept an eye on the entrance.
After a while, a familiar figure appeared at the door. Luo Yunye hadn’t expected to actually run into Du Weimin—but there she was. She always sat at the same spot; the staff didn’t even need to ask what she wanted to drink anymore.
Du Weimin sipped her coffee for a bit, made a few calls, then got up and headed to the restroom.
Luo Yunye waited two minutes before following her. The café’s women’s restroom had only three stalls. When she entered, two were empty; the other was occupied. Someone in that stall answered a call—but it wasn’t Du Weimin’s voice.
Which meant Du Weimin hadn’t come in to use the restroom.
Luo Yunye stepped back out and looked around, but there was no sign of the café owner. She asked one of the servers, who told her the boss lady was busy with something. They asked if she needed anything from her.
Luo Yunye smiled politely and said it was nothing—she just wanted to ask if the café had any special promotions.
The server explained the discount policy and handed her a flyer. Luo Yunye took the chance to answer a phone call and slipped out.
She had a vague suspicion—and it wouldn’t be hard to confirm.
But if she wanted to get to the bottom of Qin Yiwan’s car accident, she still needed to find the mother-daughter duo behind the incident.
Now that this part of her plan was moving, she asked Wei Shuang to track them down. The girl’s illness couldn’t be treated quickly, so they were likely renting a place near the hospital. Luo Yunye instructed her to follow that lead.
******
Qin Yiwan’s birthday happened to fall on Christmas this year.
The hotel was decked out in festive decorations for the occasion, with guests stopping for photos and enjoying the holiday vibe.
Though she’d told everyone she didn’t celebrate birthdays, when the day came, Qin Yiwan still felt a little disappointed.
Another birthday, quietly forgotten.
Neither of her two mothers called to say happy birthday. No gifts either.
Her grandmother had prepared a gift and invited her home for dinner. She even scolded her over the phone, saying;
I don’t know what kind of temper you’ve been throwing lately, refusing to come home and choosing to live in a hotel instead.”
Qin Yiwan made an excuse about work being too busy—that staying at the hotel was just more convenient.
Still, word had spread in the family: she and Luo Yunye were getting divorced and were already living apart.
Her grandmother’s voice turned serious:
“And what’s Yunye supposed to do? She married you so young, and when you were in a coma, she took care of you day and night. Not even your two mothers were that attentive.
And now what? You wake up and want a divorce? You’re living separately? Do you think money alone pays back someone’s devotion?
Gold has a price—true affection doesn’t.
Being tough in the business world is fine, but at home, with your wife, you should try to communicate.
Come home early tonight. Let’s have dinner as a family and celebrate your birthday.”
It was the first time Grandma had personally called. Qin Yiwan couldn’t turn her down. She declined Luo Yunyi’s earlier invitation to dinner.
Luo Yunyi called her: “Is Yunye planning a birthday dinner for you?”
“Grandma asked me to come home.”
She’d been staying at the hotel for over a month now. After blocking all of Luo Yunye’s contacts, Luo Yunye never came looking for her. Over time, it became easy to forget she even had a wife.
But Luo Yunyi often brought her up—dripping with passive-aggression. And seeing Qin Yiwan’s indifferent reaction, she eventually asked, testing the waters:
“Wanwan… are you really planning to divorce her?”
Qin Yiwan didn’t hide it. She nodded.
“I want to, but she hasn’t agreed yet.”
“Then… after the divorce—”
Luo Yunyi looked at her hopefully.
“Do I still have a chance to be with you?”
Qin Yiwan thought for a moment, then replied seriously,
“Yunyi… I think of you as family. Like a younger sister.”
Luo Yunyi wasn’t satisfied with being a “sister,” of course. But unlike Luo Yunye, she knew how to play the long game. She’d stay by her side—sooner or later, the opportunity would come.
Knowing Qin Yiwan would be going home for dinner that evening, Luo Yunyi bought a birthday cake and flowers and had them delivered to her office. She said her actual gift would come later, once Qin Yiwan returned to the hotel that night.
But Qin Yiwan hadn’t decided whether she’d be staying at home or heading back to the hotel.
“Thanks for the thought. But the gift’s really not necessary,” she said.
“It’s from the heart. So it needs to be delivered in person. Call me after dinner—I’ll come find you, okay?”
Qin Yiwan paused, then softly agreed, “Okay.”

When she got home after work, the sky had already dimmed. The moment she stepped out of the car, she saw the yard twinkling with fairy lights. A red carpet stretched along the walkway, flanked by fresh flowers and their strong fragrance—all leading up the steps.
She opened the door, and a spotlight hit her.
Confetti poppers went off with a loud bang, showering her in a flurry of white petals like winter snow—beautiful and romantic.
For just a moment, Qin Yiwan felt the spirit of Christmas.
As piano music began to play, the spotlight shifted—to Luo Yunye.
She was in a backless white gown, her long hair styled up with a few soft strands left loose. She looked stunning—elegant, poised.
She sat at the piano, her slender fingers dancing across the keys, playing a love song. As the tune wrapped up, it shifted seamlessly into “Happy Birthday,” and the crowd began singing along.
When the music ended, Luo Yunye stood, looked directly at her, and said,
“Wanwan, happy birthday.”
Standing there in the shadows, Qin Yiwan stared at her. She was, undeniably, beautiful—hauntingly so.
They hadn’t seen each other in over a month, and now, under the intensity of Luo Yunye’s loving gaze, her heartbeat sped up—she didn’t even dare meet her eyes.
The living room lights came on. Everyone gathered to wish her well. She responded politely, but her eyes kept drifting toward Luo Yunye.
She saw Zhao Ke handing her a coat. Luo Yunye slipped it on and lifted the hem of her dress as she walked over.
She saw Wei Shuang hand her a bouquet. Luo Yunye took it, and the crowd instinctively stepped aside to clear a path.
In front of everyone, Qin Yiwan could no longer ignore her.
She turned to face Luo Yunye as she approached. Luo Yunye knelt on one knee, holding out the flowers.
She said, “Wanwan, I love you.”
Did she love her?
Qin Yiwan looked down. Luo Yunye’s gaze was undeniably sincere. Maybe… maybe she really did love her.
But sadly, she didn’t love Luo Yunye back.
There was no warmth in her chest—only discomfort.
She didn’t take the bouquet. Instead, she turned to her grandmother and said,
“Grandma, I’m home.”
The crowd was stunned. This was not how they pictured the evening.
In their minds, Qin Yiwan was supposed to take the bouquet, reach for Luo Yunye’s hand, and they’d share a tender look, then eat together, cut the cake, and make a wish—a perfect birthday party.
The AI dog, which had been filming since she stepped out of the car, now caught the sight of Luo Yunye still kneeling. It tilted its head in confusion, trotted over, and bumped her gently.
“Luoluo, get up,” it said in its soft, sweet voice. “The floor’s cold.”
Butler Lin hurried over, worried.
“Young madam, please get up.”
Luo Yunye gave the dog a little pat on the head and said gently,
“Aiwan, go be with Wanwan now. She’s your true owner.”
“Okay, Luoluo! I’ll go find Wanwan!”
The little AI dog bounced over toward Qin Yiwan.
Luo Yunye stood up. Butler Lin brushed her dress off, then asked if she was cold and needed to go upstairs to change.
Before she could answer, a shocked voice rang out from across the room—
“What the hell is that?!”
Luo Yunye looked up just in time to see Qin Yiwan kick Aiwan away.
The robot dog tumbled across the floor in a series of clumsy flips before righting itself and sitting obediently.
“Wanwan, I’m your smart pet dog,” it said sweetly. “My name is Aiwan.”
Luo Yunye’s nose stung. She blinked quickly, trying not to cry.
