- Chapter 36 - A’Wan, My A’Wan (Part 2)
Qin Yiwan woke up in a hotel room last night, feeling terribly unwell. She knew that feeling all too well—her heat had arrived.
She opened a drawer and found the suppressant she always kept on hand.
After injecting herself, she sat there trying to piece things together. She had no idea how she’d ended up in a hotel. All she knew was that Luo Yunye wasn’t with her—and she missed her terribly. She picked up her phone, intending to call her, only to realize she didn’t even have her number.
Whatever had happened between the primary personality and Luo Yunye, she had no clue. Once her pheromones stabilized, she took a cab home.
She rushed back in a panic. The house was empty, and her heart sank.
Hearing the noise, Butler Lin came out. Seeing Qin Yiwan standing at the door, she rubbed her eyes in confusion. “Miss, you’re back?”
“Where’s Yunye?” Qin Yiwan turned to ask her.
“Since you went to stay at the hotel, the young madam—maybe to avoid being reminded of you—has been sleeping in the guest room,” Lin replied.
Qin Yiwan let out a breath, her voice softening. “Go back to bed, Butler Lin.”
“Alright, you get some rest too.”
Once she heard the door close behind Butler Lin, Qin Yiwan made her way to the guest room and quietly opened the door.
The room was pitch black. She tiptoed over to the bed and gently lifted the covers before slipping in.
Normally, Luo Yunye was a light sleeper. But tonight, she didn’t stir—not even when Qin Yiwan kissed her, touched her… nothing.
That was fine. This way, she could do as she pleased—without interruption.
Feeling her softly respond to the kisses in her sleep, Qin Yiwan’s heart pounded and her breath grew heavy. She pulled off her own clothes and tossed them aside, then began tugging at Luo Yunye’s sleepwear. Skin on skin—it felt intoxicating.
Strangely, Luo Yunye didn’t even open her eyes, despite all the movement. And yet, there was a certain responsiveness in her touch, as if part of her consciousness had awakened—her hands roaming skillfully, leaving Qin Yiwan caught between wanting more and being overwhelmed, biting her lip to suppress any sound.
The fervent kisses left her mind in a daze, her body burning. When Qin Yiwan guided Luo Yunye’s hand lower, she knew Luo Yunye wasn’t fully awake, but the blush rising to her face—and ears and neck—betrayed her shyness all the same.
Thankfully, Luo Yunye always knew how to please her. Like crafting the perfect product—testing, refining, and building pace until the moment of completion.
Qin Yiwan, locked in Luo Yunye’s embrace, couldn’t move. She called her name but got no reply. Sleep overtook her.
Now, as she lay in Luo Yunye’s arms again, listening to her whisper about how much she’d missed her, Qin Yiwan felt a rush of joy and satisfaction. She wrapped her arms around her in return. “I missed you too. I came looking for you the moment I woke up last night. Oh, and about last night… I haven’t showered yet.”
Luo Yunye recalled the dreamlike fragments from the previous night and gently tilted Qin Yiwan’s chin, teasing, “You’re such a rascal. Taking advantage of me while I was asleep.”
“I—I didn’t mean to…” Qin Yiwan stammered, unable to defend herself. It had been her who initiated everything. She looked up at Luo Yunye, blinking innocently. “I was in heat. What’s wrong with doing that kind of thing with my wife, hmm?”
“Nothing at all,” Luo Yunye kissed her lips. “You can do whatever you want to me—or tell me what you want me to do.”
Qin Yiwan blushed under Luo Yunye’s intense gaze and snuggled back into her arms, her fingers lightly drumming on her collarbone. “Then… let’s shower?”
“Okay.”
Luo Yunye rolled out of bed. “Wait here, I’ll go run the hot water.”
Qin Yiwan obediently pulled the covers over herself, leaving only her eyes exposed as she nodded.
Luo Yunye couldn’t get enough of those bright, deer-like eyes. She leaned down and kissed them before heading to the bathroom.
While the water ran, she washed up. Spotting Qin Yiwan’s clothes on the floor, she picked them up and folded them neatly by the bed. Then she pulled back the covers and scooped her up.
Even after everything they’d done, Qin Yiwan still blushed when held naked like this—especially when she saw their reflection in the bathroom mirror. She buried her face in Luo Yunye’s neck, avoiding her gaze.
Luo Yunye chuckled and lowered her into the tub. The water splashed up and soaked them both.
When she didn’t follow her in, Qin Yiwan looked up. “Aren’t you getting in?”
“It’s getting late. I have to work.”
Qin Yiwan’s face fell.
Luo Yunye hesitated only a second before stepping into the tub. “But I suppose taking a day off isn’t the end of the world.”
Qin Yiwan’s lips curled into a smile. “Oh,” she murmured, idly splashing water over her arms.
“Oh? What does that mean? ”Luo Yunye cupped water and poured it over her face.
Caught off guard, Qin Yiwan stared at her in shock. But when she saw her grinning, she retaliated with a splash of her own.
They played like that for a while until Luo Yunye suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her in.
Qin Yiwan tumbled into her arms. Their wet hair clung to their faces, dripping steadily. Their eyes met—desire flickering in both.
Luo Yunye gently brushed Qin Yiwan’s hair back, her fingers threading through the strands, sending shivers down her spine.
They were so close their breaths mingled—both desperate to kiss, yet each waiting for the other to make the first move.
Qin Yiwan finally leaned in and brushed her lips against Luo Yunye’s cheek. That was all it took—Luo Yunye cupped her face and kissed her, hot and hungry, like fire set loose.
She turned Qin Yiwan to sit with her in the tub, one hand wrapping around her front, the other trailing lower. She kissed her neck, whispering in her ear over and over, “A’Wan… A’Wan…”
Qin Yiwan’s senses were overwhelmed, her breathing ragged as she turned her head, seeking her lips.
Luo Yunye met her kiss, her hands moving in rhythm, swallowing all her whimpers with her mouth.
Later, Luo Yunye lifted her from the tub and guided her to the vanity. Qin Yiwan braced herself against it, watching their reflection.
Her cheeks flushed, her long hair in disarray—Luo Yunye held her from behind, pressing deep.
“Yunye… Yunye…” she murmured, barely coherent, begging for release.
After catching a bit more sleep, Qin Yiwan was bombarded with missed calls. The secretary team was utterly useless—everything was waiting on her.
But she didn’t love work. She didn’t want to interfere with the primary personality’s business either, fearing she’d only make a mess. So she told the team she was taking a few days off and not to call again.
Luo Yunye, glowing with post-romantic bliss, went downstairs to prepare food and coaxed Qin Yiwan to wake up and eat before resting more.
“Where are you going?” Qin Yiwan held her hand, looking up at her.
“Nowhere,” Luo Yunye said, squeezing her hand. “I’m staying right here with you until you wake.”
Qin Yiwan closed her eyes but couldn’t fall asleep. “Did you and the primary personality fight? Why did she go to a hotel? And you stopped sleeping in the master bedroom too…”
Luo Yunye didn’t hide the truth. “She… wants a divorce. I didn’t agree.”
“She wants a divorce?!” Qin Yiwan shot up. “Is she insane? You were the one who pulled her out of the abyss! She has feelings for you too, doesn’t she? Why would she want to leave you?”
“She lost her memory. Everything that happened after the car crash—becoming a vegetable, everything—is gone.”
To her, she’d simply woken up one day to find herself suddenly married. Of course, she’d want out.
No one was really to blame.
Qin Yiwan felt her strength drain away.
Luo Yunye gently caressed her cheek. “Don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere. I won’t divorce you.”
Qin Yiwan leaned into her arms, a bitter ache in her heart. Of course, she wanted to be with Luo Yunye.
But during her absence, the primary personality had probably done everything possible to push Luo Yunye away.
And in the end, none of the three of them would find real happiness.
She thought about how long she’d waited for this moment with Luo Yunye and suddenly didn’t want to sleep anymore. She wanted to cherish every second.
She got up to freshen up and saw the marks on her neck in the mirror. She tugged at the corner of her lips—Luo Yunye must’ve been starving for too long; she nearly devoured her whole.
Just as she stepped outside, something fluffy came bounding toward her. She looked down to see a small, fuzzy puppy wagging its tail excitedly.
“Good morning, Wanwan! You didn’t go to work today because you’re feeling down, right? Aiwan can keep you company!”
Qin Yiwan crouched down and scooped the puppy into her arms, eyes wide with surprise. “Your name’s Aiwan?”
“Yup! I’m your intelligent pet puppy. My name is Aiwan!”
No doubt Luo Yunye had named it.
“So, Aiwan, what can you do?”
“I can control the smart devices in the house, take photos and record videos, play with you, offer emotional support, and keep you safe!”
“You’re amazing! ” Qin Yiwan laughed, lifting it high. Then she thought of something. “Can I view your recordings?”
“Of course! Just remove the memory card from my chest and plug it into the computer.”
Qin Yiwan patted its head. “You’re so clever, Aiwan. You even know that.”
Aiwan wagged its tail happily.
Qin Yiwan was eager to find out what had happened while she was gone. She took the memory card to the study and inserted it into the computer.
The footage started from when the primary personality got out of the car. Her demeanor was cold and serious—so unlike herself, it was hard to believe it was just another “her.”
The early clips were sweet enough, but then came the moment Luo Yunye knelt and held out flowers. The primary didn’t even take them.
Qin Yiwan, who had been casually propping up her chin, sat upright, a dull ache in her chest.
Then she saw herself (primary personality) kick Aiwan aside. Her heart clenched. She worried Aiwan might have been broken—but the puppy had immediately sat back up and introduced itself.
Qin Yiwan’s nose tingled, her eyes stinging. She hadn’t expected the primary to be so cold, so cruel—to trample all over Luo Yunye’s love.
Footsteps echoed from the hallway. Qin Yiwan hurried to wipe away her tears and closed the video.
Luo Yunye opened the door and waved her over. “I made your favorite—sweet and sour ribs. Come down and try it.”
Qin Yiwan forced a smile. “Okay. Let me use the restroom first. I’ll be right there.”
Once Luo Yunye left, Qin Yiwan called Aiwan over and reinserted the memory card, then went downstairs.
She couldn’t change the past. All she could do now was cherish every moment.
Because every second was something Luo Yunye had suffered for.
