- After the Divorce, the Heiress Omega Regretted It
- Chapter 45 - Looks like she really doesn’t care anymore.
Qin Yiwan watched her walk away without hesitation, then slowly took a deep breath and rubbed her temples, clearly agitated.
Butler Lin, quick on the uptake, had already returned to the car and began driving them home. She kept glancing at Qin Yiwan in the rearview mirror, cautious not to disturb her mood. When she saw her leaning back with her eyes closed, seemingly resting, she quietly turned up the air conditioning temperature.
When the car pulled up in front of the house, Lin looked back and saw Qin Yiwan still resting. She called her name softly a couple of times but didn’t get a response—she must’ve been truly exhausted.
Just as she was wondering what to do next, Qin Yiwan’s phone suddenly rang. The screen lit up with Luo Yunyi’s name.
Lin was about to reach over and decline the call when Qin Yiwan startled awake. She blinked, disoriented, then realized she was still in the car. Seeing her phone still vibrating, she picked it up and answered.
Meanwhile, Butler Lin got out and opened the car door for her.
“Tomorrow?”
As she stepped out of the car and walked toward the house, she heard Luo Yunyi on the other end say, “Mm. It’s my dad’s birthday tomorrow. I’d like to invite you to dinner—can you come?”
“What time?”
“The dinner starts at six. If you’re free, I can pick you up.”
“Okay.”
Once Qin Yiwan agreed, Luo Yunyi used Luo Dongbin’s phone to send a message to Luo Yunye.
Luo Yunye had already found a place and was planning to move out the next day.
She had packed everything into a single suitcase. When she came across a jewelry box tucked between her clothes, she paused. Opening it, she took out a ring and slid it onto her ring finger, holding it up under the light.
Her hands were elegant—slender, with smooth, pale knuckles. The diamond ring shimmered on her finger. As she recalled the moment A’Wan had placed it on her, a soft smile tugged at her lips.
But the memory faded as quickly as it came. Her expression stiffened, and she took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. Then she removed the ring, kissed it lightly, placed it gently back into the box, and closed the lid before tucking it into her suitcase.
She had subconsciously downed quite a bit of alcohol after running into Qin Yiwan at the bar. Her head was foggy, so after washing up, she went straight to bed.

The next morning, she received a message from Luo Dongbin, reminding her that it was his birthday and asking her to come home for dinner with the family. When she didn’t respond, he sent a few more messages, his tone uncharacteristically humble and sincere—apologizing for the past and begging her to come home, just this once.
Luo Yunye didn’t believe for a second that Luo Dongbin would lower himself like that. If someone wanted her back that badly, she might as well go and see what they were up to.
After sleeping off her hangover, she got ready to move. She didn’t have much—just one suitcase. Lin Yujia drove over to pick her up and helped her check out the new apartment.
“You’re living alone, and you rented a two-bedroom place? Is one of the rooms for me?”
The apartment was new and modern, with warm tones and fully furnished. According to the landlord, it was originally meant to be the son’s wedding home, but the couple ended up relocating shortly after moving in.
Luo Yunye dragged her suitcase into the bedroom and pulled out a few clothes to hang up.
“If your family ever kicks you out and you’ve got nowhere to go, you can come stay here.”
“So if I don’t get kicked out, I’m not allowed to crash here?”
Lin Yujia peeked into the smaller bedroom—it wasn’t large, but it was cozy. A 1.5-meter bed, built-in closet… It felt like their old college dorm days, and she was honestly tempted to move in.
“You’re welcome anytime,” Luo Yunye said, standing behind her as they both admired the sunlit room. “I’ll buy some sheets and covers this afternoon and set everything up. You’re always welcome.”
“Now that’s more like it.”
There wasn’t anything to eat at home, so they headed to the supermarket. While browsing, they passed by the suppressants section. Seeing them made Luo Yunye suddenly think of the dream she had—choosing suppressants for A’Wan.
Lin Yujia nudged her. “Spacing out again? Haven’t you always used this brand?”
She was holding a mint-scented suppressant. Luo Yunye snapped back to reality and picked up a jasmine-scented one instead. “I want to try this one.”
“Why the sudden switch? That one’s kind of… omega-coded. Wait—don’t tell me your ex had this scent? You’re still not over her?”
“It’s not,” Luo Yunye said, tossing the suppressant into the cart and heading toward the fruit section.
“Then who?”
Lin followed close behind, clearly curious. “Didn’t you say you weren’t into anyone?”
“I’m not,” Luo Yunye said. “Not anymore.”
If only getting over someone were as simple as saying it aloud.
Lin Yujia saw her grab some kiwis and dragon fruit, then walk away. She picked up a big mango and called after her, “Don’t you love mangoes? Not getting any?”
“No.”
Ever since learning that Qin Yiwan was allergic to mangoes, Luo Yunye had stopped eating them. Her answer was instinctive, but after a brief pause, she turned around, picked up a mango, and placed it in the cart.
Lin grinned. “Saying no with your mouth, but your body tells the truth.”
Luo Yunye gave a wry smile. She was trying to change—trying to make her words and actions match. If she said she didn’t love Qin Yiwan, she had to truly stop loving her.
They returned home with a full cart of groceries and supplies. After putting everything away, they went out for lunch. Lin had an elective class in the afternoon, so she took a short nap at Luo Yunye’s place before heading out.
Once she left, Luo Yunye changed the bedsheets, cleaned the apartment from top to bottom, then showered and napped until evening.
When she woke up, she remembered she still had to attend Luo Dongbin’s birthday dinner. She picked out a formal evening gown, layered a long down coat over it, did her makeup meticulously, grabbed her bag, and caught a cab to the Luo residence.
She arrived a bit early—some guests had already shown up. Luo Dongbin stood at the entrance, greeting them with a smile. But the moment he saw Luo Yunye, his expression faltered. His smile disappeared, and his brows furrowed.
As she approached, he muttered through gritted teeth, “Who told you to come?”
“You sent me a message begging me to come, didn’t you?”
She smiled and pulled up the message history on her phone to show him.
Luo Dongbin took the phone, and sure enough, it was his number. His face twisted with anger. He grabbed her arm and pulled her aside, hissing, “I didn’t send those. Get out. You’re not welcome here.”
Luo Yunyi had deliberately lured her back to humiliate her—to remind her that Luo Dongbin was her father and hers alone, not someone Luo Yunye could lay claim to.
But Luo Yunye wasn’t about to leave just yet until Qin Yiwan arrived.
Feigning ignorance, Luo Yunyi walked over with a polite smile. “You came to celebrate Dad’s birthday?”
Luo Dongbin scowled. “Who invited her? Get her out of here now!”
“No rush,” Luo Yunye said coolly, brushing her hair behind her ear. “The main event hasn’t even started yet. If I leave now, some people might not have anyone left to perform for.”
She smiled calmly. “Besides, me showing up at the Luo house should be an honor for you. Whether I stay or leave—it’s not your call.”
“Wanna bet?”Luo Dongbin snapped, raising his voice and calling for the butler.
Before he could finish, Luo Yunyi quickly grabbed her father’s arm, giving him a placating smile—sweet, understanding, and oh-so-perfect.
“Dad, there are so many business partners here today. If Luo Yunye says something that embarrasses you, wouldn’t that ruin your reputation?
Honestly, let’s just let it go. She’s only back here because the Qin family kicked her out, and she’s got nowhere else to go. We’re not starving—we don’t need to feed her. Just let her hang around if she wants to.”
Thinking of all the times his family had to swallow their pride because of her ties to the Qin family, Luo Dongbin’s chest rose and fell sharply. He snorted coldly and stormed off.
That left just the two of them in the corner. Luo Yunyi exhaled slowly, her expression darkening.
“Not putting on the act anymore?”
Luo Yunye let out a short laugh. “So this whole thing—you inviting me here—was just so I could get kicked out by your dad?”
“You knew I was the one who sent the message?”
“Who else in this house would be so ‘concerned’ about me?”
“Then why did you still come?”
“To see what kind of tricks you were planning, of course.”
Her tone was breezy as she strolled over to the refreshment table, eyeing the elegantly plated desserts.
Luo Yunyi followed, clearly annoyed she hadn’t managed to get under Yunye’s skin. “I heard that when you and Wanwan got divorced, you barely walked away with anything. Just some cash, no other assets.”
“So?”
Yunye casually picked up a cherry mousse and took a bite.
“Wanwan never loved you. She didn’t even like you.”
Oh, she already knew that. Was Luo Yunyi trying to twist the knife, hoping she’d flinch?
Too bad—those days were long gone.
Yunye nodded, unfazed. “And?”
“Wanwan and I grew up together—we were childhood sweethearts. I was supposed to be her fiancée. You were just a stand-in. A glorified housekeeper for a few months. You’ll see. In the end, she’ll come back to me.”
“How moving. Should I clap for you?”
Yunye gave her mocking applause. Not even the slightest bit ruffled. If Qin Yiwan truly liked Luo Yunyi, she’d have shown it. She wouldn’t need someone else to stand here trying to declare her claim.
Just as she was about to say more, there was a commotion by the door. She turned and saw Qin Yiwan arriving.
A smile lit up her face as she immediately went to greet her.
“Wanwan, you’re here! Come on in.”
Yiwan had just finished greeting Luo Dongbin at the entrance. When she stepped inside and saw both Luo Yunyi and, unexpectedly, Luo Yunye behind her, she paused for a split second—then quickly composed herself. They were family, after all. It wasn’t so surprising for Yunye to be here.
Liu Chuyi spotted her and hurried over with compliments, gushing nonstop before politely leaving the space to “the younger generation.”
Luo Yunyi subtly guided Yiwan away, intentionally blocking her from coming face-to-face with Yunye—while making sure Yunye could see the two of them together.
Yunye, meanwhile, only glanced at Yiwan once when she entered, then turned her attention to chatting with a few omega guests nearby. She was strikingly beautiful, and it didn’t take long for people to gravitate toward her.
After all the novels she’d lived through, Yunye had picked up a little bit of everything. She could hold a conversation on any topic. At first, the omegas were just drawn in by her looks—but after talking to her, they realized she was knowledgeable, articulate, easygoing… utterly magnetic.
Soon, more and more people began gathering around her. Even those who didn’t know what was going on came closer, curious to hear what this group was discussing.
Luo Yunyi couldn’t help but follow Yiwan’s gaze—Yiwan was watching Yunye too. Her own smile grew tight, and her tone dipped with jealousy.
“Yunye really is popular with omegas, huh? Alphas like her change partners like they change clothes. Not like me—I’ve only ever loved one person, and that’s you.”
Yiwan didn’t respond. Her focus was on what Yunye was saying. She’d gone from economic development to cosmic expansion theory, then pivoted into discussing AI from a psychological and aesthetic perspective, seamlessly tying it all together with insights on future innovation.
She spoke with ease, her smile warm and confident.
The omegas didn’t always fully understand her, but they were clearly impressed. One company executive even tossed out a question, and she answered fluently, earning their respect and admiration.
Everyone admired strength—Yiwan was no exception.
She had always tried to distance herself from Yunye, never caring what she was up to. But thinking back now… to how quickly Yunye had developed AiWan from a mere sketch into a flawless product—it proved just how hardworking, talented, and driven she really was.
And in this moment, Qin Yiwan realized: even without the title of “wife,” Luo Yunye was brilliant.
Her brilliance wasn’t intimidating—it was approachable. She made people want to be around her, to listen to her, and to admire her.
“Wanwan?”
Luo Yunyi noticed Yiwan’s gaze lingering on Yunye and reached out, trying to snap her out of it. “You and Yunye are divorced now. She doesn’t have anything to do with you anymore.”
Stop looking at her. Look at me.
Yiwan slowly pulled her gaze back, picked up a glass of tea, and took a sip. “How do you know we’re divorced?”
Luo Yunyi hesitated, then admitted, “I followed you that day… saw you two went to the civil affairs bureau. I figured it out.”
“Our marriage was a mistake from the beginning. All we did was set things right.”
“Yes, it’s my fault. If I’d been braver back then, none of this would’ve happened. You wouldn’t have had to marry her.”
After a brief pause, Luo Yunyi gathered her courage and pulled a small box from her bag. She opened it in front of Yiwan. “Wanwan, will you give me another chance? I want to spend my life with you—take care of you, love you.”
Inside was a diamond ring—huge and dazzling. But it didn’t move Yiwan at all.
She gently closed the box and pushed it back toward her. “Yunyi, I told you before. I already see you as family. I’m not thinking about love or marriage right now. For the next few years, I’m focusing on my career. Don’t put your life on hold for me.”
“I don’t see it as a waste,” Luo Yunyi said with a forced smile, putting the box away. “Loving you makes me happy.”
“Come on. The banquet’s starting.”
Luo Yunye had casually taken a seat at one of the tables, immediately surrounded by a crowd of omegas.
Qin Yiwan sat at the Luo family table. Every time she looked up, she could see Yunye across the room, laughing and chatting with her tablemates—never once looking her way.
After dinner, the guests began to leave one by one. Luo Yunyi offered to drive Yiwan home, but she politely declined.
Butler Lin pulled the car up to the entrance and saw Yunye coming out. She greeted her with a smile, “Yunye!”
Yunye returned the smile and handed her a house key. “I moved out today. Give this to her for me. I’ll treat you to dinner another time.”
“She’s right behind you. Why not give it to her yourself?”
“No need. She doesn’t want anyone seeing us interact.”
Yunye stepped back as Qin Yiwan walked to the car. Yiwan rolled down the window and looked at her. “Want a ride home?”
Yunye looked genuinely surprised by the offer.
Just then, another omega came over and offered to drive her. She smiled and accepted, then turned to Yiwan and thanked her.
Watching her walk away with someone else, Yiwan rolled up the window. “Let’s go.”
“Miss, here’s your house key. Miss Luo said she’s already moved out.”
Yiwan accepted the key and held it in her palm. Out the window, she saw the other car pulling away—Yunye was inside, chatting and laughing with the omega beside her.
As if sensing something, Yunye turned her head and looked in Yiwan’s direction.
Their eyes met.
But only for a second.
Yunye looked away without hesitation.
Yeah. She really didn’t care anymore.
