After the Flash Marriage, My Ex Who is a Movie Queen Keeps Flirting with Me - Chapter 15
The manager was speechless. “I told you over and over to keep a low profile, and you still ignored me? Is this your idea of being discreet? Why didn’t you just buy yourself the top trending spot? More people would have seen it.”
Ming Jiyue: “I was being discreet! I only posted the food Xiao Yu made for me, not her personally.”
“You were thinking of posting her too?” The manager laughed in exasperation. “Go ahead, post her now, and I’ll jump off the 18th floor right away.”
Ming Jiyue: “…Sister Chen, that’s a bit much.”
“Wan Yu leaves tomorrow morning. You have one last night. Just behave yourself, let her come quietly, and let her leave quietly, okay? No more drama.”
“I understand,” Ming Jiyue agreed readily. “I’ll be good until she leaves.”
“You’d better be,” the manager sighed, exhausted.
Not knowing what else to say, the manager softened her tone and pleaded, “Sister, Sister Ming, my dear sister, please, just behave yourself. No more messing around, okay?”
“I won’t anymore,” Ming Jiyue promised. “It’s not a big deal anyway. They’ll never guess who the visitor was.”
“And one more thing,” Ming Jiyue added, “you’re older than me, so you’re not allowed to call me ‘Sister’.”
The manager was speechless. “You’re older than Wan Yu too, but you still call her ‘Sister’! I heard you!”
Ming Jiyue wasn’t ashamed; she was proud. “That’s just our little game. It’s different.”
“……” The manager, fearing she’d lose her temper and shove her resignation letter in Ming Jiyue’s face, hung up without another word.
Meanwhile, the online forum was buzzing with excitement, focused on a single question: Who visited Ming Jiyue on set?
If it were just a friend, they would have openly interacted on Weibo. But two hours after Ming Jiyue’s post, no one had replied, further fueling speculation that it was her rumored girlfriend.
The vaguer the clues, the more people’s curiosity was piqued. From Ming Jiyue’s close friends to directors and producers she’d worked with, every possible candidate was scrutinized. After eliminating those with conflicting schedules, several names remained.
Some even started meticulously searching for female celebrities who had worn similar outfits to the one in the photo.
However, the information Ming Jiyue had provided on Weibo was too sparse, leaving the guesses inconclusive.
Ming Jiyue logged into her burner account and casually browsed the forum, watching as netizens speculated from every angle about the identity of her visitor.
Although the initial guesses were completely off, dooming the speculation to futility, the range of theories was truly astonishing.
Some claimed it was just a platonic friend, keeping a low profile. Others insisted it was Ming Jiyue’s mysterious girlfriend, whom she had never publicly acknowledged. The most outlandish theory even suggested Ming Jiyue had secretly married, and the visitor was her spouse.
Unsurprisingly, this last theory garnered almost no support, receiving only a handful of replies.
Ming Jiyue, the person in question, silently liked the comment. Her reply: “Exceptional insight. I support this.”
Another commenter grumbled, “You were caught kissing in the street recently and didn’t respond. Now this? Can’t you just tell us the whole story at once?!”
Ming Jiyue found the online chatter amusing, liking particularly entertaining comments. Netizens were truly fascinating.
Then she saw a particular name.
Could it be Liu Fan? There were rumors about her having a special relationship with Ming Jiyue, and she seems to be in Jin City these days too.
Ming Jiyue’s expression darkened instantly. How utterly boring, she thought.
After dinner, Ming Jiyue and Jiang Wanyu went to shower separately. Ever since Jiang Wanyu’s fall in the bathroom last time, she remained wary. Before entering the bathroom, Ming Jiyue couldn’t help but remind her, “Be careful.”
Ming Jiyue smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ll be careful.”
With nothing pressing to do and Jiang Wanyu off work for the weekend, she scrolled through her bookmarks and found a documentary to watch.
Less than ten minutes later, a figure suddenly appeared in front of her. Jiang Wanyu looked up to see Ming Jiyue smiling down at her. “Workaholic, taking a break tonight?”
Jiang Wanyu replied coolly, “I’m not a workaholic. I don’t work overtime on weekends.”
“Then are you free?”
“What’s up? Need something?”
“I have a pretty important scene to film tomorrow. Could you help me rehearse?”
Jiang Wanyu chuckled. “Does Best Actress Ming ever struggle with a scene?”
“I just want to practice more and feel more confident,” Ming Jiyue explained. “You’ve never seen me act before. I wouldn’t want you to leave with a bad impression.”
Since she had nothing else planned, Jiang Wanyu agreed.
The film Ming Jiyue was starring in was called Jade Flute’s Soaring Melody, a sweeping epic about a noblewoman’s journey to becoming a legendary female general. The story was deeply moving and emotionally resonant.
Ming Jiyue asked Jiang Wanyu to help her rehearse a scene where her character reunites with her childhood sweetheart after a decade of separation.
Jiang Wanyu had reviewed Ming Jiyue’s script. It was heavily marked with annotations, personal insights, and revisions to certain lines, clearly demonstrating the immense effort Ming Jiyue had poured into it. Every line of dialogue had been thoroughly internalized and meticulously analyzed.
After a decade apart, their paths had diverged dramatically. One had become a married woman, confined to her domestic life, while the other had risen to become a decisive and battle-hardened female general, leading armies on the battlefield.
Years of separation had transformed them both, leaving behind only the echoes of their former selves.
The first two rehearsals went smoothly. Jiang Wanyu simply read her lines from the script, while Ming Jiyue, a multiple Best Actress winner, effortlessly immersed herself in the role, even without costumes or props, and despite the mundane setting of a hotel room and Jiang Wanyu’s relatively flat delivery. Both rehearsals were executed flawlessly.
“One last run-through,” Ming Jiyue said.
Jiang Wanyu nodded. With her excellent memory, she had nearly memorized the lines after just two readings. For the third rehearsal, she looked up and met Ming Jiyue’s gaze instead of reading from the script.
Everything proceeded as usual, following the script until the final scene: a tearful farewell between the female general and her childhood friend, their unspoken emotions hanging heavy in the air.
At the very end, Ming Jiyue added, “Do you truly not remember me at all?”
As she spoke, she seized Jiang Wanyu’s hand.
This wasn’t in the script. Jiang Wanyu froze, unsure how to react, staring blankly at her. But it didn’t end there. Ming Jiyue lunged forward, cupped the back of Jiang Wanyu’s head, and, with reddened eyes, pressed a fierce kiss to her lips.
Jiang Wanyu stiffened, her mind reeling. She blinked helplessly, forgetting to push back or resist.
Only after what felt like an eternity, when both were gasping for breath, did Ming Jiyue release her. A glistening strand of saliva stretched briefly between their parted lips before snapping away.
Jiang Wanyu’s mind was a chaotic mess, her thoughts scattered. Her eyes glistened with moisture, like spring tides surging within them. Yet she still managed to point weakly at the script and stammer, “This… this scene… isn’t in the script.”
“Oh, right, it’s not there,” Ming Jiyue said with a smile, winking at her. Clearly out of character, she gently brushed aside the slightly disheveled strands of hair framing Jiang Wanyu’s forehead. “I added it on the spot.”
“I couldn’t help myself.”
“Separated for years, reunited after so long… doesn’t it mirror our own situation?” Ming Jiyue mused aloud.
“Actually, it’s not just in the play.”
Jiang Wanyu’s voice trembled involuntarily. “Wh-what?”
Restrained, she instinctively struggled, but Ming Jiyue seized her slender wrists, pinning them above her head against the bed.
Ming Jiyue’s long, slender fingers traced the damp fullness of Jiang Wanyu’s lips, her gaze hazy, her beautiful eyes stained with desire. As if unable to resist the temptation, she leaned in for another kiss.
Jiang Wanyu was completely immobilized, instantly becoming like a fish on a chopping board. Her eyes reddened, she could only submit to Ming Jiyue’s will.
“A month ago, when I first saw you, I wanted to do this.”
