- After the Scumbag Alpha Accidentally Marked the Blackened Villain
- Chapter 1 - I Was Afraid You’d Feel Unwell
The rain had poured heavily the night before.
Inside the villa, the curtains were only half drawn. Morning sunlight slipped through the gap, casting a soft glow on the sleeping woman’s face. Lin Bie’s lashes fluttered as she slowly opened her eyes.
As her vision blurred into focus, she gradually sat up. The crisp white blanket slid off her shoulder with the motion, the rustle of fabric awakening her senses. Memories of the night before surged back all at once—panting, entanglement, sweetness, the mingled breaths of passion and longing exploded in her mind. She froze, then suddenly turned her head.
A lump rose under the covers beside her. A woman lay on her side, turned away, sleeping quietly. Her long hair spilled across the pillow in messy strands, the pale skin of her back faintly marked with traces of last night’s madness. Even from behind, it was obvious she was stunning.
She had a one-night stand.
The realization hit harder than expected. Before Lin Bie could even think about how to handle PR damage control, a flood of unfamiliar memories invaded her brain—relentless and overwhelming, as if trying to force her into clarity.
That was when she understood one thing: she had transmigrated into a novel.
Not just any novel, but a smutty, morally bankrupt yuri web novel she had been secretly reading late at night. And worse—she’d transmigrated into the scumbag Alpha character. The original Lin Bie was a textbook trashy Alpha, playing around irresponsibly, driving her new Omega wife to the point of glandular damage, abandoning her, and eventually meeting a gruesome end—glands sliced out by her blackened wife before they perished in a fire together.
Lin Bie had been so pissed off by the original character’s behavior (and shared name) that she lost sleep for days. And now she was her.
Lin Bie: “…”
A chill crept up the back of her neck. Instinctively, she reached up to touch the slightly raised skin there—her gland. In this world, it was the most vital organ for everyone. The moment her fingers brushed against it, a tingling numbness spread across her entire body. She let out a sharp breath, then clamped her mouth shut, afraid to wake the woman beside her.
Last night, she had just transmigrated in—right into the middle of an Alpha’s heat. Burning up in the cold rain, she was suddenly embraced by this woman. She thought the company execs had drugged her and tried to ask for help dialing 911, but lost consciousness before she could. All that remained was the intense scent of camellias and a rain-soaked night filled with desire and tenderness.
Now the situation was clear. The woman beside her was the one from last night—but instead of helping, she had…
A terrifying thought struck Lin Bie.
The original Alpha had too many lovers to count. But based on the woman’s figure and the vague memories of her breathtaking face through the mist and rain, Lin Bie had a guess.
Leng Jinxi.
The original wife in the novel. Also the final villain—the boss who killed the original Lin Bie in the end.
Great. Now Lin Bie didn’t even have to worry about paparazzi or PR nightmares, because she was probably about to have her gland carved out.
She felt like crying. She had no idea where in the plot she’d landed. Not even bothering to check if she was dressed, she decided to leave the room and try to trigger a storyline event—anything to avoid facing Leng Jinxi, the most dangerous character in the book. But the moment her foot touched the soft carpet, a cold and raspy voice came from behind.
“Where are you going?”
Lin Bie froze. From her tone, it sounded like Leng Jinxi thought she was trying to hit it and quit it. She turned her head in a hurry, only to see the woman sitting upright at the head of the bed. Even just awakened, she was breathtakingly beautiful, the marks from their intimacy still visible along her neck and shoulder.
Lin Bie quickly averted her gaze—but the woman chuckled, the sound even colder than it had been the night before.
“So even the seasoned Miss Lin has moments she can’t bear to look?”
Lin Bie knew she was being mocked. Just as she was about to respond, a nightgown was thrown at her chest. Leng Jinxi’s icy gaze pierced through her.
“Put it on. I won’t repeat myself.”
Whatever Lin Bie was about to say got stuck in her throat. She let out a soft sigh. “Okay.”
In the novel, the original Lin Bie was pure scum, so it made sense Leng Jinxi hated her. But the problem was, she wasn’t that Lin Bie. She had never even been in a relationship before. Why was her start in this world so hellish?
Swallowing her frustration, Lin Bie obediently put the clothes on and tried to sound her out.
“Are you… feeling unwell anywhere?” Judging by Leng Jinxi’s frosty glare, the plot probably hadn’t advanced too far yet. Lin Bie softened her tone, trying to be pleasant.
Leng Jinxi frowned. The neckline of her nightgown revealed a sea of passionate marks. “You’ve had so many girlfriends, Miss Lin. Do you really need to ask?”
Another cutting remark.
Lin Bie blinked. “That’s not what I meant. We were both in heat last night… I was afraid you might feel uncomfortable.”
In this world, there were three genders: Alpha, Omega, and Beta. Betas were like normal people from the real world, but Alphas and Omegas experienced ruts and heats. Their glands—located at the nape of the neck—had to be marked or suppressed with inhibitors.
It had been Lin Bie’s first time, and apparently Leng Jinxi’s too. She was afraid she might have done something to make her hate her even more.
Though, honestly… that favorability was already rock bottom.
Leng Jinxi slipped off the bed, the faint scent of camellias brushing past Lin Bie’s nose, stirring last night’s memories into vivid detail again.
She didn’t think she had done anything especially out of line…
“No,” Leng Jinxi finally said, her tone still cool but not particularly dissatisfied with Lin Bie’s concern.
Lin Bie breathed a quiet sigh of relief. Maybe now was a good time to confess about the transmigration and salvage this mess.
“Leng Jinxi, I know you might not believe me, but I’m not the—”
Ding!
[Friendly System Tip: For your safety, do NOT reveal anything about transmigration to in-world characters!]
Lin Bie: “…” Really, system? Now you show up? I thought you were dead.
Choking back her words, Lin Bie watched as Leng Jinxi’s previously calm expression iced over once more. Her lips curled.
“Not what? Not what I think? Not the person I thought you were? Or not willing to admit what happened last night?”
“You’re always this selfish.” Leng Jinxi sighed, her eyes full of disappointment.
The humiliation she suffered at the banquet the night before surged back—raw, suffocating. Her anger flared as she grabbed Lin Bie’s wrist, her frustration growing as she recalled what Lin Bie had said at the banquet.
She hadn’t seen someone this shameless in a long time. Leng Jinxi felt a rare sense of defeat, and her grip on Lin Bie’s wrist tightened.
“You didn’t want to get married? Fine. But this marriage was arranged by your sister. If you had a problem, you should’ve taken it up with her—not the Leng family, and definitely not me.”
The camellia scent turned sharp and furious. What had been warm and enveloping last night now felt terrifying. Lin Bie realized this was what villain pheromones were like—no wonder they were so feared. She also finally understood what part of the story they were in.
The Lin family and Leng family had arranged a marriage for mutual benefit. The original Lin Bie had agreed, only to cause a scene at the wedding banquet—flipping tables, publicly insulting Leng Jinxi, and walking out, leaving her utterly humiliated in front of all of Liucheng’s elite.
Now that she thought about it, the original must have agreed just to ruin the event and shame the Lengs. Clearly, Leng Jinxi had figured that out, too.
“I was seriously messed up yesterday. Total brain-dead. Locking me in a psych ward would’ve been justified. Just… don’t be angry right now, okay?” Lin Bie tried to pull free and explain, but Leng Jinxi didn’t want to hear it. She cast her a cold glance and turned to leave.
Lin Bie panicked and grabbed her wrist.
“Leng Jinxi, I didn’t mean any of that. I’ll apologize to everyone for what happened last night. I’ll take full responsibility. I’ll do everything I can to make things right for the Leng family. Please, just… give me a chance to explain.”
If Leng Jinxi really walked out, anything Lin Bie said afterward would just look like lies. That would be game over.
Leng Jinxi yanked her arm. “Don’t touch me.” She didn’t want to hear another word. Just thinking about how she’d been moved by one of Lin Bie’s apologies last night…
But Lin Bie refused to let go. As she held her in place, her Alpha strength easily restrained her. And with that contact, she felt something was off.
“You’re burning up.”
Of course. Last night’s storm had left them both soaked. In this world, Alphas and Omegas had different physical limits. Leng Jinxi catching a cold was no surprise.
“How rare,” Leng Jinxi muttered. But instead of being moved by the concern, she gave her a suspicious look. “You’re actually worried about someone?”
In the original story, Lin Bie had flirted with Leng Jinxi for only a few days before losing interest and moving on. She was absolutely not a good person in her eyes.
“Just sit down. I’ll call a doctor. And for the record, I do want to take responsibility.” Lin Bie lit a candle for herself in her mind. She had to start somewhere—anything to stop the favorability from plummeting further.
But Leng Jinxi just laughed coldly and looked at her with even more disdain.
“Responsible?”
“So I’m supposed to be grateful that the famed heartbreaker Lin Bie is willing to throw me a bone?”
