After the Scumbag Alpha Heard her Inner Thoughts (GL) - Chapter 11
Lu Qinghe stayed for two days before returning to work at the group headquarters, leaving Su Wanqing alone at Yuejing.
This week, Su Wanqing officially joined Huafeng. After three days of adjustment, she quickly adapted to the working environment.
If Fang Shucui hadn’t come by today to bring up the issue, she would have been enjoying her peaceful days, almost forgetting the “ticking time bomb” that was Chu Muqing.
“Where are you living?” Chu Muqing asked, glancing around the house — it looked much the same as before, showing no signs of anyone actually living there.
Su Wanqing pointed to a small bedroom on the first floor — typically reserved for maids or housekeepers.
But Yuejing had never hired any help, so the room had been sitting unused.
Xu Chengke had suggested hiring a maid, but Su Wanqing had declined.
“The first floor is convenient,” she explained.
It saved time and effort to set it up, and within a day, Su Wanqing had turned it into a cozy little nest.
“Sit there,” Chu Muqing said, pointing to the sofa.
Su Wanqing, not knowing what was going on, obediently sat down, her gaze following Chu Muqing’s movements as she watched her bend down in the living room to pull out a medical kit.
Chu Muqing, during her previous periods of emotional instability, often smashed things.
Bumps, scrapes, and bruises were common, so Xu Chengke had made sure every house was stocked with basic first aid supplies.
Chu Muqing returned, holding the kit.
“Take off your clothes,” she ordered.
Su Wanqing instinctively touched her shoulder.
It had only hurt briefly when she first got hit; afterward, she hadn’t felt much — hardly serious enough to need treatment.
“Should I do it for you?” Chu Muqing raised an eyebrow.
The look in her eyes was slightly fierce.
Having been a dominant Alpha and a business heir for so long, even her casual words carried a commanding tone.
Su Wanqing meekly tugged at her clothes, pulling them down to reveal her shoulder.
Her skin was fair, and where the cup had struck, there was a large red patch.
Chu Muqing crouched down in front of her, staring for a second.
“You really are like the Princess and the Pea,” she commented.
Chu Muqing first sprayed a layer of antiseptic mist, then applied a thin coat of ointment.
The cool sensation of the medicine spread across Su Wanqing’s skin.
Chu Muqing was so close that if Su Wanqing just tilted her head down a little, she could kiss the side of her face.
For once, Chu Muqing was fully focused, carefully applying the medicine.
The sharpness in her gaze had faded, and there was an almost imperceptible tenderness beneath her usual aloofness.
The faint scent of herbal medicine filled the air between them.
Su Wanqing unconsciously swallowed.
Sometimes, she hated how much of a sucker she was for good looks — she could get smitten way too easily.
After putting the medicine away, Chu Muqing sat beside her.
The sudden closing of distance made Su Wanqing instinctively scoot backward.
Startled by the movement, Chu Muqing frowned slightly, a hint of displeasure flashing across her face.
“You need a massage.”
She placed her hand on Su Wanqing’s shoulder, their gazes locking.
Seeing Chu Muqing’s impossibly close face, Su Wanqing’s heart began pounding wildly.
She quickly raised her hand to block Chu Muqing’s.
“I’ll do it myself.”
Chu Muqing studied her for a moment, her eyes darkening slightly before withdrawing her hand.
“Make sure you massage it properly. It’ll absorb faster.”
Chu Muqing picked up the medical kit from the floor and put it back.
Meanwhile, Su Wanqing sat stiffly on the sofa, absentmindedly rubbing her shoulder with one hand while the other nervously scratched at the sofa.
Chu Muqing grabbed her jacket from the couch and started heading upstairs.
After taking two steps, she turned her head slightly and said,
“I’ll be in the study working on some files. Call me if you need anything.”
Su Wanqing looked up and gave a soft “Mm” in reply.
After confirming that Chu Muqing had disappeared upstairs, Su Wanqing cautiously poked her head out to make sure she had entered the study.
Then, grabbing her bag, she quietly retreated back to her small room.
Her weekend plans had already been disrupted by Fang Shucui.
Now, Su Wanqing curled up with her laptop, trying to catch up on work.
On Friday, her supervisor had assigned her a project, giving her one week to complete market research.
The project was for the summer collection of Yi Ren, a fashion brand under the Lu family’s group.
However, it didn’t seem to be managed by Lu Qinghe.
Su Wanqing opened her browser and searched for Yi Ren.
The company’s current head was a man named Lu Chen — an Alpha, but only a B-rank.
Lu Chen was technically Lu Qinghe’s older cousin.
The two of them didn’t have a particularly close relationship.
Lu Chen was known for being shrewd, preferring to stay hidden behind the scenes, riding the fence rather than charging ahead.
If Yi Ren’s new summer collection turns out to be a big success, Lu Chen’s standing within the Lu family would be greatly improved.
Lu Chen knew this too, which was why he had not only hired Huafeng’s design team but also invited designers from another company.
Huafeng didn’t want to lose this client, so they assigned Su Wanqing to design a competing collection against the other team.
Su Wanqing searched through Yi Ren’s past styles, then determined the preliminary direction for the new line.
She jotted down her ideas in her notes app and closed her laptop.
After rubbing her sore neck, she glanced up — it was already close to midnight without her realizing it.
Su Wanqing shut down her computer, changed into pajamas, and headed upstairs to shower.
As she reached the second floor, she paused.
Chu Muqing had entered the study earlier and hadn’t come out since — not a single sound.
That felt a little strange.
Su Wanqing walked a few steps toward the study, craning her neck to listen for any noises inside.
“Crash!”
She hadn’t expected to hear anything — but there it was, the crisp sound of glass shattering.
What happened?!
Su Wanqing froze for a moment, standing there in shock.
Then — silence. Not a single sound.
A thread of fear wound through her.
She didn’t dare rush in, so she ran downstairs to grab her phone.
Clutching her phone tightly, she crept back up to the study door.
From inside, she could vaguely hear Chu Muqing’s voice — faint, broken, almost like suppressed growls.
But she couldn’t make out what she was saying.
Su Wanqing opened her contact list, her thumb hovering over Xu Chengke’s name at the very top.
She raised her hand and knocked on the study door.
No response.
Before she could react, the door suddenly swung open, and a hand reached out from the darkness — grabbing her wrist with an iron grip and dragging her inside.
Chu Muqing shoved her against the wall.
“Chu Muqing! What’s wrong with you?”
Su Wanqing looked at her, alarmed — she could tell something was very wrong.
Chu Muqing had always had health issues, though the plot hadn’t explained much detail.
Could it be her sensitivity period?
But there was no scent of pheromones in the air…
Chu Muqing’s body was trembling, her hair messy around her shoulders, but her strength hadn’t weakened.
Her grip was painfully tight around Su Wanqing’s wrist.
It hurt, but Su Wanqing didn’t dare focus on that now.
“I…” Chu Muqing’s voice was hoarse.
Her entire body felt unbearably hot, pheromones surging at the glands, but she couldn’t release them —
they were trapped, building up inside her until she was nearly driven mad.
An Alpha’s sensitivity period made them volatile, suspicious, craving their Omega.
All the negative emotions crashed in at once — her head pounding so badly she thought it would split open.
Unable to control herself, Chu Muqing had smashed objects in an attempt to vent.
“Chu Muqing!”
Her current state was obviously abnormal.
Maybe Xu Chengke would know what to do.
Su Wanqing glanced at the phone lying on the floor, its screen still glowing faintly blue.
Chu Muqing’s temples throbbed violently.
Her grip loosened slightly — Su Wanqing seized the chance to pull them both down to the floor.
Chu Muqing’s hand slipped off, but she reacted fast — her hand darting up to grip Su Wanqing’s neck.
“Don’t move,” Chu Muqing growled lowly.
She inhaled deeply — it was the scent of an Omega.
Chu Muqing licked her lips and lowered her head to nuzzle against Su Wanqing’s scent gland, inhaling deeply.
“So fragrant,” she murmured.
The smell of roses filled the air — a clear signal of pheromones.
But how could this be?
They had only recently formed a temporary bond — it shouldn’t have triggered a full heat.
Su Wanqing, trembling slightly, reached backward and tapped Xu Chengke’s name on her phone screen.
By now, Chu Muqing had completely lost her rationality.
She opened her mouth, licking Su Wanqing’s scent gland lightly — not biting, but savoring, like a predator relishing the moment before the feast.
The call connected.
On the other end, Xu Chengke, still half-asleep, blinked blearily at the screen before answering.
“What’s wrong, madam?” he mumbled.
“Your boss seems to be going through sensitivity — she’s smashed a lot of things. What’s happening to her?”
Hearing that, Xu Chengke immediately sobered up and jumped out of bed.
“Sorry, Madam. Please help her — her gland is having issues, and her sensitivity cycle is in chaos. Could you give her an inhibitor shot?”
Before Su Wanqing could even respond, Chu Muqing clamped a hand over her mouth.
“Mmmph!” Let me go!
Chu Muqing leaned down, her voice low and coaxing.
“Shh. Don’t make noise.”
In the pitch-black study, Su Wanqing lay helpless on the floor, staring up at Chu Muqing.
Tears glistened at the corners of Chu Muqing’s eyes, and sweat trickled down her face, leaving faint tracks behind.
Her normally cool and sharp wolf-cut hair was damp, clinging messily to her head — her usual composed image completely shattered.
Xu Chengke said he’d arrive in twenty minutes and then immediately hung up the phone.
Afterward, he quickly called Cheng Zhuo to wake him up, and the two of them set out together for Yuejing.
Last time, Chu Muqing still had some sanity left, and her pheromone concentration hadn’t been this intense.
Now, Alpha pheromones were leaking directly from her skin.
Su Wanqing’s body had gone limp, drained of strength.
She shakily reached out, grabbing Chu Muqing’s waist.
“Chu Muqing, wake up!”
Chu Muqing’s teeth brushed lightly against Su Wanqing’s scent gland.
Su Wanqing’s whole body convulsed —
like being struck by electricity, the sensation spread explosively through her limbs and bones.
Su Wanqing started to struggle violently.
This wasn’t the same as last time.
Chu Muqing had completely lost her reason.
And Xu Chengke had said her gland had problems —
could she even withstand being marked again so soon?
“Chu Muqing, don’t!”
Tears spilled from Su Wanqing’s eyes, sliding down to fall on the back of Chu Muqing’s hand.
But the pain she was expecting — the sharp puncture of teeth breaking the skin — never came.
Su Wanqing cautiously opened her eyes.
Chu Muqing was reaching for a shard of broken glass on the floor, gripping it tightly in her palm.
The smell of bl00d — metallic and raw — mixed into the heavy scent of pheromones in the air.
“Chu Muqing…”
Su Wanqing struggled to sit up.
“Your hand…”
Chu Muqing slumped against the leg of the desk, the wound on her hand giving her a moment of brief, sobering clarity.
Lying there, Su Wanqing noticed that her cotton bunny-print pajamas had ridden up to her thighs, the soft fabric full of messy wrinkles.
Chu Muqing squeezed her eyes shut helplessly.
Her gland was indeed malfunctioning.
But ever since the temporary mark with Su Wanqing, she had been feeling better.
Why had it suddenly flared up again?
Chu Muqing carefully retraced the evening’s events.
When she had gone to pay the bill after dinner, she’d briefly brushed against a waitress and there had been a peculiar fragrance clinging to her clothes.
“Chu Muqing?”
Still seeing no reaction, Su Wanqing cautiously called her name.
“Get out!”
Su Wanqing scrambled to grab her phone, quickly straightened her clothes, and bolted out of the study.
Once outside, she immediately called Xu Chengke again.
Xu Chengke was speeding toward Yuejing with Cheng Zhuo.
“Madam, how is the boss now?” Xu Chengke asked urgently.
Su Wanqing pressed herself against the bathroom door, trying to keep her voice low.
“She’s holding on for now… but she just cut her hand.”
“Don’t worry, Madam. We’ll be there in ten minutes.”
Su Wanqing thought about what had just happened in the study — Chu Muqing hurting herself to avoid hurting her.
There must be something I can do to help her.
“Is there anything I can do to help her?”
“In the first-floor medical kit,” Xu Chengke said quickly, “there’s a strong inhibitor shot. You can give it to her.”
“No!”
Cheng Zhuo’s voice interrupted sharply in the background.
“She can’t use it right now — she was induced into this!”
“Is there any other way?” Su Wanqing asked.
“Just let her mark you!”
Cheng Zhuo shouted through the phone, completely unfiltered, his voice loud and clear.
Silence fell inside the car.
Su Wanqing, still clutching the phone, fell silent too.
“But you have to be careful,” Cheng Zhuo quickly added, realizing the situation,
“She might… lose control a little.”
Thinking about how Chu Muqing had acted earlier — the wildness in her eyes, the painful trembling —
Su Wanqing fully understood the part Cheng Zhuo had left unsaid.
“I understand,” she said quietly.
After hanging up, Su Wanqing glanced at the time.
Ten minutes.
Just ten more minutes until the doctor arrived.
Every second seemed to crawl by.
When the ten minutes were almost up, Xu Chengke called again.
“Madam,” he said urgently, “the car broke down on the road.
Cheng Zhuo and I are trying to get there on foot, but it’ll take at least half an hour.
Please, look after the boss in the meantime.”
Su Wanqing: “……”
